Over the weekend, my family and I had a feast at The Cue in Danbury! This establishment is on the side of a busy road, so it might be tough to see at first. Luckily, there is plenty of space for parking. The restaurant has a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Its wood accented interior and warm lighting gives off a southern smokehouse feel, which is very on theme to the food they are serving. Ambiance rate: 8/10. They start off with unlimited corn bread which tasted okay, nothing super special. Rate: 5/10. My family and I ordered... 1. Crispy Pork Belly (from the pit) w/ a side of onion rings: This dish was delicious! The meat was nice and juicy, and the skin was super crispy! Rate: 9/10. - The onion rings were also very tasty and crispy! Rate: 9/10. One negative about this dish is it was a small portion of both meat and side for $23. 2. Table for 4: This consisted of an array of different meats from their pit, as well as 4 sides. As a whole, the portions were very generous, making it a very filling meal, and worth the cost. - Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs: This was flavorful however, the meat was very rubbery. It wasn't falling off the bone which was unfortunate. Rate: 6/10. - Brisket: This was my favorite meat! It was super tender and consisted of a good amount of fattiness! Rate: 10/10. - Dry Rubbed Chicken: This was average, tasted like your regular chicken. Rate: 5/10. - Smoked Sausage: This had a great smoky flavor to it making it very yummy! Rate: 8/10. - Pulled Pork: This was okay in terms of flavor and tenderness. Rate: 7/10. The 4 sides: 1. Truffle Mac n Cheese: This was good, except it lacked a truffle flavor which was disappointing. Rate: 6.5/10. 2. Mashed Potato-Brisket Gravy: This was average, nothing special: Rate: 5/10. 3. Baked Creamed Spinach: This was good, but it was more watery than I would've liked. Rate: 7/10. 4. Sweet Potato Fries: If you're a fan of sweet potato fries, these are right up your alley. Unfortunately, I can't give a fair rating since I don't like sweet potato fries. To add on, they give a variety of their different barbecue sauces which was amazing. My favorite was the Apricot Horseradish! The staff were very nice and helpful! Staff/service rate: 8/10. Overall, they hit the spot with some of their meats and sides, while others didn't. However, if you're in the area, it's worth trying their American barbecue! read more

The Cue Danbury made Mom's 84th birthday very special I mentioned to our server that it was her birthday and maybe they could put a candle in our shared dessert but that wasn't all, Mom was serenaded by the whole crew of young men! My gf and I made reservations, and ordered 2 drinks, she got the strawberry margarita she said it was good and strong and I ordered peach sangria that was water down drink. Ordered calamari and I asked to be crispy they were but the portion was small and the calamari were small for $18.00 that is pricey. Danbury is lucky to have a BBQ joint of this caliber in town. Took my wife and son out for a pre Mother's Day outing and The Cue lived up to all the hype. i can see why they are highly ranked as a premiere spot for BBQ. The cripsy pork belly was absolutely delicious. Crunchy, fatty and savory. The smoked chicken had great smoke and was not over cooked. Perfect bbq chicken. My wife basically said the mash potatoes were the best side of mash she ever had! Sausages and pulled pork were very good. Waitress was friendly and the experience was really nice. We were already talking about coming back while we were eating. Only negative was the brisket we received was dry. I need to be honest to rate the entire experience. Im sure it was just that particular brisket that came out a bit overdone. Baked beans were great. The food coming out of this place is top notch. The spare ribs were the best I have had in a very long time. Melt in your mouth slide off the bone with perfect smoke rings. Fantastic. Love the ambiance and feel of the place. While not the traditional mother's day restaurant, The Cue knows its bbq. Also there's free wifi (which is always a plus), wheelchair accessibility, and if you really like the sauce you can buy it separate to take home. The restaurant inside is very relaxed and theres even a bar if you just want to come for the drinks. Our server Ian was very knowledgable and friendly and really helped us out with our menu selections. The menu had a lot of good offerings in terms of cocktails, but for nonalcoholic options there wasn't too much, I think the inclusion of mocktails could go a long way, especially with such an extensive list of drinks. Additionally, while traditional bbq places that I've been to tend to include a main and a couple sides for their platters, the cue only does a main with 1 side from the pit (extra sides are $8 each). For the bread, there was free cornbread with butter which was pretty good, but they only gave enough for each of us to have 1 small piece. I ordered the lemonade with blueberries as well as the beef brisket with mac and cheese as a side. The lemonade was served in a massive mason jar which speaks well to the value but instead of a puree they kind of just put the berries in the lemonade so it was still more lemonade than blueberry lemonade at the end of it. For such a big drink it should include more berries, or a berry puree, especially if it's an extra charge. The entree was similarly massive with 4 long strips of delicious beef brisket. The mac and cheese seemed like it was still cooking in the hot pan and the slab itself was hot so unless you're trying really hard you won't get a cold meal here. The brisket was nice and tender and more than enough. The main attraction though was the sauces. The main dishes "from the pit" each came with a flight of 5 "sauces", 3 of which were bbq then 1 horseradish and 1 vinegar. I don't know if I'd count vinegar or horseradish as a bbq sauce personally, but the three bbq sauces were very good with the original being my personal favorite. When we finished though our server was nice enough to give us to go sauce containers with lids for our leftover sauce! Overall, a very good bbq spot with great portion sizes and excellent service that I'm already looking forward to coming back to. read more

