I absolutely love Bingsu, and I cannot believe I haven't tried this place sooner. This establishment has a great assortment of flavors and I decided to get one of my favorites. The staff were super friendly and made sure my Bingsu was packed with ingredients. It was so so good! There's plenty of seating indoors too. Would recommend visiting the next time you're in the area!

Coming back from Hawaii, I was craving shaved ice. This was the closest thing to it! Pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I always pass by but never stopped to try. This time it was hot out and perfect for the weather. Ordered a large mango and strawberry bingsu recommended by the girl in the front. It was a bit pricey for what it is but once in a while, treat yourself! It's a small shop with a handful of tables indoors but plenty of outdoor mall seatings in the center that's usually available. It's located in the second floor outdoors of The Shops at Santa Anita and there's plenty parking.

Decent place to grab some dessert while you're at the mall. Got a lot of sweet treats here to share with friends are we filled up on some Ramen Nagi on a weekday late afternoon. There were a couple other customers other than us so we had to take our food to the outside tables afterwards since there were a lot of us there, but service was friendly and efficient for the amount of things that we ordered. They play some K-pop in there and its a cute bright yellow store. Perfect for bringing up anyone's mood. They also have chips and various other bottled and canned drinks available too. We got the: 1) Vanilla soft serve: -1 friend wanted chocolate sauce and Oreo cookies and the other wanted it plain. Generous portion and nice and milky though does melt quickly. Standard. 2) Strawberry Milk: -Milk mixed with fresh strawberries. Light strawberry taste from the milk and slightly tart taste from the strawberries. Not bad. 3) Signature Bingsu Bingsu: -This is around $15. A bit steep but it's mall food and it's enough to share with several people, though it does get a bit sloppy after everything melts. -Toppings include strawberries, melon, mochi, mango, red bean jelly (pretty unique), and sweet mille feuille bits in it. Nice mix of texture and tastes. Had to leave the almonds out of it due to allergies, but no worries. Not bad, but I've had better bingsu elsewhere, though it might be because we chose the one with way too many toppings and tastes to it. I might swing by one day to try the other flavor and taste profile focused bingsu here.

"You're so observant," she said. And it made me smile. Not because I am (of course I am!), but because she noticed. When someone observes you being observant, it makes you feel recognized. It's interesting that these reviews are just ways of telling places that we have noticed them. That they have made enough of an impact on us -- whether good or bad-- that we decided to translate our feelings into words of recognition. The delicious art created here is definitely memorable. You can't help but notice the vibrant colors and flavors that emanate from within its walls. Sometimes all someone (or someplace) needs is for someone to notice them. And recognizing this is what differentiates those who are self aware from those who are not.

My partner and I couldn't decide. She wanted strawberry, and I wanted mango. We got both and shaved ice in one bowl, and we enjoyed it! There is a container on the side where you can take extra condensed milk if you want, too. The order came out timely, and the restaurant was clean. This restaurant is really good for desserts!

Bingsu Bingsu is located in the outdoor section of the Santa Anita Mall. The space is bright and clean with some seating inside. We ordered the traditional red bean bingsu, which came with strawberries, mangos, canned mandarin oranges, red bean, plain mochi, and brown sugar drizzle. Decent bingsu but I could do without the mandarin oranges.

Located in the outlet of Arcadia mall, this place offers a huge variety of taiyaki to choose from. The place is spacious, with lots of seating. We visited for 4 different flavors of taiyaki: Custard, Jalapeno Cheese, Corn Cheese, and Meatball Cheese (no bingsu, oops). Service is quite fast, taking just a few mintues. Custard: Your standard taiyaki flavor, sweet and creamy. Jalapeno Cheese: Cheese with jalapeno cut into rounds. It's quite exactly how I would expect jalapeno cheese to taste like. I thought it would have jalapeno powder, so the jalapeno cuts took me by surprise. Regardless, I think it's a unique take on taiyaki that works quite well. Meatball Cheese: The meatball was really good. It's rich in flavor, and cheese adds another depth to it. Corn Cheese: Cheese was overpowering the corn flavor, and it's a combo that I would expect to taste better than it sounds. It's a little bit of a let down. All in all, I think the place's takes on flavor variety is unique, and there's some good choices to choose from. There are a lot of cheese options, but I think their cheese flavor is lacking.

Injeolmi and Strawberry Bingsu (size small)

Super refreshing! I was worried that this bingsoo wouldn't have much flavor but the way they layer the toppings was perfect. I also LOVE that they have a small/personal size available. I got the injeolmi but I was also able to try the mango and strawberry and all three were equally delicious. Service was quick on a Saturday afternoon and the store hascute interior decor. Price is average/decent for the size. Highly recommend for a light but satisfying dessert.

I LIKED THE MATCHA SHAVED SNOW ============================== I decided to try one while walking around the Westfield Santa Anita mall. It was a warm day, so I just took a break and sat inside. It's very clean and the possible owners were very nice. It seems like they have many things on the menu. I may try the mango flavor the next time.

This snow ice shop is located on the outside upper level in the formerly Westfield Mall, now The Shops at Santa Anita. It is one of the few places left that still sells actual snow ice and not shaved ice or "knock off" snow ice. They are a little pricy for the quantity, but the quality is very good. The servers are polite. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. Seating is somewhat limited and they can get full. They also have a few other items such as taiyaki and soft serve ice cream. The mall has a large shared lot, but it does get full, especially at peak hours such as after work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. However, if you are willing to park further, you can almost always get a spot and relatively quickly. Overall, we would come here again and especially if you like snow ice better than shaved ice like we do. We recommend you give them a try.

