I just paid $800 for a set of tires. When I got to my car, the tires had 4 different tire pressures, ranging from 30psi to 40 psi (36 psi is the standard cold presseure). I was told "Certain vehicles need to be driven for the sensors to read right". This is a bullshit excuse, to cover up the mechanics inability to read a tire guage. 45 minutes of driving later, I still have 4 different tire pressures, which I will have to correct myself. Don't waste your time, or money here, there are many other tire companies around Denver. read more

I have sadly been here several times over the last few months. I was extremely pleased at first because the front staff are very nice and warm and welcoming, that is the shop only redeeming quality, the front staff. The mechanic is clearly awful here and I know because I am a woman that I have been treated as a moron. A few silly remarks were made towards me over my time there, where the male staff talked to me like an infant, but I let those go, until I spent over $1,200 in repairs on my car to which I was then told, oh yeah you'll need to replace your brakes in a few weeks too, they are really bad. I didn't believe it since the car was just purchased and there were zero sounds coming from my brakes when I brought it in but somehow magically were squealing like mad when I got it back. I took it to a second opinion and I was told my brakes were BRAND NEW, spotless and perfect. I was then told when Big O adjusted my axels a screw was removed from my tire and must have been lost because it was replaced with a new screw that was clearly WAY too big to be put on my tire and that was what was scrapping on my wheel causing that nasty noise. The new mechanic asked for nothing but parts and sent me on my way. My car is now doing lovely. So I just want to give the warning to anyone looking at reviews, if you are a woman. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I still wonder to myself how much of that $1,200 bill was BS I didn't need to spend. read more

I've been a Big O customer for 10 years and I've had pretty good service for all of those years. I purchased my Subaru Legacy in 2015 and needed tires about a year after. Due to previous great experience, I purchased high-end tires from Big O on Federal Blvd. - costing me approximately $700 which I was happy to pay due to the 3-year warranty and highly rated, safe Big O Euro Tour tires that would last me 80K miles. I drive a lot and I want my car to last, so I'm happy to spend more on quality tires that will LAST. A little over a year and a half later and approximately 25K miles, I ended up with a flat at my work. I was able to make it to the nearest Les Schwab store in Commerce City and they advised me that I had a weather wearing on the outer edge of my tire and it was not repairable. They put on my spare tire and advised me to call Big O to see if I was under warranty (I appreciated the advice on this). I called the store that I purchased the tires from and they advised I was indeed under warranty, so I made an appointment at the Lakewood/Union Blvd. store to get my tire/s replaced. I spent 45 minutes at the store, just to be told that my tires were discontinued and there was next to nothing they could do about it. They put an announcement to the 500 stores in Colorado to get any leftover Euro Tour tires available so we could just replace the damaged tire with one leftover at another store (I do appreciate they did that). I called and followed up for 3 days and visited the Thornton store near my work to get a second opinion. I've used this store for all oil changes and recently spent $1,000 for new brakes, so I knew they've worked with me. This store said there was essentially no other option but to purchase the newer version of the tires. I would get the ONE tire free under warranty and spend $550 for the other three. I was so frustrated. It doesn't seem that I should be at fault for purchasing discontinued tires with one prone to weather wearing. I asked if there was any other option or any policy for customers who purchase discontinued tires under warranty and I was told there was not. (Big O, I think you might need to consider updating your policies to include something for customers that find themselves in this predicament.) Needless to say, I left in tears because I'm extremely frustrated to potentially pay over $1,200 on tires in less than two years. Once I got to my car, I followed up again with the Union Blvd. store and they did give me a pretty good discount on 4 tires. However, I'm still likely to spend $400, which still seems unfair considering I just spent $700 on tires less than two years ago and nearly $1,500 on other services in the past year. I will be getting new tires with Big O on Union under this discount, but I will not be utilizing their services going forward. The 3-year/80K warranty was not very useful to me as I am still paying well over $1,100 in tires under the timeframe/mileage usage of the warranty. I'm disappointed that my frequent visits and loyalty over the past 10+ years didn't help save me any money on a repair that I couldn't avoid. read more

Stopped by at 4:30 to get an oil change. I waited 15 mins to be told that they had a car in front of me and "couldn't get me in". I needed tires as well, but didn't bring that up. My guess is they would have made some time to sell me those, but I'll pass. I need to man up and learn to change my own oil. read more

