Update: spoke to the owner today. The owner was NOT RUDE but still disappointed with the result of the conversation. The tire protection plan doesn't protect against much and will cost you an extra $200 dollars if you bought four new tires like I did. Asked for that refunded but the owner kinda glossed over that fact. Guess he did not think I was serious. I will try my luck with corporate I guess. I increase the rating by one star because it's obvious owner cares about their reviews and took the time to call me personally. People come to establishments like this because it offers more "protections" than your average tire shop. (It's common knowledge prices at these shops are much cheaper but lack any type of warranties.) His reasoning for my tire balding so fast was because bigger tires just bald faster and I should had alignment and 4 tire rotations all within 6 months?? (NOTE: THE OWNER is a NICE GUY I'm not saying he ignorant just misinformed. This just goes to show you how corporate all these businesses are. The have their tailored response for everything, this is an American problem you gotta protect corporate dollars right??) I had my oil change 3 times which in each case the tires where also rotated and I already had my alignment done. The tire tread was the same all over so this couldn't be true. My family members drive way more miles and drive bigger vehicles with even bigger tires (SUV & TRUCKS). So with that logic, everyone in my family should buy new tires ever 3 months than?? Nonetheless, I been buying tires all my life and the tire tread has never been completely bald within 6 months. At the time of inspection, (at Big O Tires) it was confirm that I did not even go over the manufacture warranty 45,000 miles rather less than half. The tire shop I went to explain exactly what happen and I was hoping that owner would come to the same conclusion. Hoping corporate or the owner can at least refund me the tire protection plan I purchase. I loved big o tires before this but it disappointing that I will be taking my business else-where, unless someone can make this right. I'm not asking for much but just to be refund the tire protection plan! Original Review: I'm very disappointed and disheartened by the customer service I received from Big O Tires, but I'm hoping this review will inspire the owner to resolve the issue. On November 3rd, 2022, I went into Big O Tire regarding new tires I purchased in April 2022. The tire tread was nearly gone and in all my life of buying tires the tread has never disappeared so fast. These are NEW TIRES! Furthermore, I purchased the warranty with Big O Tire not to mention the warranty that comes with each tire. I don't want to post the names of employees online, but a lady in the front "helped me". Her "excuse" for my tires balding so quickly was that within the last 6 months of me owning new tires I should have rotated the tires about 5 times and gotten alignment. (Hopefully, I don't have to explain to the audience how insane a response this is.) To make matters worse she didn't even give me a chance to talk to the owner, just was basically told good luck try calling the corporate office. But it wouldn't be a tire shop without her trying to upsell. She stated she could prorate new tires for another $1000. So every 6 months I gotta pay $1000 for new tires???? Nonetheless, I talked to other tire shops in the area and they told me why this could happen, but I am not trying to accuse anyone of anything. I went to the store on McClintock and elliot this morning and pulled up by the bays. One of the employees asked me what I needed, i said I would like to get an oil change. Mind you all they bays were empty and no vehicles in sight it was a ghost town. He told me I needed to park on side of building and go inside. I said that's fine but can't I leave the car here and just walk inside.. Another employee walks over arms crossed and says no you need to go park over on the side of the bullilding. Mind you this is the first time I've ever gone to big o tires. I assure you I will never go to big o ever after that. The employees were too concerned about being hard asses then offering good customer service. No wonder it was completely empty. Then to top it off I go inside and talk to the guy inside and say hey how long for an oil change he tells me an hour and a half.... I said there is nobody here.... It's gonna take an hour and half? I've never had an oil change take longer than 30 minutes. At that point I knew it was time to go. My experience with BIG O Tires was really good! The store in Tempe Arizona was extremely helpful and went out of there way to help me get on the road safely. The only reason this is a four star review is because a different BIG O Tires didn't provide the same experience. I bought tires at store one. 3 days later one of the tires is extremely low (16 psi/32.5). I stop by store two to resolve the problem and was instructed to lie to store one ask for the extended coverage "saying I changed my mind" and then return a day or so later for them to resolve the problem. Oh by the way all store 2 did was refill the air. Went back to store one and felt uncomfortable lying about my problem, however that was a good thing because the issue was a malfunctioning air valve on the tire which was fixed in under ten minutes at no cost. read more

I drove to Big O Tires to have my brakes repaired, and they recommended I replace the brake pads, rotors, lower control arms and have the brake fluid and battery changed. That would be a cost of over $2000. It is an old car with over 162,000 miles on it; putting $900 into repairs is okay, over $2000 probably not. I opted for the brake pads and rotors so I could have a car that drives around town safely. They said great. Then, when I arrived to pick up the car, they informed me, as I'm paying my bill, that the car is unsafe to drive. In fact, I could not even drive it home safely. I just put down $913 and the car isn't safe or driveable! They said,"Well, we recommended you fix the control arms, change the brake fluid and change the battery, too." Yes, they had recommended that, but they never informed me that without repairing the lower arms, the car would not be safe to drive. If they had told me this at the beginning, then I wouldn't have had the brake pads or rotors done. I wouldn't have repaired the car at all. I would have bought a new one. Kind of late, after $900 worth of repairs. This was sneaky and dishonest. The manager then explained, I should have taken all their recommendations. These were recommendations.- not changing the battery and the brake fluid were also recommendations. One of the doors doesn't open either. They could have recommended that I fix that , too, but these, in my layman's understanding, do not contribute to making the van "undriveable" or "unsafe." Big O Tires should be ashamed of hiring employees who stoop to bait and switch dishonesty and treat customers like their personal wallets. read more

