I am new to the area and I went to Big Star Ford late in the evening because of a oil leak and a issue with my radio in on my 1 owner 2009 Harley Davison edition F-450 super duty Dully. Service advisor Ian S. greeted me with a smile and told me that we will take great care of my truck, and set me up with a rental. My old girl was in the shop for 3 weeks because of the parts that were needed. But when I got the keys back and we started rolling down the road. I don't know who was smiling the most me or my old girl!! I cannot thank Ian enough for getting my old girl in the shop and taking care if so quickly! I waited over four months to write this review to see if I would be less disappointed with my experience at Big Star Ford. I'm not. It was 2019 Memorial Day weekend and Ford was offering significant incentives to sell new unsold 2018 Ford F-150 trucks. We test drove an F-150 that we thought was new. The odometer showed under 100 miles. It was not until my husband had fallen in love with the truck and we were in the finance department that we saw the actual mileage was 2,500. It had been used as a loaner or an executive vehicle. The odometer was switched to trip on our test drive so we didn't see the actual mileage. At that point we had been at the dealership nearly 6 hours. We were worn down and my husband liked the truck so we competed the transaction in spite of the fact that the truck we thought was "new" had just never been titled. Be very careful here. Negotiate your interest rate and the amount of your trade. Pay attention to the odometer and just expect the worst. I am giving 2 stars because they do have good inventory. read more

I Understand why they have a 2 star review. I bought the "advantage care" which is 3 oil changes. I tried to use them and Was told I had to make an appointment 8 days in advance just to get an oil change. The lady on the phone said I could attempt to walk in. So I came up here and they said they don't take walk ins. Really!!! 8 days for an oil change that is already paid for. Where is the advantage and where is the care? They are a joke. I bought a used vehicle from here about a month ago. The salesman was really nice over the phone/text. He even sent me a video of the vehicle and all of its specs. When I arrived he was very polite and had the car ready for me to take a test drive. Everything seemed to function fine. We went to sign the paperwork, then went to the finance office to sign the rest. I was told my paper work for the car would come in the mail, to this day I haven't gotten anything. And on top of that, my car note came $100 higher than what I agreed upon. When I called the dealership about this, I was sent to a voicemail. We'll see how long it takes them to get back to me. Not only that, I was sold a car with little to no brake pads. I didn't hear it at first because of course while test driving it, I couldn't hear how squeaky the brakes were over the radio. My coworkers brought it to my attention and now I hear the squeak all the time. I'm almost afraid to call about it after reading the reviews on their service center damaging peoples vehicles. When you buy from a big dealership like this, you expect better service. If I wanted to buy a car that would immediately need maintenance after purchase, I would have just driven down Spencer hwy. and bought from one of those lots. I purchased a package for 3 oil changes/3 tire rotations from Big Star Ford near Pearland, TX for $139.95 - big mistake! I only used one, then subsequently got a new car, different make, so I couldn't use the 2 remaining oil changes & tire rotations & sought a partial refund for the 2. It took forever to get the partial refund, & the partial refund was reduced by a cancellation fee that Big Star Ford does NOT give you any notice of! Purchased 3 vehicles from big star. First one great experience Second one good experience. 3rd vehicle was a nightmare! No clarity on the sale. Sales reps do not know their products. Brand new vehicle was and is a lemon. Took the vehicle back 3 times because the battery kept dying and each time they said it was a bad battery and replaced it. The problem still persisted and finally it was concluded by their mechanics that it must be something I am doing to drain the battery....... So now we are driving a 2018 band new vehicle that the battery randomly dies and are in hopes that there will be someone to give us a jump at any given time. I finally made the decision to take it to another ford dealership and within 2 days of having the car they verified and found a problem within the car and are still finding faulty electronics. Car was purchased in July of 2018, it is now Jan 1 of 2019 and we have been dealing with big star since. I've complained and tried to get out of this LEMON car since before my first car note. I've dealt with all avail reps from big star ford and nobody can do anything to help. Also I your planning on taking your vehicle in for an oil change or something routine, make plans to get picked up and leave the vehicle because it takes two hours to change the oil on cars now days. The worst service center at a dealership I have ever been too! To much has gone wrong here to even type it all out. Basically go