My anxiety slowed down as I saw the super high tech machines. I could tell my husband definitely did his research to make sure I received quality care. As we moved to the room, Dr. Pourjamasb carefully went through the procedure and my work began. I went to Dr. Pourjamasb with a sore tooth that was difficult to identify. He was able to identify the problem tooth and informed me I needed a root canal. Not once was I told that the cost of the procedure would be more as he is a specialist than if I had gone back to my dentist for the procedure. He is also a provider listed in network, indicating the payment amount is agreed upon with the insurance company. I have dual coverage and still ended up paying over $500 out of pocket. I am satisfied with his work, however, I have had other root canals and do not feel his was any better than the others. I do feel that since their knowledge regarding the procedure costs and insurance they should have better informed me of my options. That is what you do if you want loyal customers. read more

I am not a big Yelper, but I have to do it for Dr. Pourjamas. Went to him today with infection that was under one of my teeth. Called his office at 9:00 AM today and was able to get in at 11:00 AM. He looked at my xray, explained throughly what was wrong with my tooth and also explained what needs to be done to correct it. Had him do what needed to be done. Forget everything anyone has ever told you about painful root canals. Dr. Bijan and his staff are THE BEST!! I was all worked up and anxiety-ridden for my first root canal. After hearing I needed a root canal, I was nervous! I had my first root canal by Bijan the day before Thanksgiving! He was so accommodating and slipped me in his schedule because he didn't want me to be in pain over Thanksgiving weekend. I felt very fortunate to come across Bijan! He made process painless, comfortable, and quick. He was so nice and comforting the whole way through. He constantly asked if I was okay. I didn't have any pain during the process. I had very minimal pain which was a minor soreness from the numbing shots (which almost every person will feel) afterwards. I was refereed to see Dr. Bijan for a root canal from my general dentist. Worried about my first root canal, I was concerned about how good the root canal specialist was. After a quick goggle search I found 5 star reviews for Dr. Bijan. This made me feel comfortable and at ease with going to see him. I just got part of my root canal done yesterday and need to come back since there was some blockage in the tooth. Dr. Bijan put some special medication in to clear the blockage and put a temp filling in for the mean time. Even though I have to come back in a few days, I really do not mind at all since the staff and Dr. Bijan himself are very friendly and gentle. The Doctor is amazing. I came to him for a 2nd opinion. The other specialist told me I need surgery because of my abscess... I went to him and he told me that he can retreat my tooth and wait 4-6 months if the abscess does not heal, then he would treat for the Apico surgery. I like that he took the more conservative approach.. as it turns out, I healed well and I did not need the surgery. Saved myself over 2K. Also, when did you hear of a dental office call you and refund you part of your co pay? As it turns out, my insurance paid for my procedure at 90% and they had faxed them that they would pay 70%.. after it was processed my account had a credit and they refunded me. I have never had that... I appreciated that they were so honest! Most definitely recommend him. read more

I selected Dr. Pourjamasb because of the reviews on Yelp even though there were only 3. I am quite pleased with my choice. I had my first root canal yesterday afternoon and I had a little anxiety due to the reputation of the procedure. As with all dental procedures there was slight discomfort but overall the pain was extremely minimal. Dr. Pourjamasb frequently checked with me to see if I was in pain and make sure I was alright. I asked a lot of questions before and after the procedure and he was very knowledgable and confident. I was fortunate to get an appointment the same day that I called and the procedure was only about an hour long. I couldn't ask for anything more. read more

i don't recommend him at all. i had a really bad experience with him. other reviews including his wife's review is about his amazing hands. when you sit there you don't feel anything that's true but your tooth might not need a root canal. that's what happened to me and not happy with it. He did unnecessary root canal to me and for my other tooth he said it's border line and i have to do root canal it has been 3 years since that time and I didn't do any root canal yet.
