I've only been there once without a wait time, and in my experience the wait is 20-30ish minutes. As far as accessibility goes, its not great. Staying in Massanutten, we decided yesterday evening to drive into Harrisonburg for dinner. We were actually intending to go to Clementine, but it was closed (on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - whoever heard of that?) so we wandered a little further down the street and came across Billy Jack's and thought we'd try it. Great decision! Our waitress, Emily, was superb, knowledgeable about the beers on tap and helpfully offering samples of a couple of them. She took our orders, which included a few deviations from the menu, without writing anything down. We then had a fairly lengthy conversation with her about something totally different, and she went on her way. I remarked to my wife that she must have a good memory to do that (and half expected there to be a mistake or two when the food came out. There wasn't). The food was ready fairly quickly (not that we were in any hurry - on vacation). It looked good, but the fries were not piping hot. No big deal for me, but my wife is a stickler for that, so we mentioned it to Emily and she quickly and happily brought two boxes of fresh-out-of-the-fryer fries. My wife had the Rex Kwan Do burger and I opted for the Bed Head. Both were delicious and the fries were good (and very hot). I had a glass of each of the beers I had tasted - I'm afraid I can't remember the names - but they were both good and not too hoppy. I had told Emily that I don't care for overly hoppy beer and she steered me in the right direction. I fancied a dessert afterwards. Upon looking at the menu, I was disappointed to see that they offer only doughnuts for dessert. Oh well, guess I'll try one. I went for the Barb's Desk Drawer (many items on the menu have very odd names). It has vanilla icing and mini M&Ms on it and was absolutely incredible. They do not need to offer any other desserts than doughnuts! Your ideal small town college bar. Billy Jack's has a lot of character and is one of the best places to be downtown on any night of the week. Their food has just as much character as the interior decor. While you can get slider burgers, their sticky nuggets are what they are known for. The sticky sweet chili is the most popular sauce, and on Thursday nights only costs $3! The loaded fries are also great! Who doesn't love huge chunks of bacon with their fried food?! My favorite dessert is the psycho Girl Scout donut. The donut is a small cake donut, topped with peanut butter, chocolate bits, and marshmallow that has been charred. It's crazy delish! Their brunch is also pretty great, but also crowded, so you'll need to get their early, unless you don't mind waiting. Brunch is only on Sunday's. The most popular item on the menu is the chicken and waffles. A lot of people go here for the beer. I do wish they offered the other flavors to be $3 as well because the garlic parmesan and herb is my favorite. What a great find in this place! It's a little dive tucked in nicely is downtown Harrisonburg. I had a mushroom swiss burger cooked to perfection and Dad had the fish and chips, equally well prepared. It has a cozy atmosphere and the staff was laid back, but professional.
