Fun place. Great ambience! Unique decor. Located in RiNo. Location may seem a little bit odd at first - next to railroad tracks and a new light rail station. But that actually adds to its uniqueness. Creative and interesting appetizers. They make their own beer and wine on premises. We celebrated my daughter's birthday there and it was great fun. They have a private room that can be reserved for individual parties. The owner is very hands-on, making sure that everything is taken care of for you. Very knowledgeable staff on the wines on offer. Its a winery and a full bar which is unique in Denver. Great space for parties . We tried quite a bit of their menu, their cured meats and flatbread is a perfect accompaniment to their wines. read more

Just had a catered party here. Food was good but not enough, ended buying more, VERY pricey overall. Was told we can play our own music, not true at all, the venue controlled the music through streaming of their own device. Was asked if could change the music to accommodate venue customers at the time we were actually thinking of dancing. They kept bringing people into our party space from outside to check out the venue while our party was going on, we had money and gifts laying around due to nature of party, this was very uncomfortable. Our party wasnt over for another 30 minutes and they let a whole other party into the space we had rented without asking us. It is a beautiful venue and the staff were friendly. It could work out for another type of event or person, but I found the fact that we couldnt have our own music to listen to and dance to and lack of privacy not worth the price. I wouldnt recommend it for a fun party. read more

Bigsby's Folly is an absolutely MUST if you are in the Denver area. We were visiting from Chicago and stumbled upon this winery. The wine is amazing and the food is great! I love this place. I've lived in the neighborhood since before it was cool and out of all the new comers (and old school places for that matter) over the last decade +, this has to be my hands down favorite. First and foremost, their wine is good, really good, like California good (better than the other place in the neighborhood, rhymes with shminfinte shmonkey). And they have beer and spirits for those who may not be into wine (you can't really say that about all the beer centric places in the neighborhood). They're also fairly well priced. The food? Delicious. It's fun and interesting without being over-top-creative. This is a big deal for people like my husband who can be turned off by food that is unapproachable. The only "down-side," if you want to call it that, they switch up their menu seasonally so one of your favorites might disappear. I've also had two friends hold birthday celebrations here and the owners were super easy to work with and they didn't have some crazy "minimum" to meet. The interior is super fun with bar seating, high tops and fun conversational vignettes. And their patio is dog friendly...good wine, good food, and dogs...these are my people. I will say,, the service can be a little slow, but it's a tasting room not a full service restaurant so it really didn't bother me. And finally, add to the long list of things I love about Bigsby's...I can walk there! Yay! read more

I can't recommend Bigsby's Folly highly enough. I hosted my birthday party here and had about 30 guests with a dog event. Cassie, the Events Manager, was extremely accommodating and attentive. She provided whatever we needed and was so helpful. Mike, our server, was also excellent. He went above and beyond to provide great service. The food and drinks were outstanding and my guests were so happy. I would definitely recommend hosting your event here or stopping by for drinks. Went to Bigsby's for NYE. Not really worth the $99.00. They had a wedding DJ playing music for a themed roaring 20's party. The food was ok but the set up was terrible. Two different areas to get basic food. One area was just cheeses, meats basically a large charcuterie plate. The other small finger food was in the middle of all the standing tables. This whole thing was not thought out well rather just put together. They should have moved their tables and sofas to where the DJ was. This would have opened the area to bring all food offerings together. You had people walking around the center food table to go dance. They have a TV but it wasn't on so you couldn't even watch any NYE events going one. They kept turning the overhead lights up. Not sure why its a bar. Overall, they have all year to make a great event but it felt like they just through it together. They need to hire an event person and change the theme. read more

Oh this place is so dreamy!!! A lovely hideaway in downtown Denver! The small plates are, just that, small portions, but yummy. We ordered 4 small plates and the malbec they make themselves and we were very happy customers. Still hungry, but very satisfied. Can't wait to return and savor more of the ambiance, good food and good wine! read more

Pretty disappointed with Bigsby's. I was here in Denver visiting a friend who recently moved to the area and we were super excited to try this place. I live in and am from California so obviously I have a California ID. I am almost 25 years old but unfortunately still have a vertical ID. Multiple people came to look at our ID's because maybe thought they were fake? Anyway, we were ultimately turned away and told that vertical ID's are not accepted and that they aren't even accepted in California for alcohol sales.. this is NOT true as I have had this ID for almost FOUR years now and have NEVER had a problem anywhere both in California and Colorado. I dont appreciate being turned away and told that my ID isn't accepted in the state I live in when it clearly is. Seemed like a nice place that I would have enjoyed. Sucks I was turned away because the lady thought she knew what she was talking about. read more

Beautiful place, but disappointed with the service. We arrived after noon on Saturday and there were 2 events going on in their event spaces. When we sat we were told that we were not able to do a flight due to a lack of glassware. After ordering a glass of wine a group came in and sat at a table with a different server. They were able to order flights and had the wines explained to them. Since I work in the industry I look forward to trying wines in different states. Not the best first impression. read more

On Saturday around 7:00, we found bad service (plenty of staff -- just no one paying attention to tables...) and a room too loud to talk. I attended a luncheon there with a group and had a wonderful time! I ordered a flight of wines and they were all delicious, especially the rosè. I could drink a bottle of that! Been here a couple of times but the outrageous price on wine is going to keep me from coming back. Seemed a little too pretentious to me. I went with friends for Denver Restaurant Week and was incredibly disappointed by the food, wine and service. The food was incredibly overpriced and very mediocre. I think the squash on the salad was previously frozen, unseasoned squash I currently have in my freezer at home, just warmed up, with no additional seasoning. The timing of everything was very off- we waited 20-30 minutes between the second and third course while everyone around us was served repeatedly. I have a severe dairy intolerance and was told the flatbread without cheese offered as a third course would be fine (the server said she even checked with the chef). Then, when it came out the chicken was incredibly dry and the flatbread was visibly raw on the edges. There was no sauce or anything, it was literally just chicken and semi-raw flatbread. Cheese wouldn't have saved the dish. To make matters worse, I'm pretty sure there was dairy in the flatbread itself- I found out the hard way later that night at home. To top it all off, I looked at my credit card today and have three separate charges for the restaurant, only one that's correct, so now I have to call and dispute the other charges with my bank. I wasn't going to write this review but the three charges on my card changed my mind. Save your money, go to Infinite Monkey Theorem for better wine. The waitress was kind and apologetic and gave us free wine tasting coupons... but I'm pretty sure I won't be back. read more

The food rivaled the finest 4 star restaurant and served home style, to accommodate tables being served quickly and replenished as needed, added to the camaraderie and warm feelings at every table. One of my guests faces serious dietary challenges and couldn't stop commenting on the amazing accommodations she was shown and the quality of the food she was personally served. Cassie, Bigsby's event coordinator and helpful soul extraordinaire, assisted with everything. I am located 1700 miles away and had to blind trust that my event would be serviced properly. Cassie assisted with table rentals, florals, menu, EVERYTHING, and I could never have asked for better! Not a single guest had anything but the highest praise and I could not be happier. Truly a working winery as well as a lovely lounge, Bigsby's Folly has it all from a delicious bistro menu (don't miss the Black and Bleu Flatbread) to a dog-friendly outdoor patio.
