What a gas! The whole family, 10 of us from age 67 to 9 months, enjoyed a giant three hour ride around the peninsula on their electric bikes. Even the family dog joined in the ride. Rode from Monterey to Pebble Beach Lodge and back. Absolutely beautiful. Electric bikes were awesome. The folks at Big Sur Adventures were very nice and helpful. All in all I would was going to give them a five star because it really was great. Really nice staff, and awesome location. Very easy to find and right where you want to ride bikes. Pacific Grove and the 17-mile drive are spectacular. The reason I gave 4 stars is that I remembered the bikes we rented were just a little bit tired or well-used. The front suspension was a bit rusty and didn't work properly. But in reality for riding a fat tire bike on streets you hardly need suspension, and in that coastal environment everything wants to rust. Honestly, we really enjoyed the experience. read more

We rented the bikes for just 4 hours and it was awesome! Riding up the beautiful coast at our own pace was great too. The ebike are easy to use and the battery probably could of lasted the whole day. Towards the ending of our 4 hours we were only using the throttle and not peddling at all. The battery level didn't even move a notch! The only draw back was we should of rented for longer. My husband planned a bike tour as part of our 15 year anniversary activities. At 1st I was thinking a 3 hr bike tour is lengthy but in hindsight I wish it was longer. Jonathan was our tour guide, he made the tour exciting, interesting, he was extremely knowledgable about the history enriched area and he was funny. The entire experience was great, so much so we're planning to return for another tour. Additionally the bikes were the best, I think we may invest in one of these cool electric bikes. The experience was a great way to end our anniversary celebration. I was calling around for eBike rentals for our team and decided to go with Big Sur Rentals based solely on my phone conversation with an employee. They are committed to offering a great activity at a reasonable price. The bikes were awesome, the rates were reasonable, the staff is trustworthy and helpful. Our group did the 17 Mike Drive self guided tour, which I was really dreading, because I've done it in a car and it was awful. I can now say being on a bike changes the whole experience. Everyone on the team had so much fun and it was an awesome and affordable team event. After the ride we walked around the corner and had lunch at Fish Hopper overlooking the bay. What a great experience! My husband chose to rent these bikes for his birthday "adventure" and indeed it was! We were able to travel the bike path and roads along Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach coastlines. I loved that we could pedal the bikes when we wanted to, like a regular bike, and then have it work for us like a moped when we wanted the help to go up hills or just cruise along without effort. I was skeptical, but I am definitely going to rent these bikes again. We went 13+ miles in an hour and a half and did not see the battery charge decrease at all. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. We live here in town, and will recommend Big Sur Adventures Rad bikes to all our friends and family. read more
