We brought her in for routine vaccinations, and instead of administering the shots with us present, they dragged her into a separate room. Within moments, we could hear her screaming, crying, and yelping in absolute panic. The sounds coming from that room were horrifying. My partner and I were sitting there in shock, genuinely terrified about what was happening to our dog. My partner was able to see through a window that multiple staff members were physically restraining her. She is a small dog, and I still cannot understand why the measure they took was needing several people forcibly holding her down or why the procedure continued while she was in such extreme distress. This wasn't a brief reaction--it went on for several minutes while she screamed. We have had dogs our entire lives. This was not normal. We have taken her to other veterinarians for vaccinations before and never once experienced anything remotely close to this. She has always done fine with shots. We have never heard her make sounds like that before. It was genuinely traumatic to witness, and I can only imagine how traumatic it was for her to experience. What made it even worse was the complete lack of concern afterward. There was no meaningful acknowledgment of how distressed she had been, no explanation that made the experience feel justified, and no indication that anyone cared about the emotional well-being of our pet. To add insult to injury, this clinic is incredibly expensive. For the prices they charge, I expected compassionate care, attentive staff, and a veterinarian who genuinely cared about the animals being treated. Instead, we left feeling like our dog was treated as a problem to be restrained rather than a living creature deserving patience and care. This experience completely destroyed our trust in this clinic. We will never bring our dog back, and I would strongly encourage other pet owners to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this practice.

I took my two cats in for a first exam, and my one cat for a clear skin reaction of some sort. I was not asked for any records, I assumed that this was customary and I would be asked BEFORE the exam. They had no idea whether my cats were up to date on anything, and didn't ask. I had to pull that up for them mid exam. I was prescribed allergy medication (oral and two topicals) but we did not once discuss possible allergens, didn't take any blood, didn't run any tests. I would have paid for this but it was clearly rushed. They also DO NOT take pet insurance, despite what it says on Pet assure or any website. All of this is irrelevant when it comes to what I'm truly writing this review about. This animal hospital needs to integrate FEAR FREE practices into their treatment. It isn't hard to learn how to approach cats and ensure they leave happy, you can become fear free certified. I am still so worked up over how the Dr. handled my cat. I understand that the conversation around "scruffing" cats is a can of worms. This was unacceptable though. My cat is very sensitive and makes it known when she's uncomfortable, I have never seen her so upset and she has never given any of the vets problems during vaccinations. He manhandled her and increased her anxiety and distress tenfold, scruffing her the entire time very tightly. She has never had to be scruffed before, it was aggressive and showed the doctor clearly did not know how to approach animals. This was so unnecessary and made her experience horrible, I was shocked. As a previous vet tech at an animal shelter, I have NEVER had to scruff a cat to the degree that he did for vaccinations, even feral ones. He wouldn't even let me hold her and assured me this was "for their safety". My cat wouldn't have been a risk if it hadn't been for the treatment she received. I feel like a horrible cat mom, I will never let a stranger be that aggressive to my cat EVER again. Learn how to interact with cats, I could've done a better job myself with the limited experience I have, and that's sad. Will never be returning ever again. Don't go here if you have a cat.

They probably thought I was crazy because the moment I asked about him, tears started forming, and I had to sit down before I completely ugly cried. Dr. Tang was a gentle yet strong man. He low-key scared me a little, but he was always so gentle and loving with my fur babies. He listened to my concerns, provided a plan of action, and never rushed to medication unless it was truly necessary. He was reasonable, compassionate, and genuinely cared. I am going to truly miss him. Luna has always been scared of the vet and groomer, it's just not her thing. Today was no different. We were greeted by the front desk staff, who were as kind and welcoming as always. We then made our way to the exam room, where the veterinary technician asked several questions, checked Luna's weight, and took her temperature. Next, we met with Dr. Moore. She was patient, gentle, and recognized that Luna was having a difficult time relaxing. She took her time with her, and before long, Luna warmed up to her. I'm happy to report that Luna is healthy, received her rabies shot, and we were never pressured into purchasing services or treatments she didn't need. It's sad to see some people come on here and tarnish this establishment and its staff. Dr. Tang set a high standard of care, and I believe he would be proud to know those standards continue today. I bought a puppy last year, a sweet 3 months old Biewer Yorkshire Terrier. When I took my puppy for the third DA2PP at three months old, a replacement vet. Insisted that I will need to have total four DA2PP for my dog. December 9th for the third vaccine and December 26 for the forth vaccine. When I took my puppy there on December 26, they gave my dog DAPP vaccine, Rabbits vaccine, and oral Bordetella. There was no advanced notice or approval on both Rabbits vaccine and oral Bordetella/ there is one treatment on December 9th already. My puppy was 11 weeks old and 3.6 lb on Decamber 26. I was very stressed on more than one vaccine in one visit on a such young puppy under 4 lb and there was no owner approval. When I checked out my dog, I raised my concern and disappointed. All I got was " our tech has right to decide what your dog needs." My puppy came home can't move nor eat/drink for hours. I hold her the whole night and had a very hard time worrying if she would had bad outcomes. She was trained properly after two weeks in my house, but started bad behavior issues after December 26 vaccine trauma for three months until now. I don't think that I will bring her back to Best Care Pet hospital any more. It is sad, I worked with Dr. Tang for over 30 years and in the same location with same staffs since Dr. Tang moved to this location. I can't trust this clinic for my dogs any more.

