Stopped by for breakfast with the family on a recent trip to the area. I was very happy with Big Y. The service was quick and polite. We did not see the server much but also didn't need a lot. Food came quick and large portions. My son was not a huge fan of the style of pancakes but that's a personal preference. Overall good food, good portions and fast service. Great stop if your camping or staying in the area for a family breakfast. read more

We really like these folks! Great service, very willing to accommodate special orders and fresh-made food. We had to start with their cinnamon roll! Light fluffy dough, light icing and melted butter - it would have been a perfect roll if it had more cinnamon! I wanted to try the Granny Smith apple omelet with German sausage. It was interesting, but not something I would try again. The chopped meat, veggies and apple needs some kind of sauce to bind them. The highlight is that you get to choose your side and I got the Marion berry waffle! Oh yeah - that was all I needed. The omelette came home for tomorrow. They accommodated the 5 special order requests for the Hubbs' hash brown omelette. Great coffee. With a few changes this could be 5+ stars! read more

My beautiful girlfriend and I came to the Big-Y cafe for a late breakfast during our stay in Leavenworth. The food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious! Everything was hot and well seasoned. I ordered the California Benedict, and my girlfriend chose the veggie omelette with diced red potatoes. We ordered a Belgian waffle last second while the waitress was running away! YUM! read more

Beautiful little breakfast/lunch in the middle of the mountains right outside Leavenworth. We left town and came here before we headed off to the rest of our trip. The staff was friendly, food was quick and tasted delicious. Portions were generous! They even offered coffee to go as a refill option. This place was good but not great. It was very warm in the restaurant and stuffy. The service was great but the food was so so. I had the breaded cod special that came with fries and cole slaw. When I received my plate I was disappointed. There were three pieces of soggy fish that was kind of warm. They were barely a bite and a half each. The fries were Luke warm and there were 7 total fries on the plate. The soup was very tasty but certainly not hot. Literally you can see more plate than food. Save your money and go to Wenatchee. Oddly enough for fish go to Red Robbins in Wenatchee. They serve large pieces of fish and bottomless fries although I eat only one helping and cole slaw. It's cheaper and I took food home as the portions were large and well worth it. read more

Best brunch we had during our long weekend in Leavenworth, definitely worth the extra little drive outside of town! Portions are generous, hash browns are perfectly crispy on the outside and hot and fluffy on the inside. Marionberry waffle was divine. Really good bloody mary with great fixings. I decided to drive out from Leavenworth to grab breakfast, since I wanted a break from the tourist traps. Big Y is right off the highway and it immediately had good vibes. An older man saw my car pull up and waved at me with a smile, the kindest welcome I've had during my visit to town. The restaurant is clean, with roomy booths and a good variety of menu items. During my whole visit I was checked on constantly, and the food was fresh and made with love. I had the one egg breakfast with bacon, and a Marion berry waffle. I should've had my waffle first, since it got a little soggy once I finished my savory plate. But the flavor was great, the waffle tasted scratch made. I definitely recommend that anyone visiting Leavenworth or just passing through come through to Big Y Cafe, it is worth the seven minutes to get here. I am visiting Leavenworth for the weekend and the Big Y Cafe is the hidden gem I didn't know I needed. It is about 1 mile outside of the town, so it is much easier to get to when it's busy in town. There was no wait when we got here for a party of 6 which is always a plus! I got the chicken strips and they were hand dipped and delicious! I believe they are more known for breakfast food, so I will definitely have to be back to check that out. I was satisfied with my time here and would recommend if you are in the area!! read more

We spent the weekend here in Leavenworth and we wanted to try something different outside of the town. Our last day in town then we drove to Big Y. We should have stopped here first and made it our last stop before going home. The reviews says it all and we were not disappointed. We got seated right away because there were outside seatings available. There were 3 other parties before us if wanted to eat in. I got the chicken fried steak w eggs and side biscuit and gravy. The steak was on the small side but it was nice and crispy on the outside and tender inside. Biscuit flavorful and flaky, gravy had a nice peppery taste but not overpowering. Overall 5 stars. Wife got the granny smith omelet and side french toast. Omelet was good and tasty. She said it "was Delicious!" French toast was Ok to me. 4 stars. We got the cinnamon roll to go. They packed the whipped butter and frosting in a separate container. Warmed it at home and drizzled the butter and frosting over. Forgot to take a picture before we devoured it. MMMM that was good! Buggah wuz ONO!! Definitely will be back again. First and last stop there to Leavenworth. :) read more

