I've been to many places in New Jersey and New York for pho. I will definitely say I have not been to every place, but as Binh Duong is one of the top if not the top place I'd go around this area for a nice bowl of Pho on a rainy cold day... (or even a hot sunny day, it does not matter)! I cannot rave about how much I enjoy the pho here. My favorite ones are the beef pho which include the house special (a combination of rare, well-done, brisket, tendon and tripe), flank steak, and the beef bowl pho. As for other menu items, you cannot go wrong starting off with either the spring rolls, summer rolls, or fried calamari. If for some reason you are not feeling pho when you are there, I've had a number of their dishes over the years that I enjoy. My second favorite is the sauteed beef cubes with rice; simple yet satisfying. Other dishes that I have enjoyed include the grilled pork with vermicelli and spring rolls, the lemongrass chicken, and their variety of casseroles (either shrimp, salmon, or pork). In addition, if you are specifically not going there for pho, come during lunch time because they have many of the rice platters on lunch special, so they are cheaper. As for drinks, you cannot go wrong with the Thai iced tea! Over the years, the decor of this place improved, if you noticed over the years, they renovated the place, which allows for more tables and business. Take note that this place is closed on Tuesdays, I always hear about people trying to come here on that day. Best vietnamese food in NJ! Maybe the best I've ever had. I have been coming here with my friends for several years now and the food is always excellent. Definitely recommend getting the grilled pork. Any dish with grilled pork is fantastic. I usually stick with the classic pho though. The shrimp rolls are also to die for, and you can order "half" orders (we usually do this bc we come with an odd number of people and then no one has to share :P). The peanut sauce they come with is so good I could drink it. My only complaints are the long wait to be seated, understandable though. The service is a little slow, the food usually comes out quick but sometimes i feel totally ignored when I wanted to pay the check. read more

This used to be the best place for local pho. I don't know who the new owners now are, but this is the worse pho I've ever had. You're better off going to HMart and buying some instant pho. If you think that's sacrilege, then wait til you see what this place has done to their dishes. read more

Excellent Vietnamese food in the heart of Essex County, amazing. The food is authentic, delicious and really fresh. The Pho is really great. I've had the Pho with grilled pork chops (2), you can't beat the price either, $8.50 for a huge bowl of soup with a side dish of two thinly cut pork chops that are seasoned to perfection. All the dishes I've had here are fantastic, the Lemongrass Beef over vermicelli, the spring rolls, summer rolls, all amazing and price is really phenomenal. The restaurant is also packed with Vietnamese people, which is an excellent indicator of the authenticity and quality. There's a fantastic Chinese bakery across the way in the same shopping center, I suggest you check that out too, bring home some dessert after. My all time favorite place to get pho -- eat in and take out. The plain pho is my favorite option because it's very filling and only $10.