They cause $300 worth of damage, and refused to compensate me. I brought my truck in to have an axle seal replaced, and was told it would be done that day, or by the next morning. Four days later, after receiving no phone calls I got ahold of someone and was told that the vehicle (an older truck) would not start. I went to the shop, and discovered that the vehicle had been left in the bay for 4 days with the ignition in the 'on' position. I had told them on the phone that it was likely the battery based upon the description of the symptoms. I was told by the shop manager that they suspected engine compression. I told the shop manager that I had just checked the timing and compression which was on the money at 115-128 PSI. I went to the shop, and indeed the battery was dead. Additionally the key was jammed into the ignition cylinder upside down, and cock eyed, and left in the on position. I showed this to the manager, who said nothing and simply walked back to his office. I asked the mechanic to leave the battery on a trickle charger over night, and I would pick it up in the morning. I returned right as the shop opened in the morning, and the battery charger was not hooked up to my vehicle. I pulled the battery (2 months old), walked to the auto parts store and had it tested. It was dead. I purchased a new battery, went back to M & O, and took my truck home. The ignition was damaged and I was out the cost of a new battery. I filed a complaint with the national MO customer service line, and was told that they do not assist customers since each of these shops is a franchise. So essentially the MO sign on the building means nothing from a customer service perspective. After 6 weeks of back and forth, I was not offered the cost of parts and repairs that were caused by the 'mechanics' at the shop, and was offered a new battery, which I had already purchased and was 6 weeks old at that point. No resolution beyond that was offered. I'm sure MO can change a tire, but I would caution anyone not to use them for anything beyond that. If a master mechanic can't even put a key into in an ignition, that is a red flag. read more

I had a slow leak and found a nail in my tire (6 mo old yokohama), so I took it to Big O at 104th & Colorado. They didn't take the tire off the car - just marked the nail and told me it was unrepairable as it was in the side wall. It was not in the side wall, it was on the tread near the outside of the tire. So I took it to another tire shop where they took the nail out and repaired it - and also found a drywall screw in the center of the same tire and fixed that too. I called to let them know and the man said, 'okay'. read more

I wanted to explain the contrasting difference of service that I received at 2 different Big O Tires locations. Location 1 - 690 E. 120th Ave: I called this location to inquire about the tire rotation service since I recently purchased new tires from that very location previously. I was told that they are first come, first serve, and that they open at 7 AM. The next day, I got there at precisely 7:15 AM and walked in. It took about 5 - 10 mins for any of the 3 men up front; doing nothing, to even acknowledge me, and ask if I needed any help. I was finally addressed by the store manager, and I explained what I was there for. He then asked if I called prior to coming in, and I told him, that I called yesterday.....but was then interrupted by him asking "if I called today?". I told him, no, and that I called yesterday...and then I was interrupted again with him saying "Well you aren't in line today." I then attempted to understand what the "first come, first serve" meant, and what they meant by "calling" in prior to a tire rotation service, if this is something that isn't normally scheduled. (According the tech I spoke with on the phone a day before). They told me that I could leave, then call, then bring in my car in, and wait 2 hours, or leave the car with them and they will call me when ready, but it would be longer than 2 hours. Not the treatment, behavior, nor professionalism I expected. I left and will never come back to this location, and spreading the word! Location 2 - 3740 E. 104th Ave - (Fast forward a few weeks) I get to this location before 7 AM since I did not want to run into the same situation that I did at Location 1. Doors were open as early as I arrived and Cameron Smith greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I was able to quickly chat with him on what service I needed, and he got it promptly taken care of. The professionalism, expertise, comfy atmosphere, and friendly staff not only made it a good and trusting experience, but a learning one. I cannot remember one of the other gentleman's name, but kudos to Cameron Smith and Christopher Nelson, and the rest of the team by making this a great and comfortable experience! It was literally a difference between night and day at these Big O Tires locations. So, thank you Big O Tires @ 104th! Keep up the great work! read more

