Lamb chops are so juicy, tender and filling! My boyfriend loved his burger and said it was juicy and filling as well. Cheese fondue was such a great appetizer! We really didn't like the poblano peppers, asked waiter for replacement and he was more than happy to give us extra carrots instead. Bread was good but needs to be served warmer! Excellent meal. Our party of 5 enjoyed the fondue appetizer. We wish there was a little more of the dippers as we had a lot of fondue leftover but delicious nonetheless. We all got ribeyes and my daughter and I shared one so I got a side salad too. It was more than enough for the 2 of us. Our friends got the Mac and cheese and they enjoyed it. Fiancee and friends were raving about this place for its steaks. The environment is nice for things like an anniversary dinner. The steak was delicious, it had enough marbling and flavor at just the right amount of seasoning. The meat was burnt around the edges but not enough for me to enjoy the rest. Not exactly sure if it's worth 60 dollars but compared to outback steakhouse, I'd still go to outback. We were very Impressed with the quality of the food and service for a restaurant on City Walk. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because after the entree was delivered, no one came to our table to ask if we liked the temperature our steaks were cooked at. My filet was over cooked, while the ribeye was undercooked. Restaurants here are usually successful because of their location, they don't need repeat customers to succeed. Where do I begin?? I would not go back. service was slow and mediocre. The cheese fondue was cold velveeta type with soggy vegetables, crackers and 2 pieces of bread. We had to send back a steak that was a hockey puck in nature. The jambalaya was over seasoned and mostly rice. We couldn't get our knife through the over cooked chicken sandwich. Universal just has never seem to gotten the food/restaurant thing down. We wanted to try this new place and while it wasn't that bad it wasn't great enough to return to again. The dining room is largely unchanged from how it was as Emerils. The more casual menu and atmosphere do make it much louder however and the high ceilings don't help to capture noise. The bathrooms had only one stall so that made for a few upset guests that we overheard while waiting to use it ourselves. The service was super slow and we kept joking how the next time he came to table we would just do all steps (ordering, paying etc) just to get it all out of the way because we were not sure when we would see him again. For appetizer we got the fried green tomatoes. The combo of burrata, pesto and white balsamic was pretty tasty. The pesto was slightly salty which combined with the salted breading of the tomatoes was a little much. For entrees we got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Seafood Bake. The chicken sandwich was dry to say the least. The bread crumbled to the point we just ate the chicken and toppings separately. Grilled chicken can fall into the realm of overcooked easily and this was. The seafood bake was overall good. The broth was flavorful as was the shrimp, potatoes and corn. I would have liked some clams or something else other than mussels but wasn't bad overall. Not the worst meal we had at universal for sure. Just not something that would draw us back. Absolutely amazing! Everything, including the reservation process, atmosphere, service and food was perfection. Aaron was truly a one of a kind waiter who really made us feel welcome and catered to our every need. I would go back over and over just to sit in his section. My husband and I were in Orlando for a couples getaway for my birthday. After looking at all of the restaurants at City Walk, this is the place I wanted to eat at for my birthday so I booked reservations online. The process to book was so easy! Our table was ready within 10 minutes of arriving. I'm the meantime, we visited the bar and the drinks were 10/10. When our table was ready, we were promptly greeted by our waiter, Aaron. He recommended some of the most popular dishes since we had never visited before which I appreciated. We started with the bread and it was nice and warm and fresh. I do think it would be nice as a complementary item vs. an item on the menu. For dinner, Hubby and I got the wedge salad with steak and the trout. