There was only two young guys working behind the counter. Bottom Line: I know this is not going to be popular. Let me say - I LOVE DelFiore. Their pizza - not so much. Their toppings are spectacular. Their crust on those spectacular pizza are not so spectacular. We ordered a Bianco, a White, a zucchini and a pepperoni. The pepperoni was delicious. This crust, good sauce. Pizza. The other slices - the toppings were delicious but it wasn't pizza. The crust was more like focaccia. Focaccia with great toppings cut in pizza shape but not pizza. Their food is amazing. Despite a mishap, I'm giving them 5 stars because of how delicious everything we were able to eat was. I ordered food from them through door dash. The DoorDasher left our food on the porch, knowing there was a rip in the bag (we could see him trying to cover it up WITH HIS FOOT on our doorbell cam, which we checked later that evening). When we picked up the bag, door dasher was just walking away, the bag tore and all of our food fell to the ground. Our salad exploded... which I personally was very upset about because it looked really good, even piled on the stoop of our house. The dasher told us to call Delfiore. I unintentionally "karened" my way to the manager who sounded very apologetic and said that once the food leaves the building the responsibility is on door dash, which I totally understood. I'm only writing this to highlight the food that we were able to eat (packaged in secure plastic containers, which only leaked ) was incredible. I also appreciate the tone in the mangers voice as he apologized, he really sounded sincere. I was able to get refunded through door dash (I am sincerely apologetic to Delfiore for this, I honestly didn't expect them to refund what they did). I will be ordering from them again, a nice big order to make up for the last one. Your food is always on point. I've been to Del Fiore a handful of times for lunch but surprisingly the other day was my first check in. Man.... if I lived in Patchogue or Bayport or Sayville... THIS would be my pizza spot. Oooo so good like 4.5 stars good. I've had the Plain, Margarheita and Brooklyn. By far hands down Brooklyn wins. Both the Margarheita and Brooklyn are a nice and crispy crusted pizza! It's no secret I've had a differnce in opinion of Delfiore over the years. In fact I've reviewed them as "Hands down the most overrated, cruddy-crusted compilation of crap I've ever consumed." I feel bad for being harsh, but I've had such grumpy service and such bad experiences when grabbing a slice or two. Well, tonight I had a bit of a Eureka! moment; I realized the reason I go back and forth is that some places, you can get great slices but a pie to go just fails, well Del fiore is just the opposite. The pies I order really are pretty great. The slices on a whim, always let me down. I'm a little cheap I guess but they really are overpriced since their move to Main Street years ago. What has really out-shined though, are their meatballs, some of my favorite over the years, tender as can be, saucy, and wonderful! This being said, what kind of pizza shop doesn't make a hero? HANDS DOWN: my favorite pizza place ever. They make such great specialty slices that I've never once ordered a plain slice...but I'm sure they're just as good! Usually we order a fresh Margarita pie which they whip up right there and cook to your liking. When it comes out it is hot and bubbling with fresh basil on top. You can't get any better than that! A couple of my other favorites pizzas they have are the Fiesta, Brooklyn, and the Irish! The Irish is only around once in a while and it's cheese, potatoes, bacon, scallions, and served with a side of sour cream. YUM!! They wouldn't also let us substitute the pasta that came with the chicken for penne ale vodka so we ended up with a side of pasta that we didn't want to eat. We also had to wait along time. Tonight was the second night, I personally have ordered food from Delfiore! My friend orders, goes here often and recommended it to me one night when I couldn't think of what to eat for dinner. The first time I ordered from here, I ordered penne alla vodka- delicious, but a little heavy on the sauce. Tonight, I was craving soup and love lentil soup (if it is made right). Well, I took a chance and boy oh boy am I glad I did- this was the best lentil soup I have had in a long time! This soup was made Italian style, and I have not had lentil soup as wonderful as my Grandmothers since she passed- this was pretty close! So delicious! Thank you! As a native New Yorker, this is by far not the best pizza I ever had in my life. Having said that, it's not the worst either. Not your typical pizzeria in downtown Patchogue that serves all sorts of specialty pizze like buffalo chicken, lasagna or fried zucchini to margherita. It's more "out of state" pizza than downstate NY but they use fresh ingredients so it doesn't taste like absolute crap. The crust is too thick and crunchy but the sauce is nice, the not overpowering fresh mozzarella was good and the addition of fresh basil gave it extra flavor. Slices are quite small so one won't fill you up (even after two I wasn't quite satisfied) and it's rather over priced. I know I'll catch flack for saying this, but it's almost like a chain pizza joint but with fresh ingredients. Can I recommend it? Well, you try it and decide. read more

Honestly the wait is sometimes really long. The last time I went I waited about half an hour for a slice of cheese pizza and it was burnt... when I asked for it to not be too hot. The what seemed like owner asked me if it was too "done" lol really... yes! It's Black on the bottom! Pricey but Dee-licious... A friend of ours recoommended this place. We stopped by late on a Tuesday night and order the $29 Fiesta Pizza and OMG was a treat. The fiesta pizza [pic attached] has a thicker crust as opposed to thin crust, but don't think Sicilian. I'm talking a hare thicker. The crust is also Chicago-like with a pie crust and buttery flakiness to it. Covered with just the right amount of grilled chicken, buffalo mozzarella, arugula, red onion and balsamic vinegar it is a great end to a long day. My favorite pizza place in NY! I swear by this place and every time we have friends come in from out of town we bring them here for the best pizza in NY. I was living in Patchogue last year and have been here countless times and have yet to be disappointed. The BROOKLYN is to die for. My personal favorite.
