so i already had a bad experience here back in july, with the manager screwing me over twice on an a/c appointment. i decided to try them again, due to having trouble finding an oil filter and oil for our car at other locations. now, they are asking for a license plate or vin, just to confirm if they have a filter and oil for you? they won't help you or confirm what they have, unless you provide this? this is ridiculous. look it up according to the year, make and model. it's not that hard! forcing me to have to call my wife, or go pull records on our car, just to confirm if (or if not) you even have a filter for me is literally stupid. the kicker? their other location in san ramon doesn't ask for a license plate or vin. they simply looked up whether they had the filter/oil for my car. there is something wrong with this jiffy lube danville location and how they do business. i will not make the mistake of calling them again. do yourself a favor and avoid this location. complete idiocy there. read more

Due to a technician problem during and oil change my driveway now has a huge oil stain. Jiffy Lube promised to clean or repair. Every company I had out told me that the stain will not come out and sections need to be replaced. I obtained several quotes from verified concrete contractors and suppled the estimates to Jiffy Lube. Jiffy Lube is only offering a small fraction of the cost to repair my driveway. I did give Jiffy Lube the opportunity to clean the driveway 2 times - Ist time their power washer created even more damage creating a hole in my driveway in addition to the large stain. Went to get an oil change the beginning of September. They told me my rear brakes needed to be replaced, so they did that. Today I went to Big O Tires to get my tires replaced and they told me the brake calipers were missing a bolt and whoever did the work replace my rear brakes didn't replace the bolt and it was being held together using electrical tape instead. Now I'm having to pay for the bolt so that can be placed on. But more importantly this would've been a safety issue. Never coming back here again. read more

Jiffy Lube in Danville- unsung heroes Today there was a sweet teenage looking boy parked with hazard lights on in the middle of San Ramón Valley Blvd before Hartz. His battery gave out, couldn't push the car bc neutral didn't work without the battery. I pulled over to help and happened to be in the Jiffy Lube parking lot. Upon letting them know why I was parking if I may use their lot, 3 guys immediately sprung into action to help much more than I could have. Without hesitation, they got jumper cables, another car from their business pulled up alongside to use that battery to jump, another JL employee got cones to block traffic from behind, it was his first day on the job. Please don't waste your money or time! I would rate negative stars if I could!! I have gone to this location multiple times, and each time my car is worse than when I left. 1. While this a corporate problem, up-charging for oil on European cars--that aren't luxury by any means, specifically a base model VW--is a total rip off. They force you into paying over $125 for "European oil" which is a marketing tactic. Unfortunately, I chose to pay for convenience of having a service that I could easily go to after work. What a joke! 2. In May 2023, I had my oil changed, and a few weeks later I was completely out of oil, no air in tires, and my oil light had come on. Plus I had a warning light pop up on my car. Previous to this I had never had issues with my car, ever. I called to question the issues and was told to bring my car back, which all they did was run a code. 3. I brought my car again just a couple weeks ago, March 2024, which was a huge mistake. My oil light is still going off, no air in tires--filled them myself--and I almost broke down because they didn't top off my fluids--mainly my coolant. Then I had to go and find and purchase coolant. Not sure what I'm paying for, and I'm very curious if they actually changed my oil! So of course, when I call to complain, the manager conveniently can't find my information, and tells me to bring my car again for him to personally inspect. Interestingly enough, he was there when I brought my car most recently, and was able to find my info just by looking up my number! I requested a refund for at least my most recent service as I now have to go to a different mechanic and have them make sure my car isnt going to explode or break down, and more than likely pay to have my oil changed again. I had to spend time and additional money adding oil and coolant to my car after both times I had services here. But the manager said, "I'm sorry we can't do that." What a bold faced lie! They stole from me while I was getting my oil changed! Be aware that this location does not have any cameras! Came in on 3/28/23 for an oil change and tire rotation and ended up getting $50 stolen from my car. I was the only car there and they had all four technicians working on my car. I saw the kid lean into my car and do something in my center console, then look up at me surprised that I was watching him. Then he put his hands in his pockets and walked over to his car right after. I was immediately suspicious of him after I seen that so of course the first thing I checked for when I got in my car was if all my stuff was there. Surprise surprise it wasn't. The store manager, Willie, and regional manager, Philip, were no help. Their exact words were "we asked them if they stole it and they said no." NO SHIT THEY SAID NO! The techs at this location are all some broke ass little boys with sticky fingers that apparently need to be paid more so they don't continue to feel the need to steal from customers. Do not go here!!!!! My wife got an oil change here a few days ago, now the car is leaking oil. She went back, and they said the transmission pan is leaking. I just went under the car, and the transmission pan area is completely dry. The oil filter that they replaced has fresh drops of oil dripping from it. It's one thing to do a poor job. Awful customer service. They look stoned AF and super slow. After oil changed, the engine light came on( it was NOT on when I dropped it off. They try to tell me it was on when I arrived (1st lie) and then he told me they drove it around ( That's a second lie because I was right there). Incredible to me how they try to make it look it was my fault. After telling them to hook it up to a diagnostic tool and tell me what's the code fault , they did a reset and the engine light went off. How easy and how difficult they made it. Took my Tahoe in for an oil change and leak check. They told me the leak was because the filter wasn't properly place last oil change. Oh, yes they did that oil change ! They didn't vacuum or do my outside windows ( which i don't really care) however after checking my oil life on my computer system it was 20%. After driving my car 1 day I now have the same oil leak. Not sure at this point if they even changed it as they didn't do any of the other things they checked off on the list ! 