Bingsu Bingsu is located at the promenade at The Shops of Santa Anita (the outside section of the mall). It's pretty roomy and offers a variety of treats and flavor. We came for the Korean shaved ice dessert. It comes in small, medium, large. We got the large and it easily feeds 3-4 people. It's basically frozen shaved milk with toppings. We opted for the mango so ours was filled with chunks of mango and condensed milk. Clean place with prompt service.

    Susanna C.

We had the traditional red bean bingsu and the Injeolmi bingsu. Perfect amount of sweetness complemented by the toppings. They will also provide small bowls for sharing - three people shared the large bingsu.

Matcha brown sugar red bean bingsu
    Selene S.

Got the matcha brown sugar red bean bingsu. The large size is a good portion to share between two people. For some reason, underneath the matcha, there was strawberry syrup. It still tasted good but not sure if that was just a mistake cause this item shouldn't have strawberry in it. You can do dine-in or takeout. The AC was a little weak inside though so you've been warned. Staff was alright and there was like a 10 min wait for the bingsu. We picked it up from the counter.

I'd caution my readers to level set their expectations for everything else, and also take note of just how many people have Omurice on their tables, if you don't have at least that, you're doing it wrong. Despite the growing crowd, the person who helped us was very friendly and encouraged us to try all the flavors if we wanted to. While we tried each flavor, she described each of its components in great detail - something I truly appreciated!! Everything was delicious but I personally ended up getting the Mango Sago and Vietnamese Coffee (probably would not mix the two next time lol but delicious individually). The mango sago tasted like fresh mangoes and reminded me of a rich high quality mango sorbet. SO. Good. The perfect summer treat! Vietnamese coffee tasted exactly like how the drink would taste, which I was honestly surprised about since coffee ice creams are flavored a bit sweeter than the actual drink. It was perfect for me but may not be everyone's cup of tea because it does have bitterness :) The ambiance in there is amazing - details in every cranny and nook of the space. It's retro and very chill / relaxing! There are a very limited amount of tables but I did see stacks of plastic stools for people to sit on outside. Softer than boba, soft like jello, yet has that chewy, gooey texture. Not my favorite texture, but glad I tried it. I just saw that they had black sesame flavor too, but I was in such a rush, I must have missed it on the menu. Comes with a little bottle of brown sugar syrup, which is rich in brown sugar flavor and quite sweet too. When poured over the warabimochi, it does only taste like the brown sugar syrup. I would recommend that you eat the warabimochi with ice cream. I didn't order any at the store, but ate the ice cream I had at home. Choice of ice cream was Straus Family Creamery's Vanilla Bean. It didn't overpower the warabimochi flavors of the matcha or kinako, it simply added more creaminess and additional texture to the dessert. Also, you can get a firmer texture when you put the warabimochi in the fridge overnight, which I thought was much better and enjoyable to eat. HOJICHA CLOUD Very good hojicha flavor. But mostly it is cream. Hence, the name Cloud. I got it 100% sweetness and I asked for warabimochi pieces added to the drink. They give you a boba straw to drink. Warabimochi was very soft, light chewiness, cut into smaller pieces. The drink was very slightly on the sweeter side, but it's that or 50% sweetness level. There was a lot of ice in it, which means there's less hojicha drink too. Got it in medium size. Small size and medium size cost difference is 0.75 cents. Best to get a medium size. There's also a large size, which is much bigger in comparison to the medium. STRAWBERRY MATCHA CLOUD This had a good matcha and strawberry flavor all around. They also added warabimochi in this drink too. The matcha is a cream top and the rest is strawberries with milk. It tasted good and not overly sweet. This was 100% sweetness. Personally wished there wasn't any warabimochi in it, but it automatically comes with the drink. Did not realize there would be any in it too until after I ordered it. I would reorder the drinks. Maybe order one without warabimochi though. I would try their other drink offerings too. I haven't tried their black sesame warabimochi, so might return to try that one. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly customer service. Only two people working. Warabimochi came out first, then the drinks. Everything came out in order and quickly. LOCATION Located at Santa Anita Mall. We bought an elote, tortuga and can't recall the third piece of pan, and alfajores. The elote was delicious, I love that you can see little specs of cinnamon, soft and tender and vanilla scent. The tortuga was a bit more spongy, fragrant, and nice balanced of sweetness. The alfajores were buttery, crisp and smeared with dulce de leche. I needed a bday cake and decided to order the strawberry shortcake, because it looked so pretty. The cake was a hit with the family. The frosting was super light, the filling is one layer of custard and the other of light whipped cream and berries. The sponge is moist, the cake is not sweet, but decadent in its creamy texture. The inside of the store is aesthetically appealing, traditional glass cases showcase the pan. I'm so glad to have a nearby bakery and cake shop!

While I am very…read morehappy about this (I love Cafe de Olla in Monrovia), getting coffee and a pastry post-workout might very well become my routine if I don't exercise enough self-control! Like some of the reviews already mentioned, this location is more of a "grab and go" type of place. They have a solid selection of cakes, pastries, and drinks. If you are looking for their full breakfast menu, the Monrovia location down the street is where you would want to go! When I visited, they were celebrating their 1-year anniversary with an outside table of samplers. They had a balloon arch outside to signal to the community that they are celebrating something special as well. The lady out front shared with me what they had to offer, and she also mentioned that they do catering! I like my coffee strong but also on the sweet side. When I asked for the stronger option, I was recommended to get the cappucino rather than the latte and they can make the caffeine a little bit more concentrated without sacrificing the flavor. The cookies were a little dry for my taste but maybe it was because the samplers were sitting outside for a little too long. I would go back just to try the breakfast sandwich, but the experience of grabbing food was pretty fast and the food was flavorful enough! Excited to have a closer Cafe de Olla to me and wishing them so much success!
