The younger employee who was helping me was kind, but while I was trying to explain what I wanted, an older woman repeatedly talked over me so the younger employee couldn't even hear me. It came across as incredibly rude and unprofessional. I don't know why some people think it's acceptable to speak over their employees like that, especially in front of customers. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere from the very beginning. After I had to move my car, I came back and asked if I could use the restroom before my appointment. I was told they don't have a restroom for customers, so I said I would cancel the tint and just do the threading because I needed to leave sooner. Only after I said I wanted to cancel the tint did they suddenly tell me I could use the neighboring business's restroom if I told them I came from their salon. At that point it was the principle of the matter. If you're unwilling to accommodate customers until they're about to cancel a service, it doesn't leave a great impression. Even after I explained I wanted to cancel the tint, I was repeatedly asked if I wanted to keep it anyway. I finally had to say I was ready to check out because I was becoming uncomfortable. The threading itself was okay overall, although the left eyebrow was noticeably more painful than the right. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that the older woman stood there watching the younger employee perform the entire service. Instead of allowing the technician to work independently, she hovered over her the whole time, making it feel like I was sitting in the middle of a training evaluation rather than enjoying a relaxing appointment. Getting your eyebrows done should be a pleasant experience. Instead, the atmosphere felt tense, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily stressful. She also had the audacity to ask me out of nowhere if I had cash or only a card for no benefit to myself. Only a card you're welcome for the payment. I have cash but not for you. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. One other thing that stood out: I arrived around 4:30 PM, and the business advertises that it's open until 7:30 PM. When I first came in, I also asked about getting a brow lamination, but I was told I had to make an appointment in advance. That's perfectly fine if that's their policy. However, when I left, there were no customers in the salon and both technicians were available. One of them even asked if I wanted to schedule a lamination appointment, but by that point I declined. I came in ready to pay for threading, a tint, and a brow lamination, but because of the overall experience, I ended up getting only the threading. That's a completely preventable loss of business and an unfortunate example of customer service driving away a paying customer. UPDATE: To the terrible manager Raman who responded below. I see why the service is the way it is. What part of talking over a customer don't you understand? Is it reading minds or talking over customers the only two options to you and your unprofessionalism? Yes, I was told there was free parking in the back. I moved my car to the back and there was no open parking in your spots and I told you all that, you twit. So what's your point aside from showing your aggressive temper with baseless retaliatory points as a "manager?" And who said I felt pain in my upper lip? You need to take a breather lol. Your response below says a lot about you and you as a representative of this establishment.

