We had a fantastic experience including the ambiance, the service and the food. Terri the hostess was very pleasant and accommodating, even when we changed our dinner reservation two times. Connie, our server, was friendly and warm, making us feel most welcome. The food was amazing. My wife started out with the eggplant appetizer which she said was incredible. Next we shared the beet salad. Finally, our entrees were both epic. My wife had the filet cooked in a black skillet and I had the signature grouper dish. I would recommend both. Nice atmosphere--white tablecloth. Somewhat dim lighting. Noise level was between quiet and moderate. We had 4 in our party. For the appetizers we tried the Blackened Brie and the Crab Beignets. The crab beignets were essentially crabcake, fried in dough. They were good, not great. But good enough that I would order them again. The Blackened Brie, however, was something to write home about. I've had baked brie appetizers before, but never a blackened brie. Very unique flavor. A garnish of pickled grapes, which I've never had before. Nice, creative touch. For entrées, two in our party had the Grouper Almandine, and the other two had the Roasted Chicken. The grouper was cooked and seasoned well. Definitely a full, rich flavor. It was served on a bed of rice with green beans. The roasted chicken breast was also cooked very well. Not over done as chicken so often is. Nice flavor. Good seasoning and crispiness on the skin. I couldn't tell for sure whether it was brined or not. Many times a brine makes all the difference with chicken. The chicken was served over mashed potatoes with sautéed asparagus. Again, good presentation and very well done. As for desserts, we had the crème brûlée, which was a Nutella crème brûlée. We also had the strawberry shortcake, which was off menu, and the pineapple cobbler. We sipped coffee while we gobbled them all! Overall, very pleasant dinner. Good food. I didn't realize that Bijoux preferred reservations, but when my husband and I walked in, they were able to seat us immediately! I was thankful that they were kind enough to give us a table. The waitresses were extremely helpful and always made sure we had what we needed. The atmosphere was dark and moody, very romantic! To start the meal, we ordered the Crab Beignets. They were divine! The apple slaw that they sat on was so extremely good. The appetizers are small enough for each person to have their own appetizer. However, they are fairly expensive so we only ordered one. For my entree, I ordered the Lamb Chops. I would highly recommend it to those considering this option. The curry sauce on the side was a beautiful surprise. The basil mint couscous was refreshing and delicious. The carrots were probably my least favorite part. Some of them were overdone and therefore lacked flavor. But over all, it was delicious. My husband ordered the filet mignon with crab on top... the filet was good but the crab... oh my word. I wanted a whole plate of just the crab!!! I highly recommend adding this to your filet! This. Place. Is. Amazing!!! First, our server Michael was THE BEST. We started with the crab beignets which were little balls of heaven. We split the ribeye and added the broccolini which were all divine. The steak was so tasty and juicy with just the right amount of char. The truffle fries were piled high. I could have eaten those for days. We finished off the meal with bread pudding and a goat cheese ice cream which surprisingly worked. I've got to say it was one of my favorite vacation meals ever. We told them it was our first time in. They were definitely a popular place, so we were excited about it. Ordered a bottle of Merlot wine. It had turned/confirmed by staff. Nobody's fault. It happens. My husband's ribeye was very tough and sinewy as was the gal's across from us. The béarnaise was very bland and it was served with French fries. Not a green vegetable or something worthy of a restaurant of this caliber. Bad meat buy. Somebody's fault. My red snapper was tasteless and looked like it was tossed in a casserole, which was not stated in the description. I didn't eat much. The polenta looked and tasted most like salty mashed potatoes. My soup tasted like extreme bland onion gravy. Didn't eat that either. I am definitely not a picky eater and I rarely pass on eating mediocre foods, but this meal, I was like, "why eat tasteless, bad calories?" No point. It was extremely expensive and we were not offered a discount on anything which a quality restaurant would have, considering our total experience. We don't complain or send food back, unless it's undercooked. This was a very disappointing meal. Melissa kept apologizing and we told her that the food prep is not her fault. I recommend making a reservation to dine here to ensure you get to experience this place. We were sat in a timely fashion. Our server was fantastic. I hate I can't remember her name as she made the night a utter success. We browsed pics and read some of my fellow elites reviews and decided that we had to try the Lobster Spring Roll and the Crab Beignet. I also saw the Strawberry Lemon Drop mentioned as well. Lobster Spring Rolls Tempura fried Maine lobster tail, with green tea soba noodle slaw, spicy Thai peanut sauce, and wasabi aioli. Yes I copy the menu description to show just how Bomb the dishes are sometimes. The Lobster Spring Rolls were AMAZING. Juicy lobster, crispy crust, no heavy greasy feeling. A beautiful noodle accompanied with a perfect sweet and spicy sauce. Everything you'd not expect to get from a spring roll. The first bite makes you moan with goodness. The noodles keeps the dish from feeling heavy before your meal. Most definitely recommend anyone visiting here to try these. Crab Beignets Tender jumbo lump blue crab, curry aioli, and Granny Smith apple slaw. These will blow you away for two reasons. They are heat holders and will burn your damn tongue off if you're not careful. Are they totally worth it, Yes. Two the flavors packed in them with a bite of that slaw will make your eyes roll. Black Skillet Filet Mignon Buttermilk gruyere mashed potatoes, smoked bacon braised kale, roasted garlic butter, and natural jus. This dish is what my partner ordered and she 86'd the potatoes and added the roasted carrots. Steak requested MEDIUM. Rack of Lamb Mint Pesto Cous Cous, Roasted Baby Carrots, Curried Yogurt Sauce, Rosemary Demi. This is the dish I ordered and I kept it as is with the lamb cooked MEDIUM. We enjoyed conversation while waiting for our dishes. They arrived beautifully plated as you can see in the photos. To disappointment both of our proteins were past medium but not jerky well done so we decided to just take one for the team. Our magnificent server came by to do a check and asked how everything was and before we could answer she states " Your lamb is over cooked" and asked my partner about the steak and she turned her plate and she plate around. We said it was fine and we'd just keep them. "She apologies and says no ma'am I'm taking them back this is not what you ordered" as a chef and major foodie I was very impressed with her customer service. The meals were replaced with the most perfectly cooked lamb and steak EVER!!!!!! We demolished our meal. Fully satisfied no room for dessert. We're ready to go. We usually experiment with starters and desserts, but for the entrees, we've always ordered the black skillet fillet. This time, I had the seared diver scallops. My son had the cowboy ribeye. My wife had our usual black skill fillet. Everything was amazing as usual. My son said the cowboy ribeye was the best steak he's ever had, and we've been to some high-end steak restaurants. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and my husband took us here for our anniversary. The plating was nice, servers are attentive (almost annoying) but the flavors were mediocre. The host sat us near the area where the staff wait so we could hear every word of their conversations-- it was kind of distracting. We ordered the Brie appetizer and paired with the bread it just tasted like a grilled cheese sandwich. Also, the table bread provided was spongey and unappetizing. The beet salad was disappointing as well. My lamb entree was delicious but paired with the pearl couscous turned me off and confused my mouth. The textures together did not go well. On the other hand my husbands mashed potatoes were amazing, buuuuut his steak was way too salty. We both had old fashions and they were basic. There is nothing spectacular about this place, and for the price you could find a better culinary experience. Also, the bathroom doesn't have a full length mirror and I found that odd. It's placed unusually high so I could only see myself from the chin up. (A woman needs to check herself out when she's on a night out). read more
