They did a temporary fix which stopped the leak right away and then followed up to come back and redo the shingles to properly install them as it was not installed correctly by the contractor who installed it initially. They also patched several other spots on the roof and we haven't seen any leaks since even with heavy rainfall. Highly recommend.

Since I live far away and I could not make it into town while the roof was being replaced Guillermo kept me informed of the progress and plenty of pictures and answered all my questions and since I am an engineer, I had a lot of questions, such are engineers. Since I did not have a tenant at the time Guillermo did several things that tenants would normally do: covered things in garage, crawled in attic to make sure no pipes near roof. He worked with me on rerouting an exhaust pipe. To be honest, they did make one mistake, but they fixed it and so I still think they deserve 5 star. Their quote is very detailed and educational. Their design seems quite good. The shingles they use are very good quality per Consumer Reports. They take care of the permitting. Later, my tenant saw a stain on the ceiling and so thought the roof was leaking. Master Craft Roofing came out right away. All indications are that it is a water stain from the previous roof.

They even constructed and applied a decorative gable feature that we requested. Our house looks brand new now! What we loved most about First Tier Exterior is that they have teams of employees skilled in different areas so they can complete ALL aspects of the job. That way, we didn't have to be in the position of coordinating different companies and workers (who then blame each other for problems with the job!) The workers showed up early each day as promised and did a wonderful job. I also loved the progress picture updates after each day of work. AAR had the best contract and price after sourcing multiple quotes. We even got the upgraded Solaris shingles by booking by a certain date in October which was awesome because they refract more heat in the summer. We added new gutters on for 4k too. If I had any constructive criticism to offer it would have been to communicate more with the placement on the gutters because we had to have them come back to make a patch and move the gutter to the side because it was better looking on the side of the house rather than a focal point in front. But as promised, they made it right and got the job done with my particular request. Our house looks so much more updated with these Morie Black Landmark shingles, rather than the old terracotta tiles that we had before. I've already referred 3 people to their company and my parents got their roof done by them a month later! In our case it was for insulation though and they were able to insulate our attics very well to help conserve energy and keep the place warmer during winter and cooler during summer. The owner has been in this trade for over 20 years so they have done a variety of jobs and a variety of buildings. It's good to know a small business like this has the experience and knowledge to make a solid product - one that they put their name onto. With service this bad before they started work or got paid it is hard to imagine they would even pretend that you exist afterwards if an issue were to arise.
