Back in April my LG washer/dryer combo stopped drying our clothes when I was doing a load of laundry late in the evening. I used Yelp's Project function which sends off request for quotes for projects you need to hire someone for. It was 11 pm and wasn't expecting to get any responses until the morning. I was surprised to see that Art had responded to my request almost immediately with the price to diagnose the problem (which was then applied to the cost of the repair after I agreed to have it done) and gave me the time frame when someone could be out to look at it the next day. Art showed up at the agreed time, quickly diagnosed the problem, repaired a pump which has failed, and did a much needed maintenance on it which I don't think had been done before. I was worried because washer/dryer combos are not very common and parts are sometimes not readily available. Luckily Art was able to get the part and install it quickly. I was more impressed when a he reached out a few days later to check to make sure the machine was working fine, which it was and still is. Unfortunately, my refrigerator went out during a power outage from our last rain storm, and I requested quotes through Yelp. Big H&A was not only one of the first responders, but also offered the fastest day/time to come out - of which was important given time was not on my side with food defrosting. They came out, did a thorough cleaning, and inspection - they even showed me where I should clean dust my refrigerator annually. However, a cleaning wasn't enough- my fridge still wouldn't cool down. Mark came back out the next day and inspected it again and found a circuit board wasn't fully functioning. Mark ordered the part, and came right back out to switch that. Lo and behold, a fan also, was not working properly- and all of these issues were not obvious at the initial cleaning. Mark ordered a fan, came out the same day it arrived, and even helped me bring my trash cans onto my property!! After the fan, my refrigerator is working as new, it's even more quiet than before, and they checked in on me for two more days post install to be sure I was all set. Art is by far the most honest appliances repair tech I've hired! I'm a girl so most of the time they want to over charge me and I get so mad but Art is just amazing! My fridge had a terrible noise so he came and fixed one important part, but then the fridge continued to make another noise so he came again to check it at not extra charge, he then ordered the part that was giving me problems on eBay (because my fridge is old and they don't manefacture the parts anymore) but they never shipped the part. At the end, he ended up coming back and fixing the part himself and only charged me for the minor parts that were needed. He is very professional and you can tell he cares about his customers. The guy rushed, was on his cell making personal calls the entire time, did work without asking or giving quotes, and then charged a small fortune which we were not expecting. We had a surprisingly challenging oven install to deal with. Concrete counter that was too small, not enough space to bring the oven into the kitchen easily which means it had to be lifted over the counter. Art responded to my request for a fridge repair within ten seconds of me requesting a quote. He was upfront about the consulting fee, which ended up being reasonable and deducted from my total after he provided servicing. He was available next day at basically any time I needed, showed up in a mask, immediately identified the issue with the freezer/fridge (blocked pipe/duct that needed repairing), took about 30 minutes, and the whole affair cost me less the WEEKLY for bill for groceries ive had to throw out on account of the ice frost buildup that would accumulate at the top of the fridge and melt periodically. For six months, I've been making due wirh soggy vegetables and milk/meat that goes bad with so much extra water, and Art fixed it in 30 minutes. Bless him. read more
