I love, love, love this place. Never fave I ever been disappointed with my dish at Billie's. My most favorite dish is their green chili omelette. OMG to die for. AND I FOUND IT!!! This place is really an excellent diner. It has the customary entrance that splits two dinning areas. The place is clean and looks just like the hometown diners you are use to. Casual relaxed atmosphere with friendly and engaging staff. Speaking of the staff, you are greeted warmly upon entering and depending on the time you arrive, you are seated quickly. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and quick to make sure your coffee is always full and hot and that your food is just right and enjoyable. Orders are taken within minutes of sitting down, when you are ready to order and the food is hot and freshly delivered to your table in 15 minutes or less. These times will very depending on when you visit. I visited on a Sunday morning at 7:30 am and there were about 20 people seated at tables when I arrived. Now about the food, it was cooked and seasoned well, the portions were large and the price point was fair for what you ordered. Well worth the price as far as taste and portion were concerned, coffee was hot, fresh with a great smooth flavor not bitter and OJ had a great taste. I highly recommend this establishment for your next meal, it is medium group size friendly as well as kid friendly. Great place for your next family meal. Down home cooking is the way I describe the food at Billies... we enjoyed a Sunday morning breakfast and each of us had something a little bit different... My son had a BLT with mashed potatoes and gravy, my daughter-in-law had pork tenderloin with eggs hashbrowns and pancakes, my husband had chicken fried steak with eggs fried potatoes and toast and I had eggs with sausage and toast and hashbrowns... The portions were huge. I wish my husband and I had shared just because there was so much food on each one of our dishes... So the value of the food was wonderful... Everything tasted perfectly... I think the star of our meal was the breaded pork tenderloin my daughter-in-law had... She decided to forgo the gravy and had a side of hollandaise sauce instead... She said it was so delicious... I have visited Billie's twice this month for breakfast. Both times I ordered the Mexi-skillet with hashbrowns. This is loaded with plenty of delicious flavors and just a hint of heat that easily sets it apart from other establishments in town. Come hungry, this is a big portion! Highly recommend stopping in here for breakfast. We decided to go local instead of chain food and so happy we did. They use premium bacon and eggs. The sour dough toast was delicious too. Visited this past weekend, I got the prime rib breakfast, the prime rib was a gray color and very thin cut, my wife got the breakfast burrito. My wifes burrito had hard potatoes which she sent back with hashbrowns. Both plates were ok, (not delicious). FYI. both plates came out close to warm, which I like my food piping hot. Seemed like the plates were sitting there for a while. We will try again but our first visit was nothing to brag about. read more

I heard great things about Billie's. The first time I went there I took my wife and her mom there for breakfast. We had great service, hot food and we liked it so much that I went back a second time with my wife a few weeks later. The second time was horrible. My wife and I both ordered eggs, toast, hashbrowns and coffee. Very basic order. Coffee was served right away and then the wait started. 45 minutes later still no food and the waitress just said I don't know what happened to your order. Yet everyone around us who was seated after us had already received their food. The waitress proceeded to help other guest and didn't go check on our order. We went to the register and paid for our coffee and left. I don't think we will be going back since the wait staff saw we didn't get our food after 45 minutes and then wouldn't even go check on the order. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants, if not my most favorite restaurant, in Brighton. I can always depend on having great service at the table and excellent food. The prices are very reasonable and I love supporting a locally owned business. My favorite is the green chili. That is some of the best green chili out there. So my wife always bothers me to order here on Sunday mornings and I usually have to refuse. I always order and do pick up because I refuse to sit down in there. I only order food here by phone or online because I just walk in past the hour long wait of a line (before COVID) not sure about now and grab my food which is usually wet and soggy by the time it even gets back to the house. Meh, so-so, average ish diner with smallish portions for the price and bitter coffee. Not super service, but not horrible, once again average or just slightly below average everything. Kids breakfasts are a good bargain, but the smaller than average adult meals were overpriced. We usually go to Main Street Cafe, but today decided to try here. We probably will not be back. I appreciate a restaurant with a good selection of breakfast. Having the country breakfast. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuit and gravy. I like that although they open at 7am they let some waiting out in the cold come in 10 min. Before they opened. Plenty of customers already being cared for by 7 am. Billies is a staple in Brighton for breakfast and lunch dine in. Billies overall quality can vary from day to day however. Over the nearly two decades I've eaten at Billies, the prices have gone up and the overall experience and over all quality has gone down. I have found many other breakfast eateries around the Brighton area I now frequent. I just feel when I do choose to eat at Billies today, the meals I'm served I could have just made at home and saved the money. We used to enjoy breakfast here, we haven't been in a year or so. Decided to go and quickly regretted this decision, the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. I believe our servers name was Margo? Not entirely sure. If you don't enjoy your job and you're going to complain when people ask to order something else then why are you a server? We sat down waiting about 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks. (Margo) walked by and said, "Hopefully someone took your drink order." Some young girl took our drink order while Margo continued walking on her merry way. After piddling around and joking around with other tables, come to find out MARGO WAS OUR SERVER. She got to our table after the young gal brought us our drinks and first words out of her mouth, "It looks like everyone here wants to pounce on me." Ignored her, ordered our food. Order for the two kiddos with us and she questioned one of the meals I ordered for a kiddo asking if they child would eat it all... um what does it matter I'm paying for it. Our food comes and one person ordered biscuits and gravy. I Asked if the biscuits and gravy is usually an egg covered in cheese and gravy. She argued with me saying it wasn't an egg. I took a butter knife flipped it over and said well I don't think biscuits are yellow, that is an egg. She then told me they were short staffed. I feel as though that shouldn't have anything to do with the correct food item being on a plate but whatever. Wound up order 2 more kids meals a little while after at separate times and with each time I ordered she threw a fit, rolled her eyes, said oh my god, and seemed irritated. Again... I'm paying for it so what does it matter? Asked for a refill on my ice water, told me she would be back in a few minutes. Returned with my cup and not a single ice cube was in my cup. After a series of events, we will not be back and if we do I will make sure we are not sitting in this servers section AT ALL! I was once a server I have a lot of sympathy, but this time this was just wrong on so many levels! Avoid this server if you do choose to go, otherwise maybe just avoid at all costs. read more

