I really liked the bingsu but I expected more for the price that I paid, I believe i paid around $7.50-$7.75 but it came in a small cup. The fruit was very sweet and it was very refreshing to eat on a hot day but my friend said it mainly just tasted like ice for him. The workers were nice and it came out quickly. The shop overall isn't the biggest but they do offer seating inside. There's a lot of natural lighting inside and a mirror if you want to take pictures. read more

I've seen this newest Korean dessert spot popping on weekends and never had the opportunity to try it because I never had the patience to try it with the crowds but I finally tried on a Thursday night. Upon walking in, both the owners (husband and wife) were very warm and welcoming and introduced what they had to offer since it was my first time and shared what was very popular with other guests. They suggested for the bingsu, the strawberry mango was the most popular one and that's what I chose, even on a cold night. In addition, my friend and I got some taiyaki (Mozza Cheese, Nutella, Custard) and shared a Matcha + Red Bean Vanilla Soft Serve; don't judge us if the two of us actually finished all of this. Strawberry Bingsu: The fruits were decadent and sweet all around! The amount of fruit they provided even on a regular sized bowl were more than I imagined. You honestly could have 4 people eat a regular sized bowl and this was honestly my favorite of the night. It pairs well with the mochi and almonds they gave on the side. We drizzled only a little bit of condensed milk since both the mango and strawberry were sweet already. The "snow" was soft and fluffy so it's definitely worth eating on a hot or cold day. Taiyaki: My favorite ones were Nutella and the Mozza Cheese. If you're looking for the cheese pull and want to the a video of it, you'll need to order the Mozza Cheese taiyaki because it has a strong cheese pull. The custard one was alright but I may be biased since I'm not a custard fan in general but my friend likes custard. Nutella was really good and I mean what's not to like about anything Nutella?! Vanilla Soft Serve: This had an interesting texture to it and it's unlike any other soft serve I've tasted. It's not a bad taste either but to me it seems like it has a mochi flavor taste instead of a vanilla taste. It's very smooth and buttery and goes well with the matcha and red bean. I just wished it had more red bean since I'm a big fan of red bean. Overall, I think this lives up to a Korean dessert shop and I'm happy I don't have to drive to K-Town if I'm ever craving Korean desserts anymore. This place is located on the outside food strip portion of the Santa Anita mall. I would say almost opposite of the food court because I felt like I was walking for forever to find this place... but the mall is just so big! My family and I came in on a Saturday at night and we enjoyed the bingsoo and ice cream items we all ordered. The girl in the front and other staff were very nice and patient with my big family. All these new dessert places popping up in Temple City and Arcadia! This new Korean dessert shop is located in Westfield Santa Anita in the Promenade, taking over where Holy Roly Ice Cream used to be. It's right next to Luxy, brightly lit with bright yellow signage. The storefront itself isn't too big - there's probably about 10 tables inside (bar seating and tables) - mostly for parties of two. We decided to take our chances and come on a weekend evening; even though there was quite a crowd, we didn't have to wait too long for our order. I would say we waited maybe about 15 to 20 minutes - we were able to snag a table with chairs, but some people had to stand at tables or eat outside. They currently offer a variety of bingsu flavors with prices ranging from $11-15. There's also taiyaki, soft serve, fresh fruit milk, and drinks. We went with the mango and strawberry bingsu ($12) as well as two taiyaki (2 for $5). I haven't had bingsu or shaved snow in quite awhile, so it was definitely refreshing and a little nostalgic to eat this dessert! I honestly thought the snow itself was already sweetened, but they also offer sides of condensed milk that you can squeeze into your bowl to adjust the overall sweetness to your liking. Both fruits were tasty, but I preferred the mango, just because the juice the mango was soaked in was sweeter and added to the snow a bit more than the strawberries, which were a bit on the tart side. They also provide a cup of mochi and slice almond on the side, which I thought was nice. We didn't realize we could take the sides of condensed milk until we were more than halfway through, so my sister went ham and loaded a ton of condensed milk into the remainder of the snow, making it way too sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this dessert. Definitely a refreshing dessert, especially on a hot day. For the taiyakis, we were able to order different flavors, so my sister went with chocolate and custard. Overall, the texture of the taiyaki was one of the best that I've tried - crispy and chewy with a mochi-like center; but there was barely ANY custard batter in our custard taikayi. We started at the head of the "fish" and we didn't get any custard until near the tail. Whereas the chocolate - which was really chocolate-y - had much more filling. They seem to roll out orders quickly, which is nice. People are usually in and out in about 30-45 minutes. They also have cute sprinkles for ice cream toppings, but not sure if they taste the best. tl;dr - new dessert shop that opened up in Westfield Santa Anita! Will be back to try the soft serve and other bingsu flavors, but definitely a nice dessert addition to the 626 area. read more