Been coming here since 2019 and to see the continuous growth of this establishment is wonderful. Two things that have always stayed consistent are the Food quality/quantity and the service. The food that they put out is very, very, good. Great actually. Viet cuisine is one of my favorites and Binh Duong gives me that ability to dive deeper into that with the loaded menu they have. Every single item I posted was fantastic and I have no complaints. Everything from the sauces on the table to the ingredients in our meals was fresh. Our waiters were very polite, the chefs in the back got the orders out efficiently and very quickly. The brisket in the pho was outstanding. Melted like butter and was very satisfying. The char on the pork chop was so good it would make you shake your head in disbelief. The shaken beef had a new flavor (for Me) but I enjoyed it. Who knew there was a legit pho place in north Jersey? I had intended to try out the filipino restaurant next door, but it didn't look too good, so I ended up going here. It's a very small spot. Line was out the door, but it was definitely worth the wait. Service was OK, rude at times, but the food was good enough that I don't care. Started with summer rolls and frog legs. The summer rolls were fresh, well made, and tasty, especially with the dipping sauce. Frog legs had too much batter. Skip these. My mother tried their squid in sate sauce, tried a bit. It was pretty good, but nowhere near as good as their pho. Their house combo pho is great. Very beefy broth, chunks of beef tendon, slices of rare beef, rice noodles, plus all the garnishes. There was a decent crowd here last night but a fair amount of seating though it looks small and plain on the outside since its part of a strip mall. The waiters/resses do well describing the dishes to you and accomodate what you ask, as I wanted my entree extra spicy. They could've been a bit more observant in keeping our waters full, but no biggie since its byob here. I had the Ga xao sa ste chicken with extra spice though I still had to use some of the pepper sauce at the table to turn it up more. The chicken slices were flavorful and onions and rice mixed in made it a nice filling meal so the portions are just about right. I had the thai iced tea to drink and it was ok it tasted alittle to creamy and milky, but not bad. The spring roll was average and the soup bowls are nicely portioned as well. Good Vietnamese food. Comforting and tastes authentic. I love their rare beef Pho. Vietnamese BBQ chops over broken rice. I love their homemade BBQ sauce which is nothing like typical American BBQ. It is tangy, vinegary, slightly sweet and delicious, It's good over plain rice or over the pork chop. Thai iced teas are always hit or miss for the most part. This place misses it, but, not surprised. Salt and Pepper prawns are so good. Spring rolls and summer rolls fresh. I would recommend: Pho Tai (#21 Rare beef pho), Pho Suon Heo Nuong (#25 Pho with grilled porkchop), Bun Cha Gio Thit (#42 egg noodles with fish sauce, grilled pork and spring roll) and finally Bong Cai Xanh Xio Toi (#98 Sauteed Broccoli in garlic sauce) always the bomb! The food here is really excellent. I just wish that there would be more understanding that when a customer says they are ordering an appetizer, and emphasizes that they will have the pho AFTER the appetizer they would listen. I tried for a second time to communicate this with greater emphasis, this time to the owner, who took my order but the pho arrived when I wasn't even midway through my appetizer, and I'm definitely not a slow eater. I guess next time I'll have to give further explanation that will hopefully work. Also, while I was eating dessert, one of the waiters kept watching me to see when I was finished - not a good practice. I doubt most people want to be watched while eating. read more

Huế Style Beef Noodle Soup (Spicy) - Bún Bò Huế $11.95 Rice vermicelli noodle with beef brisket, pork knuckles & pork ham. I love regular Pho and this time I opted for one mentioned above. Needless to say, the quality was again excellent, broth was full of flavor, I had it with egg noodles at the recommendation of Liem. This review is for Liem, whom I met first time today, pleasant and with high emotional quotient. I matter of factly mentioned as I was going through the menu, to have really good food to settle my foul mood. He immediately and genuinely engaged me with kind and encouraging words. He didn't had to, but stayed long enough to make me feel relaxed. I would not expect such engagement by someone waiting my table. It made the experience twice good, this is almost a non descript Pho place but very high quality of food and I have always experienced great service. I had #30 Chef Special Pho- with flank steak and braised ox tail. $14.95. I love ox tail, but I never had it before in a soup, I loved it. Broth, as always is the star in the entire soup. Meat was so tender and ox tail flesh was well cooked. I ordered fried spring rolls, #1 under Appetizers. Crispy fried pork rolls. It is a must try item. My experience today was same as last visit, every single table was occupied and besides me, and another couple, all patrons seemed to be ethnically associated with the restaurant, that is a good indicator for me to eat at such places. What a tragedy. My family has been coming here for as long as I am old! One of the traditions, aside from the usual meal, is to get pho when I go to and come back from uni, as it's on the way. So, it was heart breaking the moment we walked in and everything felt off. The prices were raised. As some others have mentioned, the taste is not as good. The soup and the meat is bland. They no longer have the thick glass noodles that usually we can just ask "clear noodles" for, no problem. They delayed giving us water or the dessert until reminded, service is no good, not as friendly. Had to be reminded for tea too, came as cups not a pot. Miss the old employees. This local spot is always busy! We've been here 4 times now for to go and dine in. I like the summer rolls and lemongrass dish the best. If you like light and fresh appetizers try the summer rolls. They are crunchy from the lettuce and sweet from the peanut sauce. If you like lemongrass and a medium spice, try #103, I believe it is. It comes with peppers and onions in a light flavorful sauce. No major complaints but the lemongrass dish has tasted slightly different the 3 times I've had it. Also, my to go order wasn't what I ordered so I was disappointed when I got home. They also rush to close so as we ate, they dragged garbage out and the old oil. This really took away from our dining in experience. I recommend giving the food a try. read more