135.00 for what ?? Beware this business takes advantage of people who may not no too much about auto maintenance, and charges exorbitant fees for replacement parts. My young daughter took her car here for an oil change, and they proceeded to tell her that her cabin air filter was very dirty and needed to be changed. She felt like she was pressured to replace it then and then, then charged her $54.99 for a part (air cabin filter) that could have been purchased else where for $10.99. When confronted about this they didn't care at all and blankly stated that they just give you info and options. I have been taking my Toyota Pruis to Daville's Jiffy Lube for years but won't go back. I don't trust them, neither about the quality of their work nor honesty in charging for services. The scheme is to charge $149 dollars or more for your oil change no matter what. The "manager" - who, btw, was very rude - gave me someone else's ( wrong person/same car model) estimate with $80 parts and $70 labor for an oil change. When I pointed out the mistake, the new (my car estimate) came up with $45 parts (I used a cheaper oil) and $95 for the labor. I asked about the difference and, after some back-and-forth whispering between the "rude manager" and the person at the counter, they came up with a lame excuse and blamed "the corporate" - in other words, "not our fault". In addition, after an "inspection," they recommended rotating the tires. Considering that they were brand new, less than a month old, it was just the way to squeeze profit. That's it. I've used Jiffy Lube for over a decade, including this particular location a few times, with good results, but I guess recently my luck with them ran out. After a recent oil change I've noticed almost immediately that the car was dripping oil, leaving stains in my driveway. I brought the car back to JL, explained the problem, they took a look, and the JL person was like "Did you do anything with the oil drain bolt? There is some kind of green gel on it". I said "No, why would I? You guys just did the oil change on it yesterday". They were like "That's strange. Ok, we'll tighten up the drain bolt to resolve the dripping". But the oil kept on dripping, so I had to bring the car back to them yet again. This time they said they completely re-did the oil change, and after that the dripping stopped. Still, the whole experience was obviously very concerning, not to mention the hassle of cleaning up the oil from the driveway. This place is a complete waste of time. Went here a couple weeks ago. After registering and waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I was told they did not have the right filter for my car. "Bring in your own filter," they said, "and we will change the oil." So, I buy my own filter and returned a few days later. This time they say they don't have the right oil for my car. "Get your own oil," they say, "and we'll change it." What's next? Don't have the right mechanic? "Bring your own mechanic...." If you don't service the kind of car I have (just a plain old BMW, by the way), then just say that in the first 10 seconds that I'm there and we can all move on with our lives. Then they claimed that they checked the tire pressure and all was good, but my right rear tire I'd visibly low and the dash has a pressure warning still. They are either Dishonest or Sloppy My wife pushed me to write this review as I am a "car guy". I took my work truck (Ford F150) in for an oil change yesterday (2/16/2022). They did the oil change ($154.), but I had a problem with them last time (they forgot to put the oil cap on the fill hole (on the valve cover) and oil sprayed all over my engine compartment on my way home, so this time I checked the truck before I left. I notice the OLD oil filter was still on the motor. I double checked and sure enough they did not replace the oil filter. I went back in and told them, they did not seem to be surprised, and they never apologized. They said the guy that works under the car just left so they did not know what to do?? Really, I told them to change the filter and the guy in charge finally said "OK" ... The oil filter is ALLWAYS to be changed when you change the oil, it is very important. But the average customer would never know if they really changed the filter. This is an easy way for a garage to make $10 more per oil change... I asked the guy who poured the new oil in how he could let the guy working below skip changing the filter... he just shrugged and walked away... I could not believe this was happening in Danville... I am a 20+ year resident of Danville and try to support local business, I also work on cars as a hobby and run them a Laguna Seca and Sears Point racetracks. I got the feeling they were not that surprised the filter was skipped. Which leads me to think this is a common practice?? I hope not, but the fact that they forget to put the cap on the oil spout last time and this time forgot to change the oil filter is very bad. They are either dishonest or very sloppy. When it comes to car maintenance, my motto is simply "get 'er done"...no complicated technical stuff please, just tell me the essentials and take care of it. This Jiffy Lube was exactly my style. The staff were Disneyland friendly, went through all the suggested services for my poor little Honda (even showed me the grimy filters that needed to be changed - I need the visual evidence), and promised to have me in and out in less than 20 mins, which they did. I'm not in Danville often, but if you're a local I wouldn't hesitate sending you here for super fast, friendly and competent service. I took my family's Subaru Forrester here for an oil change once, they turned it around pretty quick, but neglected to do a lot of the little things on their check list. It was pretty obvious they didn't check tire pressures, clean the windows etc. The biggest problem with my experience was the customer service, I was a newbie and didn't know what kind of oil went in the Forrester. So I asked if that information was in the owners manual or on a sticker somewhere under the hood, as it was not my car and I didn't know. The guy at the counter said it would be impossible for them to check under the hood and search for the information. He tried to convince me it was probably 10w-30 which was what they had the most stock of. Me not knowing just went along with it, but it turned out to be the wrong weight engine oil. I don't think It would have taken him but 1 minute to take a peek under the hood (I later found that there are in fact stickers and markings indicating exactly what kind of oil the Subie uses under the hood). Or flip through the owners manual, but he couldn't be bothered to check or let me check. And thus I got the wrong kind of oil in my car.
