Eating here for us was pretty much one disaster after another. Honestly some of it was just a string of bad luck for them. We got seated not too long after our reservation time. When ordering wine we somehow managed to order two different bottles that they were out of. They attempted to run to another restaurant to look for them but were unsuccessful. As a result we didn't get served our third choice of wine until our meal came out. I had the ribeye. It was pretty big and alright. My wife had the chicken and as she got a few bites into it, she discovered it wasn't cooked. We flagged down a manager and he recognized the issue immediately and offered to take care of it. BAKED BREAD: I don't mean this lightly when I say this is the best thing I ate at Universal!!! The herb butter and peach preserves combo was immaculate. I would sit at the bar with a glass of wine and eat this next time. SCALLOPS: they were prepared well however, I felt the sauce was too much for scallops. A simple lemon butter would have been a lot better, in my opinion! FILET: you can really taste the flavor from the wood. I loved it! Very tender and cooked to the perfect medium. BEEF BURGUNDY: this entree is definitely worth a try if you don't want something from the grill! Loved the onions and mushrooms. Overall, very flavorful and hearty. Feels like a home-cooked meal. So, after fun night with my daughter at Heloween nights we decided to pop in to Big Fire hence both of us are steak. We decided to order the brad and the big rib eye to share. This was by far the best meal we had in Orlando. My wife and I split the special (golden tile fish) and the bison burger. Service was on point and the waitress even took extra time to give us a sample of their applesauce mixed with strawberry that she admitted that some kids liked and others didn't. so rather than wasting food, she gave our kids a taste. From the menu it looks like it's going to be good steaks and decent entrees. The restaurant itself is decent as decor wise goes. Wide open areas and then crammed in side rooms. The steaks are a disappointment. The flavor is so-so. If it wasn't for the fact it was over an open fire was really the only flavoring it had. The steak itself so thin and plenty of fat. For almost $40 for a steak one would think it would be a better quality cut. The sides are minimal and lacking much flavor. The pasta was ok. Had some good flavor and seasoning. **Bar Seating Review** Big Fire has some the better food offered at City Walk. The theming, menu options, BOURBON options (so many allocated options that are super hard to come across in Orlando), fresh food, and friendly service made this visit memorable. Giovani, Chris, and Azkadelia were great. Food wise, I ordered the skillet roasted mussels and the wood charred Brussels sprouts. Both were very flavorful, and the portions were good for the price point. Drink wise, I had a bird dog chocolate Manhattan, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness to bitterness. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice sit down dinner around property. They open a bit later than most restaurants, so just keep that in mind. Update: After my last, not so stellar, review, Universal asked me to come back and try it again. This time was a complete 180. Our server our last time was great, but this night our server was too notch, offering recommendations, pairings, and timing everything to bring items out perfectly. Our table had a pretty good selection of the menu, no lamb chops, sirloin, and about every side on the menu, plus dessert. This time around, I , and my friends, really enjoyed the experience and would come back. Though I didn't go for the fried chicken, the sirloin, crispy potatoes, and veggies are great options. If you like your desserts sweeter, go for the apple pie, if more savory, the floorless chocolate cake was amazing. But, definitely go for the smoked maple old fashioned! read more

Atmosphere is about the best thing you can say about this place. The menu can be found at almost any Universal City Walk restaurant. For a steak place, you have four or five choices, none of which are very impressive. Not bad, but nothing to write (or text) home about. Our server was less than happy (which happens), but it was off-putting. We almost stopped at an appetizer or two and thought we'd get something back at the hotel instead...but we thought we'd stick it out. WE WERE WRONG. My steak, ordered medium-well, came out so dry that the manager, who I did not ask to see, kindly asked twice to replace it. I had already (by this time), spent 1 hour and 45 minutes in the restaurant and thought that was enough of an investment. Then we discovered that my son's burger was raw. We did have the restaurant re-do the burger and then ate, paid the bill and left. I didn't eat my steak, and they did take it off the bill. This was more than a matter of the restaurant having a bad night. The entire restaurant model was poorly thought-out. They have a full capacity of 450 people, But a Kitchen they could probably only handle 200 people. Food was late at every table around us. There were long lines outside of both the men's room and the ladies room. The reception area overflowed with people waiting for their tables, And with an overburden kitchen, and late delivery of food to tables, this problem only got worse as the evening went on. All of the restaurants at Universal City Walk get really busy around dinnertime, as in- you better have reservations in advance or you aren't nomming until 11pm most likely. We were dum dums and forgot about this little detail on our last trip, which resulted in us getting in a very long line to leave our phone number for the wait list. When we found out that bar seating was open, we were lucky to snag two seats and just order from here. The restaurant has a nice modern design and a high ceiling with contemporary hardwood, white brick walls, and black piping and edison lighting. The bar has a nice wrap around design and featured comfy seating. The bartender was very helpful and got us drinks straightaway. It was great to see the gf designations on the menu making it easy for me to find gluten free options. We really enjoyed the brussels sprouts we had here that had nice spicy peppers with them. Our drinks were also great and the husband was super pleased that his Moscow mule was served in a copper mug. Beef