This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant. The large menu selection, beautifully decorated interior, and the fresh material, good chef skills, attentive service earned the 5 stars fair and square. We visited them twice in a week, thus proved the points. Among the many dishes we ordered, in the gold class roll, spicy Hamachi roll was my top favorite. It is only a little bit spicy so don't be fool. The flavor, the texture was good. Mini chirashi from the lunch menu also very nice- big pieces of sashimi, beautifully presented, seasoned sushi rice at the bottom, such a wonderful bowl. For yakitori, the chicken gizzars was my top favorite. Chicken thigh and pork belly were also quite good. We had a short ribs signature men. It was a good dish if you are craving for noodle. The ginger dressing salad, miso soup were tasty. On the top of the bar, there are many Lego houses and Labubu dolls decorations. My personal favorite is "the club" on the check-in station. This is such a fun place to visit and dine. Good food and vibe ,and they have kids' menu.

The sushi here was really fresh. I placed a large order for pick up and the food was ready on time. When I walked in on a Friday around 6 this place was at full capacity. The ceilings were high, lighting was bright and I loved the mural art on the wall. I ordered 2 of the Feast for Four, Philly Wonton Bites and 1 sushi sashimi set. This was plenty for a party of 6. We loved how fresh the fish was. Some of our favorite rolls include the Over the World, Siesta, Black Dragon and the Unagi roll. The prices were reasonable and I loved the variety of fish options. The carry out bags were neatly sealed and they even have branded wet wipes. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other sashimi options.

Overall all went well. Greeted and sat quickly as well as in a friendly manner. Restaurant was clean. Server was good as 2 that appeared to be supervisors came over to make sure all was good. Ordered a few featured Martinis of which the Shiso Moon was tasty. Started with 2 Avocado Couture appetizers which were good, but seemed more like a salad with some Avocado with some mango. Then ordered the Feast for 4 which included 2 Special Rolls and 2 Basic Rolls, plus we added one fried roll. All sushi was tasty and fresh tasting. Ambiance including the music was good.

Bincho Tan provides an amazing Japanese cuisine addition to the north Tampa/Lutz. We would have not known that this restaurant existed if it was not for the menu pamphlet we received in our mail. Seeing that Bincho Tan offered charcoal-grilled style BBQ ("binchotan" is actually the type of charcoal) skewers from their menu, we decided to give it a go to satisfy our curiosity. What we found in Bincho Tan exceeded our expectations. Located off Van Dyke Road in the Northgate Square Plaza of the Cheval sub-division, Bincho Tan sits quietly next to the Publix supermarket. Naturally it shares the parking lot with the rest of the businesses in the plaza, but the lot is large enough where parking is not an issue. As you enter the restaurant, you find yourself immersed in a modern interior that provides an eclectic mixture of styles - with barnyard rustic aesthetic in the seating, paired with Japanese art motif along the walls, and brass-colored fixtures. Along the bar and counter-seating, there's a collection of Lego/assorted Brick builds that hang above while large-size Labubus and other Asian collectibles give a playful ring to the restaurant. This is a long overdue review, as we visited the restaurant in January. When we came, we were greeted by a welcoming staff and seated prompted at a booth. Our server was extremely pleasant and cordial - a delight to interact with as he introduced the menu and specials while taking down our requests and orders. The restaurant is quite spacious offering a variety of booth, bench, table, and counter-top seating (great for varying party sizes). The menu offered a great variety of selections from sushi/sashimi and rolls to more hefty meals, all of course in addition to the BBQ skewers. The originality of plates and dishes available is a great quality of Bincho Tan. It was almost overwhelming, but we made our selections and saved some in our mental storage for a future visit. Most, if not all, the food was on point - we ordered one of each of the skewers, being extremely happy with the grilled shishito peppers. We ordered one of the specials that day - a prepared uni (sea urchin) roll that was pretty good. Overall, Bincho Tan offered a great experience and dinner meal for us. We would definitely come back here again to explore the other offerings and selections! We definitely recommend this restaurant to all locals!

I hate to be the first to not give a 5 star review but didn't really enjoy the food. Our service was great and the restaurant is cute inside. The a/c wasn't working well and it was warm inside. We got lunch specials (two rolls & soup or salad). The salad was completely covered with a thousand-island-like dressing--disappointing for us because we were expected ginger dressing. And the raw sushi rolls were warm/room temp which seemed odd (maybe the rice was hot?). The sushi wasn't rolled tight either and were falling apart. The Mexican was the best I'd say but the eel tasted too fishy. I'd give them another try because I you can tell this local restaurant is trying to provide a good experience.

The cutest hole in the wall sushi spot! From the anime cat mural to the hanging plants to the warehouse style ceilings to the lego town hanging over the sushi bar, this place is fun and original. Snappy and attentive service top! Sushi is great. We had the tuna tartar which was excellent with delicious sauce, avocado, green onions and salmon roe. It was great although the corn chips served with it were an enigma. Sushi is amazing, fresh, delicious and the rolls are enormous - at least 1.5x as big as most other places. Our new favorite sushi spot. Extra points for being next door to the UPS store so you can do your Amazon returns on the same trip!