It's so hard to find a good authentic pho place. Every time my family craves pho, no matter where in New Jersey we are we'll make it here to have a bowl of their pho. The best is when you're sick all of that pho broth is good for the soul. Atmosphere: I have to say though, this place is kind of small. The restaurant is located in a parking usually packed and you'll definitely have to wait for a spot. If you're lucky, you'll be their on a day where maybe 1 spot is available. The place usually has a wait at night due to the place being small, but their turnover on tables is quick. Service: The service is eh. Just like any typical Asian place. The main focus is to get as many tables in and out as possible. This makes the service only sub-par. Out of all the times I've been here, they only messed up once. They forgot my food and made the order after everyone finished theirs. Food: One of the best pho places in Northern New Jersey that I've tried. Pho is all about the broth. The clarity, the consistency, and taste Bing Duong's broth has it all. The portion are decently sized. If you order an XL expect that you'll get an XL bowl. So places skimp out on portions even when you're ordering an XL. The spring rolls and steamed crepes are definitely a must. The food here is amazing! I personally love the pho with pork chop. It is filling and reasonably priced. The pho is a mixture of sweet and tart, which sounds strange I'll admit, but the broth is so warm and savory, it almost feels healing to the soul. The pork chop is masterful. The first thing that hit me was the smell. I love Pho. The best pho I've had was at Obao in NYC or Saigon Pho in East Hanover. They're clean. The pho is good. Service is better at Obao but decent at Saigon. This place. Not so much. It smelled straight up FUNKY when I walked in. The service was slow and lackadaisical, like they couldn't care any less. Took forever for someone to come over to me so that I could order. Vegetarian pho and shrimp summer rolls were both just ok. Nothing to write home about at all. Getting more water was hard because no one would come back to the table. Getting the check was even harder. I don't think I'd come back. The service was careless and slow. The food was mediocre. This is one of my favorite go to places for Vietnamese food. Today was no different. Feeling under the weather hubby tells me I need soup. Not just any type but bone broth soup. My ears perked up like a corgi hearing the dinner bell. Hubby bundles me up and drives us to this restaurant. Like my fellow Yelpers all state, this is a humble looking place. You go in and there is maybe 14 tables. It's dirty. There bathrooms are filthy and you're almost too scared to peek into the kitchen. Then you order and taste their food. Oh. My. The pho, noodle soups, rice dishes and summer rolls are usually on point. The rest can be up in the air based on what you were expecting and preferences. Tonight we ordered banh xeo and it was beyond disappointing. Barely any shrimps and had we not read the menu, were wouldn't have known about the pork. My kid did concede he found a piece of pork in a bite. Hmmmm. Not good. It was also swimming in grease and that displeased my hubby. As we were going to say something, the soups came. Oh boy! Mine was #36 which is a thick rice noodle in spicy chicken broth. The soup contains pork knuckles and oh that beautiful pork hock! The fat truly is in perfect ratio with the meat. Spread a little shirracha and explosion in your mouth. My hubby ordered his stand by #21-pho tai which is with rare eye rounds. The kid had #20-pho dac biet which has eye rounds, tripe, brisket and tendon. The hubby and kid said there restaurant skimped out on the broth and meats. They were disappointed. We are wondering if they went into a partnership or something. The waiters and cashier are the same with a few extra added waiters. Before they airways walked around making sure everything was good. They'd even ask you if everything is satisfactory. Tonight they just huddled together and chatted and didn't come around until you signaled to them. They left you with dirty plates and didn't offer to exchange them for clean ones. What happened to you guys? Wake up because you were the top. After living in NYC and Jersey City, I've eaten some of the best Vietnamese cuisine this part of the country has to offer. My wife and I recently moved to Montclair and have been craving good Vietnamese and came across this restaurant. It's hard to master healthy lite tasting Vietnamese with all fresh ingredients and Binh Duong has done exactly that. I'm so happy we no longer have to trek far to get good food.
