Well this is our first use of Bill Wright Service department after the fiasco where they but my wife back on the road with bad tires after a routine service where they told me the tires were good. Did I mention this was our last trip to Bill Wright. They did a 15k mile maintenance on the car and sold me cabin and engine air filters. Unfortunately the tech thought the little hose at the back of the engine air filter box didn't need to be connected. So a second appointment had to be made and a second trip to Bill Wright to discover this was what occurred. Thank goodness there is another toyota dealership in town. North Bakersfield Toyota will be getting our business in the future. read more

Went in for 59,000+ basic maintenance, and asked signed in for shuttle. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes, for shuttle to arrive, by the time shuttle called for me, my service advisor informed me my truck would be ready soon, so missed my planned breakfast, and I waited another 20-25 minutes for my truck to finish. My service advisor was very apologetic, and said he planned to bring my situation up at the next service meeting. I believe their service is going downhill, 1 month, since the opening of their new service center, should have most of the bugs out by now. They shouldn't have to depend on their service advisor's to put out their fires for the management. Hey Bill Wright Toyota: Hire more people! The economy is booming! read more

Let me say right off, I never thought I would be reviewing Bill Wright With a Low score. For years and 2 car purchases I have been treated with Respect and good service. Our maintenance experience has been exemplary. But this buying experience has been like a betrayal from an old friend. The Sales and Finance department failed to honor post sales agreements. I had a hard time believing this was the same company we had dealt with so flawlessly in the past. We have purchased Toyotas from Bill Wright and A Southland dealer with excellent results, but to save time decided on Bill Wright first. We went in and sat down with a young salesman who showed us the cars and we went over the specifics that we wanted. Because the car was "Loaded" they did not have the model we specified but told us they could get one and have us check it out. During this time we had a payment coming up on our 2010 Camry but didn't want to pay it if we were going to use it as a trade-in so we waited on payment. The 2014 Camry XLE arrived after 4 days and we were invited down to lookup at it. It was everything we had wished for and sat down to finalize the purchase. During this time because of the delay, we told the sales person we thought we should make the payment due and re-do the purchase agreement to reflect an increased trade-in value, but he said that was not necessary because as soon as finance received it from us, it would be paid off within 2-3 days. We had 7-8 days until there was a problem with the payment so we proceeded with the existing agreement. When we sat down with the finance person (His card indicated he was the Finance Manager), We again told him of our concerns, the situation and our options, and stated that we did not want to get a delinquent notice on this loan. He indicated that we could proceed and there would be no problems in paying off the car on time. During the course of writing up the contract, while making conversation we again sought assurances that the payment would be made and received a "NO Problem" answer. We purchased the Lease and all was well in Mudville as Casey hit a homer. It lasted two days, when our former (We thought) lender called us and told us they had not received payment on the car. We told them that we traded-in and gave them of the assurances given us, and we were sure that the payment was on the way. We also gave the lender the Finance managers number. We also Called the Manager who told us "No Problem", It would be taken care of. Two days later we received a call from our lender, who said that payment was still not forthcoming. we again called the manager and received the same assurances. Two More days passed and a now irate lender informed us that if payment was not made by the next day, a delinquent notice would be filed. My wife then called the finance manager who told us he could not pay the lender until the new car was funded. When my wife reminded him of his prior assurances upon signing the contract, he said he had no memory of the assurances. She then told him (as we had at the signing) that had we known there would be a problem, we would have made the payment and renegotiated the trade-in to reflect the payment. And THIS is where it really gets good, In a manner which was often used in the Prior century (The pat on the head and the Little lady speech), He informed my wife that "it could not have been done this way and she just didn't understand the way these things worked". I find this ludicrous since she has an MBA and was a financial Controller for a decade before her retirement and has participated in the purchase of MANY vehicles, both personally and professionally. Now I was grabbing for the phone but my wife had a cooler head and a fast pivot and asked to speak to the General manager. We finally talked to him about seven that night and he indicated he did not understand why payment was not made and would resolve the problem. The next morning he called and indicated that the payment would be overnighted and hopefully resolve the problem. We called the lender and found out that it would not book in time to prevent the delinquent notice. We made the 700+ dollar payment online and had to wait seven weeks for our refund. Bill Wrights service department has provided excellent service and shown a dedication to Toyota's customer satisfaction business model, So we will continue to use them for our car service. However our next purchase will not be from Bill Wright Toyota, I think I'll take the extra time and drive to the southland dealers. That's the nifty thing about Toyotas, You can buy from dealers who respect you as a customer and still get it serviced locally. If you don't want to take the extra time, or you like to deal with shade tree used car sales tactics, or as a woman, you enjoy denigration, then by all means purchase from Bill Wright. But I recommend you get EVERY detail in writing. This will assist the failing memories of their finance manager. read more