This is my new nail spot, I kid you not. Melanie, the owner, is amazing. She is literally everything you'd want in a nail tech-she's honest, clean, efficient, and really cares about the quality and customer satisfaction. I went into her shop thirty minutes before closing and asked if she could do a gel set for me. She took me in with no question! I didn't even have an appointment. She had another tech do my set and she did an awesome job, but Melanie checked it out and she said it wasn't up to her personal standards, so she set an appointment for me to come back to get a gel set on the house, even though I declined it hahah! Honestly, I thought the tech did a fantastic job, but Melanie insisted that I come back and she would do the set over again for free. She is really a perfectionist! She also is so CLEAN! She gave me the breakdown of her cleaning procedures and everything- she does not double dip with her tools. Everything is sterile! The shop is so cute! It's clean, has plenty of comfortable seating, and the staff is so sweet and welcoming! There's a coffee maker, water, and other refreshments to enjoy while you wait. The shop has SO MANY COLORS! She has so many gels and regular colors, it's like nail polish heaven. They're also very organized so finding and comparing colors is a breeze. I hate fishing through piles and boxes of colors. After 18 years of going to the same manicurist, she retired. I had to find a new one. I read reviews after reviews of shops in my area. One in particular kept coming up, Bio Laque Nails. I made the call, Melanie answered. Very pleasant on the phone, I scheduled an appointment for the next afternoon. I arrived and was greeted by everyone there. Very friendly and kind. Melanie introduced herself and sat me at her station. Let me start with the salon is BEAUTIFUL & CLEAN. Let me get to the point of this review. My new manicurist would have huge shoes to fill, 18 years of friendship and loyalty now being turned over to someone new......... Melanie ( Meline) NAILED IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the moment I sat at her station I had a really good feeling from her. A personality that could charm the birds from the trees and a professional demeanor as well. She exceeded even my own VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS!!!!!!! and on my FIRST VISIT.....Needless to say, I have found my new nail salon and my new and very pleased with, manicurist ,Melanie. I've always feared that if a man goes for a manicure and pedicure it's feminine. For the longest time I avoided nail shops and nail salons until one day I had no choice and I was having an issue with my nail and the pain was dominating my mind. There's a really nice cupcake shop next-door so I always go for my morning coffee and sweet treats so when I stop by I noticed there was a new nail shop. I said to myself why not try it because it's been bothering me and I have to say I went in it was absolutely amazing and for all these years that I've been avoiding me getting a pedicure. I was greeted by a very beautiful smile that explain to me exactly what needs to be done and how careful the young lady was. I regret why I waited so long but I have to say this new shop is absolutely amazing it's so clean and sanitary wise it's absolutely amazing. Now me and my wife can go for a manicure and a pedicure and there's nothing feminine about it. I would highly recommend to my macho friends that are getting their manicures and pedicures done in secret to finally come out and enjoy the experience. I'm so happy this place opened. It feels like being in a high end nail salon without breaking the bank. They are reasonably priced and does excellent quality of service ! I've been here 2 times and I will definitely be a regular customer. I had my acrylics filled w/ gel mani & regular pedi. I paid $65 , that is super reasonable compared to other places. The owner even threw in free crystal bling on each of my ring fingers. The place is super clean ! The chairs are so comfy with crystal / iridescent glass basin. I was very relaxed and felt very pampered. They literally have a whole lot of color selection to choose from, different shades and hues. I truly love it ! The staff is super friendly & most of all, the owner is very accommodating and awesome. She's a perfectionist . She buffs and shapes perfectly, cuticles are removed, she does a very clean job ! There's plenty of parking on the street ( Burbank Blvd. ) & they also have spots in the back parking lot. I've been coming here for 4 years now and let me tell y'all, this place is just so patient and amazing. I always feel at home every time I come in, always asking me how I am doing, offering me pastries and coffee, and All the girls there make you feel welcomed and wanted. I have never left that place never feeling disappointed. I recommend the bio gel ! My real nails are so long and healthy thanks to Melanie recommending it, I've been having that for a year in a half now and I don't ever regret it one bit. All the girls are great but by nail lady who already knows how I like my nails is Jasmine, she is always doing some crazy cool designs to my nails and she's up for it :) That salon is worth waiting the wait and anyone who hasn't given them a chance, MUST because you will not regret it one bit and there work is very outstanding. read more

