I've been coming to this shop for several months for oil changes and had always trusted them--until now. On my most recent visit, I asked if they could help replace the battery in my Volvo key fob, which wasn't working. I handed it directly to the person at the front desk. It wasn't damaged--just likely had a dead battery. But when they returned it to me, not only was the battery still dead, but the entire key fob was broken. I later had it inspected at a Volvo dealership, and they confirmed the internal components were cracked and beyond repair. The replacement cost? $850. I emailed the shop to explain everything and got no response at all. When I followed up by phone, I was told, "Well, we tried to help you," instead of taking any responsibility. No apology. No accountability. And frankly, no care. As someone who had been a repeat customer, I expected better. If your vehicle has a specialized or sensitive key fob--especially a Volvo--I highly suggest you go somewhere else. They clearly weren't qualified to handle it, and now I'm left with an expensive problem and zero support. read more

Called 30 min out to see if my truck would be ready on the 20th. Got the text notification they were working on it around 2:24PM. Called at 2:28 and was put on hold for 25 min. When they picked up again at 2:57 I was told the mechanic is under the car now and then needs to test drive. Pulled into the lot at 2:58 and see my truck parked across the street in the Kroger parking lot. Got some blank faces giving each looks when i walked in. They could see my parked truck while they were having this conversation on the phone. Not sure what is going on here but if your going to charge $300 an hr labor which is one of the highest in the area, this is not what I would call matching customer service. I work 3rd shift and just want to go home. If the truck was done then say so. I tried them 3 years ago and had a dispute over what their warranty was on a transmission. Watched their service manager move their pamphlet over that said all transmissions have a 3 year 30,000 mile warranty and told me that didn't count on a GM remanufactured one from the dealer and I was only getting 1 yr 10,000 miles. Gave them a second chance but didn't see this one coming. I know the owner reads these so If i'm wrong I'll delete this review. But telling me a mechanic finished up, test drove, and park the truck in under two minutes is gonna take some convincing. Oh also was quoted $960 for replacement of an oil sensor. Dealership told me $730. I've never had to get an independant shop to match dealership quote before. More available openings is the only reason Ryan automotive gets an extra star. read more

Awesome! I took my Honda Accord to Team Ryan when my check engine light came on a couple of months ago. I previously brought it to another auto repair shop two months earlier and they informed me as it was the evaporator charcoal canister. They were unable to obtain that part and never repaired it. They just cleared the code. The Check Engine light came on again so I brought to Team Ryan.They ran the diagnostic tests and called me with the results. They mentioned code was for Evaporator Emissions and diagnosed as the solenoid. They repaired it. Team Ryan is transparent and their customer service is excellent. I highly recommend them. read more

In this time i've spoken to a number of people and have only found 1 that was even so-so on a recommendation. They should have at least one person showing a little concern about walk-ins, especially someone struggling so to get inside. I DON'T RECOMMENDAND WOULD SUGGEST YOU NOT PATRONAGE THEM. read more

Team Ryan Automotive basically stole 3k for work not fully completed. We took our 2021 Mustang GT with only 31k miles for a clutch repair. Team Ryan agreed the clutch needed to be replaced. Took them basically a month and a lot of back and forth to get all the air out of the lines and then the clutch let out high (up top). We stated our concern that the repair was not correct, they said it's functioning correctly, but it's not!!! They said they would look into options, and now never returning calls. We were left with no option other than to have someone else fix their botch up or trade! We 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS SHOP! I would give ZERO stars if I could! read more

same issue as Brian G. shameful price to diagnose a problem. these men are on a team; but it's not YOUR team. Not only that but they didn't inform me till the end of day. I had agreed that it was ok to look at the car by the end of the day. They didn't mention any diagnose fee until end of day: totally wasting an entire day. I've had 3 days off this week. Days off are hard to come by in my world. I wasted an entire day off with these people. I wish I could get my day off back. read more

My check engine light had come on, just before I needed to get my emissions checked for tag renewal. (of course!) I bought a new gas cap, went to Ryan Automotive for an emissions test, and of course, it failed because of the check engine light. They wanted to run a $189 (OR MORE) diagnostic test to see what the problem was. I took my Jeep to my regular mechanic in Dawsonville, and he said it shouldn't have even been tested because the check engine light was on. He noted that I had a brand new gas cap, so he reset the dashboard light and that fixed the problem completely; less than 5 minutes, and he did it for free. I would rather pay someone else another $25 for an emissions test, than go back to Ryan Automotive for the free one. read more

Beware of false diagnostic costs!!!. In August I took my 2001 Dodge ram 2500 Cummins to diagnose a surging problem and they informed me there were no fault codes and wanted $500 to diagnose further. I declined: did a short internet search and found 3 fault codes pointing to an APPS issue - common issue with these vehicles. Fixed at a cost of ~$200 in parts (excl. labor). read more

I asked them to just make my truck run. I was charged $650 for them to reassemble my engine bay, diagnose issues, and adjust my timing. My timing was only half done (I was told it needed to be at operating temperature to be finished), apparently reassembling doesn't include the air intake or dip stick that were sitting in the cab, nothing was diagnosed, and after I was told the vehicle moved under its own power I was told they never attempted to move it and then found out it didn't. Also I was told over the phone I could "shoot the engine" and it would be fine, in person I was told not to run it for more than "a couple minutes" or else it would overheat. On top of this I was charged $36 for them to install a battery I brought, I watched the tech do it in about 1 minute. They over charge and under deliver. If you're looking for work to be done go elsewhere, but if you like being lied to and charged far too much then this is your place. read more

Not only did Team Ryan Automotive find out the problem, they answered all my questions to help me make a good decision about my vehicle. Really impressed by these guys. I took my sons car in for some work to be done and got a lot more in return. They checked over the entire car for any areas of concern and put those into a detailed report for me. I also received pictures with the defects that were found and ask if I wanted to do any of the noted defect items. We didn't do any, the cars old and not really worth much. We will sell the car and buy something a little newer and hopefully more dependable. I ask for an oil change and did get that but felt guilty a little that they guys there did such an impressive inspection and report with pictures that I was getting out on only an oil change tab. Team Ryan was very courteous, timely and appreciated that we chose them. I will be back for service with my newer but used car going forward. I loved the honesty and all the time they took to help me out. Fantastic service and such a refreshing service attitude from their entire crew. Great guys and a great company to have any service or repairs done at. Being honest these days is a rare bird it seems with companies.
