I'm don't recommend this place for anything! I went there because my windows weren't working and mike the service advisor told me the window wires had been cut up and it would take several hours to diagnose. Took my truck elsewhere and they put the wires back together and boom windows working again. Mike said my truck was leaking oil and I told him there's no way because I have no oil stains anywhere where I park my truck. I told him go ahead and fix it. When I got my truck back i than noticed that it was leaking oil when the truck never did before I took it to them. That's just a couple of things, I won't keep on about everything else. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! You will go in with one issue and come out with ten more. I'm not even going to try to go and fight for some of my money back and crap they messed up. Had a regular oil change done at this location as usual, they call me to notify me my battery is in bad shape and needs to be cleaned which would cost $25.00 extra. I say ok, then they call me and say acid dripped down to the cables and the whole unit would have to be replaced. I asked how much, they quoted over $900. Mind you, my car is a 2017, never an issue with it before they touched my battery. I declined at that time as i was livid at the price. When I picked up my car, acid was still everywhere, they told me that was the best they could do. Couldn't start my car the next day. Spoke to the supervisor, my husband spoke to the supervisor, he couldn't understand our issues and why we were so upset. if my battery was that bad, service didn't notice in the oil change 2 months prior?? After yelling, the supervisor said they would cover the battery and labor, but nothing more. They needed to wait on a recall part to do the work all together on my vehicle. Said they would call us back within 2 days. We are going on 2 weeks now, no phone call from anyone. My husband cleaned the battery the day after this, car started right up. But then yesterday, my car would not start, had my kids in the car and got stranded. Called AAA and they came right away. Saw the battery and said Ford should of never let me leave with it in that shape. So after weeks of waiting on Ford, I took my car to Pep Boys after the referral from AAA, paid $185 out the door with a brand new battery and terminal. Horrible service from Billy Howell in Cumming and I will not be returning, not even to finish out my oil changes with my VIP package. read more

Dealer had a "sale" and said my 2002 truck was worth $8200 toward a new model. I pick out a 2020 F150 work truck that was listed for $42K. My initial thought was OK we can start negotiating at about $34K. Tax and tag were added which was OK. Next is when the horror story started, a factory install item needed to be added back, BH then added a $1400 item for something. Then a parade sales and mgt people came in to point out additional charges which magically brought the price back to $42K. I did end up getting the truck, not because I was happy with BH but, because I wanted to replace my 19 yo truck. I drove the truck for about 300 mile but could not get the horror negotiations out of my mind. I ended up trading truck for a RAM that is an order of magnitude smoother and more quiet than the Ford. Avoid BH like the plague. read more

I had my 2018 F-150 transmission serviced on 1-24-22 (and cooling system and spark plug replacement) at Billy Howell Ford. I began to have them service my truck after I moved to Cumming in May of 2021. Within 2 weeks my transmission began shifting VERY erratically. Sometimes going "out of gear" suddenly and shortly after going back into gear suddenly. I spoke to the service, manager (because I couldn't get a return call from Mike Kelly-the service advisor I had seen) and was told it might have something to do with increased viscosity of new transmission fluid. I was told to bring it in to have checked. I finally was able to on 3-28-22 (some delay as their transmission "guy" was on vacation). I waited for the service for about 2 hours and was then told by Mike Kelly that I needed to replace the transmission - cost would be $7,700+ dollars for a Ford rebuilt transmission. I was stunned as I had had no problem with the transmission until about 1-2 weeks after they had "serviced" it. Told them I would take the truck home and decide what to do. Mike told me he would contact the Ford service rep and see if Ford would help out in some way (financially). He said it would take a couple of days to get an answer from Ford. I called Akin Ford in Winder and the cost to do exactly the same-replace with a Ford rebuilt transmission would be $6,500. A week later (about April 4th) I called Mike to see what Ford said. He told me they hadn't responded to him yet and that he would let me know as soon as he heard -he wanted to get it fixed as badly as I did. Today is April 16th and I still haven't gotten a call from him. I have tried to call him twice since April 4th and left messages for him to please call me. I haven't heard a word from him. I have traded the truck now. I mentioned the problem to Akin Ford in Winder and took about a $4,000 to $5,000 loss due to the problem. I will never set foot in Billy Howell Ford again. I'm very disappointed that there isn't a Ford dealer close to me that I can trust. read more

Bruce Casatleberry was a comfortable person to work with, no pressure and very informative. He knew all the answers. The truck we looked at for 2 days was sold when we returned on the 3rd day. Bruce took our info and promised to keep a look out for what we were looking for. 3 days later he called with good news. The truck we were looking at came back for credit issues. This is going to be long and detailed so for those who don't want to read the entire thing just take my advice and NEVER use the service department at this dealership unless it's free. The labor fee is higher than any other mechanic around and unfortunately the diagnosis on my vehicle was incorrect. One of the items I wanted looked at was not fixed. They did however fix another part of my vehicle that they thought was causing the issue I was having. I have come to the conclusion that they didn't need to fix that part at all and it cost me about $500. After I realized I was having the same problem they were suppose to fix I called back to try and get it looked at. I called the service advisor several times and texted him as well. I never received a return call. I called the service director and left him a few messages but he did not return my call either. I finally had to call the Owner, who actually called me back almost immediately, and within minutes I got a call from both. They said I could bring my vehicle back immediately so they could look at it again. I did so and they determined that the problem I was having was an "operating characteristic" of the 5.0 engine and there was no repair for it. I have reached out to the service director to discuss why the other part was replaced when it had nothing to do with the problem I brought it in for but after 2 days I haven't received a call back. I guess they figure ignoring me is the best option so I decided this was the only thing i could do to make sure others know how they operate. So I'm out the $500 for a repair that didn't have to be made and that's the short version of why you should probably look elsewhere. Horrible customer service and unnecessary repairs should be your concern. read more

