Such a cute, classic american diner and great for brunch! I just loved the 50's vibe from the decor to the booth seating. They have lots of variety on their menu and had some specials. Very fun to sit in the sparkly pearlescent pink booths, listen to oldies, and admire the decor. I love diners and always want to check them out especially for breakfast and burgers. My French toast (two halves) was the standard Sysco or Krusteaz, but nicely griddled on the flat top, and eggs and bacon were done right. I also ordered a single pancake because I like crispy pancake edges and generally leave the pancake middle (admittedly, this is not normal behavior). This time I basically left the whole pancake. Will have to come back and try the lunch items. Service was wonderful, and not just to me (I was very impressed with the server's patience as this elderly woman tried to brag that she was "fluent" in Spanish and wanted to order and converse in a language for which she did not have the words for things like "decaf," "another plate," or "check." I don't know how pre-scrambled egg product, canned gravy (possibly a mix) and spongy food service biscuits resemble a 50s diner but here we are. I'll just talk about what was good. The bacon was great - irregularly shaped bacon slices perfectly rendered with chewy and crispy parts. The single pancake I ordered for my girlfriend was excellent. My boyfriend and I like coming here when we're running errands in the Fremont area. The service here is really good! They are very friendly and your food comes out quicker than other diners for sure! The quality of the food is also great however the last time I came here I tried their French toast & I felt like it was missing more cinnamon & egg. Pretty good parking. Definite diners vibe, diner tables and seats, photos of actors and cars and locals. It gets pretty packed but the flow is pretty good so you're not waiting long. Once you come, you seat yourselves. We only found tables that were just vacated but someone came over quickly to clean it up for us. They are always coming around to fit your coffee mug. There wasn't really a kids menu that we saw in case you're coming with kids. You could always do a bunch of sides though. They've got a senior citizens menu. Food was great. Big portions. The cornbeef hash is made in the style I like. It was delicious! Pancakes were nice and fluffy. The aisles are pretty tight so not necessarily that accessible, but they do have tables outside that are accessible. You go up to the counter to pay. Love this local staple. read more

The vibes inside the place gives me the 80s look since they used furniture that are more classical. It is a small restaurant, but also serve good food. The service is top notch since the staff are able to serve me food quicker more than I expected. The pancakes taste good especially the sausage. Also like the other food too. And any restaurant can survive the harsh business world is A OK in my book. Plus they do serve good American comfort food and maintain a reasonable price. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean but not up to date. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey due to inflation. 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of American food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in USA. I've lived in Fremont my entire life & pass by this place almost every single day but only recently decided to visit on a Sunday. Although the restaurant had lots of people inside + out, we managed to get seated immediately! While the menu might not the most unique or have anything that differentiates it from newer brunch spots, sometimes a classic omelette, hash browns and toast with butter on the side hits so hard in the morning. The service here is great! Although it was busy, our waitress still checked up on us very often & asked us if we needed anything. We were looking for a diner-type restaurant for late lunch and we found this restaurant on Yelp. One thing I always do before deciding on where to eat is to look at the menu on Yelp! I saw that they had chicken and waffles so I was pretty excited to try them out for the first time! When we parked, the first thing I notice is the Elvis statue outside on the patio! That definitely gave it a diner feel! Once we walked in, a waitress was very nice and welcoming and let us know that we could sit wherever we liked. We sat in a booth and the server brought us menus and some iced water. I was a little underwhelmed with the decoration of the interior. I've been to a few diners before and this diner had a very basic interior. But the servers were very friendly and very nice. Even though the place started to get busy, they never forgot to check up on us. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles and also the Pigs in a Blanket (which were sausages rolled in pancakes). For the chicken and waffles, the waffle was just okay. The flavor was a little bland. The chicken was pretty good, the meat easily fell off the bone. I think one thing I didn't really like was that it was covered in a lot of breading. It was nice to try a different type of diner, but I don't think we'll be returning. read more

Classic Diner has been here for many decades. it's decor memorializes the rock & rolls days of Elvis et al. same music is played in the background. dining seating is an inverted U area surrounding the kitchen in the middle. offerings: breakfast specials, senior breakfast, benedicts, apps, grilled favs, apps. shakes, desserts, omelettes, meat lovers, south of the border, sides. eats: smoked salmon benedict with hash browns (18.99) -lots of average tasting hash browns cooked decently with an edge of burnt hash browns which i didn't eat. forgot to take pic.... -smoked salmon tasted, overly salty. -hollandise sauce was plenty and thick, didn't have any pizzaz. drink: root beer float (6.99) -only house barq root beer available, a Coca-Cola product. -vanilla ice cream tasted generic, nothing outstanding. -passed on pricey "farmers" coffee (3.75), an average tasting coffee usually sold at donut shops and budget cafes. 3.5 stars quantity was present, quality was not. leftovers: -though there were few patrons, there was a rush ambience whereby i felt pressured to order a drink. water was never offered. i didn't ask.. -nostalgic ambience allusive since i couldn't connect with food. actually got hiccups from unconsciously eating too much food at once. *doubtful repeat. benedict was the wrong item to order. omelettes or a southern variant would have been better. drinks aren't worthy... -lots of parking in big lot @Crossroads read more

Friendly fast service, nice clean restaurant, and good food at an unbeatable price. Loved visiting this diner I've passed by so many times and had never stopped by to eat. I have been missing out. The staff is so friendly and provide such fast service here. The food was great to. I loved the fact that they were so accommodating to me I providing the extra salsas and even roared Serrano peppers for my meal. It's rare to find breakfast restaurants that can get the spice I like. This place is fantastic for the vibes of a 1950s diner. Sadly, the food is just adequate. While filling, the pancakes I ordered only came with a small cup of syrup (think the size that comes with cough medicine) and the chorizo eggs my husband ordered were good but came with a huge side of slightly soggy hash browns. The bacon was chewy and delicious however. Also our waitress was accommodating, I asked for blueberry syrup she said she didn't have any but she brought me some warmed up blueberries that when smashed were syrup like.