Under new ownership since August, the gentleman who helped me (Mike I believe) was quick and thorough. He showed me the issue with my tire, and after stating that it was unrepairable he warrantied the tire and replaced with a brand new one (they are Big O brand). Oh, boy, this is a one star review I don't want to have to give. But, I learned an expensive lesson taking my car here in more ways than one. I have an older Jeep Cherokee which was my primary car for almost 15 years and is now in the process of being handed down to my teenage daughter. I brought it in to have some brake work done as well as to get an estimate for new shocks. Ron, the manager on duty who checked me in, offered to do a 22-point inspection as I mentioned this was going to my teen and he understood I wanted to ensure the car was safe and ready to go for her. We dropped off around 9am on a Saturday, and they called me early in the afternoon with a status. Not only did I need brake work, but he also diagnosed a 'death wobble' not uncommon in Jeeps and recommended some heavy-duty work on the power steering and stability: new track bar, potentially a new gear box, and work on the power steering column. Total damage on the bill: $1400 with shocks and an oil change. Okay, this is stressful, but I knew the work needed to be done, and we had planned for this, so let's go ahead and start the work. Normally, I would have called my usual mechanic for this, but I wasn't sure if they did brake or steering work, and they weren't open on Saturdays anyways. They finished the work on a Wednesday evening, and we picked up the Jeep the next day with our wallets $1485 lighter. Pulling out of the shop, I noticed the steering felt loose, but attributed it to the work and the fact that they had replaced the power steering fluid. Everything was great until I made a left turn on to the road to my house, which was about a quarter mile from the shop. The steering wheel began to slip - not like just felt loose but literally began to shift left, to the point where in order to keep my wheels straight, the Jeep logo on the wheel itself was completely vertical. And then, the shakes started - almost like the alignment was off, but more like the wheels were going to fall off! I was in my subdivision at that point, so I pulled over, parked the car and immediately called the shop. Eddie understood my concerns and wanted to see the Jeep again as soon as possible. We parked the Jeep (nobody is currently driving it daily) and offered to bring it back in that weekend. We dropped the Jeep off again this past Saturday, and they had it in the shop until almost 5pm. When I called the shop (as nobody had called me back by then), Eddie informed me that 'the bolts were rusted bad, so we replaced them but they weren't tight' and offered that this was the reason the steering slipped. They tightened the bolts and added lock-tight to prevent slippage, and then took the car for a drive to make sure everything was fine. Granted, this time, the work was on Big O's dime, so if there's a silver lining, we have this. And the Jeep was definitely back to drivable and normal. Here's where I'm really stuck - in theory, it was a decent experience, they did the work they were asked, at the price I would have expected for the work done, and they fixed a problem which they admitted may have been on them without costing me anything. But, I can't give them a good rating: You had the car for several days, and at no point did anyone confirm the bolts were staying tight? Did anyone even think to take the car out for a drive prior to signing off that the work was done? And what if it had been my daughter driving the Jeep home that night when the steering came loose? Big O is acceptable for basic stuff like oil changes, but they really should consider sometimes if making a few bucks is worth putting people's cars at risk if the work is heavier than they should take on. I'm going to my usual mechanic for recommendations on work outside his scope from now on instead of going with whomever is convenient or cheap. You get what you pay for. read more

Stay far, far away. I purchased tires here and then about 6 months later, I went in for an oil change and a rotation. Much like another reviewer here, I was charged for stuff I didn't ask for! They gave me some sort of "special" oil change that was like $90... Uh, no. I asked for the charge to be removed and the manager said "well, he wouldn't have put it in the system if you hadn't asked for it." Oh, I was steamed but I stood my ground and I ended up paying for only the standard oil change. And then I get home and I look at my tires and realize that they didn't even rotate them like I'd asked so I called them back and they said to bring it in and they'll rotate them for me. They did rotate them but they put the lugnuts on sooooo hard that when I got a flat tire, I couldn't get them off. I had to get AAA out to help me and even the driver with AAA said that they were on ridiculously tight! Fast forward about a year later and I needed new brakes and took the car to my local repairman. He had to strip the nuts to get my tires off! Those asshats at Big O tightened them so hard on purpose that I will NEVER do business with them again and I hope no one else does either. The front desk people seem to be caring and considerate. However, once they have your car, watch out. I brought my car in for a simple oil change, tire leak and tire rotation. They did not rotate the tires. I asked them to fix a slow leak in one of the tires and they didn't even try. They didn't even check the fluids when they changed the oil. I don't even know if they changed the oil. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Stay away. Stay far way. read more

Horrible experience every time. I bought a living social deal for 3 oil changes with them. The first oil change they were rude at the front desk and forgot to put on my reminder sticker. The second oil change I tried to call to make a appointment I was told that I could not make a appointment but that I could drop my car off and it would be done in a 3 hour window, so 3 1/2 hours went by and finally I called them, only to find out that they forgot to call me and that my car was done a hour ago. They failed to top off any of my fluids and about two weeks later I noticed that there was a oil spot in my garage that was growing and that my car was acting funny, so I took it to a different place and they told me that the people who had done my oil change didn't tighten the cap enough so it was leaking. This third time I got my oil changed they told me that it should only take 45 mins and would call me, so 2 hours later I called them, again they forgot to call me when it was ready. All times, I have not had any luck with customer service in the front, they are always rushed and rude. When i expressed that I have had some bad luck at this facility the man helping me did not even respond and just handed me my keys. I would not recommend trusting this facility with your car or your time!!! update-- a staff member contacted me through this site saying they would forward the complaint to the manger, the manager did contact me but basically said, "sorry that happened, better luck next time" so thanks Big O tires, but I will not be coming back to you again. Luckily Living social was more understanding and helpful than the actual business and refunded what I paid for the oil changes and bad service. read more