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The steak was nice and tender and flavorful and the trout was perfectly cooked. Hubby even ate the veggies which he doesn't typically do. For dessert, we had the tabletop s'mores which was so fun! Our waiter even put a candle in a marshmallow for my birthday! So sweet! There's nothing negative we can say about our experience at Big Fire and we hope to return every time we are in Orlando. We were very excited to try Bigfire and it's a totally worthy addition to the Citywalk restaurant options. We arrived before they even opened for the day and were still seated immediately, so that was really nice. Our table was right next to the fire pit where they cook all the food, which was pretty much hypnotizing to look at throughout the meal. Really unique centerpiece for the restaurant. Our waiter was quick and informative. He seemed to know a lot about the menu, which was fantastic considering it had only been open for about a week. It's a great mark of how well they're training their employees here to know their product. We ordered the warm cheese & spinach dip first which was really delightful. The bread had a good char on it which added flavor to the bite. It was a great appetizer. I got the bison burger for my entree which I wasn't overly impressed with. I wanted to be, but it was a little drier than I thought it should've been. My side was the mac & cheese with pork belly which actually WAS super yummy. My mom said her steak was one of the best she's ever had, so that was high praise. based on that, hopefully I'll be more impressed with the next entree I get to try here. read more

Perfect addition to the CityWalk restaurant offerings! This new restaurant took over the Emeril's spot and offers "American" food that is fresh, tasty and cooked over various woods. The restaurant itself looks fresh and modern both on the inside and outside. It is a bit light on theming but that seems to be the direction Universal is going these days. We were sat in a small row of tables above the bar on the second floor. It sounds weird but it was an amazing spot to sit. Quiet and perfect in this loud and busy restaurant. Service seemed like it could use a little more training time. Our server wasn't particularly warm or friendly and everyone who came to the table to deliver food seemed rushed and confused. The food itself was very solid. The bread starter (ugh... I hate paying for bread!!) was great with the peach jam and herbed butter. Fried green tomatoes and burrata starter was also good. For entrees, the burger was great! Flavorful with fresh toppings and almost perfectly cooked. My dining companion got the pork chop which was a big portion and juicy and flavorful. If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a meal outside of theme parks but still on universal property this is a great choice. The atmosphere is very homely and compared to your typical theme park restaurant it isn't to loud. Also if you are seated in the right section you will ever be able to view the grill! They pride themselves on using unique wood to grill their meets. I went for the hearth chicken. I really enjoyed every part of this meal expect for the sauce. It was a little to creamy for me to be with a chicken dish like this. The chicken itself was cooked really nicely and had a good flavor. The fried dumplings where also really really nice. The grilled vegetables where great! I really loved the way they cooked the zucchini with just a touch of salt. The star of the show for me however was the cheese biscuit. That was a true decadent delight. I also tried a few things from around the table. The New York Strip Steak someone else ordered was cooked to perfection! I also had some very good cornbread. Only negative for me was the price. This 100% is a little bit on the pricey side. Overall a great choice in the universal area! read more

Well, this folks is a pretty interesting place. You might think it's a steak house concept, but you'd be wrong. There is still some test and adjust going on, wait staff was helpful in recommending what's been the "hits" and the misses. What we had, well it was good! Some highlights.. well first look THEY HAVE PAPPY! yes that's right, PAPPY the Whisky. Something you do NOT normally find in a theme-park, so wow! Just for that alone I will give them extra points. Beer Glazed Scallops, these were more sweet than beer flavor and honestly a STAND OUT DISH. WOW. Amazingly good. Didn't get to really try the steaks, but saw some other tables, looked pretty good. All in all, I'd say this is a worthy place to stop if you want a "upscale" meal, but without the upscale atmosphere. In other words, if you want to enjoy a $100 pappy drink while your kids eat macaroni and cheese, you could do that here. Kinda odd right, normally that kinda price point of a drink means a night out for the parents. But, hey it somehow ends up working out okay at Big-fire, so give it a try. read more