All service on my vehicle (2013 Ford Edge) has been performed by Billy Howell Ford. In the past 6 years, I have never encountered any issues with the service performed. Most times, my Service Advisor is Jeff Stevens. This week, I purchased new tires from them. Their price was very competitive with "Tire Only" stores. Al work was performed in a timely manor, including a 4-wheel alignment, and I left very happy. I went here as it's closer to my house. I went on a Saturday morning and it took a while to get in as I was there when the door opened. Tom said he would call me when the truck was ready. I had a normal oil change and check up. At 3pm, hadn't heard anything so I called and left message. Had to call back at 4pm. Tom called right before closing and said they were done but needed to order a front headlight that would be in Tuesday. I asked Tom to leave the invoice and my keys in the truck and I would get there before the gates closed. When I arrived, no keys or invoice. I called back and Tom said I could just pick the keys and invoice up when I came in for the head light. Never heard anything back and still haven't. I finally dropped by and picked my keys up. No follow up. I won't be going back. read more

If you want to save yourself time and headache, avoid this Ford dealership at all costs. I purchased a Ford, rebuilt 7.3 powerstroke diesel motor from them because they assured me it was the most reliable option to get my truck in good working order. My truck is a work truck and it's how I make a living. The new motor developed an oil leak within the first 5,000 miles put on the motor. I brought it to the service department, and it took them 3 weeks to replace one gasket and get the truck back to me- telling me that it was all good to go. The first day after getting my truck back, I put a clean piece of cardboard underneath the motor to see if they fixed the issue. I came outside the next morning, and there was fresh oil drops all over the cardboard. I called the dealership and they told me to bring the truck back in; they have had my truck for over a month now. They told me it has multiple oil leaks now. Very rarely do they ever answer the phone and they never call me (the customer) to provide updates. I asked if they had a courtesy vehicle to use and they told me no. So basically, I have been without my work truck for a total of 8 weeks. All because I trusted them when they told me a Ford rebuilt motor was the most reliable option and that it comes with a 3 year warranty. 9 out of 10 times, when I do get to talk to someone, they give me an excuse saying: "the diesel tech had a doctors appointment", or "he called in sick", "you're next in line", "we had to order additional parts", "we're short staffed"; all of this is extremely infuriating because I either have to spend even more money renting a car or borrowing vehicles from co-workers to tow trailers so I can try to continue to make money. I will NEVER own another Ford. read more

I am a long time fleet customer of Billy Howell Ford, we have numerous vehicles we have serviced here and have purchased several vehicles here as well. When having my most recent service completed yesterday I received my vehicle back after paying for the service. Upon entering my vehicle I noticed that oil was on the front drivers fender, on my seat cover inside the vehicle, front grill and on the hood. There was also coolant stains on the front grill. You would think that one would use a fender cover when working on a vehicle and they would also use a seat cover to protect a customers investment. This is not the first instance this has occurred, the last oil change I had the same thing happened and I brought it to my service writers attention and he indicated they would clean up the truck to bring it back, I indicated it wasn't convenient for me to bring back the next day and he could take care of on next service. Well that didn't happen, and of course the same problem occurred as last time. It is quite obvious that Billy Howell doesn't care about the condition that they leave their customers vehicles in. read more

My wife just got home with her new Ford Escape. I am sure it is a fine vehicle. My wife was by herself when purchasing it. I looked at the photos and it looked like the vehicle had hub caps. I don't buy vehicles with hub caps. I prefer alloy wheels. I inquired about this through my wife on the phone and the salesperson said it did not have hub caps. I heard him myself as she had her phone on speaker. The vehicle does have hub caps and I am angry. Randy Mankovich is the sales rep. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! I took my car for a gas pump problem..I picked up the car after paying $1,200.00 few minutes later the car started acting up, pull over called the dealer and Madison told me to bring the car back ( I did) had to take Uber back home because she said they din't have time to check the car at that moment. 2 days pass - received a message from Madison, saying that the car had a different problem need to order new parts I say ok.. I picked up the car after paying $800.00 more - drove the car few moments later THE SAME SITUATION!!!!!!!.. At this point I asked to spoke with the Manger a guy name Glen talked to me and assure me that the problem was going to be resolve. Received a message from Madison saying car has a totally different problem that the one before, that a new parts has to be order again!!!!! I say no way!!!! how is possible that been a dealer they had not identify the problem of the car!!!! After several attempts and promises I found out what Billy Howell is really all about. They lied and failed to follow thru on promises. I would not suggest anyone do business with this company and I will continue to tell our story of how Billy Howell ripped me off and not fixing my car. read more

For starters I drove 45 miles to see a truck with navigation and a back up camera. The truck had neither, but they thought if fit to falsely advertise such, and offer me 500 off. Which would not be enough to have the work completed. Then they had the nerve to offer me 7k dollars less than kbb on my 2014 Camry. I would suggest really passing this dealership on by. read more
