Driving from downtown Chicago back to Milwaukee found this place thanks to Apple Maps. Let me tell you I was BLOWN AWAY. Hands down the best Chicago style pizza I've been had in my life. The smells at Viccino's is excellent when I first walked in. They have a back door secret entry way that kind of winds through (seems like most pizza places do for some reason). We came in for a fresh made sandwich - an Italian Panino (for us fed two - really good sized). Definitely hit the spot and I thought the pricing was very good. Bread is baked fresh and made in house - since it's a pizza joint, they do bread all day long. The meats were generous and the Italian dipping sauce and pickle/pepper a great way to make your mouth water. Honestly next time I need a sandwich I'll definitely make Viccino's on my list. read more

Very convenient location, tucked away in the corner of Plaza Del Prado. Parking is always available but you may need to park a little bit further depending upon the time of day. Online ordering is always ready by the time requested, however today I did arrive 10 minutes earlier and it was ready for me within 2 minutes! I would recommend their calzones as the bread is really soft and they are always fully stuffed. Their pizza is good option as well, we usually get their Hawaiian pan pizza (yes we like pineapple on our pizza). Inside the store there's a small area for dining, but I think most people do carry out. If you come here frequently, it's worth the deal to save the coupons to get 50% off a pizza. Always appreciate that this location helps out with local fundraisers in an effort to give back to the community! read more

Incredible Experience! I'm a deep dish pizza nut and I've tried a lot of places throughout the Chicagoland area and I have to say that that my recent visit to Viccino's undoubtably ranks as the best deep dish pie I've ever had. Great crust, great flavor from all the toppings on the Special(sausage, mushroom, green peppers, and onion), not too greasy or messy. They really nailed it. I have been a going to Viccino's since I was little and have always said it's my favorite pizza. I usually go to the Harlem location (which is still as good as ever) but decided to stop in at the Pfingsten location and was highly disappointed with the experience. The girl who took our order was very nice but I was confused why she said "you can grab your receipt if you want" and having me awkwardly rip the receipt out of the printer instead of doing it herself. We ordered fountain drinks and I go over to see half of the fountain drinks had sticky notes saying they were "out." If I had known that I would have ordered a canned drink instead. I would have appreciated a heads up before paying $3.00 for the fountain drink. As we sat down I could see there was grime on the walls and the place really needed a deep clean. None of the employees seemed to care about how they presented themselves. The worst was when one of their employees walked in from the Jewel next door. Through the grocery bag I could see he bought a bottle of Jim Beam and brought it back to the kitchen. A little while later I saw he came out of the kitchen with a small styrofoam cup (the kind used for dipping sauce) and appeared to be sipping out of it. I have a feeling he was drinking the bourbon, especially since he looked a little drunk. He seemed to be sitting back and relaxing like he was the manager, but I grew more concerned later when I heard the other employees telling him about a delivery order. I really hope this man is not a delivery driver given that he's drinking on the job. Manager or delivery driver, this isn't okay. As far as the pizza goes, we ordered slices, which I've had numerous times before. These slices had that reheated taste and texture, where there's a slight refrigeration flavor and the sauce is thicker. I know slices are reheated but maybe these had already been reheated multiple times or were older. It still had most of the Viccino's flavor but definitely not fresh. As we were leaving another one of their employees was collecting the Parmesan cheese containers from each of the tables. He then started dumping all the cheese into one to-go container. I'm assuming they were saving the cheese to refill the next day or to use later. I'm not sure how they can keep track of expired cheese if they keep reusing the same one over and over. I hope this isn't a representation of practices used in their kitchen. I'm very highly disappointed and disgusted with everything I saw and will not be coming back to this location. It is so poorly managed and it's reflecting on the restaurant in every way. If you want Viccino's, the Harlem is better managed, more customer friendly, cleaner, and has fresher food. read more

Wishing I could give a better review as the location is convenient and service has been seamless. More often than not I've done take out but when dining in the other day the service was actually outstanding. The owner stopped by our table to check in which was unusual and appreciated. We started with 2 salads which were really small. The pizza was ok but nothing to write home about. They used to do a "Monday night football" deal which was really great. I usually don't go out of my way to review restaurants, but this will be an exception. I ordered spaghetti here and thought it was probably the second best restaurant spaghetti I've ever had. The seasoning is phenomenal. There are chunks and bits of Italian sausage in the meat sauce, which add so much extra to the dish. The portion is very generous for the price. I enjoyed it so much I finished the entire thing- something I never do when ordering spaghetti at a pizza place. The only thing I didn't like was the bread that came with the spaghetti. It wasn't very well seasoned. Although, it was cooked PERFECTLY. I would also like to give a shoutout to the delivery woman, Allison, who gave us our food. She was extremely nice and went above and beyond for us even though she didn't have to. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

