Been our go-to place in Destin for close to 10 years. We first had the steak and fried lobster at the original location in Baytown Wharf we remember being extraordinary. Many visits later at the new location near Sandestin nothing has changed. That's so refreshing most places keep changing to the point you don't go back because it's not the same or the reason you did. While visiting Sandestin decided to try this place out for dinner. I read the reviews and they were so good that I was excited to try it. Upon walking in our host took our names and escorted us to a table for outdoor seating. The weather was very nice and the cool evening breeze is just what we needed from the long day. Started out with drinks which I believe I was a pomegranate Margarita and it was really good and Refreshing. We had a party of four and we all each had something different. I can say we were all truly satisfied with our meal but not blown away. Nice place to visit while in Sandestin but can't say that it's a must to do? Also, I was a little turned off about the one stall bathrooms when the restaurant was so packed! Been here many times in the past as we live here full time but first time ever treated rude from the bartenders. Came it at 5 on Oct 7 and had a seat at the bar. Walked in with a friendly couple who were waited on immediately. Watched the bar fill up and we still have not been acknowledged. Two bartenders but had to ask for a drink, ask for a menu, tell them I was ready to order, ask for silverware and ask for water. I will not attend this place again. I ordered duck confit with Brussels Sprouts and lamb chops with charred spinach and broccolini. Both were cooked to perfection! The watermelon mock-tail was also delicious. If I HAD one complaint it's that I was given broccoli and not broccolini which I ordered. But the broccoli was so delicious so I won't totally count that against them. I asked for well done on the Ahi Tuna and still got rare. They offered to take it back and let it cook more but I told them i don't trust sending anything back. They did offer something else from the menu but I was turned off at that point and said no Thanks. Also, don't order crab beignets for starters. Very nice atmosphere for a date, girls night out or just wanting to treat yourself to an incredible meal and experience. I ate here over three years ago and was so happy everything was even better than I remembered. They are great with food allergies and have lots of gluten and dairy free options. Everything is fresh, handmade, hand crafted down to the whip cream and chocolate sauce. Our table talked about how each component of each dish is so delicious on its own but then it altogether is truly art! Between the three of us we had the baked Brie, scallops, chicken and filet and everyone was so happy! We also tried the crème brûlée, bread pudding and chocolate hazelnut cake. We were sat immediately and waitress was on point. We got a bottle of wine from their impressive list and felt we were about to experience an exceptional evening of upscale dining.... We'll we were on the way there with the salads, bread, and tuna. Then our entries came out. I had a tough highly over salted filet served on top of what tasted like old, firm, and bland boxed mashed potatoes. We also got the special with crab meat on top of grouper, the flaky crab was hardly present and the grouper wasn't as fresh as we'd hoped for being so close to the water. Wow. Could not give a higher review. One of the best meals I've enjoyed recently in every way. Brought my teenage daughter and her friend to do something nice on vacation. My daughter is a foodie, her friend not so much...though the latter may not be the case anymore! Started with lobster spring rolls and crab beignets. Lobster was perfect, and the best way I can describe the beignets is to picture the best crab cake you've had and stuff it into a pillowy beignet...amazing. I also had a martini to start, expertly made. Dinner took it to another level, which is saying something. My daughter did the filet, which was a perfect mid-rare, and the duck fat made for a beautiful added dimension. Her friend got the roast chicken and asked for grits on the side because she doesn't like grits...her plates were cleaned, and she fended off my daughter from taking the grits she liked them so much. I did the flounder special, which was just beautiful...I'll personally vouch for the grits, and the shrimp toppers were a fine touch. Dessert did not disappoint. Hazelnut cake was very rich and very good, and the bread pudding was all I could've wanted (Granny Smith apples with black currants). Our server, Michael, was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and he brilliantly handled my foodie daughter and her non-foodie friend in waking through the menu. Atmosphere was very classy but welcoming. Tucked away on the edge of a strip mall, Bijoux is an elegant dining experience. The blackened Brie was good, the blackening seasoning was a nice twist on an otherwise ordinary menu item. The lobster spring rolls were good, the lobster tails were grilled and warmed while the spring roll wrapped around it was cold and light. The chopped salad had a really good dressing. Personally I prefer my side salads to be meatless and I found the country ham a bit salty for my taste but it wasn't terrible. The 20oz cowboy ribeye was seasoned really well. You can split an entree for $6, which I am glad I did! The filet minion was well seasoned but not quite as melt in your mouth as we've experienced at other restaurants. Table bread wasn't the best but it was good! esp the butter accompanied by a sweet garlic balsamic olive oil dip; Waited (15 mins) for my appetizers which was totally worth it and our entrees came out 5 mins after we finished our appetizers. I made sure to save room for dessert because I knew if the food didn't disappoint, there was no way their dessert could let me down and I was right. Perfect cooking time on everything ordered, nothing was over done or underdone and that goes for the flavor of the dishes tried (check out the pictures) here as well. I will without a doubt be back. When we walked in the door, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who led us to our table! We didn't wait long for our server to come to our table at all and she was very knowledge about the menu and on top of everything all night! For dinner we did the Roasted Chicken, Cowboy Ribeye, and Chicken Tenders and Fries for the little one! Portion sizes were great and everything was so flavorful! The chicken comes with fontina cheese grits and creamed greens with and arugula salad on top! Something out of a dream! My husband really enjoyed his ribeye and said it was cooked to perfection! For dessert we picked the Pineapple Coconut Cobbler, which was like nothing we've ever tasted! The flavor was so tropical and so fresh!