there for a oil change and it takes 3 hrs plus even with an appointment. Service lady is rude to most people she talks too even the customer. Then she acts nice to you 5 min later. Also didn't relay anything to the technician working on the car. Oh, there's more but to cut to the chase after I finally got my truck back the antenna was broken because they didn't take it off for the courteous car wash they give you. After weeks of calling and leaving voicemails for the managers still haven't talked to a manager. The only thing working right at this place is the voicemail machine!! I got my car back today after 2 weeks at the service department. I had an issue with a dummy light coming and the car shutting down on me in the middle of the road so they did a diagnostic on my car and told me it was an Oxegen sensor. the replaced it i took the car home and it was doing the same thing they told me to bring it back so i did. Big mistake, they called a few days later and told me the problem was not happening for them, and if they could take it on an extended drive. i said yes what ever you need to do to take care of the problem. Haven't heard anything from them, so after 2 weeks i called to get a status they told me my car was done. they never called to let me know, when i went to pick up my car the staff was very rude and the didn't even wash my car. it looks like they took it mudding i have a Mustang. i will never deal with Big Star Ford AGAIN. read more

Made a service appointment for 1pm. Arrived, noone helped me, stood around another 10 min before someone finally came to ask me if I needed help. He said he would be right back and no sign of him after that. My wife finally just walked into an office and demanded help-- we were then told an oil change that I had previously scheduled would take 3-4 hours-- are you kidding me?? I had a 1 o'clock appointment and we finally just left after we stood in the driveway for WAY TOO LONG. I was there for service and to look at trading in my lincoln mkx for a 2500. Horrible, worst Ford dealer in country! I made a reservation for service and once I arrived it still took an hour to get through the system. I was first one in am. I was very specific about what I wanted and then received two phone calls to try to upsell me on additional services. To add to this frustration one of the trouble shooting issues I had was never done. The attendant that was helping me does not listen to his customers. I have taken my truck to dealers in 6 states for service multiple times over the last 3 years and this was absolutely the worst experience ever! This is for anyone thinking about getting a new or used car soon: I've been meaning to write this for about 3 weeks now, but I have to say I Love Big Star Ford!, I have bought many cars in my life but buying from them was totally a different experience, the whole time it felt like I was just hanging out with friends as opposed to buying a car, we were laughing, talking football, they had one of the cars I have been wanting for 2 years, a White, Ford Explorer Sport, I got a GREAT deal, I am happy beyond belief, driving is fun again and way less stressful, From the GM Rick (he's a Bassist, so we talked music), to my sales person Nick, young local guy played Pro Football too (awesome dude), Sky, Tommy in fiancees, they were all extremely top notch, I never once had the "buying a car feel" if you know what I mean you get at some other dealer ships, I would really like to thank my friend Jen for making me go up there and talk to them, if it wasn't for her none of this would have ever happened, she kicks butt! It was a zero pressure experience, it felt like they genuinely just wanted me to get exactly what I wanted, no sales pitch, no let me ask my manager hogwash, none of that. If I ever buy another car I will 100% go back them because of the phenomenal treatment I received buying my SUV this time. I'm just mad at myself for not doing it way sooner and driving my older vehicle that seemed like it had a issue ever 4 months (car problems are the worst), I also didn't think my previous credit history problems would even allow me to get accepted, but not only did I get accepted but found out my credit score isn't as bad as I thought it was (over 700), I went up there just to look at what inventory they had and get some information, but after we started talking they explained that they could make me a deal and not just a deal but a GREAT deal, I drove away with my new/used SUV that day and have been blown away by how well it drives and the comfort of driving it and all the extras it has, I have to drive 40 Minutes to work every day (one way) and then all over the city from there for work and I have and no stress since I have been in this vehicle, like I said driving is fun again and not a hassle. Found a great deal on 2017 F150 on-line. Went to dealership after much correspondence with internet sales manager only to find the price had increased by $2,400 for an "aftermarket value package". This value package included nitrogen filled tires, tinted windows, alarms and a bed liner. All of these items were listed as features in the price details on-line. They would not honor the on-line price. Terrible experience and the internet manager should ashamed of the bait and switch. read more