Craving for bbq?! Search no more! We ordered from this place a week ago and can't get over how good their bbq was! Then decided to bring my "picky sister"! Lol. She loved every of it! We started by ordering our drinks then our server brought 5 dipping sauces and some cornbread. We ordered the 5 meat bbq plus we ordered the brisket (my favorite from my last delivery order) When I say the brisket melts in your mouth, better believe it! We sat and even one costumer approached us and said to order the brisket! After getting our main we got some sides with it, crab fries, coleslaw and their seasonal vegetables. Madeline was a waitress and she was excellent. She explained everything to us. She always came back multiple times to see if we needed anything. The food is excellent. I had the baby back ribs. I only had a half and I still couldn't finish it. truffle fries, Parmesan, not that good they were soggy and no Parmesan or barely any. I couldn't even taste it. Hands-down the best barbecue in Connecticut. Literally everything on the menu is top-notch and the portions are really solid

ORIGIN: Joe Yorio, Chef and Owner, opened Cue in 2016. Yorio's knowledge of the industry initially developed while working in the family's New Fairfield restaurant, and expanded through formal culinary training at Rhode Island's esteemed Johnson & Wales. LOCATION: The Cue is located on a thoroughfare that connects Danbury and New Fairfield communities. CONCEPT: Passing by with my car window down, the aroma emanating from the restaurant lured me to give The Cue a try. As the name suggests, The Cue is dedicated to barbecue -- specifically meats prepared in a smoker and sides and beverages to complement them. The restaurant also prides itself as having an unusually large selection of bourbons, ryes, and whiskeys at the bar. FOOD: I had limited time, so I asked to try something quick to go. I ordered the crispy pork belly with Mac and Cheese as chosen side as the host who greeted me recommended it. The pork is thick and perfectly textured-- neither too fatty nor too meaty/chewy. It is perfect for sharing and came with vinegary dipping sauce that nicely offsets the fattiness. (I appreciated that the sauces are served on the side, as this allows opportunity to appreciate the preparation and quality of meat.) The creamy macaroni and cheese included an uncommon truffle seasoning and choice of cheese (grassy Manchego), contributing an earthy aspect at every bite. I returned shortly thereafter and tried baby back ribs with a side of collard greens. The baby back ribs were perfect, and a "flight" of five different sauces elevated the experience through the novelty of being able to try so many. The collard greens were not cooked in classic southern style, but comparatively bright green, crisp, and bitter due to relatively shorter braising time. In viewing others' photos of the dish, it seems collard greens are usually braised longer than what I had been served, so I won't discourage readers from ordering. Complementary corn bread was served, and was a dry rendition as noted earlier by Erica. ATMOSPHERE: The interior is lined with blond wood and decorated with metal farm tools. The space has some unique features, such as large window through which the 22 foot smoker activity can be viewed, dining tables prepared for a wide range of group sizes, as well as a private dining room. A wrap-around patio with umbrella-shaded tables invites outdoor dining -- an attractive option as the restaurant is significantly set back from the tree-lined road. SERVICE: The host was very patient and thoughtful as he recommended some dishes that were quick to prepare, but also guest favorites. I also appreciated the little packaging detail, where the twine handles of the paper bag were twisted together. TIP: A second location opened in downtown New Milford in 2024. Keep an eye out for live music nights at The Cue via website event page or Instagram. Open every day at 11 AM. I'll start off by saying we have been here many times and it was phenomenal but the last time was so terrible. We were so disappointed with the food. The bread for the burger and sandwich was so mushy and gross. They definitely downgraded their bread products. The Cesar salad was disgusting. They put brown lettuce on my plate with my burger. The pork belly has a perfect crunch on top and juicy everything else. We loved the array of dipping sauces and enjoyed the brisket and ribs too. We sat at the bar because it was busy but we had an awesome bartender Jake who took care of us and made some great drinks. I ordered the espresso martini and a lemon drip martini. I live in SE Pennsylvania, I often smoke meats of all kinds. Maybe prices are lower here, however, I found the prices high. Not super, through the roof, but high. Full rack where I'm from, 34 dollars, I believe his were 44. We found the ribs tender, but salty. I got baked beans as 1 side, boring. The veggies and roasted cauliflower were absolutely delicious! I also got an order of brisket. VERY tasty, not greasy at all. Only 6 small slices, expensive. Whatever BBQ sauce they gave us tasted like it had worcestshire sauce too much, in fact. I also got a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. It was pretty good. I thought I saw horseradish on the menu, went with sandwich as is. They may benefit if they offered a sandwich with provolone and either horseradish or hot mustard. The entire was just about $100. Sandwich was 20. So for 100., I think 62-65 would have been more in line. Too expensive and seems to cater to, it's on the menu, upscale clientele. I won't be back. Not worth the money AT ALL read more

