I kept going back & forth between 4-5 stars and the reason it was 5 was because of the customer service. As the sandwiches are listed on the menu, you're asked (at the register) if you'd like whatever fixings that go with the sandwich. I got the Turkey and Cheese with lettuce & pickles, I added jalapeños & jalapeño sauce. I liked the creamy Italian sauce too. The sandwich was stacked. Plenty of turkey, plenty of lettuce, plenty of pickles and jalapeños. The sauce was there and wasn't an overload, just the right amount. The sandwiches come in small or large & I'm glad I got the small. The combos come with chips and a drink, they have one of my favorite chip brands, Miss Vickie's (Spicy Dill Pickle is an automatic pick for me). I wish I got the name of the dude who took my order. He was super cool, laid back & nice. He asked me if it was my first time in & I said yes (I always ordered pickup) and got to choose between the 3 cookie options they had for free. Their oatmeal raisin cookie doesn't taste like your average, see for yourself. *Side Note: Did Bill & Ruth's specialize in mainly cold sandwiches? I love this family owned Bill & Ruth's. My favorite go to is the 4-way and the Turkey, Ham and Cheese. They have delicious cookies and I love their tabouli. I love their new location. They use to be on the corner of 15th and Lewis where the newer QT is located. Since they moved down the street the location is really nice and has more seating. Lunch today and I come here because I love their meatball subs. Got the combo meal with chips and drink included. Good stuff and very clean and nice inside. Not the smoothest process today however. After I placed my order, put the bag of chips I wanted on the counter and was asked if it was to go, I replied that I did not want it to go and stood nearby waiting. The cashier took my chips and put them on the counter behind him and handed me my drink cup. I waited. Waited some more. Finally the cashier asked me what I ordered. I told him and the sub was finally prepared. Cashier put it in a styrofoam box to go and then into a plastic bag. Told him I was eating in so he handed me my styrofoam box. No chips. Asked for the chips and he asked me "didn't you take the chips?" "No, after I placed them on the counter you took them." He told me "sorry, it's been a long day." Yes it has. A trip to Tulsa = a trip to Bill & Ruth's on every visit I'm trying something new off the menu. Today was the Eastern Style Hoagie. Cold cuts with oil & vinegar. It's was tasty but not my favorite. I'm still working my way thru the menu so who knows what I'll find out to be the best sandwich. I'll fondly remember this one, loved the cold cuts, L & T, along with the oil & vinegar. I usually like coming here, which is why I'm so upset this happened. I went through the drive thru and asked for gluten free bread on a gyro. The employee with the pink hair, Carla, did not understand what I meant and I guess was offended or something, because she put perfume in my sweet tea and sprayed it in my bag. My sweet tea tasted off when I got it and when I got home I noticed the bag smelled like perfume and so did the cup lid. I called back and they offered a refund or a free meal, but said Carla didn't do anything wrong. Very disappointed. Not coming back. read more

This place is wonderful. I love the woman at the drive thru window. I once had a credit card problem here (my dog ate it so it wouldn't swipe and I couldn't read the expiration date) anyway, they allowed me to take my food and trusted me to call them and give them my credit card information. Been coming here for years and it's the BEST Bill & Ruth's in town. Somewhat sad to see it go, but their new space is starting to look great. Home of the 3 cheese and avocado sub. All sandwiches are stuffed full of meat, cheeses and veggies, along with their secret creamy italian, which you can opt out of. Can also always add onions, pickles, jalapenos and olives free of charge. Best deal is the combo. A small sandwich (8"), plus chips or soup, and drink for about $10. My personal favorite is the belly buster, eastern style hoagie and of course the 3 cheese and avocado. Employees are exceptionally nice and service is fast. read more

My family has always loved this sandwich shop. They've always made a substantial sandwich with great quality ingredients and the most friendly service. But the last few times we've gotten takeout, the sandwiches were anemic! It's like someone gave an order to cut the sandwich filling in half. It's suddenly become a very bread-heavy sandwich with very minimal filling, including the meat. After 3 recent attempts, I don't think my family will go for it again. Everyone's been disappointed. I like their warm sandwiches and the fact that they offer each in a small or large size. My favorites are their gyro on pita and the meatball and cheese. They also have a wonderful lentil soup. The Daily Special is always a great deal ($7.69 for the small/ $9.69 for the large) since it includes a sub, medium drink, chips, and either potato salad or soup. First time to this Bill & Ruth's. Had been wanting to check it out and today I was 15th and Lewis and figured this would be a good time. Walked in at 10:45. No other customers. They open at 10:00. You order at the counter on one end and pay at the other end. I ordered Soup & Salad Deal for $7.99 which includes a 12 oz. soup + tabouli or garden salad + medium drink. I got the Chicken Tortilla soup, tabouli and a bottle of water. The meal came out quickly and I chose a table by the east window. All staff were wearing masks as were the customers who came in after me. The table were appropriate spaced and the whole place appeared very clean. The staff were all friendly and accomodating. There's a spacious parking lot and a drive-thru. I believe they've been in business for 36+ years and obviously know what they're doing. As usual, everyone in the place was very friendly. The meatball sub didn't have much taste or texture and was soggy. I wouldn't get it again. The potato soup was okay with chunks of potatoes and a lot of garlic, I wouldn't get it again. My husband's 4 way chili was outstanding as usual. My boyfriend, a native Tulsan, raves about this place everytime we drive by. Finally we stop in for take-out. I got the french dip, boyfriend got the three cheese and avocado sub. We also got baklava and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. The bread is an essential part of a sub and Bill & Ruth's nailed it. It is soft and delicious. The french dip was ok and honestly tasted like Arby's roast beef. The au jus was very aromatic and tasty. I took a bite of my boyfriend's sub and it was delicious. The creamy Italian dressing is very good. The cookies and baklava were good too. We had a chat with Ramsey, the owner's son and he is a nice guy. He is very friendly and likes to chat with customers. Stopped by while driving through the area. Both of us ordered a small 3 cheese with avocado on white with tomato, lettuce, jalapeño, and mustard. The combo of tons of shredded cheese, shredded lettuces and what seemed like half a bottle of mustard made for a bloody mess of a sandwich. Not to mention the bits of someone else's ham sandwich stuck to the outside of my sandwich. Picked off the ham, took a couple bites and threw the rest away. Ordered the egg salad sandwich after being told it came with lettuce and tomato, exactly what I wanted. Added a bag of chips and a drink and pulled to the drive up window. The transaction was smooth and speedy. Got home and realized the drink was overfilled with ice. The sandwich was missing tomato. And the chips were not even in my bag.