I recently purchased a loaded 2015 King Ranch from Mac Haik. What a great price and experience! My brother-in-law loved my truck and decided to purchase a King Ranch also. We visited Mac Haik, but their inventory did not have a 4X2 White King Ranch with the larger gas tank. So I went online, found a truck that fit the bill at Big Star Ford and inquired via phone on the price and availability. The salesman quoted a price that was competitive, and I agreed to bring my brother-in-law to the dealership that night to purchase the vehicle. Just to be certain of the verbal agreement, I emailed the salesman my understanding of the price of the truck, as well as TT&L fees. I asked verbally, and confirmed in the email that there were no other charges. We arrived at the dealership, and the sales manager promptly gave us a new price, which included a $399 fee for a "package of discounts" for services at his dealership, and $360 for the bed liner. I showed him the email, but he insisted on adding the charges and tried to justify that the wording in the email didn't include these new fees. We left. It was a bait and switch, just to get us into the dealership, 28 miles from home. Ten minutes later, the salesman called and said that the dealership manager over ruled the new car sales manager and Big Star would honor the deal agreed to by phone and email. I encouraged my brother-in-law to find another truck, as dealing with this type of dealership is never good. But the King Ranch is hard to find, and my brother-in-law wanted the truck, so we returned to Big Star Ford. Come to find out while signing the closing papers, the truck had over 1,000 mile on it, as it was a demo, but not disclosed in negotiations. And the financing through a local credit union offered by the dealership was twice the interest rate that was advertised on the credit union's website. This dealership is unethical and not worthy to bear the Ford emblem. The new car sales manager is a con artist, and the dealership manager condones that behavior. Look at Mac Haik's website before purchasing any vehicle from Big Star Ford. And unfortunately, Ford Motor Company won't take any action on these deceptive practices. read more

STAY AWAY! CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! If you need your vehicle repaired do not go to Big Star Ford. Long story short, my ac went out and I brought it to Big Star Ford for a diagnostic, because the Vehicle Repair Service Center was not far from my home. After getting back a quote of approximately $2,200, I decided to pay the approximate $143 diagnostic fee and take my vehicle to Christian Brothers for the repair. Christian Brothers charged me approximately $1,400 to do the same AC job on my King Ranch Ford F-150. Here is where things get dicey. As Christian Brother was evaluating my truck, they discovered that my carpet had been cut, wires were left unhooked in my engine, bolts were missing from my center console, and an actuator was missing. I informed Big Star Ford regarding what Christian Brothers reported to me and from the onset they denied everything. The service manager did not get back with me within the timeframe that he said he would. The service manager went as far as to say that nothing was pulled from my truck to confirm that I needed a new evaporator core. I could give many more details, but I will stop right there (because I am not a certified mechanic). I did however get the opinion of two qualified professionals who work in the industry and who explained the process that happens to check if an evaporator core is properly functioning. The feedback from those two qualified professionals who work in the industry does not match what I was told by the Big Star Ford Service Center Manager. From the feedback I received from those qualified professionals that work in the industry and through my own research; what I now understand is that the Big Star Ford Vehicle Service Center failed to do their due diligence when it comes to giving the customer a multi-point inspection. My last two points of concern, the vehicle service center manager admitted that one of his employees took a horn out of a vehicle and did not put it back in. At that moment, his admittance of this did not make me feel any more comfortable about the issues I reported as a result of another company accessing my vehicle after it left the hands of Big Star Ford Vehicle Service Center. Last, of my two final concerns, I had a conversation and was showing an employee the pictures of wires that were left unhooked and their exact words to me were, 'We get a lot of complaints about that department all the time and I would never personally allow them to work on my vehicle. I'm not surprised that you had an issue." So, what am I asking for at this point from the Big Star Ford Vehicle Service Center, absolutely nothing? After speaking to my wife about the whole ordeal we both believed the best thing to do is to inform other consumers. And yes, I was the guy that gave Big Start Ford Vehicle Service Center a 5 Star rating as I paid for my diagnostic, but little did I know what was about to be discovered. My husband and I went Saturday