We did have a bit of a wait before our server came by, so we asked a few staff members for assistance. A gentleman named Daniel stepped in, went to find our server, and when he couldn't locate them, he kindly took our order himself. Daniel checked on us several times throughout breakfast and gave truly excellent service. The food also came out pretty quickly, and the French toast was amazing as always. This location has a good flow of patrons coming through. I went around brunch time during the work week and it had a constant flow of people while I was there. I went alone to read and enjoy some food and the service was really nice. Very attentive, but they also kept me to myself when I was reading. Looked like it was even the manager that was coming by to refill peoples coffee and water. He noticed I didn't get my toast and immediately had them come by and drop it off. At first I was nervous about how the cornbeef hash was going to taste because of how it looks, but it tasted just the way I like. It came with a large amount of hashbrowns. Came here this morning with my husband and my daughter and everything was great. The food was excellent, everything tasted fresh and well made. Our server Paola was amazing, very attentive, kind, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Honestly all the staff were great, anyone who walked by checked on us and asked if we needed anything, which I really appreciated. The owner was there and that stood out to me. He was present, walking around, making sure everything was running smooth, and just had a really welcoming energy. You don't always see that, and it made the experience feel even better. Usually I have to hold my daughter up because bathrooms can be so dirty, but this one was very clean and well kept. I gotta say though, there's always a wait, and because we're such a big party, we end up waiting for an incredibly long time because they only have like 2 big tables. The staff is unable to push tables together to accomodate our party of 10...we always need to wait for people to vacate the large tables in the back. For that reason, we're always raging hungry be the time we get to the table, and it's not fun anymore. Other than that, the service is just fine even though the restaurant is always crowded, especially during weekend brunch time. The food was better this time, but the service was worse. When we sat down, the table was already crowded. For a party of 10 we had 3 jelly containers plus hot sauce and syrup, which left no room once the plates came. The portions are huge and usually take 2 plates, so the tables really need to be cleared before meals come out. Our server felt very rushed, and the food runners made things confusing. For example, I ordered country fried steak with hash browns and scrambled eggs. They only said "eggs and hash browns" when they dropped it off. Nobody ordered just that, so we all looked around not knowing who it was for. Only after some frustration did they say it was part of the country fried steak order. That kind of communication made the meal stressful. The worst part was at the end. I asked for a to-go box right before we paid, but the server never came back. We waited more than 10 minutes, tried to get help from others, and even asked a busser who never returned. I finally had to get up and grab one myself. Our server, Scarlet, never came back to the table at all. If you can't serve a party of 10 with patience and basic communication, maybe this isn't the right job. I really wanted to enjoy our experience at Jim's Cafe because the food itself had some positives, and I appreciated that they were even open and answering phones on Memorial Day. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt disorganized and lacking in customer service. When we called, we were encouraged to join the waitlist, which initially seemed like a great system. There were 17 people ahead of us, but the list moved extremely fast; our name came up in less than 15 minutes while we were still driving over. Since parking is very limited and we weren't close enough yet, we added our name again and waited in the car once we arrived. We then received a text saying our table was ready. THREE minutes later, we got another text saying we had been removed from the list. Considering the parking situation and the fact that there's a walk involved, that felt unreasonable. I immediately called and was told they only give people about 4-5 minutes to arrive depending on how busy they are. However, my phone clearly showed we were removed after only 3 minutes, and I had called within 4 minutes. When I politely asked about the policy at the front counter, the employee explained that management tells them to remove people after 3-5 minutes depending on how busy they are. The interaction itself also felt dismissive; there was little eye contact or customer engagement while speaking with us or seating us. As for the food, I ordered the California omelette with egg whites, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. My date ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of hashbrowns. The biscuits were soft, and the hashbrowns were honestly the best part of the meal: fluffy, homemade, and delicious. Unfortunately, the gravy itself was not very tasty. There were also some cleanliness and service concerns. The silverware was not very clean, and we had to replace our coffee cups as well. Our server was not very attentive, and we eventually had to look for him just to get our bill. Unfortunately, this feels like a restaurant that has become so popular that it can no longer consistently provide quality customer service to match the demand. Customer service and cleanliness is as important as the food for me, so I won't return. If customer service details and attentiveness are important to you, this may not be the place for you. I'm new to Fremont and have been to Bill's cafe 3 times. Each time I've been, the restaurant has been packed with lines out the door. Despite how busy they always are the food is always consistently prepared quickly and is SO good! The service is unmatched! My coffee cup is NEVER empty and even if the staff perceive something to be not quite perfect, they'll offer to replace it. One time they served us some soft hash browns on a busy, holiday weekend. We didn't mind and were eating them without any issue, however because the staff noticed they commented on it and offered some well done, crispy hash browns and then also offered us an additional side of bacon. Despite being so busy the restaurant is clean, cozy and well maintained. I'm consistently so impressed and always have such a fantastic meal and dining experience everytime we eat here! read more

The chicken was juicy and not dry at all. The chicken all came with dark meat, wing, drumstick, and thigh. The waffle was soft, but could be a tiny bit crispier.
