So unbearably slow! We have waited 90 minutes for our order and they got my simple hamburger order wrong. We had a group of 6 & our orders dribbled out over the 1 1/2 hr until we got our last plate. The amounts were good. My granddaughters were enthusiastic about a giant pretzel. I ordered 2 appetizers--fried green tomatoes and grilled Brussels sprouts. Both were good, but took way too long. No one came over to check on our table or explain the delay. We had to go & wait at take-out counter to finally find an employee to check on our order, but didn't seem to help. The food was good, generous portions but again, poor service for 3 adults and 3 kids. 90 minutes is a long time to hungry kids. Our family came often to the other location. The beer was good, but that's about it . The manager of the establishment couldn't give a rats ass about anyone . My mother in law and sister in law got patty's that were not fully cooked, my chili cheese burger had barely a sprinkle of cheese and no flavor . Had to stop eating my burger half was through because my stomach started hurting , thought maybe the booze was upsetting my stomach . Ended up sick with both diarrhea and vomiting . Turns out it was the food, my husband and mother law also ended up sick same as me and my sister in law got lucky with just an upset stomach . Apparently after I left my mother in law tried to speak to the manager only for him to scoff at her and practically say she's full of shit . Very disappointed in Bird Creek. When it was previously Bird Creek Burgers, the menu selection was southern and the service was great, along with the food. We arrived 5 minutes after opening, and now as Bird Creek Brewing and the disappointment left us confirming that we will not be coming back. Each of our food was brought to us cold, and we had to send it back as well as eat what was provided to us incorrectly. One of our orders was offered to be reheated; another of our order - we requested no cheese due to an allergy - and we still received our order with cheese. The old Bird Creek was better than this revamped version, and sadly we will not be coming back. read more

In the downtown area of Temple, the first address it took us to was wrong, had to look it up again. Not their fault. When we got there, it wasn't busy so plenty of street parking, but I could see how that could be an issue if it was slammed. Came on my birthday in February for a flight, which they don't do but they do half pours. I think for a brewing company this is crazy limiting. As someone that loves beer and loves visiting breweries, I want to know your styles and how you brew but not get drunk off my *** doing so. I tried 3 half pours and a drink of my brothers beer. I think they are doing good quality brews here. I took how a crowler of their hazy for my wife even. For food we ordered the cheese curds and a burger with fries. The quality was good. I am a sucker for cheese curds. I don't feel like there was anything that stood out from the next but they were prepared properly. IF you like cheese curds while having a beer, you'll like these. The burger was ok. Again, it was the classic, nothing stood out. If I was sitting at home and thought man, I could go for a burger, this place wouldn't pop into my head, but if I was here, it's good to order. Fries were very basic, I covered them in so much salt it was likely considered torcher. The place itself when you walk in was very confusing. There's a greeter, who directs you to a row of kiosks for ordering food and soda/water. BUT, if you want beer you have to go to the bar. You can order food there at the kiosk and then order beer at the bar but the tab doesn't carry over so you have to close out at the kiosk and go to the bar OR the bar can handle it all if your drinking. Again, not a very intuitive set-up for a brewery. If you're there for some beer, you typically start with a beer and maybe an appetizer, then beer and lunch/dinner. There's so much staff walking around, multiple bartenders, and a greeter, why the confusing kiosks when you enter and no ability to keep a tab open while you spend more time there. Confusion aside when you enter, once you sit down the inside has lots of metal, wood, brick, would this be called industrial? Maybe, IDK, I liked it. I believe there is outdoor seating as well. Bathrooms were well taken care of. Overall, good little brewery, I would imagine if they made changes to flights being made available it would have more appeal to brewery hunters. As well as a more passionate menu the foodies. I'll be back for some more beer in the future for sure. read more

This was our third visit to Bird Creek, but our first to the brewery itself. I'm not crazy about the set-up - - it's obvious the food is no longer their gig; microbrews are. That's all well and good, but they should still pay attention to the food - - and the food IS good. Actually, the hubs and both agreed that our burgers were even better than they used to be at the prior location. But here's my problem (and why I could only give it three stars right now): I wanted the mushroom burger, but I am absolutely no fan of goat cheese, so (whilst placing my OWN order, part of the reason for the lower rating) I removed the goat cheese (which is pricey compared to most other burger cheeses), and so when I went to add provolone (the ONLY other cheese choice), it wanted to add $1.50 to my already-pricey total. So I opted to go cheeseless. And consulted the manager. I feel like as goat cheese tends to be more expensive than dairy cheeses anyway, the very least they could do was not only make the switch free of charge, but there should be more than one cheese available for a Shroom burger, which usually actually has Swiss. She was very nice and told me that she would address my concerns and send them up the ladder. I hope she does. But until I find out that that's the case, I will leave it at three stars. Absolutely worst dining experience ever. After spending 15 minutes navigating through the menu not being able to modify my needs ( they need a tab to type special instructions) and then after all of that wanting to pay cash was unavailable. After figuring out payment they ask for a tip. What. Burger was cold wrong temp. After 30 minutes someone finally came by to ask if everything was okay. Really that deserves 20% after all this. I get better service at a drive through. Also my sister found a hair in her salad and server or whatever she was said Im sorry I will inform the kitchen. No manager in sight and she never came back. The Brewery is awesome but I suggest not eating there. That is until they figure out why they failed in so many ways. They desperately should go back to their old ways when service and food were top notch. read more

