Oysters are a 10/10 very fresh and very delicious, I will the server could have been a little more attentive and there is zero service in the restaurant i had to step out just to send a text!

On vacation and after reading numerous great reviews about this place we decided to try it out & it did not disappoint. It's family friendly and casual dining. They have a good selection of food items, from fried seafood items, to New Orleans style dishes. We ordered the fried shrimp platter with a side of hush puppies, the seafood platter and the Boom Boom shrimp. All dishes were very tasty and the portions were filling. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend & we will definitely come back. Our server Javier was very helpful, attentive and friendly.

Every time we come to Destin this place is always a must stop. They have the Best chargrilled oysters! I can get these and nothing else and be completely satisfied! Honorable mention to their fried grouper dinner. The fish is seasoned and is good also. Staff is always great and accommodating for our large group. Great place for a group or solo to get some good seafood.

We went early at 4 so the restaurant was not packed . The ambiance was good. The waiter was great. He recommended the seafood etouffee . Which ended up being really good. My cousin had the crab cake appetizer and her husband had the smoked sausage po boy. We order a small onion ring for the appetizer to share. Everything was really good. Definitely recommend.

Spent a week in Biloxi, Mobile, and the northwest Florida beaches and these were by far the best chargrilled oysters that I had. I've been to the original location off Bourbon in New Orleans and while this location felt much more chain-like, they know how to chargrill oysters right. Comes with bread and plenty of juice/sauce/butter/seasoning to dip it in. I will say that the oysters here were the most expensive out of the five places we went to this week so I wish they weren't so high, but they tasted the best. Wish I was spending more time in Destin so I could go here again. Came here twice, once during peak dinner time Friday night and again Saturday for lunch but never had to wait for a table which is nice since the Acme in the French Quarter in New Orleans there is always a long wait.

Very solid seafood being served here. My soft shell crab was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Plenty of beer and cocktail options. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was very attentive and was extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and the bathroom was very clean.

My wife and I were in Destin for vacation and decided to visit Acme Oyster house. We started with the Boom Boom Shrimp and they were OK at best. She had a half dozen grilled oysters and they were fabulous. I tried the New Orleans Medley and it was just OK. I think that I should have stuck with ordering one dish instead of trying samples of four different things. Oh, well. We decided to try the brownie sundae for dessert and it was huge, but very good. Our server seemed to have somewhere else that he would rather be, but he did take care of everything. The restaurant is a pretty good sized place with black and white checkerboard floors and kind of noisy. We are willing to go back and try something else. We'll see.

Visited Destin and had to stop for the char grilled oysters and boo fries! They did not disappoint, they were awesome! The waitress put on a football game for us in the bar and she was a great waitress! It was a happening place!

This experience started off rocky from the very beginning. The host seemed very distracted and wasn't sure where to seat us in a mostly empty restaurant. When we were sat it is what I commonly call "the cleanest dirty table", there were empty sugar packets on the table and in the chairs. It seemed like someone had made "swipe" at the table but it was far from clean. It took a while for our server to come over but he was pleasant and helpful, but fairly absent throughout the meal. I had a half dozen chargrilled oysters that were yummy, and there were 8 of them. I don't know if it was the end of the night or if they were small, but the extras were appreciated. Everything was ok, but there are so many other places to eat in the Destin area I think we will skip this one next time.

We stopped by this place to escape from our kids during our summer vacation. They have great oysters! Service was wonderful. Looking forward to try this place again when we come back.

When we come to visit. We always come here. The food is always fresh and tasty. Pat our server was fantastic. Friendly and gave suggestions for the menu. The fried fish was so delicious. Fried just right and so delicious with the mix veggie medley. Will def give it a try again. The restaurant was not crowded so we got seated right away. It was nice and clean.

half Fried Shrimp Po-Boy and red beans and rice (it's not on the menu but you can ask to do a half sandwich and cup of gumbo or red beans )

We love Acme in Louisiana so we definitely wanted to try Acme in Florida while on vacation! Great service for our large party, family friendly and casual.... the food is delicious just like in the Metairie and New Orleans locations. If you want authentic New Orleans cuisine anywhere outside of New Orleans, this is it! Our favorites are oysters (raw and chargrilled) red beans and rice, shrimp po boys and the gumbo!

    Oyster happy hour?

There is a bar in the restaurant but I don't know if they have Happy Hour. You may want to contact the restaurant directly.

I am very picky about my fried oysters as most places put way too much breading on them for my taste. What is the amount of breading like on their fried oysters?

    Single breaded to order

Do they take reservations? *They do not-first come, first served only.

I am not certain but I don't think so.

Best place to eat in Sandestin?

Yes ---- but Acme is relocating the Sandestin location on September 30th, and moving to our new location in Seascape (NOW OPEN!).

It was the last night of our vacation and we wanted seafood and specifically a crab boil. We got seated right away and Kyle came over to introduce himself, he was very kind and personable. We started asking about the appetizers and he recommended the charbroiled oysters which were great. I asked if they were spicy and he said no. Then he came back to take our orders a bit later. I asked if the crab boil was spicy and the others ordered. I ended up ordering the crab boil. When he brought my food over he said, "I hope it is okay but I asked them to put the broth in a separate boil in case you felt it was too spicy. Ive included a large melted butter and lemon instead." I almost cried. I didn't tell him but I have stage 4 cancer and it has created many issues with being able to eat. I hate to be a pest so I just ask if things are spicy and find something else if my server says yes. He had just listened to my questioning and thought something may be happening so he came up with a perfect solution. I never told him I had cancer, just thanked him so much but my family and I were emotional because I haven't had a decent meal out because everything seems spicy in the year I've been fighting this. I want Kyle to know how much it meant and the service was absolutely amazing. Thanks Kyle and to Bayou Bill's for hiring someone as amazing as him.

When we received the bill, it seemed higher than expected. Upon asking for clarification, we were told there was an 8% "packaging fee," which exceeded the local tax. This charge was not itemized as a packaging fee on the receipt--only listed as "8%"--and there was no explanation provided. Since it had been a long day and our order was already prepared, we chose to proceed with the purchase. What concerned us most was that this fee was neither disclosed on the website nor mentioned when we placed our order. We only became aware of it after questioning the total. Greater transparency would have been appreciated. If such charges were clearly communicated in advance, customers could make informed decisions. While we understand that restaurants operate with tight margins, unexpected fees leave a negative impression and ultimately influenced our decision not to return. We have enjoyed the food in the past, but at this price point, we would likely explore other options that we feel offer better overall value.

It had a nice kick to it, was full of flavor, and the $10 cup was a generous portion. My partner and I both ordered a cup, and it was easily the best thing we ate. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill. We split the fried redfish basket, and for what it cost, it felt almost criminal. There wasn't a price listed, so getting the bill was a shock (especially because all the other baskets were $30). The fish itself was decent quality, but the breading was heavy, bland, and overwhelmed the redfish. The curly fries were unique, but they left both of us feeling greasy and weighed down afterward. Service was mixed. The hostesses were friendly and welcoming, and our server was pleasant as well, though it felt like there was a strong push to upsell throughout the meal. In the end, two cups of gumbo, one fried fish basket to share, and our total came to $85 including taxes and tip. Considering the quality of the fried basket, the value just wasn't there. If the fish basket alone was around $50, that price is hard to justify. It felt more like a money grab aimed at visitors than a restaurant focused on earning repeat local customers.