Ordered a deep dish (pan) for pickup. There was a mixup we we put in order online with the coupon we tried to use. The manager Destiny helped us out and got the coupon in for us. You can tell she cares about the shop and the customer. Pizza was very good and I'd order again. Sauce was more than a bit on the salty side. Not sure if it is normally that salty or there was just a mix up. Good sauce either way but might not be a favorite of someone who doesn't like salt. So, typically-I really enjoy viccinos. As a lover of pepperoni, I usually go that route but today I came in and ordered a slice with green peppers. Green peppers usually make for a solid slice. After a short wait, I got a huge slice topped with a heaping amount of green peppers. Here's the problem, the green peppers seemed uncooked. As if they were put on after the slice was taken from the oven. Is this typically how this spot handles their green peppers? Raw green peppers on a pizza? Do they treat mushrooms the same way? If so, I will not be ordering either of these toppings. I tend to order whole pizzas and not slices. Their slices are cooked earlier and then topped with the toppings of your choice and ideally should get put back in the oven. read more

5 Stars to Viccinos at Genview Rd. & Harlem Avenue. I had a favorite Italian Restaurant that my entire family and I have used for many years. There was a misundersstand between my sister and the owner. So, most of our family and friends no longer go there. I always saw kids eating a big slice of pizza outside on the patio. So, I asked my teen age neighbor if he ever had their slice of pizza? He responded to me quickly, you will love it and the slice is so big it will fill you up. I tried the thin crust cheese. OMG it was like I died and went to Heaven. I have tried some of there other items. The Chicken Cobb salad with their home made bread it outstanding! I will order this once a week. I get the half salad as the large could actually feed 3 people. I have tried their Spinach Lasagna - fabulous! I am 100% Italian and I know good food when I taste it. It tastes very much homemade ( Like my Mom, My Wife & Nonna would make) and the flavors are balanced with every bite, except when close too the crust...tastes better because that's my favorite! I've grown up eating this pizza and food and I crave the paninos here. What's not to love about this fantastic sandwich. It has all the right fillings, cooked just right and comes with an Italian dressing that's just the right compliment. The full panino is more than enough for one person and is definitely big enough for two adults to share. On this visit we ordered the Italiano panino, the Italian trio sub- toasted and the lunch special- two slices of pizza and a drink. Each of the sandwiches also come with a bag of chips. The lunch special is a great deal as you can eat one slice and take the other home, you can choose pan or thin crust pizzas or mix and match. The Italian sandwiches have the same meats and fixings but in my opinion the panino is better as the flavor mix with the focaccia is just right. read more

Went here with my wife and kiddos on Friday after a 6 hour drive from mn. Glad we went for it. The staff was nice, owner super friendly, and the pizza was next level. it was so good we ordered it for 60+ lax families the next night. The roma crust was a hit with the kiddos and the deep dish (dulce and Windy City with hot gardenia pepper$) is AMAZING. Something tasted incredibly funky about the crust. I don't know if they used whole wheat crust or whatever, but it tasted too 'wholesome' for my taste, and I'm really not a fan of 'diet pizza' as pizza by definition is something you indulge in. The cheese also freely slid off it's cracker too easily. The sauce, crust, spinach combination just felt quite off. I will NEVER order from Viccino's again - and not because of the food. I was a regular customer and ordered a pizza at least every two weeks, usually one per week. A few weeks ago I asked my wife to call in and order for delivery. The young lady on the phone asked to put her on hold and when she got back told my wife "I'm sorry but our pizza oven is broken and we cannot take any orders". My wife, being a trusting and sweet woman, accepted this at face value. I did not. I called back from my number and asked to order a pizza for takeout. The same young lady began taking my order and was about to finalize payment. Clearly the pizza oven was not broken and the staff on hand simply lied to avoid making a delivery. I understand restaurants are short staffed - and I've been part of a restaurant with short staff! But I never condone lying and particularly not to customers. If she had simply said "I'm sorry we don't have staff to accommodate a delivery" I would have understood and picked up my pizza! Instead Viccino's lost a customer and gained a vocal dissident. read more
