No drink menu but they'll make almost anything!

Discovered this place on In Kind with an awesome welcome deal and great reviews. We opted to sit in the tavern for more casual vibes and since the dining room was mostly empty. We were a little confused at first due to the absence of weight staff or a drink menu. Everything had to be ordered through the bartender. The bartender was very kind and personable and had great energy. It was unfortunate they did not have their own cocktail list but they were able to make almost anything. We started the meal with the artichoke spinach dip, which was really good and was not too heavy in the way that some versions of this dish can be. We then shared the burger and the fettuccine allow vodka for our meal. The burger was fine, nothing too special and the pasta was really really good! I would buy that sauce in a jar if I could. One of the staff, maybe the owner had also mentioned they had a DJ on the third floor that night so we went up there after dinner. It wasn't too busy but a really nice space. Only downside was I ordered wine that ended up being much pricier than I would've liked, and I had no idea since there was not a drink menu to go off of. It's rare that I go to dinner and drinks all in one place but it was a really fun evening and a great establishment. I really wish the Tavern area was my own personal neighborhood bar!

The restaurant is okay. My friend and I came here and ordered a few small appetizers (fries, wings, dessert) and four drinks. Our total was $163 with tax. We asked for a dark and stormy and what was served was a drink that included a light rum and grenadine instead of dark rum and ginger beer. They didn't bother to tell us until after it was served that they didn't have the two key ingredients of the drink. The fries were just okay (we ordered only the salt/vinegar but they served and charged us for the plain as well), and definitely not worth $24 for the portion and flavor of the two. The spinach and artichoke dip was decent but not amazing and a bit pricey at $17. The $18 wings were okay but overly sauced and a small portion. The dessert was flavorful and probably the best part of the meal. I probably wouldn't come back.

We really had the most enjoyable time going for dinner at 7 on a Saturday. Michael was incredible with his service, his humor, and his hospitality. The crowd skews older but my group of 20-somethings was welcomed and found it more fun than other newer spots. There was live music, which we didn't expect, but it was joyous and participatory!

This place is the best dinner I've had in New York, and I've lived here for 8 years. The restaurant is perfectly lit, super old school New York vibe. We came here for Valentine's Day and the Martinis did not disappoint. They are chilled and fantastically made. Do not miss out on the bills bacon side... it is insane something you would come back for again and again. The mains were all delicious and somehow we made room for dessert. Great service and will definitely be back soon.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. Wonderful people and wonderful service. Needless to say, we will be back as frequently as we can!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