New dessert spot in the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. Free parking since it is the mall but I recommend parking in the lower levels of the structures so you don't have to circle around. I ordered the signature bingsu and shared with two people. It was the perfect amount for us. We loved the variety of the toppings! The topping to snow ratio was a little off but overall it was good. I especially loved the bottled of condensed milk available. The spout dispenses multiple thin strands of condensed milk so you can evenly spread it around your bingsu. We also ordered two custard taiyakis. The wait for those was pretty long but we were warned about the weight when we ordered. The custard was a bit too runny and too much vanilla for me but the outside of the taiyaki was perfectly crisp. I saw a lot of people ordering the soft serve so I will definitely come back to try those! read more

This shop at the mall took over the previous rolling ice cream shop.  Now there are taiyaki, bingsu shaved ice and drinks. My friend and I were actually quite full but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We were curious about the corn taiyaki and decided to give it a try.  They did gave us heads up that it will take a little longer since we ordered 5 mins before closing.  I do like the corn and the crunchy taiyaki, however I did not know they would put mayo with the corn filling. That part was a bit odd and also I'm not a fan of mayo at all. Next time I would stick to to the sweet fillings, note that these taiyaki are on the smaller side as well. Got the Small Mango Bingsu. That one was delicious. Would order again. Bf and I both got the custard filling Taiyaki. We both felt it was a bit too sweet. The batter was good, but the taste of the custard was less than satisfactory for us. So far, my top 3 places for Taiyakis are: Somi Somi (multiple locations), With Love in San Gabriel and Okrumong in Torrance. Bf got the Vanilla Soft Serve with Oreo Chocolate. It was good enough/decent. He enjoyed it more than I did. I'll stick to my bingsu. This is a good place for desserts if you are ever craving for any. There are a lot of options that I saw on the menu when I came here recently and it all looks pretty delicious. I tried the Mango Strawberry Bingsu and it was pretty good, although it was a little pricy for a small cup. An awesome location for some dessert located right in the Arcadia mall! Parking: tons of parking available both underground and outside. All free and just a walking distance away. Food: we ordered the regular size bingsu with strawberry and mango. It comes with a side of almonds and mochi as well. As a red bean lover, I tried the taiyaki. The delicate, labor intensive preparation of the dough and beans cooking in the mold was suspenseful. I was anticipating goodness but was disappointed with the doughy and slightly sour shell and small red bean filling that was not sweet. To maximize profit they must use little or no sugar. Not what I expected or wanted. Real red bean paste (Japanese) is very sweet. Did not try anything else but quality of taiyaki makes me suspect quality of other items. I ordred a small strawberry bingsu and it was VERY small. It was I think around 7 to 9 dollars and I felt it was worth more 5 or 6 dollars. There is free condensed milk and you can put as much as you want whenever. They use a lot of plastic with a small, the larges looked to be in a reusable bowl. My spoon was also plastic, so theres quite a bit of plastic waste. I wish they had reusable bowls for all sizes and bamboo spoons. If you order a drink however it comes in a glass container which was really nice and extremely cute. The bingsu wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The strawberries weren't that sweet maybe cause they're not in season. But I wish there were cheese cubes or strawberries inside of the bowl, it was only on top so I had to add condensed milk to the bottom to get more flavor. The ambiance was pretty good for a new opening place, however I wish the cashier was a bit friendlier. I had a few questions, but he didn't look too happy and asked for my order right away. He also didn't tell my friend about the condensed milk, but told me, so she didn't get to use it for half of her bingsu. Overall this place is not extraordinary.