to look into trading out my car. I've been really interested in the new Ford Explorers and we went looking to purchase one that day. We were greeted about 20 minutes after walking around by one person who walked us over to the Ford Explorers not giving us much detail about anyone in particular. He kind of just showed us where they were. There was one in our price range and he went and got the keys but when we told him that we really wanted leather he just kind of stood there and didn't bother helping us anymore. We told him that we wanted to look at other vehicles that had similar features and he just told my husband to call him if we needed anything, didn't bother pointing us in any direction or helping us at all. We then walked through all the dealerships and not one person came up to us. We spent about 45 minutes walking around and just looking in the vehicles that were unlocked. Finally a guy walked by and my husband made a comment saying "you guys don't like to sell vehicles do you?" And the guy just laughed and asked if anyone helped us. When we told him no, he just said that he's with a customer and walked off. This is by far the worst dealership we've ever been to. We won't be going back and instead we will be looking elsewhere to purchase our new vehicles. read more

I just visited this dealership. I had responded to a new truck listing which was on the Autotrader website. This company has the truck listed at $38745. When the sales rep came back with the figures for a sales transaction, the price came back much higher because of Dealer add-on charges. They called these additional expenses an "aftermarket value package" which cost $2990.50. I told them about the advertised price and that I didn't want the added value package. They would not remove the $3000 of add ons, nor were they willing to negotiate lowering these high priced dealer add-ons. They didn't seem concerned that they had an add which was nothing more than a big lie. Their advetised price $38745, their price on paper $41,735.50. This company is very deceptive. The experiences I have had both in purchasing vehicles and obtaining service on them have all been good, not perfect but really good! Today I had to wait a tad longer than usual for my oil change/tire rotation/wash, but Renee and Rosemary kept me on an even keel with their banter and made the visit enjoyable. I live in Richmond, TX. Truck was towed to Big Star dealership because of 2 tire blow out due to road debris and it was the nearest Ford dealer. Purchased 4 new tires, mounted, balanced, and scheduled a pick up time. I pulled out of the dealership and checked the tire pressure monitoring system and discovered the tires were not properly inflated, should have been 45psi, per sticker on door, and the 4 NEW tires were at 33, 35, 37 and 40psi. Pulled back into service, went inside and was told I would have to wait because the garage area was full, I was in a hurry because I did this during a "lunch hour" and had an appointment. Finally someone came and took my truck back in and properly inflated the tires. I hitched up my trailer later that same day and drove to Port Aransas for a planned 4 day camping event. I went to hook up Sunday morning to leave and one of the new tires was near flat, registered 20psi. I called roadside service and had to wait 2 hours to get it changed, I would have done it myself but it was raining and I was already exhausted from hitching up, and then unhitching to get to the spare tire. The next week, a friend took my truck and "new" tire back in to dealership, which is 45 minutes each way, and was informed it had not been "sealed" properly on install.... then I got a text that the service people could not find the pouch/packet that has the parts to reinstall the spare, so the spare came back to me in the truck bed. The "pouch/packet" was exactly where it was supposed to be, behind the passenger side back seat, pull the back down and it's right there in a neat little bundle of grey felt! It's a Ford F150 and it's at a Ford dealership, would think someone there would have known that or know how to google to find it. With assistance from a friend we reinstalled the spare in my driveway that the service department couldn't/wouldn't. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS DEALERSHIP. Now I'm waiting to get my $1000 check back from them as my insurance company sent them the check with my name on it as well, they have had my $1000 for almost a month now because they cannot figure out to send me a document to sign. I called several times over a course of a week to schedule appointment for brakes and a recall. After speaking with scheduling and leaving about 4-5 voicemails with a "service specialist " to confirm they did in fact have a loaner set up for me. I get there and I'm met by a fidgety service specialist who was clearly working on something else ("verified" my car 3-4 times because he wasn't paying attention). Long story short... the initial rep lied I didn't have a loaner or rental, not once did a service specialist ever return any of my voicemails to confirm and it was a wasted appointment. Today I went to buy me a new truck at a different dealership . How exciting right ? Wrong ! I found out that the truck was wrecked twice . What makes me mad is that the truck belonged to one of the Managers that worked at Big Star. They sold me that truck knowing it was wrecked. I calmly go back to Big Star and explain to them what I found out today. