Terrible food. Hot beer. Expensive. Difficult to get to and must pay a toll for the privilege. Other than that, great.

We had a large party, 10 adults and 4 kids, and they were able to accommodate us around 5:45pm. We were told to get there early because they do fill up fast, and I can see why. Our server was amazing and she was so patient with us. Not one person had any complaints about their food or drinks. They make great stuff here.

If it was in the state, I probably would give it four stars but here to me it's a five. This island needs a good sushi restaurant. Everything we ordered was as good or better than what we expected This may be the most beautiful restaurant in St. John, With the beautiful view, I strongly suggest you come here at lunch or at dinner before it gets dark. It is just too beautiful, not to enjoy such a view I read other reviews before I came here. Almost everybody said everything was great, but the service was slow. Possibly the Restaurant was just starting to manage it properly but when we were there, I have nothing to complain about the service. I was very happy and I could come here weekly. Assuming I can afford it. It cost a lot. after tip for the two of us, it was over $500. I talked to the people at the table next-door because they were having meat. One was having a ribeye. I believe the other was having lamb chops. They both were very happy with what they got. That's great to know, because let's face it not everybody likes seafood. Many people who order a California roll at restaurants are not getting top Quality Crab. The crab in my California roll here was perfect. obviously other people appreciate this restaurant too, because it was filled. i'm thrilled I came to karma and I'm looking forward to be coming here regularly from this point on oh yeah, almost forgot because I'm not a big dessert lover. My wife ordered hot donuts with ice cream and whipped cream . We loved it, maybe I have to rethink about not caring about dessert. Bon appétit

So we really enjoyed our experience at High Tide, but to be clear, it's a beach bar restaurant. The spacious dining area with a great happy hour and dinner menu comes out at 5:00. We got there for the lunch menu and were glad we did because we got sandwiches which were great. Candidly, nothing on the dinner menu blew our minds. The tuna sandwich with wasabi and arugula was fantastic, and the tuna was prepared perfectly! We also got shrimp tacos that were better than the sandwich for what it's worth. Our server, who didn't give us her name, was sweet and attentive and even brought a cask of water without us asking. At the end of the day, High Tide delivered as advertised. Three last thoughts if you've read this far: Park at the MVD and walk; it's not that far and free. Get the Key Lime Pie; it was outstanding but pretty typical of the area. Lastly, stop at the merch store and grab a t-shirt, which are some of the best I've seen so far!

As for the food m, I thought it was okay. I ordered the chicken curry off of the chef specials menu and I wasn't blown away by it or anything. The rice and broccoli sides were plain, the chicken was cooked fine, and the sauce was good, but not amazingly flavorful like other curries I had had in the past. And for this being a chef special, I just want super impressed. The waitress we had was super kind though, and our food came out quick which was much appreciated. Again, the view is amazing and they have a decent menu listing. While this place is great for a cocktail, sunset, and "little something for everyone" vibes, personally I think there is something left to be desired.

The menu is big. It's local. They sell out as the night goes on. All of the servers do not speak English really well. But, honestly, if you have a question that can't be answered, there's someone around you can talk to. We ordered sautéed fish and the stewed chicken. Each entree comes with three sides - my favorites were the plantains, red beans, and Cole slaw. Rice was also good. The cook was also grilling pork that smelled AMAZING and when I asked my server if I could have whatever he was making, she literally snuck me over a side plate of smoked and grilled pork. So freaking good. This is not your typical Cruz bay restaurant. This is local. It's delicious. There is live music. Appreciate what you are getting. If you want cute fish tacos, this place isn't for you. We had a cocktail at the Windmill Bar during sunset and then popped over here (practically next door), to order some food. Tables are picnic style tables. All outside. Service is great but food is cooked to order so it might be slow. Enjoy it! We had multiple beers and a couple mamawana shots and two entrees and our total was about $75. Definitely our least expensive meal on St. John ever.