I wanted a light meal on this very hot day after enjoying a day at Universal Studios. I ordered asparagus soup. My husband ordered the same. We came with a big group. The soup was presented with a baby spoon. That was odd, just letting it get cold quick, I thought. This soup was awful. I love asparagus and I love soup. I have eaten here a number of times at this restaurant, so i thought it was a good idea. I told the waiter I did not like it a bit. he did not seem to care. I added as many things as I could from other people's meals but it did not help. I appreciated the spices in it just there was so little of it. It tasted like I was drinking a raw asparagus spear. I did not want to tell anyone at the table as they all enjoyed the steaks. We paid for the table and ate a bit of bread. Since it was a big table, the tip was taken automatically. Otherwise, I would have had a moment with the waiter. I told him we needed bigger spoons, and he said there were none. I told him we did not like the soup. He did not pay any attention. Disappointing he should have offered something else that I would have been ok with. So steaks are great there. Order them if you don't want steaks eat somewhere else, I guess. read more

The wedge salad with New York strip was the perfect sized meal. My wife had the grilled Chicken Sandwich with apricot, lettuce, grilled red onions, pesto and loaded fingerling potatoes . We shared a Bo le of Merlot and had a great evening. Our waiter Louie was attentive and a conscientious high end server. My family and I were visiting Citiwalk in January. They were able to seat a party of 5 with no reservations on a Sunday evening. January seems to be a slow time in Orlando. The food ambience and service were impeccable. Our server was Ali. He was great. Attentive and educated about the menu. We ordered the mussels and chicken flatbread as appetizers. Both were outstanding. I had the special which was whitefish my husband the scallops. I highly recommend both. Kids ate normal kids menu items however the Mac n cheese on the kids menu was delicious not your regular craft Mac n cheese. I went to Bigfire American grill after leaving the amusement park. It was the worst experience I ever had while at a Universal Orlando ProperTm!!! We checked-in only to be seated several minutes after another party of 2 arrived 10 mins after we did. Once seated, we were placed under the air vent which was blowing extremely cold air. It then took more than 10 minutes to be greeted by our sever. She greeted us with an excuse for having us wait. We then had to request water and menu's. When she came back we asked to be placed at a table away from the air flow. Once we ordered, it took another 15-20 mins. to receive our meals. The bread was somehow a crouton on one side and bread on the other. The meat though? An assault. Pretty sure they went to the nearest house fire and asked if they could just throw their steaks in there. No flavor other than burning house. Dinner @8:15pm- 2 adults. First time visit. Pros: This eatery gets a 1 star because the items we ate (not drank, however) were delicious and accurately prepared. An annual pass discount is offered. Cons: Napkins and silverware was not provided until after we finished our appetizer. When I asked our server, she said she'd have to hunt some down. (We never received it). I had to stand up and approach another employee who said she would bring some to my table (she never did). I had to approach a 3rd person to ask for a napkin/ silverware and eventually it came from our server. The unsweetened iced tea is absolutely disgusting. My friend ordered a sprite. It tasted like flat club soda. We tried a second, which was not sprite, and again tasted like flat club soda. He switched to coke, which tasted like flat club soda. There was a long wait for beverages, which is unacceptable. The process of changing out the drinks lasted the duration of my meal and he didn't end up with a beverage at all. While I appreciate the items being removed from my bill of course, I was hoping for the follow up/ replacements to be expedited. Summary- There are plenty of other options in CW or at the resort hotels I would venture to before this location in the future I may have a hard time returning here based on dinner tonite. After looking at the menu this new place in city walk looked very promising.. we messed up our reservations at another restaurant and needed to find a place fast on a busy night and we first came here and guess what.. the hostess made room for us at the bar.. amazing! We got offered 9:30-11:pm at other places but big fire saw an opportunity to get a customer and made the sell. So the place is decorated amazing the wood fire with the steaks was mesmerizing, we sat at the bar and was able to order easily off of the full menu. We both got burgers I chose the bison and my wife got the big fire burger but excellent. You can taste a lot of flavor and the beef was cooked very well. The fries were ok nothing fancy and we got salads and they were nice and simple. The portions are pretty standard for a steakhouse style restaurant. The ambience is a cool set up to resemble dining somewhere on a mountain side with clean and modern decor. The carrots were the most amazing flavored carrots I have ever had. I would order a side of carrots and the cauliflower roasted next time. We were not impressed with the fondue. It was lumpy and not what I expected for cheese fondue. But, like I said the veggies that came with it were awesome. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection.
