Wow! I came to visit my Brother and he happens to live by this place. He recommended it so we came here for lunch. I had the patty melt with toppings. My dad had the triple (El jefe), which is ginormous. Not only are the burgers huge but super juicy and tasty. All the ingredients are very fresh. Per the waitress who by the way gave us great service: single ~ 6.5 oz of beef double ~ 14oz triple ~ 20oz I would put this place a level above Dan's and almost on part with Hoppdaddy's. I was eager to try this place out and it did not disappoint! We got the fried pickles and they were so big and crispy. The breading was perfect! I got the crispy chicken sandwich with regular fries and it was delicious. The veggies tasted so fresh and the fries had a great seasoning! Came by on a Saturday right at noon for the first time. I've heard great things about this place and also had recently found out that they were recognized at Best Burgers in Kyle. Once you walk in, you pick the place you want to sit and then a waiter comes by and ask you if you've been here before. We said no, and he explained to us that their burgers are 6.5oz on Hawaiian Buns and they have reg fries, onion rings or sweet potato waffle fries. He then took our drink order while we looked over the menu. We ordered cheese sticks as an app and 2 bacon cheeseburgers. Let me tell you, these cheese sticks were AMAZING. Definitely not your average skinny frozen cheese sticks. They were just so delicious! The burgers were HUGE and so filling and the sweet potato fries were the bomb! Everything was delicious and our waiter was very friendly and his service was excellent! Prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get and the service received. Burger was delicious and made with quality meat and Ingredients. Highly recommended, as for the French fries? Not so much. The crinkle cut batch I got was soggy and bland and tasted Like it came out of a bag from the back of the freezer... but admittedly I'm not ever really a fan of the crinkle Fry. Our enthusiastic server suggested today's lunch special served from 11 to 3: that was a hamburger on a Kings Hawaiian bun, fries, and sweet tea for $7.99. My wife said "oh yeah that's exactly what I would like." So I went for the Bacon, Avocado, and Swiss burger, on Texas Toast ($11.25), and substituted onion rings for fries ($1.25 extra) We agreed that the fries and onion rings were just fine, nothing special at all; but the actual burgers were quite good -- fresh, hot, and tasty. I'm new to Kyle and the Plum Creek area and came to Big Rob's around 8pm on a Wednesday night with three kids 10 years and under. I saw that they closed at 9pm so I was a little worried about the time crunch. I wasn't paying attention to what my 10-year-old ordered, but when it arrived to the table it looked like a bacon cheeseburger that was bigger than his face. He devoured it. His favorite food is a burger and he gave this one his full endorsement. Two thumbs up from him. Next, the two 7-year-olds both ordered cheeseburgers off the kid's menu. These two both loved their burgers. There wasn't a crumb or a fry left on their plates. Their burgers didn't look to be that much smaller than a plain burger you'd get on an adult menu. Four thumbs up from them, and two from me for filling their bellies. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. That's my usual thing, so I really enjoy a good one. I hate going to places where you can tell they microwaved a frozen chicken breast and put it on a bun. Not at Big Rob's!! They may have me fooled but I'm okay with that if so. The chicken at least seemed fresh and was grilled perfectly. Our server got my order right and had it loaded with pickles, so it was delicious. Two thumbs WAY UP from me. Speaking of our server, she was super nice, very attentive, and also very patient with three kids who want this AND that or this BUT NOT that. There were multiple tv's on so we could watch baseball while we ate and other patrons were watching other things. Oh and remember how I said I was worried about the time crunch? We were out by 9pm, which means we were served hot and fresh food in a timely fashion, but we were also never made to feel rushed by the staff at all. In a nutshell, this place is legit. Then asked for a tip on a pick up order. I have eaten there in the past and it was ok. Not close to being worth $30. Big guy at the counter told me Sonic was around the corner and to get the hell outta there. BTW, they charge for Salad dressing even if you order a salad.. wish I could give you zero stars!!! Been a long time regular until tonight. Called to place my order and the lady on the phone told me I couldn't get what I wanted. A chicken fried steak with double potatoes. She told me they can't give me double mashed potatoes because it overwhelms them. So fine I order it as it comes. Go to pick up my food and the bill for 4 people came to $81. The menu on their Facebook page is not accurate. The prices are wrong and the listing for what their plates come with is wrong. I called back telling them I did not receive my side salad for my steak dinner and she told me they don't do that either. checkEd out the "most recent menu" according to the manager on duty last night. LookEd at the menu price and then lookEd at my receipt. Every single item is priced higher on my receipt then their most recent "menu" claims the price is. 50 cents here, 29 cents there--no consistency. Just price gouging like no one is going to catch on. All of these prices were entered in before she even knew how I was paying- so you can't tell me it's a credit card fee. Such a huge disappointment- shop local my behind. They're robbing their community!!! Carolina was not pleasant and frankly pretty rude for being the one in charge. She made zero apology and had no empathy for the customer. If you're going to run a business- at least have all your menus and socials updated instead of having false information. Won't be returning.