Food is good but service sucked. They stand behind that they are short staffed but what we witnessed today has nothing to do with being short staffed. We don't mind waiting but the second we came in the door we got the bad looks and was completely ignored by our waiter while she took care of white guest that came in after us. We had the Billy's omelette with Hash browns/ smothered with green chili and country gravy, it was served with 3 mini pancakes! Yummy! Walking in to Billie's, we immediately noticed the retro feel of the place. The furniture in the restaurant were probably the original ones. It was a good, comforting atmosphere. We were sat in our table right away, but after that,the service was pretty slow. The waitress took her time taking our order and our food was also slow in coming out. I didn't think that the place was that busy, but I did realize that lunch crowd was starting to pour in. Food was just okay. I can't remember what I ordered, but it was a meat omelette dish. And my wife had the pork tenderloin. Our food tasted very bland, and her tenderloin was dry, and it the texture was like of processed meat. read more

Service is ridiculously slow more particularly my server was. Everyone else was being checked on, it took ten minutes from being seated to see my server and get my drink ordered. Asked a question about the menu and a minute to decide and my order was taken another 8 minutes later. Total wait for meal since being seated 32 minutes. I drive by this restaurant every morning and it always seems to be busy. I now realize this is due most likely to a lack of other nearby choices. Upon arrival the owner looked at us as "non-regulars" but she did sat us right away. A female young waitress took our drink order and brought it out rather quickly. But then, an unshaven, dirty looking young man took over our table and the service was not good going forward. This young man does not understand customer service at all. He seemed as though he was doing my family and I a favor to serve us. The food was not at all what I expected. The steak I ordered with my breakfast seemed to have been frozen and pressed to extend yield. The chicken fingers tasted freeze burned. The coffee and pancakes were ok but so are the ones at McDonald's at half the price. The carpet was dirty with build up and trash under every table I looked at. The bathrooms are gas station like and water was way too hot-- a sign warned to use at my own risk. If the water is too hot in the restroom, it is probably too hot in other handwashing sinks as well. My concern with this is that employees will be less likely to wash their hands. I saw a fly swatter hanging in the kitchen--sign of no pest control program. There was also a 10 ft fluorescent light leaning against the exit door. These are dangerous when they break as they contain dangerous powder, but it was near where a baby was sitting. Overall, this restaurant needs some serious food safety training; coffee was good; food was inferior and I would rather go to IHOP or Village Inn; service was ok by some waiters but horrible by others. Ps: while we were sitting down, we heard our waiter arguing with another waitress and the owner about who should get the tip from the table next to us. Not professional. read more

So the BF and I decided to stay in for NYE and get up early and go have breakfast on New Years Day. I suggested snooze, he reminded me it was 15 degrees out.. I didn't want to stand outside in the cold so he suggested Billie's. I'd never been there before but he promised it was good. We drove on over, hoping they were open, and they were! So we went in it wasn't very busy yet so we got a table right away. He had a burrito which he said was very good. I had the stuffed french toast. At this very moment I'm still (15 days later) craving that french toast. I love french toast, but it has to be right. If it's too soggy in the middle or too eggy it makes me want to urp. This was perfect! Now as far as "stuffed french toast" goes I thought it was going to be like a french toast puff taco or something, it's actually two pieces of french toast made to perfection with the stuffing of your choice in the middle. It either comes with strawberries, or bananas and pecans. I went for the bananas and pecans. So good! I also only got the 1/2 order. It was totally enough. Imagine a french toast sandwich with cream cheese, pecans and bananas cut in half. I guess if you did the whole order you'd have two sandwiches. Geesh!
