I don't know where to begin, even while it pains me to have to share the two stories I am about to recount. To begin with, we have used Bill's Auto in the past while dealing with two long term service managers; both whom have been respectful and professional. Importantly, we understood that Bill's Auto was a premium shop, so paying premium prices when important work was required didn't bother me, until the following incidences occurred. Incident 1: Less than one year ago, we agreed to have Bill's Auto install shocks and struts to the front end of an older van in the household. This past August, well within the one year warranty and mileage requirement period, the driver's side strut collapsed while our daughter was driving home locally without injury thank God. Bill's Auto fixed the problem via warranty. About one month after that, the passenger side strut collapsed while I was travelling home on the 101 Freeway. Each time the affected tire inverted or angled inward to the center of the vehicle. Once again, thank God, nobody was hurt even travelling at the freeway speed. Bill's Auto stood by the warranty to fix it again, except this time we were really concerned and couldn't fathom statistically how two different "new parts" on both sides of the same vehicle failed within one month of each other. It seemed statistically eery. The service manager explained to us that he was also very surprised, but this time they were going to put the name brand Monroe parts on the vehicle instead of what I came to find out was O'Reilly's Chinese manufacturer on the other two defective parts. We seemed to be paying premium prices for sub standard parts, something I hadn't known until then. I am not a mechanic; therefore, I trust the professionals who are to do the right things when dealing with our vehicles. We made no large beefs about this other than inquiring for assistance from the manufacturer beyond just normal warranty coverage since we believed, Bill's Auto, and O'Reilly's Auto Parts had exposed our family to great loss, and it was only by luck that nobody was injured. The service manager told my husband that if he asked O'Reilly to do anything beyond the warranty coverage notwithstanding the severity of this ongoing problem with their parts manufacturer, they would tell him to tell me to "go pound sand." Notwithstanding having felt harmed for the inconveniences that didn't abate just one time, we accepted the work completion as Bill Auto's delivered it to my family. Incident 2: A few weeks ago, a temperature light kept appearing and reappearing on the same aforementioned van. The gage would go from hot to cold, and cold to hot. Considering what happened with Bill's Auto earlier, we were hoping, well, expecting that if we brought the vehicle to them for investigation, they would be as fair as possible with me after what was already described in incident 1. Please mind us, the Bill's Auto Team, seem like the nicest guys in the world, and over time, we had come to TRUST THEM! What occurred next is truly mind boggling to me, and this was the final trigger for what led us to this venue in order to express ourselves. Firstly, Bill's Auto charged us about $58 all in after a $5 coupon and less the free candy bar he offers his guests, in order to do a "diagnostic test" on the engine block. When the service manager called us as a follow up, he stated unequivocally to my husband and me on the phone that he only had "bad news," even after we asked for other "band aid" options versus his draconian recommendation--but really a demand because he said the car was junk without following their remedy--that the van "failed" the engine block test meaning somehow fumes(CO2) got into the block and the cylinders would be no good as a result, therefore, we needed to install a new engine at 7K. He also said the water pump had been leaking asking if I had seen fluid where the car is parked, which we had never seen then nor now. This leads me to the conclusion after leaving Bill's knowing we would purchase a new car versus putting a new engine into that twelve year old Oldsmobile. The service manager wished us well apologizing for the loss during the whole experience. We immediately brought the car to another reputable mechanic in town whom we had come to trust as well. This mechanic does not charge to assess damages. The bottomline is that, our vehicle passed his engine block test, was not leaking any fluids relating to the water pump, and only needed a new "thermostat" to continue its useful life. With all of this in mind, I have stopped payment for the diagnostic test on our credit card. In addition, we made a long back and forth trek to San Francisco with the same van last week, and it drove perfectly without any incidents. Man this place sucks. I mean, SERIOUSLY sucks. The guys can be nice when you're there, but they never seem to call you back in any sort of timely manner and the last few times I've been there, I've had to return for the same problem. I've been there several times for two reasons: 1 It's close from my GF's place, and for some reason that's where I am whenever I have car trouble. 2 I can't remember what other reason brings me there. The straw that broke the camel's back, the reason they will never get my money again just happened. I was driving over to the GF's place, and what-do-you-know, my engine is crazy overheating and coolant is leaking out of its little container all over my engine. Where was I when this happened? That's right, about 5 blocks from this place. This was actually convenient because the two previous regulators they installed in my power-window after it was smashed didn't work, so they needed to take a look at that any way. After waiting a week, they finally call me with a ridiculous estimate to fix the over-heating/coolant-leaking thing and tell me that it wasn't the window regulator this whole time, it was the motor itself. Shit, so it's not covered under warranty, it's a shit-ton of money and you missed that both the times you were in there looking at it already. Great. I told them not to do anything, I'll come get the car. I gotta' guy in Thousand Oaks that rocks and is way more friendly to the ol' credit card. When I pick up the car to limp it home, they didn't even put the door with window back together and left the little coolant container hanging by the tubes that feed the liquid to the engine. I took my car to Bills three times in the last year for break service. Each time I went for service the disks were squeaking and I was told by Bill's Quality Auto Care that the pads needed to be replaced at the expensive price of $ 139 per axle. When I asked the service manager at Bills why I needed to replace my breaks so often I was told by that it was a design flaw in my car and that is just the way my car is. The last time I went to Bill's for break service I was told by the service manager that the break pads calipers and rotors needed to be replaced at the price of $459 per axle. It was at this time that I was suspicious of the integrity of Bill's Quality Auto Care and the service manager that works there. It was at that time that I went to another auto repair shop to get another opinion on the break service of my car, at this shop I was told that the breaks pads the rotors and calipers "did not" need to be replaced and the breaks just need to be re surfaced. I was also told that there is no design flaw with my car and that I will not have to replace parts as often as I was told at Bill's Quality Auto care. After my experience at Bill's Quality Auto care I would defiantly "not recommend" to anyone to go to this repair facility ever for any kind of service. I feel I was ripped off royally and very upset about all the unnecessary repairs that Bill's Quality Auto care charged me a fortune for. In this economy with life being difficult enough I absolutely feel sick that there are people in business like the people at Bill's Quality Auto care. read more

