I have been coming to this tire center at Costco for 3 of my cars for over two decades! Their prices are excellent and their quality of work is great & professional. I can understand that if you're doing a drop-in, it can take hours! Do NOT do a drop-in, as the wait time is extremely unpredictable. The awesome thing is that you can do an online appointment. I normally come here whenever there's a deal to purchase 4 brand new tires. They do have tire warranties when you purchase from them, so there have been numerous times over the years that I would get a nail in the tire, and Costco will replace them. When you purchase tires from them, you will also get free balance & rotations too, so I take full advantage of doing that for every 6K miles. The tire center is also opened before the warehouse is opened, so you could scheduled an appointment as early as 7am or 8am. I comes here often, but it's so much better when you pre schedule an online appointment. Ever since they've allowed that, it has made my experience so much better & convenient. read more

I arrived at the Costco Tire Center two hours before closing with a flat tire, but was turned away. I was told there were others in the same situation and that they don't service Goodyear tires. I understand limitations, but it was frustrating and disappointing--especially since no other tire shops were open at the time. What made it worse was that I ended up calling a mobile tire service, and they came and fixed the flat right in front of the Costco Tire Center, while staff inside offered no assistance. This experience showed a complete lack of effort or care, even in an emergency situation. As a loyal Costco member, I expected better. read more

Made an appointment for my tires to be rebalanced due to excessive shaking. I bought the Michelin tires here at Costco and was installed here at Costco a couple weeks prior. An hour in and I'm still waiting. Mummified out here staring into space. Contemplating if I should have just taken it down to the Amigos in the hood to get it done within 10 mins. These tire dudes at Costco work slower than molasses running down a tree. You ask why I give them a star? Because I am a Costco fan. But management needs to light a fire under the asses of the tire department. I swear, I feel like Costco probably complete 10 vehicles a day when Enrique in the hood can do 10 within an hour WITHOUT tools. At this rate I fully plan on building an encampment here to shelter myself from the elements of Costco's parking lot. read more

Had 11:30 appt today for balance and rotation. Tires purchased at Costco. Arrived 11:20. I was checked in at 11:30. All good right? Not. It took two hours. When I expressed my frustration, I got the look of disdain with no apology or explanation for the delay. So much for being proactive and making an appt. Terrible customer service which has continued to decline over the last few years. Next time I need tires, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I always have a great experience at Costco with tires, but this last time was really extraordinary. I called and talked to someone on the phone (I think their name was Craig) who really went above and beyond to help me find the right tires for my vehicle. I was out of state and needed to get an appointment because I only had 1 day between when I landed back in California and when I needed to drive cross country to move to NYC. Craig helped me find tires that would be in stock by the very short deadline I had, even though the Costco website said they were out of stock. The person who worked on my car (Jesus) was super friendly and professional. He called me to double check when I accidentally told them the wrong two tires to change. My car was completely done in just 45 minutes, and everyone was extremely kind and professional. I tried to give a tip to the people who helped me, but they told me they can't accept tips. That is crazy to me! I'm now expected to tip someone for handing me a premade scone, but I can't tip for extraordinary service on the vehicle that protects my safety everyday. I 10/10 recommend Danville Costco Tire Center. I never go anywhere else! read more

My tires came in early so I waited in line for a walk-in at their opening time at 9am. I was able to get their last walk-in and was told that they should be available by noon. After coming back by 1:30pm, I noticed that my car was still in the parking lot and still had my old tires on. I asked the front staff about the eta and the man at the front gave me a ton of attitude and told me that it would be done by the end of the day. The car was finished at 6:30pm, 9 hours and 30 minutes after dropping my car off. As if that wasn't bad enough, they tore open my bag holding my wheel locks and broke the zippers on it AND didn't bother calibrating the car via the in-menu so the tire pressure light had gone on. Now, I love Costco for its deals and generally positive customer service, especially at the Danville location. Every other department that I've gone to has been solid EXCEPT for the tires department. If you're in need of tires and want a decent price on them, check somewhere else that will price match. read more

