    Bread pudding

First time at Birdcode! Honestly, 5 stars just for being located next to a Wendy's. Loved that they had a drive-thru which I did not expect! I ordered the chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and the bread pudding. The chicken was cooked perfectly!!! No complaints there. The sauce and bun were both really good too. The mac and cheese was just as solid. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the bread pudding, but that's really just personal preference. The staff was super friendly, and I'd 100% come back to try more of their menu.

Finally open for business. Placed a mobile order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The order was ready as promised. I got The Sando. The chicken was very juicy and crispy. The bun wasn't soggy even with the slaw on it. Was lucky enough to get one of the free promo shirts they were giving away. Will definitely be coming back.

We went on opening day so it was definitely busy & backed up but we had GREAT service inside with multiple workers checking on us while we waited. The "Shake Fries" (with spices) were 10/10. The chicken bites were also great and I especially LOVED the comeback sauce and their ranch!

First time eating here, will definitely be coming back. Jimmy greeted us the moment we walked in the door. We had a look at the menu to decide what to get. Love how he went down the line of the order (from what spice level, to if I wanted the sauce, to if i wanted fries or mac ajd cheese). They weren't too busy when we got there but even if they were, they are worth the wait. Jimmy also came to our table to ask us how the food was. They have some really good customer service. I read some reviews elsewhere about how its too "expensive" for being "fast food", personally I felt like the prices were reasonable and pretty average. It's definitely better than Dave's hot chicken and chick fil a (the haters can feel free to go to chick fil a and save birdcode for me). Also seen other people saying it was too spicy? I got mild (I'm a wimp) and it was a little spicy for me BUT I feel like it was a good spicy, nothing that having some mac and cheese or some of my drink couldn't help fix. My husband had the 'hot' sando and said it was hot BUT also, he said it was very good and again, nothing that some pink lemonade couldn't fix (; definitely want to try other items when we are able to come back

Tender chicken, great service, and an awesome vibe. Definitely becoming a regular spot for me.

The food was okay, but I was very disappointed in the service. Appetizers took forever to come out,…read moreand our server never apologized for the wait nor checked on us to see how our meal was. Oysters were very good, but the calamari came out cold and was very bland and overpriced. The aesthetics are solid for the establishment, and the entree was decent. Not a bad restaurant, but the service is a major downside and needs significant improvement.

Today was my first time at The Reserve, and I unfortunately have to agree with some of the Google…read morereviews. The food took quite a long time to come out. We started with a couple of drinks, which were very strong..maybe a little too strong. My sangria didn't taste like sangria at all, and I honestly couldn't tell what was in it. It didn't have any fruit, and I think vodka was added. We ordered the calamari and what was listed as hummus with pita. When it arrived, we noticed the "hummus" was actually spinach and artichoke dip. I had to ask about it since I have an allergy and wanted to make sure a certain ingredient wasn't included. We decided to keep it and I'm glad we did because it was absolutely delicious!! The calamari was just as good, if not better. Both appetizers were fantastic. For our entrée, we ordered the rigatoni to share. There was a bit of confusion, as our waitress (who was also the bartender) thought we wanted it packed to go, when we actually planned to eat it and then take the rest home. She quickly fixed it in the kitchen, so really no harm done. My only guess is that since we had been sitting with appetizers for quite a while, she may have assumed we were finished eating.. I mean it was a while. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. However, it was topped with microgreens and cilantro which really threw me off! I've never had a pasta dish garnished with cilantro, especially instead of something more traditional like basil...? It felt like a strange choice and was a bit unappetizing for me. Overall, it was a very... odd... first experience. Would I give it another shot? Yes, but I think I'd wait a bit and hope things become more organized. I have to add it is beautiful inside. They have the cutest lights on the table. Appetizers: 10/10 Drinks: 3/10 Entrée: 5/10

Aldeia is a one-of-a-kind experience. It's hidden inside the Portuguese Cultural Center, a building…read morethat seems equal parts municipal office and YMCA. As Dana mentioned, when you walk in the building, you will need to turn left and walk past the lively bar (where there will likely be a round football game on TV), before you arrive at Aldeia. Far more subdued than its neighbor on our weekend visit, with well spaced tables draped with white tablecloths, the overall effect is of eating at your avó's after Sunday mass, when important company has been invited over: homey, but special occasiony. Aldeia features simple, straightforward Portuguese standards. There are a lot of grilled options and seafood options, a whole section for bacalhau preparations. (Menu here: https://www.portugueseculturalcenter.org/restaurantmenu) For those who are unused to the practice in Portugal and many other parts of Europe, be aware that there is a couvert -- bread and olives brought out automatically at the start of the meal, for which there is an extra charge. You can refuse it as we did at first. (I hate when our littles fill up on bread and butter and eat nothing else during the meal.) But when the appetizers we ordered (e.g. chouriço) came without the described bread, we relented and asked for the couvert. I was mildly irked at being strong armed into oredering it at first, but those slightly spicy black olives were good enough that I couldn't stay mad for long. We shared a few appetizers: - Chouriço assado - chouriço flambe ("chouriço served on fire with bread") -- Flames are always a hit with the littles and they enjoyed the fat, snappy-skinned, smokey sausage, broiled to taste. The chouriço was chunkier than many commercial versions, conceivably house made. (We've had similar from Erika Nakamura and Jocelyn Guest.) - Frango à passarinho ("fried chicken") -- Undersalted by our standards, not noticeably seasoned, but the chicken was admirably moist, quickly fried at high heat. We are more accustomed to the Brazilian version of this dish and missed the accompaniment of lime and cilantro. - Caldo verde -- a version where a small amount of potato or other starch had been completely pureed into the soup with a small amount of kale and a few bits of chopped chouriço. This was a little too much like Knorr's for my tastes. I personally prefer versions where potato and kale have a less wimpy presence. - Salada de polvo ("octopus, onions, peppers and herbs") -- I am a sucker for this dish (no pun intended) and loved the roughly chopped versions I had at humble seaside cafes in the Azores especially. This version was a elevated version with finely minced onions and peppers, a good amount of olive oil, and delicate slivers of slippery-skinned polvo playing hide and seek in this suspension. - Robalo escalado (grelhado, alho e azeite, vegetais e batatas cozidas) -- The fish was on the smaller side, but fresh and impeccably grilled. Vegetables -- a few broccoli florets, batons of carrot, and potatoes -- were served boiled. It's not my favorite treatment, but they were made far more palatable with the dressing of minced garlic still pale from a quick sautee in oil. - Frango grelhado ("grilled chicken, rice and fries OR small salad and vegetables of the season") -- The Pardner's good angel didn't stand a chance against the prospect of rice AND fries, but sadly, when I tasted it, the rice was a bit hard and the fries soggy, undersalted, and -- oh cardinal sin! -- not served with ketchup. :) The chicken preparation again demonstrated some admirable culinary skills: it was wonderfully moist despite being sliced thin and grilled. But again, the preparation was underseasoned and undersalted for our personal tastes. Another note on authenticity: The service is very....... relaxed, as it is in the Azores and the homeland. We were the only diners in the establishment for some time, but there were long, long lags in service. I have to speculate that our server may have been working the bar room as well given how hard it was to flag him down. (He was quite nice whenever we succeeded in doing so.) It's a shame that I'm an impatient New Yorker. I try to relax into the wait, but I'm not sure I can entirely embrace that in this lifetime.
