Had two repairs done by the guys at Bill Parks and both times they've been awesome. Prices were really reasonable and the staff was really friendly. The waiting area was comfortable as well! They finished the repairs really quickly, didn't need to leave the old girl there overnight, and was able to pick it up with no stress. All staff were respectful and friendly, we had some friendly teasing back and forth, and I felt completely comfortable the whole time. Terrible customer service. Specifically with one mechanic there, Singh. My friend went in to get her car fixed and she was milked for $1400 for repairs. A month later the issue returned. She goes back to get her car fixed and complain and she had Singh all over her. Asking her if she still loved them and so on while touching her and hugging her. Completely unprofessional. She asked me to come by with her this time and when We walked in I saw him eyeing her like a side of meat from behind the desk. We got her keys and we say our goodbyes and when I'm about to pull out and leave I see Singh walk up to her from the garage while she's in her car and getting ready to leave. He goes up to her open door and prevents her from leaving. I had to come back and get her out of there. What's worse is when I was talking to her and getting her out of this sticky situation he was hovering around the area to see if I was sticking around and if he had a chance to accost her again. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! Ladies, be especially careful if you do have your car being fixed at this business. Never go alone. read more

My car has been making this horrible knocking noise for about 3 weeks now and on Saturday, I finally decided to take it in before I ended up broke down on the side of the road somewhere. Just my luck, I would end up broke down on Charter or Eight Street somewhere in the hood!! I was going to take it to the dealership but they are too expensive so we took it in to Sears. They listened to the noise and said that they thought it was the water pump and they couldn't fix it. The guy at Sears recommended Bill Parks. I was reluctant to take it there only because I had taken in a company car before and it was outrageously expensive. But at this point, I was pretty much out of options besides just picking a place out of the phone book. We got to Bill Parks and the guy confirmed that the water pump was going out but they wanted to look to make sure that's all it was. It took them about 2 hours to diagnose the problem and then about another 2 - 3 hours to fix it. It turns out it was only the water pump and it was about $330 out the door. We ended up paying more for labor than we did for the actual water pump! But we were treated good and they were able to fix it the same day so we will be back (but hopefully not soon!!). read more

My family has been taking their cars to Bill Parks for years and literally every time we get one of the cars back, something is still wrong with it or the problem was overlooked entirely. At first my family started giving Bill Parks the benefit of the doubt, but not any longer. Took a car into get breaks repaired, and when I went to pick up the car they said "We didn't know you needed your breaks repaired?" WTF? Took a car to get a new radiator, a week later my engine starts smoking. I know the economies bad and these guys want to keep having work, but honestly, your shop sucks. DO NOT GET YOUR BRAKES DONE HERE. I brought my car in for an oil change and sure enough they found another $500 worth of repairs that were absolutely necessary, one of which being a brake job. Less than a month after my "brake job" I still felt vibration when braking. I took my car into Les Schwab for a free inspection, and they couldn't even tell I had my brakes serviced within the last month. When I told the guy at Les Schwab that I recently had work done he said "It looks like they didn't do anything at all" Enough said. read more

Today I was driving from Sacramento to Stockton for work. While driving, my check engine light starts flashing and car starts feeling like it's going to stall. I immediately exited onto Hammer lane and pulled into a parking lot. Called my husband, he said find a Honda dealer or an auto repair. So, I use gps and Bill Parks Auto comes up as closest shop. I go in shop, explain my situation and Mike right away runs the codes to find out what's going on. He worked me in at the last minute, went to Honda dealer to get the part, showed me the parts that went bad on my car and a little over three hours later my car was drivable again! I am so grateful for the wonderful customer service and hospitality I received from everyone at Bill Parks! They offered me food and drink while I waited! I was so impressed at how every customer that came in they were treated like family. In chatting with staff I learned they have been in business since 1982 and some of them have worked there for over 40 years!! That says something right there!! I just wish they were up in Sacramento because they would be my only mechanic! Thank you so much Mike and awesome staff at Bill Parks for making me feel welcome, being so honest and kind!! I started using Bill Parks when I moved to Stockton a few years ago. The first time I went I needed a smog check. I passed with flying colors on my 1987 Volvo!!! Since then they have been my go to place for routine oil changes, brakes, etc. I just recently had a new timing belt and other belts put in. I find Bill Parks Auto Repair to be very fairly priced, but maybe I'm used to S.F. prices. The staff is very nice with good senses of humor. And they have drop-off and pick-up service, you can't beat that!!! I highly recommend them. Give them a try and I bet you'll go back again like I did. read more