This is a hidden gem in the Lutz area. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with fun, unique decor that creates an elevated yet casual dining experience. The food was phenomenal. Each roll had its own distinct flavor profile, making every bite feel like a new experience. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and each roll was perfectly balanced in flavor. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their flavorful, well-balanced, and robust rolls.

Came from St Pete for Christmas meal with my family and absolutely couldn't have picked a better place! The restaurant is gorgeous inside with custom murals, hanging fish lights and beautiful bar/suhi area. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. We ordered a sample of many items as everything on menu looked so good the best part was it all tasted amazing too! The spicy edamame sauce was so flavorful! The Christmas roll specials were so well put together and the rice in the sushi was the perfect texture. I am already planning on coming back with a group of friends!

BBQ eel skewer, pork belly skewer, complimentary side dishes of kimchi and seaweed salad, hot sake. All delicious.

I went for the soft opening on Christmas Day here. The first bite of the pork belly skewer seriously made my eyes roll back into my head. Unbelievably good Bincho-tan barbecue at a very reasonable price. I cannot wait to come back! Service was perfect. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. This is, hands down, in my humble opinion, THE best restaurant for Japanese barbecue in the Tampa Bay area. You need to try this place.

I came back to this gem once again, and nothing has changed! The food is still good as ever, with the chicken karage being a great start to the meal. I personally had the volcano roll and it was delicious!!! The service was great with our waiter being never far away and happy to answer questions we had. My favorite decor piece, the fish lights, were still awesome. 10/10 Bincho for life

If you're looking for the American hibachi experience, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is the way to go. I…read morewill jump around a bit with this review as I am returning to writing, but hope that it makes sense as you read it. The restaurant is located conveniently within the Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area in northern Tampa. The parking spaces in the front does get crowded and full rather quick, however there are plenty of spaces in the back that isn't too far of a walk. The entrance/main door is actually off to the side under the hard structure roofing - you walk through a small section of the outdoor seating patio to get to it. It must be noted that this review and experience is based on the following factors: - The review is written strictly for the American hibachi experience. The restaurant does offer other a la carte options if you don't want the "showmanship" and flair with your dining experience. - A reservation was made through Open Table. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. This was purposeful and intentional due to the occasion, and I wanted to make sure we were locked in. I feel that this also made for a smoother seating process as the restaurant had to prepare the table and chef. All in all from arrival to getting seated, we waited no more than 10 minutes after our entire party was present. - There were 12 individuals in our party which also accounted for the prompt seating (I believe you are paired and tetris'd with other guests for smaller parties). 12 is the max that a table can host - anything more will require multiple tables. I want to emphasize at this point how Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is suited for large parties. Most, if not all, the individuals in our party have not had American hibachi for as long as we can remember. We also had children in our party. Taking this all into account, it turned out to be the perfect venue for any type celebratory events (business outings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.) I could not recommend this place enough if you want an "easy winner" to delight the group. Now let's talk about the food and the chef. The quality and taste definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was cooked perfectly and the meats were extremely tender and flavorful. While not the most animated of the chefs there, our particular chef was very attentive to our needs. He ensured that our meal was enjoyable and delicious. Pricing-wise, you're looking at an average cost of $30 to $40 per individual. Overall service was not bad - the most important part was that everyone was welcoming and friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend Kobe Japanese Steakhouse if you are the one planning for a large group!

It is probably one of the best chefs we've ever had for hibachi. He has different tricks and songs and it made it even more enjoyable. I drove all…read morethe way from downtown St Pete on a IG recommendation (that's how little good options you have in this area unfortunately) and I was not disappointed. The staff and owner were very friendly and personable and the food was even better! I ordered the gyoza (this is fried and the filling is an in-house recipe pork filling, might be different from your regular gyoza but still yummy and worth trying), and had the Nigiri Flight which was amazing! I'll let the picture speak for itself, but you need to come in and try it for yourself. The fish was fresh and each one was better than the other. I even loved the tamago (which they prepare in house) and I normally am not a fan of it. All the nigiri were well sized and super filling, I could have done without the dumplings and the salad, and still would have been more than satisfied. The place is also very well decorated and styled, I truly think they hit all the points with food, service, and ambience. You can tell the owner puts his heart and soul into this place and it shows in the food and your time there. It was a very pleasant experience and I am so happy to have found Isekai!

I was excited by the great reviews on Yelp -- and was so happy that this place lived up to the hype! The fish was excellent -- fresh, well cut, super tasty. The toro was rich and delicious, the salmon and snapper fresh and pure, and as noted by others, the seasoned sushi rice with the accoutrements in the bowl (seaweed salad, thinly sliced pickled radish and carrot, and masago) made for an elevated lunch. I really appreciated the flexibility and options around my celiac disease (sushi can be tough because of the wheat in most soy sauce) -- including the kind note they attached saying the subbed some extra toro and masago for the Iburi which had been marinated in soy sauce. Lastly, I usually much prefer to eat-in for sushi (a sushi bar is my 2nd home), but really appreciate the details they put into the Uber Eats takeout package -- dressed it nice with shiso leaf and shaved radish AND have it all placed on little ice packs to keep the fish cold on their commute from the Chef's Knife to my belly. Great experience overall.
