They tried to cheat me. Took car in for grinding noise, they diagnosed front brakes, charged me $395, continued to hear noise took it back then said it was the back breaks wanting to charge $495 ($119.18 each time for labor) Could not produce the techncian Joseph Brammer and wanted to take only $50 off. I had taken my cars to them for years, but no more can no longer trust them. They either are liars or very incompetent either way its no way to run a business! The day after my review, big O contacted me and sent me to a third-party company who fixed my rims. The Company did an excellent job and I am happy with their work. I'm glad they "Big O"decided to do the right thing. To be honest if I didn't have to resort to a negative review to resolve this issue I would've left a higher star and a much better review. I would've had a much higher amount of respect. I will say the employees I dealt with were kind and like I said.... After the review they did the right thing so kudos to them. read more

Went for an oil change on my mitsubishi galant. Waited an hour for them to put on the wrong oil filter and they cross threaded my oil plug.

I went in with an appointment to have tire rotation and brake inspection and waiting on it. after inspection they tell me what's wrong I say fix it. a few hrs later I see my car out shop, so I asked and they said tires was done but wasn't starting my repair till 430 so I left. As I looked around at tires the next day and noticed they didnt even rotate tires like I asked. the reason I know they didn't is bc of a imperfection on one tire and it's still where it started! read more

Called & was told $34.95 for the "standard" oil change for a 2011 Ford Fusion, "but if the manufacturer calls for a different oil, we have to use that", which sounded flaky to me, but when we got there I was told it was our decision since the car was well past the warranty period. Makes sense. We were in & out quick enough & it was $40 & change WITH the $5 Yelp check in coupon/discount. All those pesky little fees & taxes add up & would be good to hear about them when quoting what it actually costs. I know, I know, everybody does it but still... People were friendly, work seemed professional, price was reasonable. All in all a positive 4 star experience. A little less confusion & up front, out the door pricing would have earned that elusive 5th Star. read more

Paul let us know he could fix our car that drove, yet had an issue with overheating even though we had just had the water pump replaced. All it would require was replacing a leaky heater hose and a little coolant for $140. This is a great way to get a customer to come back.... the only thing was, he did that to find the harmonic balancer was also broken. Let us know he could get us back on the road with no leaks or overheating, including previous work and tax for $665. Over our budget for a car from the 90's, but agreed that if Paul could get us in working condition with no leaks, we'd pay that amount. The next day Paul calls again with another oops, didn't find this initially, claiming the car won't run at all because an ac compressor would also need to be replaced. The car actually ran before we took it there, now because of not fully diagnosing the situation or honoring our agreement to get us running well without leaks... now they want another $700. We let them know that wasn't our agreement and that we would still pay the $665 to get us in our agreed condition or they could go the route of bypassing the compressor on them. This would have left us without ac each summer, but we would have been willing to meet them half way for their work and parts at the agreed $665 even if it meant losing our ac, just to be able to drive without leaks and or overheating. Paul gets his boss (James Roger Blevins), who wants the money regardless of meeting their end of the agreement, tells me to shut up and listen... which leads to him telling me to come fight him in his back office. I'm no clown, so the clown party invitation didn't get James a friend or a fight. Needless to say, James and big o tires on fegenbush are trash. read more

Went in for a set of tires one week after replacing front brake pads myself. They told me that my front brake pads were worn and I needed a new set of front brakes. I confronted them on it and they asked me if I ride my brakes. Really!?! These jackasses thought I was ignorant enough to believe that brake pads could wear down within a week simply from riding my brakes. And I don't ride my breaks! In fact I had not even put 100 miles on the new brake pads. Then they asked me if I wanted a quote on new brakes. Be aware of them attempting to up-sale anything they can even if that means being deceptive. Big-O has becomes as sleazy as most other tire and mechanic shops. read more

I have been using Big O Tires for all my car maintenance for the past few years for a few reasons. First and foremost, it is near my house, like less than a mile from my house. Second, they almost always have pretty decent deals for tires with visa card rebates, oil changes and regular tune ups. (All those things can be found on their website) Third, they are actually pretty helpful and listen to what your needs are and never seem to overcharge. All those things being said, I was kind of disappointed this last time I went. Typically, an oil change and tire rotation (if you purchased your tires there, you get free rotation for the life of the tires) takes about 30 minutes. Not too shabby in my opinion. This time was not 30 minutes. There were less people than normal, yet it took almost 1.5 hours to change my oil and rotate my tires. I mean, after my car's oil was changed, it sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes to rotate my tires while employees were joking around with each other and smoking. I am sure that my opinion this time around is a little jaded because they didn't have any popcorn for me to snack on like they typically do and the water for the coffee was out while there was still almost 2 hours til closing time. So, it was not like I was cutting it short with time. Plus, and I know this is not their fault, but it still grossed me out, there was a customer there that literally, was walking around WITHOUT SHOES ON. FOR AN HOUR. I mean, I didn't even see shoes near her for the hour I was there in the communal space with her. Sure, this is no fault of their own, but couldn't you have said, "yo, you are an adult woman, but some shoes on in our place of business." The saving grace of this visit for me was the fact they offer 5$ off any service if you check in on Yelp, Facebook or another social app. I checked in, got my 5$ off and was gifted a tire pressure gage, which I actually needed. I am still going to continue to go to Big O Tires in Fern Creek for the three reasons I listed above, but in the future, I will be checking if everyone wears shoes. read more
