This Biggby location is on my beaten path so I can't explain why, after two years of driving past, I never stopped until recently. It might be in part because it is tucked into the corner of a small kind of run down strip of shops that just never caught my eye. But there is nothing run down inside this java joint and the service is excellent. And now that I've stopped once, I can't seem to pass by without going in. I am a bigby fan. I love the bragels- have to have one when I am having a rough day. I also really like the iced teas and flavored coffees. However, at this specific location, my order is either incorrect or forgotten about 80% of the time. For example, a few weeks ago I was the first in line and ordered a bragel. The employee at the register proceeded to help two other people in line prior to starting my order or communicating it to the other employee. After 5 minutes of helping other customers, they turned around to put my bagel in the toaster. 5 minutes later realized the toaster was not on, plugged it in and waited another 5 minutes to check on it. Then realized the toaster was broken and told the manager on duty. The manager then also proceeded to ignore the issue for another 5 minutes before telling me. I would like to think this was a one-off situation and that maybe the employee was new, but this is just one example of the same type of service i have received often at this location. They never communicate with each other or the customer and always seem disorganized. I would not recommend this location to anyone. The only reason i go is when i am desperate for a bragel and have time to spare. read more

Came in here for some tea and we were not disappointed. First time I tried the hot cinnamon spice and it was so good I ended up buying some from my local store. We didnt buy it in Biggby only because it was so much more expensive. We also tried the Chinese flower and it was pretty good. read more

I had never been to a Biggby Coffee until this location opened not far from my home. Have had nothing but good experiences. I sense that the Biggby cafes appeal a lot to people who like their coffee amended with syrups, whipped cream, and the like, because such drinks dominate the menu, and I am not a fan. So on my first visit, I ordered my usual plain espresso drink, and it was terrific. As it has been on every subsequent visit. But honestly, it isn't the coffee that makes me happiest about this Biggby. It's the people who work there. Is it massive infusions of the coffee that makes them so happy and friendly and outgoing even very early in the morning? Whatever it is, they have won me over completely. They give your day a good kick-start, and that, plus a good Americano, is what I want from my local cafe. The decor is bright, cheery, and comfy too. read more

They always greet you as soon as you enter, and strike up conversations with their customers. More spacious than most coffeeshops--a good 2-3 feet between tables, which means no one will be bumping your chair pulling out their own or reaching around your legs to plug in their laptop. The coffee is...Biggby. Not the best and not the worst. Staff is friendly and accomodating. All that prevents this from being a comfortable space to work and nurse a java is the music. It's ridiculously loud. With my earbuds in I had to crank my internet radio to eardrum-bruising levels to drown it out. Without them the music was too distracting for me to do much except gulp my coffee. Been like this on both visits I've made here. Turn down the lights, get a liquor license, and you'd have a dance club here. read more

The location is great: right on Washtenaw, and just down the street from Dom's! The atmosphere is relaxed, but it's the staff that really makes this shop great! They greet every customer as soon as they enter, and are quick to chat or even strike up conversations. The staff makes their customers feel welcome and valued. I love this location. The staff is so nice, it really gives me a nice start to the day when I take a few minutes to stop here. I recently tried the Neapolitan latte on my free drink visit (get the card!) and it's amazing. This store is, without question, a gathering place for the neighborhood. I love coming in and seeing people meet up here, whether it's community-minded people having conversations about getting more involved in the city, students from EMU just down the street coming to a study group, or the regular group of seniors that gather with their coffee to catch up. I feel like this is pretty much everyone's favorite spot to suggest when they want somewhere to gather and relax. And there's a good reason for it! The baristas are always very friendly, and great at remembering their regular customers. Everyone here seems to really care and put in the effort to make people's days better. This Biggby helped me get through my graduate degree! I'm really glad for this positive and friendly part of the community. read more

This is not only my favorite Biggby around, it's my favorite place to get coffee in general. There are other places more convenient to my commute, but I don't mind going out of my way to go here because the staff is friendly and the coffee is great. And as for the frozen lattes, I appreciate the fact that you can actually taste the coffee in it here.....something that is lacking at a competitor further down Washtenaw. I usually come before school because I need my supper soy latte with a 1/2 shot of vanilla :) The baristas at this location are seriously the NICEST people I have came across in the serving industry. I've been to other locations and been disappointed but not here. Cinnamon spice latte was the bomb. My only complaint was that I used a buy one get one coupon then noticed the special of the day was buy one get one. When I commented that I wouldn't have wasted my coupon the clerk said too late. This location is foul. The workers there were so rude, not just to the customers but to each as well. When I went in there was ONE girl doing all the drinks and several other employees just standing or walking around when there were people in front of and behind me, and when I got to the front the cashier didn't greet me and was very short tempered. He acted like he didn't want to answer any questions or even be bothered with working. This has happened several times with several different staff, I'm fed up. The manager, Will or Bill, was cold to the employees and nonchalant when they asked for help. The only good thing about this location is the drinks. If you want to waste your money on bad attitude and slow service, there's a Starbucks on EMU's campus down the street. read more

Been to several Biggby Coffee locations. It is amazing how superior this one is to the other locations. Great Customer Service! The staff is very friendly and well trained. The smoothies they prepare are consistent in taste which may not seem like a major attribute but that isn't the case at other locations. Nice atmosphere! read more
