I came here on a Saturday evening at 7:30pm and was told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. I gave my phone number and had a drink at Cranky Sam next door while I waited for my phone to ring. They recommend making reservations the day before or ordering to-go which will be quicker. You can do half and half of two different kinds of pizza for only $1 which is great because I can try multiple flavors. The total for a 12" split pizza was $16.50. I ordered the caramelized goat and the meatball verde and they were both fantastic! The meatball verde and especially the cilantro-jalapeno sauce was to die for! It was so flavorful I could not get enough of it. The caramelized onions and the goat cheese are also really good and pair well together with a balance of salty and sweet. My friend said the house pizza was good - lots of cheese, great crust. It looked and smelled good! Service was fine. But the gluten free pizza crust was unholy. It had been cut, but I had to saw away at the cut lines with a knife to dislodge a slice. I asked them to recut it. That helped some and I was able to eat a couple slices. The sauce was good. Good amount of cheese. The crust I had to chew - a lot - like it was shredded melted plastic water bottles and glue formed in a circle. Please stop offering this crust as a food item. Called them at 7:40 pm to order a pickup. It was a small order and they said it would be ready at 8:25 pm. Not too bad a wait so we were fine with it and showed up at 8:25 and they made us wait 20 minutes because it wasn't ready. Having already waited for a long time we took our food and left and were SUPER nice about it. We ordered a gluten free cheese pizza because my girlfriend is allergic to gluten and they made it with normal crust. We walked back in and I told them we wanted a gluten free cheese pizza and that's what we had ordered. One of the workers walked up to us and said "yeah I didn't hear gluten free on the phone" and I REMEMBER CALLING AND SHE MADE SURE IT WAS GLUTEN FREE ON THE PHONE. So how did she not hear it? Then we couldn't wait for another pizza to be made because it was late. So we asked for money back or store credit and the lady talked down to us like we were idiots. I had eaten here once a few years ago and remembered I really liked the pizza, so I had to stop in again. The service was awesome. Brooke was great and very helpful. The restaurant has a cool pizza shop vide to it with a large pizza oven in view. I stated with the Caesar salad which was great. Their basil lemonade hit the spot. For pizza I tried the Vesuvio and the 4 cheese and hot honey. They were both great pies. Their dough and sauce are on point for sure. We ordered a large cheese pizza with tons of toppings. I wanted to add an update to my previous review, as I recently placed a catering order with Biga and found the experience to be top-notch. I don't think most people know that Biga caterers, but they do!! Planning an event can be super stressful, but working with Bob from Biga was the easiest part of a recent event that I planned. He could not have been more accommodating! I had guests coming into town from all over the country and every single one of them raved about how good the food was at our event (even those from foodie cities like SF and Portland). Came here twice. Once in 2019, and again in 2023. We really liked it in 2019. The dough, the crust was extremely good, and so was all the other ingredients. After that experience, when we went to other pizza places we would often ask ourselves - how does this stack up to Biga? So far no other pizza restaurant has dethroned it. I initially thought "biga" meant "big" but after some intense googling, I was wrong. According to Google, "Biga is a type of pre-fermentation used in Italian baking. Many popular Italian breads, including ciabatta, are made using a biga. Using a biga adds complexity to the bread's flavor and is often used in breads that need a light, open texture with holes." Whatever Biga Pizza is doing, they need to keep doing it because their pizza definitely had a complex and delicious flavor. And this is coming from someone who's taste buds have sadly been impacted by COVID. It's that good. [Star1] Food quality? As I was eating here, I struggled to recall a more superior pizza I had tasted. I loved that you could split the pizza's so my boyfriend and I went big. We got 2 large pizzas (we definitely got looks) and split them each. We got the Prosciutto & Fig, Hungarian Mushroom, Flathead Cherry, and the Sweet Potato, Bacon & Maple Chipotle. I don't think I experienced the full depth of flavor on most of the pizzas (ie. For the Flathead Cherry, I sadly couldn't taste the smoked gouda or the hazelnuts on the Sweet Potato one) but it was still dang good. The crust had a light airy texture and tasted delicious dipped in their chili oil. Star+++ for me. [Star2] Price Point? These pizzas were definitely on the pricier side considering the large was $22 and an extra $1 for the half and half pies. But we had so many leftovers it fed us for a solid two meals after.
