Garden omelette

Ambience is cute. Service wasn't the best, I think because of the language barrier. He didn't understand English very well, so when I asked what cheese was in the omelette he couldn't give me an answer. Food was good! I enjoyed my ham and cheese omelette The boyfriend liked the garden omelette And we shared the pancake which was yummy with the fruit! Altogether, it was a good experience other than service.

We came here for the happy hour drinks which was any 20oz for $15 I ordered a Miami Vice, and I was disappointed at first because I swear it was a virgin, I had to ask the waiter cause it was a frozen slushy atp. Milton gave me another shot to add. My bestfriend had ordered the tropical drink or something and it was ok... We decided to share a BBQ Chicken flatbread pizza and unexpectedly that was sooo good . It was topped with stuff and very fulfilling . The service took forever I felt like we were getting forgot about but we sat right on the little patio outside looking into the street. 8/10 felt like the tried to scan me out the drink at first

Really good strawberry mojito. Mid spicy marg. Be warned they will charge you for water here(crazy). Vibes are high and good views of the park/beach

While stopping by to get the obligatory photo in front of the Carlyle we saw they had a restaurant and decided to stop for appetizers. They ended up being so large they were our dinner. We had the chicken wings which were "ok" but we ate them! We also tried their calamari and zucchini which was excellent. We both ordered drinks and they were strong but good. Service was also great! And by the way, tell them you want happy hour prices and they will honor them. Their seats are outside like most places on the strip so it's loud but it's great people watching.

Another tourist trap as you are on the fame ocean drive in south beach. The restaurant is along the sidewalk so they hustle and bustle to get you in. We stopped off for a drink but ended up having a meal as well. The waitress that took care of us was really sweet. Friendly and sweet which compared to a few other places along the Blvd, they were not the same. Plenty of drinks on the menu as it is perfect for people watching and enjoying the view. Food wise, it was a mixture of everything. We stopped off for lunch so I'm sure the dinner menu is different . The food was quite nice, the mussels, quesadillas, calamari and fajitas. Service was great, enjoyed our experience and location is great.

My friends and I were offered free shots as we were walking by so we decided to stop by and eat as well, but I wish we hadn't bothered. This place is 100% a tourist trap from the prices to the quality to everything else. The "shots" they gave us were soo watered down, we couldn't even taste the alcohol. We decided to split some Buffalo Wings and Tuna Tartare. The tartare was fresh, but the flavor just wasn't there. It either tasted like I was sucking on a lime or biting into an onion. The bottom part was also soaking up whatever sauce it was sitting in, but it didn't add any flavor to it. All it did was make the chips soggy. For the wings, why in the world did they buffalo sauce come on the side? Why would we ask for buffalo wings that aren't cooked in the sauce? If you're going to do that, at least give us enough sauce to use for all the wings. Geezus. The wings themselves were dry and tasted like they had been sitting under the heatlamp for quite sometime. Don't fall for this tourist trap.

Popular lunch spot on Ocean Drive that doesn't fall 100% into the tourist trap of Ocean Drive. Lots of "inviting" places so you never really know, but I'd been before and felt that the specials along with the service weren't as overpriced as other places. With that said, on a rainy day, we had a great patio area of seats to keep us drive and still keep an eye on people as they walked by. We were all over the place with food, but it worked out. Had the Avocado Burger, Shrimp N Wings, Paella (not full of flavor but still good), Guac n Chips, Calamari, Pizza and quite a few cocktails. The service throughout the time there was great. Didn't feel rushed and got prompt responses when it came to drinks or any other side items. Food portions were good & matched the price point, so no complaints. Drinks were strong, which is good, and the social atmosphere made the family embrace the "South Beach Vibe".

The food tastes good enough. Service was fast however a little bit rushed and they forgot the lemonade. The restaurant has a very good location and great theme throughout the restaurant including a very pink design. The music they played was clean and had no cuss words.

We wanted to have dinner in the building that was home to the brilliant Birdcage movie - this building was used for the filming, but they don't capitalize on that at all (probably too old to care). We were seated inside right away and our very friendly waitress brought us water with lemons, still no ice. This is definitely a theme down here. We ordered a beautiful Miami Vice, but it was light on the alcohol, and a bacon burger and fries. Soccer was on the TV and the restaurant was nice and calm for a Saturday evening. Our food was ok - the burger was well cooked, but it had a funky pickle relish thing on it that was too much to ignore and the bun was stale. The fries were hot (score!) and tasty, but no ranch. Oh well! We were treated to another 20% service charge on our bill, so make sure you make note of that when you order. Friendly staff, light pours on the drinks, and interesting combos on the menu. No Robin Williams / Nathan Lane vibes here, but the pics of the outside brought back memories for sure! #nostalgia

Great spot for breakfast right on Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami. The atmosphere was refreshing and the food was delicious. I ordered the Avocado Toast and the Belgian Waffle, and the server was kind enough to customize the waffle with a Nutella spread.