Melanie is the absolute sweetest and I trust her with everything beauty related. I've gotten my nails done here, my hair done here, and every time I have been so happy. I've always struggled with finding a good nail salon who could do my nails the way I want them to and Melanie goes above and beyond that. Her and her staff are so amazing and so sweet, I don't think I will ever go anywhere else ever again. If you're looking for a place thats affordable and amazing service, this is the place to go. I've been going to this salon for the past two months or so...I've officially gone from a regular acrylic girl for the last 10-15 yrs to a sworn in natural nail girl. Never thought I'd be happy without acrylics but trust me when I say no one can tell the difference. I was at the same salon for over ten yrs until I moved to another city so it was pretty hard for me to switch over (I'm loyal when I like a place). But I had to give convenience a shot and I'm glad I did. BioLaque introduced me to "BioGel nails." Way better than any gel, acrylic or sns. My natural nails grew long, strong and fast! I promise nobody's been able to tell they're my actual nails. I'm truly happy with not only the service but the atmosphere as well. They strive on being a "high end salon" but aren't. I felt as if the person doing my toes has never done a pedicure in her life. My toe nails looked horrible. I never sought to get my money back when I complained I just wanted to express how dissatisfied I was with my nails and I got immediate backlash from the manager. That's when I lost it. The manager offered to give me a free visit the next time I go but I honestly don't even care to go back. That's how horrible it was. Long story short there are other places in the area that do a better job and for a lot cheaper. Also, their nail color selection is horrible. The older woman who did my nails was very kind, but unfortunately the quality of the manicure was very disappointing. The edges were sloppy, alcohol was repeatedly sprayed all over my hands, and she spent a lot of time trying to clean up the polish with remover -- but the final result still looked messy. Honestly, it's something I feel I could have done myself at home. I was really hoping this would become my new nail salon, but unfortunately I'll need to keep looking. The reviews were decent so I tried it out. I called, spoke to Helen & got an appointment the same day, in the evening. I specifically asked her if they use iGel Beauty Dip Powder bec that's what I had on my nails already & she confirmed. I arrive, all lights are off, salon closed (Nooooo!!!). I call Helen asking about parking in the rear (per Yelp reviews) & where was everyone. She says they don't actually have parking in the rear and she would be 5 mins late. I parked out front at the metered parking & waited. She & her team did not take long. Myself & another client enter. The salon has massage chairs with attached foot baths. They line the foot baths with a single use plastic covering. They all wore masks as did we (the clients). There's a movable protective sheild for when they are doing your feet. Helen was very helpful and patient assisting me select a color for my hands. I wanted to use OPI gel polish. I brought in my own polish for my feet. I ask again about the iGel Beauty Dip Powder. She says they only have the color dip powed in that brand then proceeds to use whatever powder that's in her silver tins. Ummm, OK. I will excuse her snipping a piece of my actually nail off, some meat & making me bleed due to her being a bit rough and rushed. After she saw me bleeding she slowed down but showed no emotion that she just ripped a piece of my nail off. I know, I know, most people would have gotten the heck otta Dodge. I guess I'm one that sits thru the movie even when it sucks, LOL. The gentleman was meticulous at massaging my feet. My super dry feet feel so soft and my calves loved his hands. Oh and I loved that hot stone! I think I will try that at home. Helen did a decent job removing my old polish, sanding my nails and polishing. The whole, using one arm of the massage chair to do both hands was a bit uncomfortable. I ended up not using an OPI gel polish becauseI wanted to match my toes. She was nice when trying to find a match. She missed some corners during the hand polish. She ended up finishing my pedicure w/o drawing blood, LOL. Ultimately, I got a regular pedicure no bells or whistles (I only get my feet done because I can't polish neatly. Other than that, I normally do my own feet. So no extras for me.) with regular Essie polish and powder dip fill manicure with gel polish. The whole process took 1 hr 50 mins. I paid $25 for feet and $40 for nails. IDK, seems pricey to me but I'm from NYC so maybe these are LA prices, whatever, all good...well maybe I feel this way due to my blood loss, haa haa. Will I return? Let's wait to see if my finger doesn't fall off first, LOL. Other than BloodGate and the missed polish spots it was an OK experience. I actually love my nail color. Oh and the reviewer that mentioned them not taking plastic, Helen said their credit card maching "was not working" but I could pay using Venmo or Zelle...So yeah, will I return....IDK....

The lack of customer service and accountability was just as disappointing as the hair. I won't be back.

She only works on Sundays so as often as possible I book on Sundays. To be fair, there are a number of manicurists I have not experienced. They accept appointments and walk-ins. It is a relaxed atmosphere that so many enjoy.

I have driven by this location about a million times and was always curious to check it out…read more I finally got a chance recently. This place is so centrally located on a busy cross street of Moorpark and Van Nuys where it is always a hustle to get through. But I finally find a down time to check it out. I wish I hadn't waited this long because the parking situation is a breeze as they give you free hour parking with validation. They didn't have a wait and the space was very expansive. One of the largest spaces I've seen especially because they have an upstairs and a grand downstairs that you're used to seeing from the street level as you driveby on your regular commute. All I can say is there service was impeccable and I loved the gel nails and the pedicure that I got. They had all my favorite color schemes and that's all that I can ask for.