My dachsund was having back issues and was obviously in pain. He needed help and found it at Modern Animal. Doctors Kim and Lazarus diagnosed the issue and prescribed meds that solved the problem and he was back to normal in a few weeks. They have an interesting business model (and a great app). You pay $199 and get free office visits for a year. You stil pay for treatments and meds, but the exam is already included. I wish I'd done that the first time I went. They were just acquired by Chewy.

First off, the office looks old ( old equiptment ) and dirty. In the initial consultation, I was quoted a fee for the spaying and although it was not a competitive price quote, I opted to proceed with an appointment for my dog. When I finally take my dog to the scheduled appointment Dr. Choi told me the surgery would be an additional $50 because my dog was very small. I was a bit bothered by this new revelation since he had previously met my dog and knew her size. I was bothered because he quoted one price in the initial  consultation only to stiff me with an additional $50 on the day of the surgery.  I didnt think it was professional, but opted not to say anything and proceed with the surgery for my dog. Second scam: a few months ago I needed to fly to Florida to visit my folks and the airlines needed  a form filled out. The form needed the doctors address, name, and veterinary license lic number.   $25 to complete the form ( which took 1 minute to complete) $68 to examine my dog ( 1 minute total exam ) $80 for  flea/mosquito  medication because Dr. Choi insisted that since I was going to Florida and there were mosquitos, my dog could get really sick if bitten by one. Unfortunately, they did not have the medication at hand and they would order it. I agreed since I am a new pet owner I just figured this was standard practice.  Total price $173 I couple weeks later I opted to cancel my flight and not go to Florida, I called Dr. Choi's office and told them I would not pick up the mosquito  med after-all since I was not going to Florida and wanted a refund. Dr. Choi personally came to the phone to tell me that they did not give out refunds, rather they would only credit my account. I though this to be very shady business practices, however, I was not in the mood to get into an argument with him and opted to deal with this issue some other time. A few days ago, I decided to go to Florida for a week and decided I should pick up the medication that Dr. Choi had initially recommended ( and that I had already paid for )TO MY SHOCK his receptionist told me and I quote " the medication was $80 however, the price went up $5 since the last time you were here"  I explained to her, that the meds were already paid for ,months ago, she put me on hold only to come back on the phone after speaking to Dr. Choi to tell me, that I must pay the additional $5 if I wanted the meds. THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW! I decided that I was never returning to an office where its all about the MONEY for this doctor.  I do not want anything for free, but I don't want to be scammed by a doctor either.  I drove to the office, SPOKE with Dr. Choi and very matter of fact told him I wanted a refund. He appeared VISIBLY ANGRY, however, gave me back my money ( $80 credit I had with them ). MY DOG and I DESERVE BETTER. and I will never return to see him again. I do not recommend Dr. Cho as vet and I hope I never see the likes of him again.

