When I checked with my son he said that didn't right, and when he looked at them, one was worn down to the metal. 1000% do not recommend this location. Went in to get a simple alignment, they ended up breaking a part which I understand happens but seemed unnecessary because he was using a pipe wrench. They eventually ended up accepting paying for the part after I spoke with a manager about the situation. Then had to wait till the next day to get my car, when I went to start my car the battery was dead. I was then informed that the technician doing my alignment killed my battery because he left the key on during the alignment. I am always a customer of Steve's at the Big O Tire in Eldorado hills , I called about brakes on my wife's car they quoted her when I was gone in Somalia deployed told my wife it would be 1300 bucks for fronts and backs, never paid that much before so instead of taking it to the closer big O tire in Placerville was a huge mistake after the manager Gam told me the price I called Steve at the big Or Tire in Eldorado hills and he got me for new brake pads and rotors all for 627. Don't get me wrong customer service is great at placer big O and Gam is great but whoever wrote that quote was trying to take advantage little blonde lady. Go to the Eldorado hills big O they care about your wallet and safety been going to them since I moved here never a bad experience and always cheaper then places like this one where they up charge females. read more

I don't often write reviews but had to after my experience with this business. I brought my car in for an oil change and to check a steering wobble issue. Was told I needed $2500 worth of front end work. Sounded suspicious so I told them not to do the work and then took my car to another shop with much better reviews. I specifically asked the second shop to look at the issues brought up by Big O and they said they all look fine. The second shop told me my front right tire was split and that was the problem. I had the tires replaced and my car steering issue is solved. Please don't use this Big O, they really are dishonest. read more

Went here to purchase new tires. made appointment for 2pm. my truck didn't get moved until 4:30 after service manager called me while i was in the lobby and ask if i actually needed my tires installed that day. watch tech who was working on my truck go the the gas station next door 4 times while taking the tires off. truck wasn't finished until 5:30. left yelp review and owner called me trying to make it right with an oil change if i took my original review down. Decided to try them again for tire rotation of new tires and alignment. had them rebalance my tires and ended up with 5 and a halve ounces on one tire and 4 and a halve on another. old tires that were installed only had 1-2 and a halve ounces. talked to owner (Darren) and he just told me it was my wheel. not on their end. my wheels were fine on the old tires. not weight problems with them. 10 out of 10 do not go here. especially if your a female. I'm a mechanic and the things they tell people about there cars is wrong just to sell parts. read more

A flat repair turned into a a several hundred dollar ordeal because they broke some bolts on our car and wouldn't own up to it being their fault. Run away, do not take your car here. First, a BIG Thank You to Jeff and the crew at the Placerville Big O Tires! I'm an off-roader and was on my way to meet a group to travel the famous Rubicon Trail. I had some significant work done on my Jeep before the trip. The mechanic I have been using in Los Angeles must've had a bad day because I had some serious mechanical issues. On the drive up I had a steering failure. Fortunately, I was able to manage a temporary roadside repair and got to Placerville. I tried three shops. They were all nice people but were too busy to look at my Jeep. Then I landed at Big O Tires in Placerville. Jeff and the crew took a look and, although they are not off-road suspension specialists, they are good mechanics, and they didn't give up. They got me put back together and an alignment and salvaged my trip! They fit me in and made it safe for me to continue on to meet my group on the Rubicon. When it was time for the bill I was pleasantly surprised. Given the time they spent figuring things out I was expecting more! On the way down the mountain after the Rubicon run I started having more issues, this time related to the brakes. I was able to limp it down the mountain and back to Big O Tires in Placerville. On a Saturday, Jeff and the crew AGAIN found some serious problems stemming from previous work done by another shop. They spent a lot of time figuring out the issues and were ultimately able to make it safe for the 440 mile drive home. Took my truck back in 3 more times to get it done correctly thru the warranty and they made excuses, telling me the tires were known balancing issues, then claimed 3 out of 4 rims on the truck were bent, but never mentioned this when they initially installed and balanced the tires. After the 4th attempt, I took the truck to a local place in town and the techs there laughed at the improfessional work done to attempt to balance the tires. Don't go here. read more