burgundy was pretty good. Oysters Rockefeller-awful Burgers- OK Seafood bake- sausage and potatoes good, the rest...just skip it. Coke $4.25. Barely got 1 refill. If Universal spent more time focusing on quality of food...it would make all the difference in the world. Why not try to blow the socks off your customers? All in all, Bigfire is a good choice to head to after a day at the theme parks and is priced appropriately for being on CityWalk. Service is friendly and the environment is relaxing and a good vibe, however it remains noncommittal about the kind of food that is offered in this restaurant. I grabbed the cheeseburger here, which was definitely a good choice. It was a bit expensive, but I would rather be overcharged for good food as opposed to being overcharged in the theme parks for what is basically fast food. I will say that the steaks also looked pretty good. All in all, Bigfire is a great selection to grab a meal, whether you opt for a burger or a steak or whatever. I would definitely recommend a visit to Bigfire and I will offer it four stars. read more

This is the typical case of .. "it's me, not you". Due to restrictions and dietary habits, there are a lot of items on the menu that simply do not consume. This is, however, not Bifire's fault. So, having said that, there are a handful of items, mostly plant based, and on occasion a couple of Fish dishes that we enjoy. We have yet to be disappointed. The service is attentive and warm, good job on upselling the menu, although we are not takers. Credit where credit is due. This is a great spot in City Walk. I've been a couple of times and it doesn't disappoint. By far my favorite thing is the Mac and cheese. So delicious. It's one of our fave spots for date night when we go to Universal. The ambiance is great and we love the drink selection. Our favorite is to sit in the second floor. The service is always great and staff tries to accommodate as best they can. I came to Bigfire along with my two coworkers, as well three other people who were vendors from two different companies with do work with. This was the final night we were all at a conference and we all wanted to have a great dinner and have fun. This was our first stop of the night, an absolutely amazing night... one of the best I had had since the pandemic began. And coming here for dinner really set the tone. Loved the atmosphere here, Bigfire is rustic and casual. The waiter came and got our drink and meal orders. I started the night with some cider. The table ordered apps which were several orders of the Bourbon Cheese Fondue. We got orders with both the cola braised pork and the Andouille sausage. Absolutely delicious!!! I especially loved the one with sausage. I ordered a filet mignon. Perfection! Just perfection! You could really taste the difference being cooked over wood fire gave it. Wonderful meal! Pretty good for American fare in the City Walk area. The space was formerly emeril's, but has since been reimagined as an American grill with a 1000 degree grill as the focal point kitchen. Had a burger and the smashed potatoes here. It was good, and the little potatoes were excellent. Could have enjoyed a few more potatoes tho. Liked it overall and I would come here if I were in the area. It felt very cozy and midwestern. The service was okay, some slowness and mixed up orders. I ordered a salad before my dinner and they gave it to someone else in our party without asking who ordered the salad, just plopped it down in front of the wrong person. I ordered a sirloin steak since I wasn't a fan of their filet mignon last time. It was surprisingly a leaner and tastier cut which I was happily surprised by. Honestly, I'm not sure why the rating is currently where it is. I made reservations with friends and the husband last night around 6:15. Prices are high but you're definitely paying for what you get as far as quality. Plus, keep in mind, this is technically a theme park property restaurant. We all got water for our table, and I'll be honest, I'm kind of a water snob. Florida water is terrible. Their water was filtered and chilled. Next we're cocktails. My friend and I had the PB&J old fashioned. Yummy and sweet. We also ordered the fish dip and fondue. Both were great. One thing I will note is a good quality restaurant such as this should have a good variety of hot sauce. The fish dip was great but adding a little sriracha hit the spot. They had Tabasco, but I'm not a fan. I'm more of a chaloula kinda gal. Main course was the salmon dinner ($31) . The veggies were grilled to perfection and the salmon had a delicious crisp outside and wicked tender on the inside. My husband had the ribeye and he must have loved it because he was in the clean plate club:) All in all, we had a fantastic dinner and service was great. Not my first choice based on prices and options but my friend had her birthday dinner here so I finally got to check it out. Located right by the water in the middle heading towards Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Their menu consist of open fire food with flavors enhanced by different smoked woods. The decor is very modern here which pairs well with American fare. I like the open kitchen concept. I found this place very promising but I was a little let down. For starters it took a hour for a group of 9 but this is to be expected with bigger groups and they do not take reservations. It was very hot the entire meal. The big fire makes it a very big hot room. Our service was slow and they don't do anything special for birthday guest. Even just a Happy Birthday on their plate or acknowledgment is kind. For my actual dining experience: I found their drinks overpriced and basic. I got the Rosemary Salty Dog. It was very light and refreshing but with 90% ice it felt like a sipper which is costly at over $13. For an appetizer I had the mussels. They do give you a decent amount for $12. Some of them were very grainy so that was unpleasant. For my entree I got salmon. My plate was overcrowded with mushrooms which is great but they lacked flavor and didn't add to the dish. The vegetables were on the raw side. My friends got burgers and wedge fries. The fries were delicious but that's not what should stand out. Overall for a universal restaurant I wasn't very impressed. If I'm going to be spending over $60 for a meal I would hope I'm wowed and I can't say I was. read more
