Honestly, I wasn't going to say anything because I'm not usually a confrontational person but after what happened, I feel a responsibility to warn others. This experience was not only disappointing, but also costly and frustrating, and the way it was handled was completely unacceptable. About 2.5-3 weeks ago, my tire exploded while I was on the freeway on my way to work. I was in a rush but still wanted to get to work safely, so I looked up the nearest tire shop. The first shop I visited didn't have the right size, but they kindly referred me to Big O Tires and even called ahead to confirm the tire size was in stock. When I arrived, everything seemed to go smoothly at first. I explained my situation and said I needed to replace one tire. A staff member named Byron took my info, did an inspection, and I very clearly informed him that my driver-side door had minor damage due to a previous break-in. I explained it still worked perfectly fine as long as you shut it firmly.I was asked to sign a packet of paperwork and pay upfront before the car was returned to me. mind you this was a $216 service just for 1 single tire. Once the car was ready I made the mistake of not inspecting it immediately after since I was in a rush to get to work. But once I got to work and exited my vehicle, I immediately noticed my driver-side door was completely misaligned and crooked. It will not properly shut nor will the locking system trigger that specific door to look nor unlock. I immediately called the shop and a worker named Alex answered, I explained the problem and he apologized to me informing me to come back and they would fix it for me. I told him the soonest I would be able to return would be the next day since I wouldn't be able to get there before closing. I took time out of my day to return. But when I arrived, Byron acted confused about why I was back. After I explained, he immediately got defensive and told me that since I signed paperwork, they weren't liable and that my only option was to take them to court. The two mechanics who worked on my car flat out denied causing the damage, even though it was very obvious the damage occurred during the service. The door was literally hanging off alignment and unusable. To his credit, one mechanic named Giovany even offered to help pay for the repair himself, I politely declined and told him I was so frustrated because I had spent the last of my money to cover this emergency expense just for it to turn into a financial burden and spend more money to have it fixed, on something that could have been avoided if they were careful about how they handled the vehicle. He gave me a referral to a friend and said he'd cover the cost which clearly indicates they knew they messed up. I appreciated his honesty, but the fact remains: the shop itself refuses to take responsibility. Alex even had the audacity to say they could fix it, giving out false information. Absolutely outrageous. Now I'm left with a damaged door, a hefty repair bill, and the inconvenience of crawling through my passenger side every time I drive. All because I trusted this business to simply replace a tire. I now have to spend $500 to have my driver side door repaired all because of a careless establishment. Big O Tires took my money, damaged my property, and then refused to make it right. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you value your time, money, and the safety of your vehicle go somewhere else. read more

I had an amazing experience with these guys. Calling aboutl 3 days ahead regarding a stripped wheel stud that needed replacing. Byron was friendly and helpful over the phone quoting a transparent price and placing my appointment. Easy! I arrived on my appointment date and was helped by Victor. He, too, was awesome. When my car was on the rack, he asked me if I really needed stud replacement since it was only stripped in a minor fashion. I really didn't need to do the job. Brought my truck in for an alignment. They put it up on the rack so I walked across the street to get a coffee. I got back and a few minutes later they said it was ready and gave me the spec sheet. Brakes completely failed while driving-Brought my car in for a tune up was told I needed new brakes in the back. Two days later I drove to San Francisco and had complete brake failure! Apparently they over pressurized the brakes which led to failure- the hose detached while I was driving and brake fluid came pouring out. Thankfully this did not happen on the highway and that I did not hit a pedestrian while in San Francisco. When I called them asking for a tow back to the East Bay they refused- unreal, it's the very least they could do. The manager checked with the owner of the shop and he refused to cover the tow! **and yes they did offer to tow it to a store in San Francisco which was not helpful as I explained I needed to get home to the east bay to my kid where I live and could not sit there waiting all day (which was until 6pm) to be serviced. Bryan and his team provided me outstanding service this afternoon. I had a tire pressure issue and Bryan determined I had two screw punctures. Instead of trying to sell me two front tires, he showed me how patches would be effective in spite of my mountain driving. The store/station was very busy but he offered to expedite my repair (I think he felt I, at 82, looked like I needed TLC). The job was completed quickly with a charge for one fix, not two. Always great repair service from BigO. The plugged my flat and had the vehicle ready to go in 2 hours which was a much shorter wait than competitors. You can also make appt online if you don't require immediate service. I typically do not buy new tires here because (1) puncture warranty is expensive (free at Costco) and (2) pricing is better at Americas Tire. But certain worth getting a quote just make sure you get the total price with install and warranty. read more

I was told I had a faulty alternator from a different mechanic, I saw the diagnostic results from them and was ready to purchase an alternator and have it installed at Big O. I am sooooo incredibly glad I came here for my oil change!! I happened to be in the area, and my dashboard gave me a warning that my oil level was at the minimum level. I found a Groupon for an oil change at Big O' Tires, so I got it and went straight over. They were super busy and told me that it would be done by 4. Since I had no place to go, I popped open my laptop and worked in the lobby. One hour later, my car was done! The person who assisted me noticed and said that he couldn't make me wait until 4 And all the other staff were so incredibly nice and friendly too. I've been to other places, and that was definitely not the case. One in particular was so awful, I still remember it vividly, even though it was 10+ years ago. My experience here couldn't be better. I have been a customer for years but this time I am very disappointed in the service. We called in ahead of time and ordered 4 new tires ($2200) and went in waited hours for the tires to be put on. I drove home and alignment was way off it was veering to the right, my safety driving, auto pilot, and sensors were messed up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called in shared my concerns and was asked to bring it back well I had a business meeting in LA that had to be postponed and had to take time off work again to take it in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The manager said we were up next. We walked around downtown and had lunch came back 2 hours later car is untouched and they started working on another car. I now have to take my car to tesla to get it aligned and reactivate which is going to be more time and money. Everything was working fine when I brought it in to BiG O for just tires.