A bit of a drive away from Leavenworth, but so very worth the distance. It was a bit of a wait because it was a bit busy. But the wait staff was on key as soon as a table was open. Huge kid's pancake...it is adult size, so if you're kids like pancakes, they will love it. Highly recommended! read more

Visiting from Texas with the family and was absolutely satisfied! Kids breakfast included a huge pancake. The hashbrown omelette was a great choice. Crispy, moist and hearty. Loved this place. It was dinery and just a normal tasty breakfast that we were looking for. I had the Denver omelette and my partner had the short stack of pancakes (which was a lot of pancakes). Affordably priced, good coffee, and classic breakfast food. Would go back. Only reason for 4 stars is lacking some originality (pretty basic breakfast foods) but at the time that's what we were looking for. Good service and nice environment. read more

We come for breakfast every time we are in Wenatchee or Leavenworth. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Wish I could find a place like this on the west side of the mountains. read more

I visited Big Y Cafe during a busy Leavenworth holiday weekend when I wanted to get out of downtown. It's in a great location if you're heading from Leavenworth back to Seattle via I-90 (or vice versa). There's a large parking lot, and plenty of seating! The eggs Benedict was fantastic, and their pancakes are the biggest pancakes I've ever seen. Service was fantastic, and I loved the ambiance. read more

Let me start by saying, Megan is the best!!! She made us feel extremely welcomed and right at "home." Very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions with detail. We ordered the veggie omelette, german sausage with eggs and pancakes. The food was delicious and huge portions without sacrificing the quality of the ingredients. Megan checked on us constantly and gave us what we needed without us even asking. She always had a smile on her face and is the definition of someone who can light up a room. Please make sure she is taken care of because she is a real gem. Thank you for the amazing experience. Outstanding pancakes!! Huge bigger than the serving platter!! You get one ginormous pancake as a side with your omelet. Great deal. The biscuits and gr as vy were delicious. Oh my word. This little side-of-the-road diner had been recommended several times, but we never prioritized making the trip from either Leavenworth or Wenatchee. Came to brunch here with a part of 10. It was great that we didn't have to wait on a table large enough for us without prior reservation. However the wait was really long for a brunch place. My food came in way longer than the rest of my party (about 10 ish minutes) which was disappointing after the long wait. Also wasn't happy there weren't non-dairy creamers for coffee so I got juice instead. I ordered the long haul with sausage links, eggs and french toast. It was a good size brunch and tasted great. I loved the french toast particularly. Took away a star cause of the wait and creamer situation. Food wise it was good and everyone enjoyed what they ordered! read more

Decided to check out breakfast and brunch options outside of that Bavarian themed town (and prices), and ventured the other way instead. We were very pleasantly surprised! A nice and clean family diner, bustling with activity. Safety protocols for COVID in full effect. We sat at the breakfast bar and enjoy fresh coffee, some fabulous German sausage and eggs, and a nice Bavarian waffle. My wife got this thing called a hash brown omelet and it was amazing! If you're looking for a nice personalized dining experience, but with no frills and a down-home feel that made me fondly remember growing up in a small town as a kid, then do stop in and give these folks your business. The Big Y Cafe was established in 1939 at the entrance of blewett pass, in 1984 it was moved to its current location just down the street on highway 2

My wife Angie & I recently took over operation of the Big Y Cafe in November 2015. Angie & I met and worked together at the Big Y when we were teenagers. now 35 years later and restaurant #3 we have come back to the Big Y and feel like we are at home

Good food, outrageous prices. For the cost of breakfast for two ($45), I could have purchased a case of eggs ($8), 2 pounds of bacon ($16), a 5lb bag of potatoes ($3) and a loaf of bread ($3) and had $15 and a ton of food left. So I guess the 50¢ eggs, the $1 bacon the 15¢ toast and the 25¢ coffee with the 30¢ potatoes leaves the owners with enough to pay the waitress who only took my order and deliver my food, the cooks that cooked it the workers who slave to generate the electricity, the property tax on the building... etc. ok. I see why now that breakfast costs me 3 hours of work at my low paying job. Lmao read more
