    Blueberry Lemon Pie

What a wonderful experience, from a comfortable setting to amazing fresh food made with something that most restaurants lack! HEART and Passion. The owners were even on site to talk little about the journey in opening a restaurant with some flavors of South Florida and great comfort food, mixed with down to earth service from people who have smile on their face and care. After seating, the first thing that stands out is a colorful full wall hand painted mural of the restaurant's name Birdies Birds. Started off with an appetizer of juicy Chicharrón followed by very tender and juicy Skirt steak marinated with a Latin flair with sautéed onions and a side of Black Beans & Rice with Maduro's. Desert was a Blueberry Lemon pie and freshly brewed coffee. Great all around adventure and well worth the trek to a Diamond in the rough(Middleburg).

Overall.... I really enjoyed our visit. It is a small restaurant but packed with so much! The employees are welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The food was fresh and packed full of flavor. Omg I got the special Shrimp and Biscuit Bowl w/ portobello, mushroom, bacon, tomato, and red pepper sauce was off the chain. Hubby got the fried chicken scampi on rice and I thought he was going to lick the bowl. We enjoyed dinner so much that we took desert home. Grabbed the pearly butter pie to go! This place is a must!

Tried out this cozy new spot with friends and left full and happy... Southern Comfort with a Sweet Twist mostly thanks to the food and the incredibly kind staff. We shared a few appetizers--mac & cheese, chicharrons, and the standout portobello fries. Those mushrooms were huge, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the gochujang aioli. For my main, I had the Chicken Fried Chicken Biscuit... served with mashed potatoes, country gravy, and a side of corn casserole. Everything was delicious, though I wish the corn casserole had been piping hot. My friends had the Southern Fried Spare Ribs and the Shrimp & Biscuit Bowl... both looked amazing and got thumbs up. Dessert is where this place really shines. We tried the Fried Bread Pudding, Triple Chocolate, and my personal favorite... the Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream Icing. It was like banana bread but softer, sweeter, and absolutely addictive. The vibe is cozy and artsy, with a bird-themed mural that adds charm. It was full but not chaotic, and the owners, Jeff and Jo, were actively checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly. Jo's desserts are a must... trust me when they say "Dessert is NOT an option." Service was friendly and enthusiastic, though a few kinks are still being worked out. My soda barely had ice, and the sweet potato haystack garnish on the mains felt a bit out of place... right in the middle of the plate and not really edible. Still, the staff was eager to please, and the energy was great. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu... and to get another slice of that banana cake. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving comfort food with a creative twist.

Just discovered Birdie's Dinner & Dessert! I actually considered keeping this place a secret . Birdie's Dinner & Dessert in Middleburg is not to be missed. They open at 3 pm (think early dinner) and by about 4 pm they're packed. Two in our party had the fried grouper tacos. The toppings were fresh and the crispy grouper was fried to perfection. I had a pork loin sandwich on a soft brioche bun with a side of fresh Brussels sprouts. But the real gems here are the desserts! Jo, the manager, gets there early every morning and bakes luscious layer cakes, pies, cheesecakes, banana puddings, strawberry shortcakes and more delectable treats. We shared a piece of banana layer cake and Jo kindly brought over a serving of the best bread pudding I've ever tasted, served warm with a lovely sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I got an order of meat loaf and mashed potatoes to go for hubby, and a slice of apple pie cheesecake. Heaven on a plate, and these desserts are less than $6 each. Best value in town, but they sell out on Friday, so get yours while you can! Can't wait to go back!

Cute little quaint restaurant that is new to the sweet town in Middleburg Florida. It's in a shopping center next to a Goodwill. That is the only thing I can think of that would be negative, but not really negative. Just confusing because you don't expect it to be such a dang, good restaurant! This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time and especially since I moved to Florida!

Crispy Mahi Tacos appetizer was amazing!

The mahi tacos and dessert were delicious ! Even though we enjoyed the desserts they are overpriced, but the rest of the menu was very reasonable. .I love how they decorated and the mural is beautiful. Friendly staff and fast service.

While Yum is a destination spot for baked goods and custom cakes, they also have a market that features a variety of treasures made by local vendors. If you're in need of a creative and unique gift for any occasion, then Yum is the place to check out. Whether I've needed goodies for my days off or stocking up for a TV marathon night (Stranger Things 4 in one shot), YUM has always had me covered. I could sit here and tell you all of my favorite desserts, but then this review would turn into a novel. I will say that I leave there with at least two scrumptious cupcakes and several bars. Their 5 (or is it 6?) layer bar is outstanding and reminds me of the ones my Mom used to make for the holidays. It's like the one from the Eagle Condensed Milk can recipe, but so much better. I love that everything is made from scratch and that they're supporting our thriving local community of artists. Yum a Southern Market is well worth the trip, whether you're in the neighborhood or from out of town. A big thank you to the owners and the staff for bringing us such a special place! The last time I got a burger I asked for ketchup on my cheeseburger and was given a tomato instead. other burgers were messed up similarly. Oh well maybe it was an off day. Went back today. Wasn't helped. Finally I had to get out of my car to only find out they were crash only at the moment. The opposite side of the building (not facing the road) had several signs....the side facing the road didn't. So not only did we have to wait to not be served we had no clue they were cash only during that time. Kinda a bummer. Hope the next time they've figured some things out.

Love their milkshakes and all their food items! It has the 50's drive-in feel vibe going on. You park and they walk up to your car and take your order. Or you can get out and walk up to the window. Back in the early 1990's when I was working as a truck driver out of Jacksonville a few times a month I would stop by Powell's for lunch when traveling through Starke. Today we ordered a milkshake. I ordered the Cookies & Cream Milkshake and it was delicious!!!! The waitress was very friendly. It took maybe 5 minutes to get our 4 milkshakes for all of us. * Definitely recommend you stop by Powell's for lunch/dinner/snacks while traveling through the Starke area.
