Big Rob and family kept us fed during the pandemic with take out and later the drive through. Great burgers Fries salads and best of all best Chicken Fried steak (only???) in town which my husband loves. This place is crazy good! We started with the HOMEMADE mozzarella sticks and were pleasantly surprised. They were amazing with ranch. I'm not sure what happened to costumer service at this establishment. Perhaps Kyle, is growing too fast and can't keep up with demand for workers? Maybe staff didn't want to work on a Memorial Day weekend? I don't know? I'm not expecting fancy top service but if the waitress can't handle two tables then I think its time to hire different staff. I strictly stick to the burgers and sadly on this visit everything was off? The burger was over cooked and dry. The cheese bites appetizer was cold by the time it hit the table. We were asked if everything was "ok" but our response didn't really matter. I shouldn't have to ask three times for sugar for my tea. Decent burgers, like homemade. Freshly made patties, took about 15 minutes to get 3 burgers. I wasn't too crazy about the fries. I suspect they are frozen crinkle cuts with fry seasoning on them. The burgers are pricey; $9.75 and up, fries included but not the drink. They have a $7 lunch special mon thru fri. The place is clean and well kept. Food is always great! I do normally call in and pick up, so this past visit with the family we decided to go inside. Once again amazing food, my only issue was with the waitstaff, we had to ask for everything sugar, silverware, straws, ketchup, napkins I can keep going... but she may have been new. My girlfriend and I entered only to be seated by a waitress who called us over by tapping on the table to "come over" like we were dogs. She began to ask what we wanted and when we said we didn't know she asked if we've ever been there before and asked if we wanted a menu...yea that be nice, is what we replied. After handing us 1 menu, she asked immediately, what do y'all want? Well we ended up getting walking out with all eyes on us from numerous employees that did nothing but watch. Quaint and comfortable vibe that makes you feel like you're at your auntie's house. I placed our order to go and patiently waited. This is a great new burger spot in Kyle. They haven't been open long and they're in kind of an inconspicuous location, so they're still working on drumming up business. I strongly recommend that you go. The staff was excellent; I experienced some of the best customer service I've received at a restaurant of its kind. Of all the time I lived out in this area, I FINALLY had a chance to make it out to Big Rob's and the food did not disappoint. The burgers were hot and super tasty. The fries were crispy and very good. Here's why I didn't give 5 stars: I, personally, take issue with a burger place that doesn't serve hand cut fries (I also have a HUGE issue with a burger place that doesn't form their own patties, which wasn't the case here, just saying) and I think the patties could have used a bit more seasoning. But other than that, the food was great and fresh. I will return. I also got a comment from the owner after my original post about the issue of hand forming your own patties, If you would reread my review you would see that it reads that My issue was with places that didn't hand form their own patties, but that doesn't include your place because it's obvious that you do form your own patties. read more