After searching the internet for the best place to get a smog for my car... I was left with no choice but to see what all the great ratings were about! I called, and the gentleman (Alex) helped me figure out if the DMV required a test only or certified smog. He waited patiently as I searched my paperwork. I went down there and it was a great atmosphere to take my toddler with me, as she is quite active. I waited with a complimentary coffee and unlimited water supply (i am pregnant) and everyone there was very accommodating. My smog was done in a timely fashion and we left with the paper work I needed to complete my title transfer and a chocolate bar with a 5$ off coupon for my next service needed attached to it! Wouldn't go anywhere else for my mechanical needs. This place does a great job and doesn't hassle with trying to sell you stuff you don't need. Love it, was a great experience and this is the small town shop that does it's people right. Thank you Bills for taking the panic away from getting necessary car work taken care of! These guys are crooks. No lie. If you are just getting your oil changed, brake pads, etc.. you'll probably be ripped off anyway. I should have trusted my instincts and just requested basic work with these guys. However, I asked to have my brakes bled and shit hit the fan. They are professional right? Just vacuum out the fluid and replace it. Nope, ghetto way, stomped the shit out of my brakes until the master cylinder broke. Fine. But to let me drive out of there with a broken master cylinder? That's not cool at all. Of course I bring it back. They proceed to bend me over and rape me to the tune of $790 for a new cylinder. My bunghole still hurts. If I have time, I'd BBB them. read more

OMG! My new car shop!!! I can't thank Alex & Bill enough for their help when I desperately needed it! They fixed my truck in one day, figured out what my problem was & spent a lot of their quality time explaining to me, in detail what the problems were. Another mechanic told me my truck needed a new engine, that I should get a new car, when in fact I didn't, and it was repairable. I saved a lot of money and stress!!! Bills Auto Care is the most honest trustworthy, auto repair business I have ever used in the valley. I have lived here my entire life and my wife has worked for the city for over 30 years. We have had the opportunity to have our car repaired by many repair places in the valley. Bill's mechanics are the best at what they do and most have worked for him for years and years, which should be a clue that he hires and retains the best. It is hard to find a fair and reasonable repair shop but an honest shop is even harder to find. Bill's is the only place I allow to work on all my cars now. read more

Needed oil changed in manual transmission and differential on my old Dodge. Went to Bill's automotive, given a price of $380 come back in 3 hours, everybody's going to lunch. Leads me to believe the customer is not that important. Observed 4 people doing nothing but playing with pets in the office and setting at computers.