They have a large open outside seating, they could use TVs or more visible and louder for those outside. Love that they allowed my dog outside with me. The inside looked great. The fried pickles were okay, nothing super impressive. Overall, the service was great. I would like to visit again and try more food and drinks to give them a better more detailed review. read more

Spent the morning at the hospital and we were hungry and craving a burger and a beer. Found this place on Yelp and drove over for a late lunch. Rachael or Rachel met us at the door and made us feel very welcome. We decided to sit at the bar and she gave us some one on one time to get us familiar with the place. I tried a few different beers and we ordered cheese curds while we decided on what we wanted. I don't take photos but she had the chicken burger and I had the jalapeno popper burger and EVERYTHING was great! She explained everything nicely and gave a us the brief history on the place. We are visiting town and ordered truffle fries while waiting for our other friends to attend. They were extremely cold. Since we arrived at 11:30 we assumed the food would be fresh and hot. That was unfortunate. The beers were very refreshing and the young lady behind the bar was knowledgeable and was able to assist us in finding what we prefer. I went back to the kiosk to order my lunch when the fries I previously ordered appeared. I was under the impression that maybe I was just adding to my prior order. That wasn't the case I was charged twice. When I presented my issue to the staff (two different employees) they looked and responded as if this was an isolated incident and didn't make suggestions on how to rectify the issue. To not make waves in a town I'm unfamiliar with I let go. She asked me if I or the kids enjoyed the extra fries. I respectfully said no, because we had plenty with our meals. Was a little nervous to try the new location with some of the reviews but so glad we went. My nephew's favorite thing is their chicken and waffles which is now only on the brunch menu so we went for brunch. The new location is very nice, the indoor and outdoor seating is great. I love the ordering kiosks and self serve drink station. The hostess that greeted us was very kind and explained the process to me since it was our first time at the new location. All of the staff and service was great. We waited only about 25 min ish for our food and that was for 5 people. All of the food was absolutely delicious and seasoned to perfection. Amongst the table we had chicken and waffles, the eggs Benedict, eggs and sausage. Everything was 10/10. Very glad we came and can't wait to come back to try their dinner options. We came here maybe a month or so ago and during that visit the food was exceptional. It is definitely on the pricier side but considering the quality we deemed it worth a return. Well, today was the day. We visited for lunch and it was night and day quality wise. The burger tasted good but was overcooked well past the option we selected. The bun itself was burnt and every single plate of fries delivered to us were cold and inedible. Additionally, the chicken tenders were thinly sliced, overcooked and dry. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were with this experience. We will be giving this establishment one more chance to see if this occurrence was a fluke Maybe just an inexperienced chef or something but the next time will determine if we become long time customers or not. read more

I want to like this place. Actually...I want to love it. The pieces are pretty much all there. They just never seem to quite fit together. Beer selection is also good. Always something interesting to try. But when the bartender guy (we were there 10/11) is....abrupt when you as if you're a) holding up his huge yet nonexistent line or b) basically just a pain in the butt for him to have to bother with. Food...also very good...if it doesn't take forever to arrive and after two send backs to get something fixed wait staff basically gets in your face to tell you you're wrong. I was a longtime fan of bird creek burgers, tried the new bird creek brewing today and was not impressed. Bar Service was horrible. At one point the manager came over and asked about the food, my party all had the same opinion that it was barely edible. The manager, who was wearing a tank top dress with no bra (completely inappropriate attire for a manager) said ok thank you, no apology or anything. Beer selection was horrible. This was our first and last trip to bird creek brewing. This place will not survive with food that bad. There are way better places for beer and food in temple. Go to the west side for mosaic grill or bold republic brewing, food and beer is 20x better! I would give zero stars if I could! I hate to give a bad review however I can't rightfully give a glowing review for something that bad. read more

Don't get fooled by the 1.k good reviews, those were for "Bird Creek Burger" and This is for their new restaurant "Bird Creek Brewing" We were super excited to try the new spot since we were big fans! The positives: Beautiful restaurant, probably one of the nicest looking restaurants in temple. Modern, new and overall amazing atmosphere. Negatives: The owners missed the mark here with the entire concept and it's a real shame. You have to order everything on a kiosk. Sounds like a good idea right? Well what if you're with a large party? Or with small children? You have to order on the spot with zero customization available on entrees. Hopefully you don't have to wait in a long line. If you are with a separate party the food will come out at separate times, so you will end up watching each other eat. We went for brunch. They had no coffee, no orange juice,milk, or mimosas only soft drinks and tea. How? All the silver ware, napkins, condiments (ketchup packets, pre packaged ,frozen butter etc.) are all self served. You go through a self served cafeteria style setup. The food was not horrible, but was not amazing. A little cold and expensive for the portion size. They have zero waitress support. You want a refill you get in line with the entire restaurant at one small drink dispenser. You have an issue with your food? You go to the kiosk? I'm not sure. They are charging restaurant prices for a self served establishment. If I wanted to do everything myself i would of stayed home. Super disappointed!! We will not be going back. Great new brewery/restaurant in downtown Temple. Lamborghini Truck is an outstanding hazy IPA, with tropical notes and perfect mouthfeel. Have had the fish n' chips (solid but was missing the daikon slaw), and the burgers are still great. Looking forward to live music in their courtyard. Nice stage, lots of seating. The kiosk asks for a tip. No wait staff, serve your own drinks (in a small cup), find your own utensils, search and gather your own condiments.