Not even being a customer myself they still took me in as soon as I got there, and repaired it at no cost. They were super nice, polite, and it was quick service. I've bought tires here in the past for my F-250 and had a pretty good experience; other than tire pressures not being set as I had requested. They've also put brake pads and rotors on my truck in the past. I stopped in several times over that last few months to have them check my brakes because I was continually hearing a squeaking sound that had become an occasional grinding noise. Every inspection yielded a "your brakes look great. Probably Just brake dust"' response. Last Friday afternoon I stopped In again and told them I'm no longer buying the brake dust theory and asked that they give them a thorough check. The Technician who checked them said one of the rotors was warped and asked if I regularly pulled trailers. I responded I typically don't pull trailers but do have a small trailer that I had pulled about 40 miles a month ago but it has trailer brakes..... and they work. The service writer (Carl) wrote up the service request for pads and rotors and scheduled me for service installation Saturday AM. They understood that I use this truck for my business and agreed to get it in and out quickly as long as I arrived first thing Sat. AM. I arrived at 7:00 AM (but couldn't get in until 7:30). Met Carl again who said once the truck was in the the shop my service should take 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. I agreed to wait on it and asked that they also rotate the Big O tires while they have it on the rack. He agreed to get that done as part of today's service. At +/-10:00, I learned they found the caliper on the warped rotor had a seized pin which was causing the pad to drag and would take a bit longer to replace. (That's obviously what had been causing the noise I had been asking them to check out previously and also caused the rotor to warp.) At 11:30 I asked Carl how much longer it would be. Without checking with the shop, he replied it should be done pretty soon. at 1:30 I noticed the truck was off the rack and parked outside. I told Carl it appears the work must finally be completed since the truck is parked outside. He said the brakes were done and they were just waiting for a bay to open up so they could rotate the tires. At this point I was out of patience. I had already been there 6 hours for the 2-hour service. I asked to forget about the tire rotation and I'll pay for the complete front brake service ($880.00), most of which should have been averted if anyone had really done a "brake inspection" the previous 2 times I had the truck there for just that. I think their "free" brake inspection consisted of just checking the pad wear the previous 2 times. On the positive side, there was some benefit to sitting in their waiting area for 6 hours. Other than getting some paperwork done, that I had brought with me, I witnessed several other very disgruntled customers returning to aire their displeasure with services they had received. I always thought this place was different than the others. I'm now convinced it's not. They're OK for tires but I'll be taking my mechanical issues to an independent ASE Certified mechanic in the future. My time is more valuable to me than the few dollars I might save coming here. read more

Customer service was outstanding the information given to me about what I needed done and preventative maintenance in the future that is needed done on my vehicle will not be as big of an issue because of the thorough and outstanding quality Care they seem to give their customers. I'm not the first one to say this read the reviews I had four tires put on four wheel alignment CVT transmission flush and oil change fluid check brake check and a bit of other work done in an hour and 45 minutes done right showed me what was done show me what needed to be done in the future and we're not pushy at all. Not only am I happy with their customer service I'm happy with the quality of service they provided I feel the price for everything I had done was the best price around and I wish other shops would really pick up on what's going on here. It has restored my faith and small mechanic shops that if you don't know much about cars and take it to this shop they will not try to oversell or exceed the budget you're on or push you into brakes and rotors it was awesome thank you guys I'll be coming back read more

They would not explain what the issue was with my tire, and referred me to another BIG O on 120th and Washington, which had no issues on helping me and I was not feeling like i was being shoved out the door. I installed new rear tires 235/45/17 vs 225/45/17. I knew because of this that I was going to have camber issues because of the taller wheel. Also, I knew my toe was off because my car pulled a little to the left. I went to Big O and was quoted 79.99 for a 4 wheel alignment, which Brady stated was for toe, camber, and caster ("whatever it takes to get the wheel aligned"). I was in a hurry to leave because they took over an hour and a half to do my alignment. After, realizing that they only adjusted toe and did not touch camber on any wheel, I called them. I spoke to a manager and he stated that camber was not touched because I did not have enough adjustment for camber. I mentioned to him that I installed a camber kit for that reason. He said that I had to get new struts. What?! New struts, what for? He stated it was to get the camber alignment done right. The manager treated me like I did not know about cars. I told him that my struts were good and that it had nothing to do with camber adjustment. I could not get anywhere with the manager. I stated that I was dissatisfied with their work and he said that there was nothing they could do. From previous experiences (at Big O Tires), I have had my camber adjusted (that's the whole reason for the camber kit). The manager basically told me that I could go somewhere else, that they did not and were not going to adjust the camber. Now, I am stuck with -0.5, -0.9, -1.3, and -0.5 for the front left, front right, rear left, and rear right, respectively, for camber. I told him that this was going to wear out my tires faster than normal and he said there was nothing he could do. I paid 79.99 for a toe adjustment. Neither camber nor caster were adjusted. I will never be visiting this Big O again. read more
