For example at my prior oil change he mentioned that cabin filter likely needed to be changed soon and showed it to me and that the brakes needed to be changed soon. So I opted to get it done but because of a hectic schedule had to wait a few weeks. Perfect timing to order the parts and schedule the appointment. Got it done and everything works great! These guys have done five or six jobs for me over about five years. They ran from a few hundred to well over $1,000. This included routine mechanical and heater/air conditioner work. There work has always been first rate for me. The only real down side is you almost always have to wait a week or so to get the car in. The cost is very reasonable and the work is done on time pending part availability. A couple of the cars he has worked on for me were over 20 years old and parts availability is an issue in these cases. The owner is knowledgeable and honest and has good people working for him. I had a problem where my 2004 Accord just died, which is bad when I'm heading down US99 at 5 AM heading to downtown Stockton ACE station to take me over the Altamont. I had to turn it all the way off to start it again. In spite of this electrical problem, always known to be tricky to find the cause, they were able to find source of the fault in a loose ground connection on a wiring harness and get me back on the road again. I need a tuneup and I'll be taking it back soon, and look forward to seeing them again. read more

There prices were extremely fair and they were completely honest with everything and even went above and beyond by fixing something they seen needing a tweak. A friend recommended Taylor so I thought I'd give it a try since I'd rather support local, small businesses than dealerships! When I called, I asked if they typically worked on Jeeps and I was told " Oh yeah, all the time!" So I told Mitch over the phone that my Jeep was only 4 years old but was idling weird when I'd come to a stop. He asked me if there was anything else and since I knew they'd have to drive it and just stop only once to see what I was talking about , I mentioned that the ABS light comes on from time-to-time too when I go over a bump ( not knowing as it was infrequent that they'd charge for something like THAT)! When I went to pick it up , Mitch informed me that they couldn't get the light to come on and that what I thought was strange idling was just my tires needing rotation but that'll be $105.00! I reminded him all they had to do was drive it briefly and that I wasn't happy ! He told me that they took 30 minutes of their time and would normally charge $157!!! So I went to America's Tires , had them rotated, and guess what ?! Changed nothing!!! So I called Mitch and he replied that THAT was a discount and recommended a " Jeep place " in Modesto!!!! In other words, I guess they don't know Jeeps and do not work on them! I felt taken advantage of being a female and they could have had a new loyal customer, but now my friend that recommended me said they'll never go back either! So I hope that $105 was worth it! The professional response, being that they diagnosed the one thing I brought it in for incorrectly, hence recommending somewhere in Modesto , would have been to at least refund 50% if not all of my $ OR say bring it back in for no charge and we'll figure it out (not that I had any confidence in them anymore!) They found nothing and did nothing charging me over $100 for " driving it" and spending supposedly 30 minutes of their time! DO NOT go here especially if you're female or you own a Jeep ! On the contrary, Bruce & Jack Automotive told me to bring it in ( granted I've gone there for an oil change but still) , hooked up my Jeep to their code reader and found what it was ... guess what?!!!!! NO CHARGE!! They even showed me and explained to me why the light was going off! They also give AAA discounts! Taylor charged me $78.75 for " not getting the ABS light to come on nor having it show up on their reader". I only mentioned it figuring I might as well since they'll drive my Jeep for the other issue! Guess who has my business and appointment was made ?!!! Highly recommend Bruce & Jack ! read more

I just used Taylor's Automotive a few months ago for my "vintage" 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I needed the Serpentine belt replaced along with the Tensioner and Idler pulley which I got from Mopar myself and brought to this Dealership. GREAT JOB!!! Finally a shop that doesn't cause more problems then they fix & charge you a fair price !!! The wait was long to be initially seen but the owner was GREAT! He patiently answered all my questions, returned my old parts as requested ( As I wanted to compare what a bad pulley felt/looked like vs a new/good one they installed). Mr Taylor even referred me to other local shops to get my suspension and steering gear box re-checked. Took my initial car in for AC service. They had the car done a timely fashion. On the way to pick up the car, my wife stated she would love to have our other car serviced as well. So when I walked into the office, I paid for the AC service of the first car and mentioned the second car. Bob, the owner, stated we could leave the car and they can make sure the service gets done that day. We decided to leave it. After about three hours or so Bob calls me. He stated they did the requested service, but found a lot of leaks from the car. I have known about the leaks, but never decided to fix them. My wife insisted we go ahead and fix the leaks as well as the car was already there. I called Bob back and asked for a quote. The quote was reasonable so I asked for them to g ok ahead and fix all the leaks. I also asked when I can expect the car to be done. Bob stated the following day, but worst case scenario the day after. The following day and at about 4:20 Bob calls me. He informed me that they were almost done, but would have to keep the car another day as it wasn't completely finished. He stated it would be early next day for it to be totally done. Next morning at about 8:40ish Mitch calls me and leaves a message. I call Mitch back and he stated the car was all done. Wow.....done just as expected. My wife and I get to the shop to pay for the work, and to my surprise, the service bill was $100 less than initially quoted. WOW!!!! Brought the car home, and checked under the hood...they did and awesome job, no leaks, cleaned the leaking oil from prior, and it didn't squeak, as it was squeaking prior. Thanks Taylor Automotive!!! After a few hours at Pep Boys for my 100K miles service, a service technician called to tell me that one of my motor mounts was broken and that it would cost $450 to replace it. That seemed high to me, so I declined to have that replacement done. The following Monday (4/16), I took my car to Taylor Automotive, my regular mechanic, and one of Bob's mechanics inspected the motor mount. Sure enough, the rubber of the torque mount had split (Bob showed me the broken mount), a normal occurrence for my car at this point in time. The surprise came in the repair estimate: $98.00. I drive a 2005 Mercury Montego Premier AWD vehicle. Typical older woman who likes the ease of entering and exiting the car, as well as the ride...I love my car. Several months ago the shifting gear assembly froze and we had it towed to Taylor Automotive. I also had an electrical problem with the door locks on the driver side. As a female the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the parking area...you could eat lunch off of the pavement! That observation was followed by the cleanliness and organization of the office and work area. Mitch took our information and, because of the age of the car, he had to search to find a replacement assembly. He called me daily to update me when he'd found a replacement and to keep me apprised as to the progress of the repairs. While he had the car he suggested new wiper blades, a few other minor details that needed attention and, although he doesn't sell them, tires. With such low mileage on the car my tires weren't worn, but they had hardened and Mitch advised me that they should be changed. I truly thought the total invoice would be in the $2,000 range, however when we picked up the car the bill for all the service was $831.00, less than half of my expectations. I was happily shocked! We recommend Taylor Automotive to everyone looking to have their vehicles repaired by an honest and fair, knowledgeable and reliable dealer.