I brought my minivan into this shop to have new tires put on. The installation went fine and they finished early, but they bent my key while they had it. When I brought that to the attention of the guys at the front desk, they insisted they did not bend my key and the supervisor was very defensive. I am 100% sure the key was not bent when I gave it to them. I got the key repaired for $57.16 and sent pictures and the bill to the manager. I will be interested to see how they respond and will post an update. Update on Jan. 13, 2024: I received a Costco credit from the tire center. Since they made it right, I will upgrade my score. read more

I had to replace two of my tires due to wear. I was told the other two were fine, but surprised the warranty doesn't cover it. Anyway, I made my purchase and was told they should be in stock within 24-48 hours, "We'll call you!" One week later, I called them. Yes, they were in, but no one called me. I booked my appointment over the phone and showed up on a Thursday for a 7pm appointment. We decided to stop in an hour before our appointment to take our time, walk to dinner, do some shopping at Costco with the hopes that our car would be ready by the time the store closes. Well, we closed the store down at 8:30 pm and walked over to the tire center where we saw our car entering the garage. They were THAT busy that the customers in front of us were just getting their car as ours was going in. We didn't get our car until a little after 9:00 pm. The attendant apologized profusely and said that they were double booked. I assume that Costco schedules this way in case people cancel, but in the cases where everyone shows up, this is what happens. Yes, it is still a good deal but when supply over takes demand, it feels like there will be consequences. read more

Costco Tire Center in Danville, CA totally sucks! I purchased new tires "with warranty" in May, 2023 and had a flat that needed repair. I took my car in at 10:30 AM to have them exchange the tire for the spare which was done in an hour. I picked the car up at noon. It took them until 6:40 PM to have the tire ready when I showed up at 7 PM to have the tire put back on it took until 8:30 while I was waiting to put the tire on. What's the use of having a warranty when it's nearly impossible to get a flat repaired in a reasonable amount of time. All day to repair a flat?? What a waste of good space to have a chincy piece of total inefficiency in the neighborhood. Don't waste your time buying a waste of warranty here. Go anywhere else and save yourself a bunch of headaches. This "shop" & " non-service" is a total joke & waste of time.. read more

Just a heads up - do not hang your hat on the Costco tire warranty. I discovered a flat yesterday before a major trip. As usual Costco does not stock Michelin tires for my vehicle and I was told I would be waiting hours if I came down for a free repair (which in this case was probably not even possible given the remaining tread). So no free repair, no pro-rated replacement (the tire was shot at 55% of the treadwear warranty) and at least a few days for the tire to arrive. As a result I was forced to go to another tire shop which was able to get same-day delivery for the replacements and same-day install, which allowed me to salvage my trip. Costco is great if (1) you are able to plan your tire purchase in advance (2) you don't mind limited selection from Michelin or Bridgestone and (3) you can drive on your spare for a few days while waiting for a warranty replacement. But not so good when you need a quick replacement... read more

Long time Costco member, have purchased many tires from this place. Never again. Bridgestone miles warranty means if you don't get the miles stated out of the tire they will credit you when you get another set. I do my regular maintenance, I.e., alignment to make sure the tire warranty stays good, yet this time they refused to honor it. Stated my tires didn't wear evenly. My tires have been the same and replaced multiple times on this vehicle but was told by the staff, "the new manager is strict" and won't approve it. I left, went to Wheel Works and they price matched, aligned and balanced, same day and 4 hours! I did speak the Costco management about this and although nice, still didn't change the outcome for me. That's ok, Wheel Works already said they would honor the warranty in the future. read more

Just for a full set of replacement tires mounted, and also bought a replacement battery for my 2006 BMW 325i. The team at Costco's Danville location were great. As busy as they always seem to be (great prices!), making a reservation was easy and I was in and out in roughly an hour. They also stand by their warranties, as I had a slow leak earlier last year and they replaced it. Took time to get into the queue, since they were fully booked with reservations, but still got to it that same day. read more