Worst customer service ever. My car broke down near Bakersfield so we took it to Bill Wright Toyota to be checked out. After a full day of having the car in their possession, they couldn't be bothered to even look at it. Despite their assurance that they would call me to keep me updated, I waited for an entire day and did not get a single phone call, not even to tell me that they weren't able to look at it. When I called at the end of the day to see what the deal was, none of their service advisors would even pick up their phones! I was essentially told to call back the next day. It's amazing that a place like this stays in business when they seemingly care so little about their customers. read more

If I were you and I wanted a Toyota, I'd take my business to North Bakersfield Toyota Scion. My twin sister went there, I went to Bill Wright. The customer service she received was wonderful, while mine was sub par. I was lied to about the terms of my financial agreement-from the interest rate to the Toyota care I was TOLD I had, but that was a lie. My interest rate ended up being higher than promised and I found out long after the fact (when I actually needed maintanence on my vehicle) that I did not in fact have Toyota care. I looked into a few Toyota service centers as my air bag lights were on. I drive up and down the state so looked from Sacramento to Bakersfield. By far, Bill Wright Toyota had the most good reviews. My experience was very good. Prompt attention when I pulled in for my scheduled appointment. No hard up-selling. Car done when promised. Sacramento area, and Modesto Toyota have bad reputations. They are totally liars. I decided to replace an oil control valve because they told me my car would be ready on the same day. Later I called (not they called me first) and they said it cant be ready by today but tomorrow morning. I made sure my car should be ready by 11am. I called again on that day. The lady said its ready i went to the service center and found out the car was not ready. Are you kidding me???? My schedule got so messed up. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!! I brought my car in for an oil change. After my oil change, my car was leaking oil on and off. I brought it back in a month later and they said there was residue left (reminder:they were the one that did my oil change) that's why the car was leaking oil. They said they cleaned all the residues out. A couple days later my car was leaking oil again just like before. I brought it in again. They checked my car out and said I needed to replace my power steering rack which is why my car was leaking oil and with parts and labor it would be over $2000. I brought my car into another Toyota location and they told me that I didn't need the power steering rack and my car was leaking oil because there was residue still in there. I called and talked to the manager at Bill Wright and he just said he will talk to his employees. I told him I was very upset with their services and it was very inconvenient because I had to go there 3 times and drive to another Toyota to get a second opinion. He didn't seem to care. So be careful if you go here because they won't do a good job on the service you paid for and falsely say you need to replace a part you don't need. read more