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy a pre owned vehicle from this place!! THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO RIP YOU OFF! (Can't speak on the new vehicles). I found a car for 14,000$ on carfax. Went in to finance 14,000$ + tax. The salesman told me the car came with TheftPatrol and when I asked how much more it'll be he said nothing extra. I ended up financing it and looked at the documents and turns out he said it wouldn't be extra because they charged me 17,000+ in total before tax. I called them asking why it wasn't 14,000$ and their response was "when you said extra I thought you meant monthly?" Anyway they don't want to take the TheftPatrol out. So what's the point of advertising for 14,000$? The reason it wasnt extra a month is because it was always 17,000$ not 14,000$. It's unbelievable, just to sell a car to someone will lie to you? I find it ironic that as he was selling the car he would constantly say "our goal here is to not make you feel as if you got ripped off when you leave" but that is exactly how I'm feeling. VERY GHETTO. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. My mother in law dropped off her Ford on Monday July 18, 2022 to have a recall issue fixed. They took her car completely apart, but they didnt even have the recall part in stock. Not once were we told when she brought it in for the recall issue, that they didn't have the recall part in stock. Why would you take a car apart for a recall issue and not have the recall part? After one week of us calling and calling and calling about if the car was ready (we kept speaking to a TJ) he told us the car had been taken a part and wouldnt be put back together. Excuse me?!?!?! I don't accept that answer. Today is August 8, 2022 and they still have my mother in laws car and it is still not fixed. TJ, one of their workers in the service dept is a liar and a POS and so is the service department General Manager, Rebecca, Rosemary or whatever the hell her name is. Its quite irrelevant, I just know they are ALL frauds and liars. My mother in law is 75 years old and this has been the biggest load of BS Ive ever seen. NO ONE has made any attempts to offer her a rental, a loaner or anything and we've asked for one several times; every time we call we ask for one! I have called 3x today. My husband has called 3x today. My mother in law has called 3x today and NOT one of us has gotten our calls answered or a return call. When we spoke to the service dept GM, rebecca or Rosemary last week (week 3 of this issue) she finally told the truth whereas TJ had been lying for 2 weeks. The truth of the situation is these mfers at Ford, when they went to put my MILs car back together (without the recall part) one of their super smart techs broke an original part on my MILs car. They broke a part that had nothing to do with the recall and they dont have that part in stock and they dont know when they are going to get it. So that's where we are. With a car that is now broken courtesy of Ford with absolutely no idea of when they will get the part in. They are so sorry, they havent even said "hey we ordered it" or nothing. Just a sorry group of people. Bout as sorry as a Ford vehicle to begin with. She wouldnt even be going through this shit if it was Chevy but thats a whole nuther review. Week 4 of my MIL not having her vehicle because Ford broke a part and they are not offering any sort of loaner, rental or compensation. They broke a part and their attitude is pretty much "oh well". I regret buying a car from this place!!! Always giving us problems when we take our truck to service. It's been a week since I drop off my truck and they haven't check it. Never again buying in this place. Employees always rude and never have a helping attitude. read more

They obviously aren't interested in repeat customers here as I cannot get a return call from anyone in the service department. The buying experience wasn't bad (because they wanted my money) but I'm invisible now that I need warranty work. Every bad review ends in them apologizing and asking you to call Desiree Sauceman. I made an appointment to have my oil changed and tires rotated.... so far so good, I had to discover on the paperwork that it flagged (red mark), that I had an engine coolant leak. I asked what step was next to address that and was told to call and make an appointment. then I was informed that there would be a one week wait for "diagnostics." So I asked if they meant that I should wait a week to schedule the appointment. I was told " NO " I could make the appointment now and bring in the Truck but they would keep it a week before checking to see what was needed to repair it !!!!!! I asked, " Why would I leave my truck with you for a week before you even look at it " " Why don't you schedule an appointment for me to bring the truck in when you are ready to evaluate it." The point of making an appointment ( medical, restaurant) is to eliminate the wait. read more