But I get there and the technician asked me to pick up my dog, and I say I can't because I'm handicap and I have a bad back. The girl says that she has a bad back too that she cannot lift him. I said OK then have the Dr do it for you. This was to put him on the exam table. Technician was sniffling, awful sniffling, so awful, and I am handicap and have a very, very bad immune system, and I was afraid of getting sick. I asked the technician if she had a cold, and she said that she did not have a cold. She ended up picking up my dog. I go in the bathroom, and there's no soap. So I come out and I said to the girl, and by the way there's nobody else in this office that you're out of soap. This was disheartening because you're at a veterinarians office where especially when the person working there has a cold that there's no soap in the bathroom and this is the only restroom that everyone is using. So let me say the technician goes into bathroom and screams out loud. Oh my goodness, paper towels, everywhere what a mess. As if I was the one that did it. So I didn't say anything and then when I go to get checked out, I'm almost charged over $900. OK so this was a mistake that Vet caught it said oh this is somebody else and then the girl says oh it's 200 and something and I'm like huh and then she goes. Oh no it's 386. I'm like OK and then I asked what the expiration date of the dog food is, and she says oh we just got it in. I asked because the last few times I've picked up the prescription dog food. It was due to expire within a month or two. She refused to get me the date and then finally with me asking the third time she goes and gets me the date. Then I said I need the dog food brought to my car, please. The veterinary knows that I'm handicap, because he has helped me to my car several times with the dog food and has been very kind. This review is not about the treatment that I received, although yesterday two vaccines were given to my dog that I was not aware of, and was charged for something that I didn't know that was going to be given. When was the coronavirus vaccine and the other was a deworming. This wasn't too much of a big deal, because it was only like $35 extra, but I had asked the veterinarian what shots was he going to be given and this was not included in what I was told. Anyway, I asked that I needed help out to my car for the dog food, and when I went in the back to my vehicle, the dog food was literally placed on the floor in 100° heat, I went back to the vet and I was the technician because she had been rude to me so far. I came back in and I said your technician has been very rude to me and the veterinarian had to get in the middle between her and I because the girl screamed don't be lying in front of my boss, and she got very aggressive as if she was going to attack me. I called this morning and I was given the third degree by the office manager of whom I think her name is Daniella. She brought me to awful tears, to the point that I drove over there and ended up talking to the veterinarian myself. Daniel ended up saying to me because I told her everything that was going on and for every thing I said she put it back on me. I said well if she was sick she should've been wearing a mask-answer masks are not mandated. However, if someone is sick and they're working in a very small veterinarian office and they're getting about one to 2 feet from you you would think that they should be wearing a mask to protect the patients and the doctor himself. Daniela over the phone said to me I have your phone number. I know what you want. She said that to me several times as if it was a threat I said what do you mean like what do you mean she said you want an apology? I said no I wanna talk to the doctor. She kept refusing to get the doctor for me and I kept saying just have him call me have him call me and she said just talk to me. It goes through me, anyway I ended up driving over there and talking to the veterinarian and I was in tears and the first thing that I said when I got there was and I pointed to her said that she was on the phone and said to me "I have your number I know what you want." And she said he she's lying she's lying and then over the phone told me That if I wrote a bad yelp review, she would just respond back, because they have cameras. Will turns out that they have cameras, but there is no audio. So there were several threats made. I was not mean at all to the technician yesterday for some reason obviously because she didn't feel well. She was not in a good mood and took it out on me. I'm glad that I talked to the doctor. this situation has caused me severe emotional distress and has increased my pain and has increased my blood pressure to 167/91.

Our cat was seen by Dr. Varun Prabakhar for a routine vaccination and was taken into a separate…read moreroom for the procedure. When he was returned to my husband, we were told he might have a reaction for a few days. What followed was not a mild reaction. Our cat came home unable to stand, refusing food, clearly in severe pain, and urinating on himself. He had previously received the same vaccine without any side effects. We contacted the clinic immediately and were repeatedly told this was normal. It was not. After four days of watching our cat in agony with no improvement, we called again and were offered a visit with another veterinarian. At that appointment, we were reassured that everything was fine. The veterinarian manipulated his leg to demonstrate that nothing was wrong and even suggested unrelated care. Meanwhile, our cat continued to suffer. After about a month, he was still severely limping and in obvious pain. We called multiple times. When we were finally able to speak with someone, it was suggested that he may have had a pre-existing condition, which was absolutely not true. We then sought a second opinion. An X-ray immediately revealed a broken hip. We were asked whether he had experienced major trauma, such as being hit by a car. Our cat is strictly indoors and had no access to anything that could explain such an injury. Because of the delay, our cat endured prolonged pain, had to be confined for an extended period, and developed additional strain and arthritis in the other leg. We also incurred significant out-of-pocket expenses. We reported the case to the veterinary board. Afterward, Dr. Prabakhar called my husband expressing concern about the situation and potential consequences. The difference between what we were repeatedly told and what was ultimately discovered is devastating. Our concerns were consistently dismissed while our cat was suffering. Based on this experience, we strongly warn other pet owners not to trust this clinic with serious medical concerns and to seek immediate independent opinions.