Came into this location on Monday, June 12 after i got off work and spoke to Krystal about getting a pressure test done so that I could pinpoint a coolant leak. Sat for over an hour waiting for them to run the test, whatever that entailed - fine and dandy. We find the leak in my system and Krystal walks me through the breakdown of what they intend to charge me should i choose to get my repairs done at this store. After paying $70 for the initial test, she lays it on me - $200 hose ok, $200 for labor, $150 for some other odds and ends. So, i tell her i wont get the work done that day. She tried to apply pressure but i said what i said and that's final. I go home and do my own research of course and just started shopping around seeing if i could get it done for anything less ...After I found the hose that it turned out i don't even need it was only $35 so at that moment i knew she was trying to get over and the crappy mechanics they hire of course are in cahoots right with her. Called a private mechanic located here in Tempe the next day while i was at work and he quoted me around $300 for parts and labor. So, I go and see him as soon as i get off of work, give him what big o gave to me the day before and let him get under the hood and take a look, so he'll know what needs to be ordered and done. He comes to me after about 10 minutes to tell me that he pressure tested it himself and my lower heater hose does NOT have a leak AT ALL I just needed a CLAMP put on the hose at the outlet of my coolant reservoir. A simple clamp. He threw it on there, topped off my coolant, and i was on my way in no time. I wouldn't call on Big O again even if my car broke down in their parking lot. LOL read more

This Big O Tires is Horrible!! Bought New Tires and Rims was told like it has always been in the past Free installation with purchase. I was charged $761.84 to install a set of tires. Why... What for? you just felt I was someone you could take advantage of. Will never go here again and what's sad been going here for 15 plus years. Last Saturday I was out in search of new tires...I came across a banner on Elliot rd. Indicating easy credit. I stopped by and was greeted by Brooke Gilsdorf she was very helpful, understanding and informative. She helped me get the perfect set of Michelins for my Maxima and I learned a lot more about tires. I never felt pressured or as if I was trying to get sold something I didn't need. It's been a week of driving and Brooke was right I am very happy with her recommendation. I came here to get a set of tires, they mentioned my alignment was off in the front and needed to be adjusted. I agreed to get it adjusted. Note-I could drive JUST FINE BEFORE! Zero pull, no play in the steering wheel-nothing. Immediately after leaving the lot I had to hold my steering wheel to the hard left and had such hard play it was unreal! Very disappointed. They broke my glovebox and took hours to do an oil change. I called and went back and they admitted breaking it and then took another 1/2 hour to "fix it" then brought my car around with the glovebox closed and said it was fixed. Deceptive practices and a longer than normal wait time. They let you schedule an appointment online but when you arrive, they say they are having trouble with their scheduling system - a call would have been nice. They said they repaired a tire, took it to another shop to discover that was a lie. They said they only had particular new tires in stock - also a lie. I went to my dealership for maintenance and they quoted me over $2,000 for maintenance cost, new tires, filters, ect.... I went to big O tire and I paid under $1000 for everything! The staff was so kind and helpful! Not even 3 days later my battery died and I went to autozone for a new battery and then 3 days later my car wouldn't start. I took it to Big O tire and it turns out the person who installed my battery didn't install it tight enough. My visit took less than 15 minutes and they didn't even charge me for it. I can't tell you how thankful I am for the staff. I highly recommend this location. I hope the staff gets recognized for their professionalism and kindness, they deserve it. I'll be short & sweet.... Called on a Saturday, said I needed a specific tire. I was told it needed to be put on a truck and would be there on Sunday. Most of Sunday went by without a call, I was told the warehouse screwed up & it would be there later that evening, no call. Didn't have a car Monday. Called again on Monday, was told the warehouse screwed up again & it would be on the later truck. Got a call at 5:50pm saying the tire was there, got halfway to the location, got another call saying it was the wrong tire & it was "stickered wrong". Didn't have a car Tuesday. Called Discount Tire down the road & they got me a tire that afternoon from a different store. Still haven't received a call from Big-O making me feel like they never even ordered the tire in the first place. Not once did anyone at this location seem apologetic or act like they even cared. This is probably one of the best big O tire places in The Valley this is my 3rd time coming here it's going in. And the reason that is, is because the great customer service. Not only is the waiting room full of snacks and water but its clean and A/c blowing cold. Also while I waited I recieved a video from the mechanic showing me my breaks, tires, shocks, coolant levels, powersteering fluid and oil pan. Which is just a few things they showed me. Allowed me to feel confident and shows how honest they are not trying to empty your pockets. Big ups to the manager Brooke who's seems to always be there and is a great help.... The staff at this location is wonderful. I had a nail in my tired from the freeway construction and needed a patch. I went to the location by my house in Mesa, and they turned me away without so much as even looking, simply told me they didn't have time and to try another place (they were still open for 3 hour at this point). I decided to drive my car, nail and all, to work. 1/2 mile away was this Big O location so I stopped in. They were so nice and apologetic for how the staff at the other location treated me and offered to look over all 4 tires and check the air.