Our daughter and a couple of her friends were on their way to Los Angeles from our home in the Bay Area in our Prius and began to have problems with the car...first the dreaded red triangle appeared, and then finally the check engine light came on! I am so grateful that this happened near Bakersfield and they were able to search on their phones and find this Toyota dealership. They were treated with the best of customer service, including respect for them as young women, detailed explanations of what needed to happen to diagnose the problem, and help with getting them a rental car so they could reach their LA destination in time. Because the car had some major issues that could not be fixed in one day, the girls had to drive the rental car home. My husband and I then drove the rental car back to Bakersfield and picked up our Prius...once again, the same Service Advisor that helped our daughter, Ino, helped us and my husband and I were equally impressed with his customer service. He was sincerely interested in our satisfaction with the work done. Our car had even been washed for us, and it was obviously a thorough car wash, not just a quick and dirty rinsing! Even more impressive was the fact that Ino took the time to call us after we had left and were about two hours into our four hour trip home to make sure all was o.k., and that we were happy. I have had experience with a couple of Toyota dealerships here in Silicon Valley, and am thinking they should take a lesson from this place out in Bakersfield. They could learn something about good customer care. Ino was amazing, but so were the women in the cashier booth, and other customers we observed while we were there were being taken care of equally as well by other employees. I always bring my car here for service. Usually, I don't make an appointment. I bring my car here because they are an authorized service center. I have never had an issue with my car during the time it has been serviced at BWT. The employees are professional and knowledgeable. Even if I have to wait a while for service to be completed, that time is still an excellent investment (as far as I'm concerned) in terms of quality of service, vehicle dependability (which is dependent on the quality of service), and the confidence that I can bring the vehicle back if I have problems. read more

We live on the Central Coast and were driving from AZ to home. We were looking for a hybrid RAV4 and not having much luck. My wife suggested that we stop in Bakersfield because it was on our route home. We set up a visit by email and met up with George Ferguson. He knew we weren't really considering his dealership because they are 2.5 hours from our home. Nonetheless, he treated us very nicely and let us drive their last RAV4 hybrid. They had warned us that many dealers were raising the price of this model due to its popularity. When we got home I checked the locals and they had jacked up their prices by $5,000. I got back to George and we got the model we wanted at the sticker price. To put the icing on the cake, George actually drove the car from Bakersfield to our home (2.5 hours!!) and delivered it to us. George did a lot of other good things for us too. Great guy, great dealership. Super honest, low pressure, knowledgeable. We will go back there when my wife replaces her old Camry. read more

Will not be wasting my time with this dealership again. I had been emailing with one of the online managers for a few days about a specific Toyota Corolla that I wanted. Online manager assured me that they had the exact car that I wanted on the lot and promised me that it would come with everything that I had asked for in the email. The online manager also provided me with a quote and vin number for the vehicle that I wanted. When I arrived at the dealership yesterday, I spoke to a different manager because the one I had been emailing with had already left for the day. I told this man that I had already been emailing back and forth with one of the managers about a car that was supposed to be ready for me and that I was there to pick it up. When the man put the vin number that I had on my email into his computer, it did not exist. After I had driven over 80 miles to buy a car that I had talked with the online manager about, there was no car like the one we had discussed that even existed at this dealership. When the man who was helping me at the dealership looked at the email conversation I had with the online manager, he told me that the information I was given was not accurate at all. After reviewing my emails with the man at the dealership, I discovered that the online manager had lied to me many times about the car, and that I was clearly not going to get the car I wanted from them. After all of this, I had to drive all the way home without a new car. Avoid this business if you do not want to be lied to. read more

I am writing this review because I am concerned and upset. I broke down near Bakersfield and ended up buying a new Toyota Tacoma from this location. I am not a California resident and they filled out the paperwork supposedly to register in Washington, but I just got my plates and they are California. I have to pay taxes for California and license. Plus I have to pay double to register in Washington. What kind of company misleads its customers. And states it's not possible. I've bought vehicles out of state before. They are supposed to register to the location of the buyer. Also I started a refinance with a credit union and the they said the same thing, that it should have been registered to Washington. read more

Bought a used truck from this guys. Overall an ok experience, sales guy was great. What killed it for me was the last few details. Make sure you check to see that the car you are buying has the floor mats! They took it back to "detail" and came back with just a wipe down of armor-all all over the place! And laid down a few paper mats instead of the mats! Last thing before you leave check and double check that they fill up your gas tank.