I have always been with American tires but my husband convinced me to buy tires from Costco. We have always been happy with Costco services however I must say that this tire shop at Costco is always a long wait time. Not only that but there is only one guy at the counter dealing with all the customers including those that have an appointment. I came here for a scheduled appointment for a tire rotation and was told that the wait time would be an hour a half to two hours. That is ridiculous. This is also on a weekday. And in addition I have an appointment on hand. I cannot wait to be done with these Costco tires, and go back to my usual spot with America's tires, where my wait time is less than an hour for a tire rotation with an appointment. Even on some days at America's tire they can still get me out in less than an hour for a walk in tire rotation. Come on Costco tires, get with it! Hire more people to help with the services! You guys can do better!!!! I also feel like Costco tires priority is to sell tires. It is not to maintain, or rotate these tires. they don't focus on maintenance and rotation. They don't sent out reminders for tire rotation and I feel like if they could avoid tire rotation by all means they would. read more

Had an emergency leak, no appointment. 5 hours until spare is put on and tire ordered. Told it would be 4 days. 4 days, no tire. Told it would be 3 more days. 3 more days no tire. Told it would be 4 more days, no tire. Told it would be three more days, tire arrived. Given a choice of an appointment in another 1 1/2 weeks to put tire on or wait all day with no appointment. Opted for all day. 3 hours later the car goes into the bay. It takes 40 minutes in the bay to change the tire which may indicate a shortage of staff. They have a clock over the bay so you can check how long your car has been in. In sum, because business is booming, and there is a supply chain problem with tires and they are possibly short staffed, they are unable to to provide service in a reasonable time. I gave an extra star because the staff was uniformly courteous and professional. read more

Went here this morning to get my tires replaced. I usually go to America's Tires but there was a deal here. I got there when they opened so I thought it would take 1-1.5 hours like they said. No, it was 2. Then when I got home, I noticed scratches near my gas tank cap!! Tried to rub them out but unsuccessful. I was annoyed at having to wait for so long and now this. I won't be coming back here in the future. The staff is careless and incompetent. I'm sticking with America's Tires. They know what they're doing. read more

This review is in regards to Costco's battery sold at their tire center. Costco offers Interstate brand batteries for cars, boats, RVs, golf carts and lawn mowers. Selection by location may vary. [Note: There are three major automotive starting flooded battery manufacturers in the United States.] Three year warranty for the car battery. You are charge $15 for a battery core fee which you get back in cash once you take back your old battery to them. THEY DO NOT INSTALL BATTERIES. I installed my removed my old battery and installed my new battery right in Costco's parking lot. They even lent me the wrenches. To keep prices low, Costco does not offer a telephone service allowing members to call in for prices or product availability. read more

Definitely a nice perk to have your tires properly inflated here when you shop at costco. Honestly this would be one of my top 2 places to get my tires but last time I tried to get some tires here, they didn't have my size. So I guess you can say this is my alternative spot to get tires. The sales or prices on these tires seem to be pretty good, the sales seem to hit every other month or so which can be a good thing if you need tires. The employees all seem friendly and the ones I've talked to from the counter are pretty quick and informative overall. I'm not sure what happen like in the past 6 months to a year, but if you ask to get your tires inflates, they actually do the inflating which provides good to excellent customer service in my book. read more

Very hard working employee. Under staff and they are trying their best to do their work. My advice is get your appointment ahead of time. I have my share of walk-in waited for almost 3 hours. Never do it again. I went home and did my appointment. Not worth waiting, not doing anything because I can't go anywhere. Please don't go there as walk-in because their fully booked for that day. They will only accommodate first three walk-ins but you have to wait until they finish the appointments for that day. I hope this helps. read more

My experience at the Costco Tire Center has been very good. I think the key is to know what they are and aren't. I really like 'In & Out Burger'! When I go there I get a cheeseburger, fries and a root beer. If I want a steak, chicken or fish they can't help me ... But the burgers are great. Costco can't help me with my alignment or a battery, but they've done a nice job for me on tires for two cars, and really helped me out on road hazard damage to one of my low mileage tires. I had four new tires installed on my wife's Lexus. The first time she drove it she had a full blowout while driving on Norris Canyon Road which is rural and narrow. She was able to keep control and get the car off the road. When I took the blown out tire to Costco it turned out that they had failed to tighten the valve stem properly and that caused the tire to deflate rapidly. Had they been at speed on a freeway the result could have been disasterous. They told me that they would fix it right away but when I called after several hours they had not started on it yet. Am thoroughly disused with their work and their customer service. It is my first and last tire purchase from Costco Tire Center. The savings are not worth it. read more