Tourists always want to have dinner on Ocean Dr. Miami residents usually want to avoid that. Fortunately, the Birdcage Cafe is a spot that delivers service, food, and pretty decent prices for South Beach. Milter was our server, and he was great. Very friendly and attentive. We had a toddler in our group, and he doted on her and made sure we got her food right away. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and came in big portions. The menu has something for everyone. Also, this restaurant is on the quieter end of Ocean Dr, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying if someone's going to twerk in your face while you eat. I'll probably be bringing any guests here when they want a SoBe din din.

Straight up lemon juice!

Ordered some spicy margaritas. I think the bartender forgot to add alcohol. Jalapeños/ Serrano peppers , salt rim was definitely missing. It was just plain lemon juice. I cannot explain how bad the drinks were and they were super pricey! Please save your money and your mood ‍

The bill

BE CAREFUL! The server showed me the cost of my bill ($88.67) on her handheld device, then quickly added herself an extra $10 tip before charging my card (my bill already had a 20% tip included). I caught this sneaky overage through my bank notification before walking away. When I called the server out on this, she played dumb, pulled $10 cash out of her pocket, and sent me on my way. Shady! I'm gonna bet I'm not the first one...

Prices are par of the course on Ocean Drive, take that as you may. They also have the 20 percent automatic tip and a prompt to add more. I ordered a glass of Cab Sab to avoid a cocktail that's more mixer than alcohol and that was actually pretty good. The wine was nice and full bodied. Next up was my $26 Americano Burger with fries. The fries were nice and crispy, and I had them with more than a couple of the little packs that reminded me of elementary school instead of a squeeze bottle like I'm used to from other restaurants. I asked for bbq sauce to dip the fries, and got it after I was done with the fries so I used it instead with the burger. I asked for said burger with no pickles and medium well. While the temperature of the burger was as requested, the burger was overly salty and the American cheese seemed like the squeezable "cheese whiz" type. Also guess what offensive condiment was in the bottom bun? Yes the pickles! While I started to eat the burger keto style (without the bun) I left most of it. While the waitress said she had put the order as no pickle, maybe the kitchen messed up my request.

Service was friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations, which always makes the experience even better. Happy hour clocks in at $12 for food, $12 for all house cocktails, $10 spritzes, and a flat $6 for all beer, which in Miami Beach feels almost suspicious in the best way possible. I kept it simple with an ice cold Peroni while my wife went for the Giardino 75, a gorgeous little spritz built on Empress Indigo Gin, St. Germain, mint, lime, and prosecco. She loved it. The color alone was worth the ten bucks, but it actually drank as good as it looked. For food we shared the Bolognese Grilled Cheese and let me tell you, this thing punches well above its $12 price tag. Thick cut brioche toast, griddled until the edges go deep golden brown, stacked over a rich slow simmered bolognese with cheese pulling through every bite. Dusted with parmesan and fresh herbs, plated with cherry tomato skewers that added a nice little pop of acidity. Comfort food dressed up for a night out. Service was attentive and easy, drinks came quick, plates came hot, and nobody made us feel rushed even sitting through happy hour. The room itself has that playful Sicilian energy with the Moor head planters and bright touches throughout, which fits the vibe of the menu perfectly. Would I make a special trip back to Miami Beach for it? Probably not from Fort Myers, but if you're already in the area during happy hour, this is one of the better values you'll find on the beach. Solid four stars. Good drinks, good food, great specials, and service that actually showed up.

Our waiter Nick was PHENOMENAL at his job and so so kind. We tried the large stone crab claws of course and although I liked how much meat you get compared to other crab / lobster, it tasted of very little and was kind of semi frozen almost? The sauce to dip in was really good. As for the sides, I liked them! Nothing was mind blowing but they were good. My favorite were the grilled tomatoes with spinach and cheese. SO flavorful and cheesy. The corn was pretty average, just mostly limey. I did really like the potatoes lyonnaise though perhaps some cheese would've brought it to the next level.

You feel special, flattered, and excited to sit down. And then... poof. As soon as you are seated, it is like you evaporated from their memory. You are there, but apparently invisible, and suddenly all that charm vanishes. The food came out cold, which would have been fine if it were still tasty, but sadly, it was neither warm nor particularly good. They took it away to "fix it," but the damage was done. I lost track of how many times I saw our waiter after that, and unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for what I paid or for the experience that had already gone off the rails. You can forgive a small mistake, but when the cold food and disappearing service team are combined, it feels like a comedy of errors. So let me give you some friendly advice: stay away. Stay away. Stay away. Unless you are looking for a dining experience that doubles as a lesson in how quickly customer service can vanish, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I'll admit it had story value for me, and I left with a funny tale to tell, but as far as eating out in Miami goes, there are far better options that won't make you question if you were ever seated in the first place.

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon.
