I came to Big O Tires on the recommendation of a friend who has been a customer for years. The Owner, James Hobbs and the staff were on top of it. Before looking at my tire about a possible puncture, he touched base with an older customer outside to make sure he was taken care of. I was quoted 45 mins so I chilled in the waiting room. Seats were set out to promote social distancing. While I waited a couple was informed about their car. The mechanic cracked jokes, was incredibly patient, and even seemed to know them as returning customers. 30 Minutes later and the tire was plugged! I purchased tires elsewhere and called Big-O, as the claim to be a comprehensive tire and mechanical service center. I was quoted $64 over the phone for a mount, balance, and old tire disposal. Upon arriving they would not honor that quote and gave me a price of $120+ for the same service. They claimed the $64 quote was for tires purchased through them. It's clear they're more interested in selling tires than their services. These experiences may vary from store to store as they're independently owned and operated. Wait a second...that screeching sound wasn't there when I brought it in. Needless to say, I made the mistake of coming to this Big O Tires location. WTF was I thinking? I have had good experiences at other locations, so I assumed the same with this one. Now I feel like an a$$. I went in for a tire rotation and balance. I left with neither, but I did get a $950 quote on new work I needed and new loud screeching noise coming from the rear axle. WTF? I took it to my local guy to have him take a look (I should have done this in the first place) and I felt like a fool after I left. My car started making loud noises on the freeway, something was dragging underneath. I got off the freeway and the nearest place was a Big O Tires. It was 5 minutes before closing time on a Friday night. Given my timing, I was afraid I'd get an abrupt "sorry we're closed" response. I explained my dilemma to the first guy I met, Joshua Newberry. Instead, Joshua was friendly and welcomed me. We talked options briefly. He said he was trying to figure out what was the best option for me. He said he'd take a look and offered me a seat in the waiting room and coffee or water. When he returned 10-15 minutes later, he explained the skid plate had come loose and was dragging on the ground so he fixed it and I was good to go. I was so appreciative and asked what I owed. He said nothing but said he was glad he could help. I asked if he was the owner because he spoke with pride about his store and everyone's goal of making the customers happy. He said no, he wasn't the owner but all of them treat their store like they are the owners. I so appreciated Joshua's help and how I was treated. Especially because, as a woman with little knowledge of vehicle repair, I have been taken advantage of many times when car problems arise. It is like a breath of fresh air to come across a service-oriented business and trustworthy staff during a time of need. If I can give this no stars, I would!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!! We bought four new tires from this place 2yrs, and 1 month ago. When they put the tires on, they supposedly did an alignment already and we were told it was fine. The price included tire rotation but because we still have a package deal from where we bought the car, Ford took care of our rotation and alignment for us. A couple months ago, we took the car in to get one of the tire fixed because there was a nail in there. No one informed us of anything. We were told that everything else was fine. They even did a rotation for us. Then this morning, we found another nail in a different tire so my husband took the tire in. We were told that the tires have worn down too thin to fix the tires and that our alignment was off, which is what was eating the treads on the tires. That's funny, just a couple months ago, we were told everything was fine. They gave us a quote for four new tires at double the price we paid for two years ago. Wow, talk about feeling scammed!! What a shady business. There's nothing wrong with our alignment and I only use my car to drive to school three days/week, which is barely a mile away. No way am I buying four new tires every two years at $700/set!! This business is family owned, which is why I gave them my business in the first place. I figure they'd take care of me but nope!! They just want to get money out of me. The owner's excuse is that two months ago, maybe the tires weren't worn down, which is why they didn't notify us.....seriously????? So in just two months, the tires went "bald?" Something doesn't sound right here. In the end, the owner refused to fix the nail in the tire (even though we paid for it when we bought the tires) and only wanted us to buy all new tires from him, as well as pay for an alignment, which Ford said we didn't need!! This sounds just like a scam; refuse to do what you were paid to do, lie about customer's tires, and get them to buy brand new tires that they don't need because they just bought new tires from you two years ago!!! So my 3 year relationship started with these guys with the simple task of getting a new set of all season tires. They ended up having a much larger role in the life of my car and its owner (me). As you can see, they do full auto maintenance. I have certainly used them for that. They have done repairs such as brake rotors and pads, steering system, replaced my windshield wiper motor arm, wheel bearing and have diagnosed numerous ECU lights. I trust them and this location is conveniently 2 blocks north of where I work which is a major plus. Connie is generally behind the counter and is knowledgable and friendly. She knows me by name and takes good care of me. Leif is a great mechanic who is knowledgeable as well and happy to help. He knows me as well and makes me feel like a regular and valued customer. Let me start by saying I used to work at this location 3 years ago... the owner, James... cheap. The only reason I went back is because Bret, the manager was great! But recently, I had my windshield wiper reservoir replaced. Within a week of the work being done, I hear a noise. It was the wheel well liner caught in the wheel. It was never put back on properly and or forgot a few clips... this damaged my fender and needs to to be repaired. When I went in... Bret ended up telling me this is something that needs to be taken up with the owner James. Sooo, James calls me today and tells me is not his fault and he won't pay for my fender to be repaired and then hung up on me... I thought this very unprofessional... especially from the owner of this establishment. Stay away. They do cheap work and will rob you for every penny... again. Big O will never get my business again. I dropped my car off to get my tire patched, due to a nail in the tire. I'd already taken the flat tire off and put on the spare. I have bought tires with them before and they still charged me $25 to patch the tire and didn't tell me until after the work was done that they were going to charge me. I've never once been charged to patch a tire and didn't expect to be charged for the work. They didn't tell me in advance that they were going to be charging, otherwise I would have gone somewhere else. No one else ever charges for this! In addition, they didn't even put the spare tire back in it's spot under the mat in the trunk; they just threw it in the back seat with the jack. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I had all my tires replaced at the big o on I-36 and pecos st! When these "IDIOTS" took the wheels off my truck they proceeded to use my chrome hub-caps as wheel lug trays!! placing the front of the cap on the pavement, scratching the piss out of all 4!! Then when they did the steering alignment they gave it back to me with the steering wheel itself out of alignment and pulling to the left HORRIBLY!!! When I questioned brian, the acting store manager at the time, he told me that it was completely normal for the steering wheel to be that way and as for my "driving issues" he recommended replacing ball joints? I knew then that (BRIAN) had to be one of the most dishonest people I've ever dealt with!! with that I took it to my local firestone and paid to have another alignment done, and WA-LA!!! I recently got a flat tire and luckily Big O Tires was right by me so I slowly wheeled my way into the parking lot. I knew it was time for all four of my tires to be replaced. I had been putting it off due to financial strain but quickly realized I had to suck it up. The staff at this big O tires location was so friendly and helpful. They helped me find all weather tires with a reasonable price and a three-year warrantee that was already included in that price. I was going to get an alignment but Juan was very honest with me and informed me that there was no point in getting an alignment because I had some other issues with ball joints and outer tie rods. I came in with a time sensitive matter and just a small bit of product flexibility. I spent over 25 minutes (by choice) on the phone with James who was kind enough to put the product I was looking for side by side with a product he recommended. It wasn't even your typical salesperson commission based upsell. He truly wanted me to see the warranties between the two products and wanted to make sure that I got the best deal possible. After working with me and assuring he would order the product to be at the store within an hour, he then personally went to the warehouse to grab my four new tires to make sure they would be there when I got off work so that I can have my car within hours. I took my Camry into this Big-O tires because I had a leak in my transition Axel seal. I'm a school admin and school had just started. I need my car fixed fast, cheap and like right now. I took it in and they had it fixed in 24 hours. While they had the car disassembled they found that I also need a wheel hub assembly. When I talked to them, the didn't add any extra labor cost they simply added the cost of the part. As if that wasn't enough, when I got the car back they told me I had a blinker light out and that they fixed it at no extra cost. I only gave them one star, because I couldn't find the half a star. I took my car into Big O for what I thought would be a simple tire repair ( NOT ). They said I would have to replace all four of my tires for the price of $ 650.00. I said I came in to get the damaged one replaced, because it wasn't repairable. They said because of thread depth of 8/32" or 1/4" deep they couldn't replace it because of the make of the vehicle and Acura. So we called Acura and they said with this depth your vehicle shouldn't have any issues with the new tire. There manager Randy ( if this is him name ) tells me that either I replace all four, or move your car from my bay. Before we left I went in to get a business card with there info, I asked for there manager Randy ( And there employee looked at me Dumbfounded ) like whos Randy. Don't trust these people, there DISHONEST and RUDE. Protect your car and your wallet, and really get a second opinion with an honest company. So we took our car to Discount Tires. After checking the tread depth they even said the same as Acura. Because they were honest and respectful and gave me price options, I didn't purchase one but two tires. Your LOSS Big O. **Don't go here, plain and simple** Went in there recently to purchase a set of 4 winter tires. Placed the ordered and went back hours later to have them mount them. Waited 1 hour just to be told they ordered the wrong tires and to come back tomorrow. I got a call the next morning, and was told they had placed the wrong order and that the tires I wanted cost $200 more. In top of that I had to wait for corporate to approve my $600 refund. NO THANKS. Add this to the horrible customer service! They act like this is a government job and I am trying to get some sort of benefit from them. I payed them good money, just to be treated like I was begging them for help. Have in mind I kept my cool (even when I was charged the tire/environmental fee after I told them I wanted to keep my old tires). Sadly, I'm posting a review that's negative so I'll try and keep it short and to the point.. I'm not a " car guy" so I really count on the mechanics! I brought my car in yesterday.. First thing at 8 am to avoid any possible crowds! They had a 39.95 full point inspection oil change, etc. advertised.. and liking that price and the sounds of that service, as well as location, I chose Big O Tires over competitors. Sadly, the service was less than even a below average job. I found myself popping my hood, come to realize all my fluids that were suppose to be " topped off" hadn't been, no rotation of tires, no nothing. I was really counting on the " full point inspection" so I could have an idea of what I need to do to prepare for the next upcoming seasons. When I asked the gentleman who took my payment he said everything was fine.. !! I almost hysterically started laughing. I mean come on, my car is older and has a lot of miles.. now I wasn't looking for someone to nit pick, but to not even give me one thing or something that " could potentially" be a problem and may need some attention is not sitting well with me! I give a one star for " being so quick" to charge my car, but sadly the other four stars will go somewhere else to a place that respects themselves a bit more and at least tries to perform the services they advertise to the fullest.