I prefer Americas Tire in Dublin when it comes to getting new tires over Costco. Costco is only drop in and you take your chances as to how many people are ahead of you. I used my annual rebate check and their $70 off 4 tires deal otherwise I wouldn't go here again. The guys up front were very nice. I don't like not being able to make an appointment as it takes hours out of the day if this place is busy which it was when I came here. $918 for my tires and installation. read more

For over 20 years ago when they first opened their Costco Tire Center in Seattle, Wa, I loved to go there and bought new tires for my vehicles. Their prices were way cheaper and their service was more than excellent. However, they are slowly loosing market share with other competitors recently because their prices are no longer cheaper than other retailers like America's Tire or Bog O tires, etc. On top of that, the team members at the tire center were very rude and ignorance. They act like "I am the boss and you are my ATM machine" like that attitude. Hopefully, they will learn the lesson very hard way in this modern marketing and business environment soon. read more

My Mercedes had a vibration in the tire assemblies. When I went to the tire center, TJ assured me he and the Costco team Would do an excellent job balancing the tire and wheel assemblys. Francisco did The actual balancing of the four tires and wheels. Francisco did an excellent job getting the balancing dialed in. RIMS RUINED AND NEW TIRES NOT EVEN FILLED. Went to Costco thinking they would be professionals to put new tires on my car. Ended up with damaged rims and they didn't even fill the tires nor update my tire computer before handing over my car keys. BEWARE THEY ARE TAKING NO FAULT. After an hour of showing them damage to my rims I try to drive off and the tire was 10 PSI under the amount needed. The guy who was helping us kept changing his mind on what they did. "Oh we filled them, oh I mean we filled the front ones to the back amount, oh well we just need to fill 2" and kept stumbling and contradicting what he was saying to us (mind you if they filled the front tires to the back number they should be over filled not under and shows they didn't notice the front and back are two different tires) This is the sloppiest most unprofessional work and not to mention dangerous to give to your customer to drive home. I forgot to pick up a tire after I asked them to change all 4 tires. The tire was still in good condition, and I had left it with them for 2 days without notice. I showed up 2 days later asking of they still had it. One of the guys had to go in and dig around for about 15 minutes to find it. I went back to tip them but they said it was company policy not to accept tip. So kudos and thank you to these guys. read more

I mean, it might be good for non emergencies if you just need new tires and don't mind not being able to make an appointment and waiting 3+hours to pay the same prices that you can get at America's Tire, then go for it. Otherwise, you'll have to pay upfront for them to order tires which can take up to a week and the. You can't make an appointment when they come in, so you still have to wait forever. No thanks. You can get the same prices, if not better from Americas Tire. They also were totally confused by my spare tire that is stored deflated, but comes with a pump. They didn't know how to inflate it and were positive that it wouldn't be big enough when inflated. When I took it to America's Tire they were shocked that they wouldn't know exactly what to do, as many cars now carry a spare like this. read more

Low rating is strictly based on my recent experience with their rookie tire installation services. I've told the installer that we are heading out of town in two days on a 10 hours drive, and I had my previous set of tires for over 4 years now and they are fairly worn. So, I got my new set of tires installed yesterday, and today, the tire pressure light came on as my wife drove the car to work, wtf! Luckily, we haven't gone on or 10 hours driving trip. Just imagine driving 70 mph in the middle of nowhere and then something happened with those brand new tires. What could we have done in that case? Going back to Costco again today to check the tire pressure. Wish us luck on our upcoming trip . I DO NOT recommend this Costco location for your car tires! read more

My wife took her Ford Fusion Hybrid in for a tire change and they ran into problems with getting the lug nuts out. They worked diligently to make sure that they could get things in and have it fixed and safely get us out of the shop.