If you want your new tires to pull to the right. and your new brakes to squeal worse then when you came in... THIS IS YOUR PLACE!! My car drove perfectly straight when I came in but I needed new tires and brakes. After leaving, my car pulled hard to the right and my brakes squealed more then when I brought them in. After 3 return visits, they told me the pulling to the right was the transmission(?) and the squealing was normal. They replaced the brake pads once which didn't help the squealing, and the car stilled pulled to the right. ( they did an alignment test and said it wasn't off enough to do an alignment) 3 months in now and no improvement on squealing or pulling. The Manager text me to see how the car was and I told him the brakes are still squealing and car still puling to the right. I have never heard from him since. I don't have time to leave my car for several hours every visit as I use it for for my job. Lesson learned, this Big O is another big corporate operation that only cares about bottom dollar and not the customer. I got here at 11:45AM today 11/3/20 and talked to the MANAGER about getting my truck in for an alignment. He told me he could fit it in and have it done if I left my truck for an hour and a half to two hours. I went about my buisness walked around and burnt 3 hours of time and came back to find my truck just sitting on the lift with no one around it. I asked what the progress was and the manager came out and side I guess your tundra is to long for the lift and told his guy to just get the wheel balance done and forget about the alignment and didn't even consult me. Then he walked away and was no where to be found. I waisted half of my day sitting waiting for someone to realize they couldn't align a common production truck that I explained to them clearly what it needed. So after waisting those hours I told him he should probably figure out how to know his job description and what vehicles he can and cannot work on. I went to Toyota and they got me in the schedule. I have been a customer of this location for MANY years. Ownership changed some time ago. At first it was fine. Now the service is subpar. I can agree with what others have written about the rude manager. I will spare readers the details. I grudgingly took my car in today because I bought my current tires there and it was free rotation time. When I drove away, I noticed the steering wheel was greasy. In my decades of receiving car service, this is a first. I had to go home and clean the steering wheel AND my hands before running the rest of my errands. On Saturday, on my way to Placerville from Davis, I was hauling a trailer and blew a tire on the freeway. I pulled off at the nearest exit and stopped into a large thrift store and asked where the nearest service station was for a blown tire. The clerk suggested Big O Tires on Placerville Rd. Thankfully, I was only 2 exits from there. I drove in and was met by Steve Smith, the Assistant Manager. He quickly looked to see if they had a replacement tire, but they didn't. He suggested I try Tractor Supply. I called and they didn't have one. They suggested True Value Hardware, and they did!! I asked Steve if I could detach the trailer to drive to pick up the tire and have him replace it for me when I returned, and he was more than happy to help. When I returned with the tire, he had already moved the trailer to a better location so he could replace the tire. Within 10 minutes, the tire was replaced and we were on our way. I INSISTED on paying for the service, and he would have nothing of it!! I only lost 45 minutes of our trip, and Steve made what could have been a LONG and frustrating experience pleasant. I live in Placerville and normally would make the venture down to Sacramento for my vehicles maintenance. I needed 4 tires and an alignment so I looked on Groupon and found 2 good vouchers. One for a $100 gift card for $49, the other for $47 all wheel alignment. I called the store this morning and was told that I could use gift card for tires and do alignment offer separately so I could use both offers. After talking with the store I went and bought the vouchers from Groupon. Upon arrival at the store the man at the counter scanned the vouchers then told me they don't work there. Even though the vouchers had their address on them. He said that previous owner had placed the vouchers and they would not honor them. Congrats Big O Tires! You have lost a potential customer and earned less than a 1 Star if it existed. read more

I called them to see if they were able to take me in one day after getting off of work early. They said they had an appointment in the afternoon and I was able to take my car in there at that time. The guys at the front desk were super friendly and let me use the $10 off coupon for oil change found here in yelp. After the servicing was done, the guy told me that I needed to get my tires aligned on the passenger side. I informed them that they can do it then but because it was already so late in the evening, they told me they would not be able to do it that day but can do it for HALF the price the next day. I definitely agreed to that and was able to come in the next day and get my tires aligned before work and they kept their promise of it only being Half off to complete the Job. I first went to goodyear tire in shingle springs, they no longer do motorhomes. Next went down the road to big o tires in cameron park. The associate was rude and stated that he would not reinstall the 'bs' cat eyes on the tires after replacement. My friend said let me call big o in placerville. Jeff was accommodating and helped pick out the appropriate tires for the motorhome. When they installed them, they put the cat eyes back on without a fuss. I bought a set of boat trailer tires at the Cameron Park shop and had a blowout the very next day. When I called Big O to let them know, they told me that since I had not bought the "warranty" I was SOL. Really?!?! I literally only had about 10 miles on that tire. It was only after I beat them soundly about the head and shoulders that they finally agreed to replace the tire. But it wasn't easy - I had to leave my boat on the side of the road and drive about 40 miles to get it done. Will never go back. read more

We are all human so Mistakes happen but doing what's right made What could have easily been a bad experience resulting in a 1 star review into a good experience. Long story short- Bought 4 tires for teenage daughters truck. Within ~30 miles of leaving Big O she pulled over on the side of the highway to find one of the brand new tires flat. Called Big O, explained the situation and that we were concerned about our teenage daughter alone on side of the highway and that Big O would be closing soon. They immediately sent an employee to meet my daughter on the side of the road and put the spare on. She followed them back to the shop, had the issue with the tire resolved (turned out to be a valve stem issue) and her back on the road within an hour. Apparently service calls to put on spares is not typically a service they provide and they could have easily told us to call for a tow but given the circumstances they stepped up, did what was right and had her back on the road safely and quickly. Thank you to the employees for making what could have easily been a bad experience a good one by doing the right thing. read more

Dropped my truck to get a nail taken out of the tire. They informed me that it was too close to the sidewall and they couldn't fix it. The person who called us back said that they have the EXACT same tire in stock. When I pull up to pick up my truck, the first thing I noticed is that it was not the exact same Falken tire, but a Big O brand knock off. We had to wait extra time for them to put my tire with the nail in it back on. We had plans to be somewhere at a certain time and this inconvenience really threw a wrench in our plans. Nowhere on the invoice did it say the damaged tire was removed from the rim, then re mounted. Pathetic way to cover their butts.We just moved in to Placerville from Shingle Springs and we started taking both of our vehicles here. We will never go back. Response to owners reply. I just listened to the voicemail and he did say that he has the same Tire in stock and did not say anything about saying size. I had an appointment today, the parking lot was crazy busy. 3 cars were trying to pull out at once and there was one small parking spot in the middle of a bunch of cars, I was not willing to risk hitting other cars and my car especially with my baby in the car. I don't know what all of the bad reviews are about. We had a great experience with the team here. My wife's Tesla needed to have the tires replaced before she headed back to Monterey and they were able to get us replacements pretty quickly. Josh was extremely responsive and helpful. Most of the reviews that I have read have either been bad because they didn't get served immediately or didn't realize that tires actually cost money. They aren't a warehouse.....they need to order your tires people! Cut them some slack. read more