Hello, Auto repair i can not make a comment on. However smog testing i can. Please for the love of GOD do not bother to use this company for a smog check. My nissan failed because a vacum line was disconnected. Yet this company wants to charge $30 bucks to retest with a 1/2 a second repair. This is a joke and should be ashamed doing a retest for free would be the right thing to do. This is a OBD2 test only needs a reader to be plugged into the port and no dyno check. This means zero effort to retest. read more

Zero Stars is more accurate. Had to take my car in 2 times for the same problem. It wasn't fixed appropriately the first time so that they could charge me twice. All they did was reset the computer the first time so that the light went off and told me it wasn't necessary to replace the part. A week and a half later the light was back on. So I took it back in and they charged me full price again to actually replace the part. read more

In March of 2016 my 91 yr old Mother-in-law took her 2000 Honda Accord to Bill Parks to check transmission issues. Unfortunately I was not there for the transaction she was given an option of replacing it with a used transmission or rebuilding it. Since replacing it was cheaper $3200.00 then rebuilding it she chose that option with a 6 mo warranty or 3000 miles. She recalls a different warranty but possibly mixed it up with the other choices. As luck would have it , after 1600 miles , the transmission once again went out. We took it back over there and yes it is the transmission. They would talk to whoever they sent it too to see what they would do. Since it had been 8 months they would do nothing! Bill parks would also do nothing ! So the car sat in her garage until recently. Her Granddaughter decided she would check in to it and possibly buy it from Grandma. What she found out was she could have it rebuilt with 100,000 mile warranty for $2700 From a different shop! Totally disappointed that they would take advantage of a 91 yr old customer that had been using their shop for all the family vehicles for many many years! read more

My car recently failed smog ...woo hoo. Well I applied for the CAP repair assistance program and after it was reinstated, I was approved. I had my repairs done at Bill Parks Auto Repair. I was so impressed with how nice and helpful everyone was. My son is 7, he has an autism disorder and has a difficult time with anything he finds boring (ie: waiting areas). I was so impressed with the staff, they did not get frustrated with him at all. They were so sweet. Singh and Mike were both just wonderful. My repairs were done quickly, they provided me a ride home when I dropped my car off (and offered to pick me up when it was done, but I had a ride) Everyone there was just a pleasure to work with. After the repairs my car passed smog with flying colors *smile* **The only reason I didn't give a 5 is because I don't really know what the repair costs are like, since my repairs were covered by the CAP assistance. read more

In calling for prices on service, I find that this guy charges for everything he can find. His prices are higher than the dealer. And I have found that they are not truthful about the cost of parts. I have seen on other reviews that they had charged $500 to find and repair a power steering. That is not a fair price. They must charge a straight price of $100 for diagnostics, like they do at the dealer. EXCEPT when you have the dealer do the repair, the Diagnostics fee is part of the cost of the job, not added to it. It looks like Parks adds the Diag fee to the cost of the repair. I would not have this place work on my car. read more

Love this place! Took my car in because i needed my electric windows fixed, they no longer worked. Bill Parks is near where my new apartment is so I thought i would give them a try, dropping the car off on a saturday morning. They totally fixed it, only charged me $99 for one hour of labor, and told me it was a fraid grounding wire that they had to take some time to trace and find and fix, and after googling the problem on my particular make and model, that made total sense. I cant remember the last time i had anything less than a $500 day at the mechanic. Bill parks' people could have made up a huge story about having to order parts in order to charge me an arm and a leg, and how would I have known? They were honest with me and did great work so i'll definitely be going back to bill parks the next time my car needs work. read more

My van was overheating, and I was losing coolant. I took the van to Bill Parks and they told me there was nothing wrong with the van. It wasn't overheating, and there was no leak. No stars would be more like it for this place. My husband sent in his truck to be fixed. They gave it back and all the wiring was wrong and something suddenly appeared to be wrong with the transmission. We took it back to them and they had the truck over 3 weeks and nobody called us for any update. I finally got fed up and decided to stop by and our truck was siting in their parking lot!!! When I went inside to ask about the truck one of the mechanics had no clue what was wrong with our truck.(3 weeks had passed by this point). He directed me to speak to the older man with white hair. When I asked him about our truck he didn't even look at me in the face. All he said was something was wrong with the Solenoid and after three weeks of having our vehicle he told me they don't fix that. I was so dumbfounded by his response,they are an auto mechanic shop and they cant fix a Solenoid... I understand if they can't do the job they could of called and let us know. We were struggling for more than a month with one vehicle and nothing was ever fixed or at least a phone call so we could take it somewhere else. VERY UNPROFFESIONAL,WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. If I could give this place zero stars I would. This was by far the worst auto repair experience I've ever had. I asked them to check one thing (the motor mounts) because I was having vibrations while reversing. I did the typical google search and everything pointed to the motor mounts. After having my car all day, the manager said he double checked the mounts himself and they looked fine. He then told me the vibrations were something I was going to have to get used to and live with because nothing was wrong with my car. He suggested a transmission flush saying it will probably help with the vibrating. After paying for the "diagnostic" and a transmission flush, and another week of the vibrating getting worse, I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion. We've used Bill Parks on and off for more than 20 years. We have quite a few older cars and when our regular shop gets frustrated we bring it to Parks. Also, they seem to have a think for large pick ups. I usually take my Silverado to Parks. We find them reliable and honest. They tendto uner estimate the time for repair so if you need something donne in a hurry say so up front! They also do pre-smog work. Oh a note on one of the comments. In most cases, the greatest cost for auto repair is labor. If you find a place that works for under $85/hr they may not know what they are doing. These guys are like any shop. If you want to get treated right establish a relationship with them. This takes time. Take you car to th cheapest place each time don't expect to get the red carpet treatment. I drop my car off and they drive me home, and I know they do a lot of little things for no charge. read more