We came here as our first meal in the area after a recommendation from our realtor and boy did it not disappoint. I'm not even the biggest bbq fan or meat eater but could not get enough of the brisket. I think it's truly the greatest bite of meat I've ever had. This was seconded by our friends who are big bbq fans. The first visit was with my hubs and father, big whiskey fans and the bourbon menu apparently is selected by the owner to which my father said "best menu I've ever seen". We were crazy and decided to order the table for four (5 meats and 4 sides) as a group of three. After stuffing ourselves with ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, and pulled pork, we enjoyed the coleslaw, beans, cauliflower, and the mashed potatoes. I think we had 4 more meals of leftovers it was so much food! We've been back with friends and have also done takeout and never been disappointed. Also who doesn't love a tray of different bbq sauces?! The staff are friendly, patient with a toddler as well as a grown man who can't decide on a bourbon. My son and I have often gotten deliveries from The Cue and have LOVED it. We've been trying to get there in person and it finally happened yesterday! Yesterday was very rainy and dreary in CT, so we were a bit surprised to see them so busy on Saturday, mid-afternoon. As we approached the door, we smelled the smokiness before opening the door! A good sign! The building appeared relatively small from the exterior, but upon entering, we realized that it was much roomier than the outdoor appearance. The host stand was to the left and we were able to get seats pretty easily. Several tables were filled with happy diners - there was actually a table of 16 people celebrating a birthday. Beyond that table, we noticed a smaller room that can accommodate a private party, too. From the dining room, you can actually see the chefs loading and unloading the smokers through a large window! Onto the service - our server, Zeo, was very sweet and accommodating, checking on us often, refilling our drinks, chatting - very personable! We ordered drinks - my son ordered their house made sweet tea, that was perfect! And I had a bourbon cocktail with peach puree and orange - it was definitely bourbon forward with subtle flavors of the fruits! Delicious! And we ordered The Cue Nachos with Chopped Brisket - the serving was ENORMOUS! The cheese sauce was served on the side, so the nachos didn't become soggy. The brisket was so tender and had perfect smoke flavor! So as to save room for our entrees, Zeo brought a box to store our leftovers. My son had the Dry Rub burger and added bacon to it - he said it was outstanding and cooked perfect to his liking! His truffle parmesan fries were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and had just the right amount of truffle parmesan flavor that did not overwhelm the fry! Fantastic! I had The Cue Salad with grilled chicken - the salad was LOADED with cucumbers, chick peas, olives, roasted poblano peppers and tender, chicken! Amazing! Their food, service and ambiance are definitely recommended! Their menu has a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, burgers, sandwiches, salads and kids menu. Would actually rate it 4+ Went here with a family of 7 on a Saturday evening. Started off with clam chowder, empanadas, calamari and nachos with chopped brisket which were all very good. My two sons had the full racks of ribs with truffle fries which were massive and delicious. His girlfriend had the BLT burger which was excellent. My son's kid had the chicken and waffles which he enjoyed very much. My wife had the filet mignon medium which was excellent and Mac and cheese which she loved. She had 2 5oz. Filets which were enough for her to make a Philly cheese steak sandwich the following day. I had the pick 3 from the pit. Brisket which was excellent. Ribs which were also excellent. i am easily impressed by barbecue. the queue is a great combination of amazing bbq good service and lots of great beer choices we ordered the wings my partner does not like spicey the buffalo is more mustardy than buffalo but still good the platter of brisket pork belly and ribs was not huge but fed 2 the pork belly was amazing crispy and cooked perfectly they had a special on a small flight of beers and my partner was able to order one he like most the desert was apple fritters with cream sauce - wow it was good and there was left overs good service i am sorry i forgot to take pictures as we were hungry so i took some of out side hahah read more

I'm from Texas and I'm trying to find some good Cue up here! Let me tell you, it starts from miles away, you begin to smell the Oak. As you walk to the door you're greing with the smell of smoke along your way. You enter and they have Country music playing and it smells even better inside. I ordered the 3 meat plate with Brisket, Crispy Pork Belly, Ribs from the small end and Mac and Cheese. I took the first bite of Brisket and the Oak came through with Black pepper and savory spices with a hint of dried friut on the meat. This was a very good restaurant and a great place to be with friends and family. The meals were excellently prepared and we were given large portions of food and it was very high quality. The service was fairly quick and our server was very nice. However, one of the members at our table received a salad that contained an excessive amount of beets, it must have been at least 4 cups of straight beets. On your salads, please reduce the amount of beets if they are included in the meal. read more

I've been to The Cue a number of times in the past for dinner and found the brisket to be out of this world. Today I went there for lunch and it was a whole different story. I ordered a brisket sandwich with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese and it's sounded like it would be juicy moist and delicious. The brisket was ​ small in portion, dried out and ​stringy and there was very little caramelized onions. The ​ kicker was there was a very thin slice of Swiss cheese instead of cheddar. They need somebody new in the kitchen. Very disappointed. read more