I regularly have my car(s) (both personal and work vehicles) serviced at Bill Parks. Not only am I impressed with the actual repairs done, but the communication prior to the work being started is a major reason for going to this excellent shop. They have always explained in detail the work being done and the cost. I have never been surprised by the final bill. In one case, the original diagnosis was different then the actual problem. After investigation of my car issue they called me to advise me of the change, the associated costs and to ask permission to proceed. I could not ask for bette service. I have used them for years...and good luck in the past...today...well...my check engine light was on...and I ran to them...I spent close to 4 hours wondering around north Stockton, solo,(told him that)....I have spent 1000,00's in the past(family) thought we had history....I was so so very wrong....I was charged....100.00$$$ to be told my gas cap was not on tightly....this, on a week, I am not sure I can afford the gas it took me to get there(much less rent or other things...) Well I just came from the DMV today. I needed to get a smog test. So I came to Bill Parks Auto Repair. I choose here mainly because its a smog and repair shop. So my car is a 91 Acura Integra. So I knew it had a chance to fail and it did. I'm not mad about that it failed. I'm upset because, when I asked why it failed. I was told that it would be an extra $140 for an engine diagnostic. I told the counter person. "the emission readings are right here" " Are you telling me your smog tech" "Cant read his own printout"? The counter person Mr Singh wouldn't even throw me a bone.. So I left Bill Parks not knowing why it failed..So I went to work. I'm a steering and suspension technician. I don't know anything about emission. I talked to a couple of coworkers for advice on what to do.Change plugs & wires. After that I went to AutoZone.. You know the funny thing. I took the printout to Auto Zone. The guys there told me. I have a faulty PCV Valve. Take my car to a local muffler shop and to change out a o2 sensor. See man that's all I needed to know. Just point me in the right direction. You decide. We took our car to Jiffy Lube for its regular oil checkup. Mistake #1: asked an unhelpful flunky there who could only say they didn't do air conditioning work where we should take the vehicle for work on the air conditioner. The guys at Bill Parks were always courteous. We left the vehicle with them and picked it up a day or two later. A few days later, while we were in the desert, the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. Took it back and they used dye; discovered a small crack. A hefty but reasonable fee and the air conditioning was fixed. Over the perhaps 4 miles it took to drive it back to the office it had difficulty shifting. Upon arrival, transmission fluid was pouring out of the front end and dribbling all over the pavement. A phone call to them, and they said to bring it back immediately. Barely got it there and parked in an available parking spot. The guys backed it out of the parking spot and could get it to go nowhere else. They popped the hood in the parking lot, and after nosing around for a little while, came up with, "It leaks!" They poured transmission fluid in and hooked up the hoses they'd neglected to hook up after repairing the air conditioner. The heat didn't work. Another trip back and we were informed that the radiator needs replacement and the source of the noise under the hood was unknown; they'd have to take it apart. All very expensive. Got another opinion that pointed to the transmission. As it was evident they were unwilling to suspect the transmission after all of this fun, we felt we could either hire a lawyer or get a new car. We decided the latter might be cheaper. If this place were the last shop in town, we'd probably take our vehicle out of town for repair. This is just our opinion after this experience. They seem polite enough, but since we are not mechanics, which is why we took the vehicle to them, we feel that 1. They may have seen fit to use the dye on the air conditioner at the outset and we might not have made quite so many trips for the air conditioner repair, nor enjoyed so much of the desert heat. 2. Since we told them in the phone conversation that the fluid running out of the vehicle was pink or red and the vehicle was hardly able to shift gears, they should have sent a tow on their dime. 3. The guy who answered the phone should have shared with the mechanics that the transmission fluid was gushing out to save them the profound diagnosis out in that hot parking lot. 4. They should have owned up to possibility the transmission may have been ruined with their negligence and made things right. read more
